I can definitely see why so many people are loving this book. It has elements of a twisty, psychological thriller that hooks readers in and keeps them engaged until the last page. So, I know I'll probably be in the minority here, but this book was a 2/5 star read for me. This was a case of, I loved 90 percent of the book, but the last 10 percent just plummeted the rating.
The twin premise immediately caught my attention because it felt a little different from the typical psychological thriller. It delivered exactly the kind of entertaining, easy-to-read thriller I was looking for—fast-paced, engaging, and the perfect "popcorn" read. I flew through it in just two days, which is always a testament to how invested I was in the story.
My biggest issue was the ending. For me, there really can be such a thing as too many twists. I don't mind multiple surprises when they're spread throughout a book, but this ending just kept unraveling twist after twist after twist. Instead of adding to the suspense, it started to feel over-the-top and unnecessarily drawn out. By the final reveal, I was ready for the story to wrap up.
If you are a fan of Monica Arya and her books, this is one I'd absolutely recommend. It just wasn't the style of ending that landed for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of The Stolen Twin by Jade Lee Wright. This is my first book by this author. It grabbed me right from the start. This one was quite addictive and full of twists. It had me on the edge of my seat a few times. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to others. A 4 star rating from me.

Everyone knows I love a twin trope in my thrillers and this one is just brilliant. A premise that is the stuff of horror movies, having a child stolen right out of the cot. Doesn't bear thinking about.
I loved Bella and reading her inner thoughts, her turmoil and grief over the years. I could practically feel it myself.
Didn't see a lot of the twists coming. It fitted together well at the end although it was a lot to unravel.
Very addictive and a gripping read that I couldn't put down. A new favourite of mine from this author!

This was a rough audio book to get through. The story was just so weak. The main female character second, third and fourth guessed herself constantly which was so annoying. “Is this girl evil? Or is it all my fault even though I have done nothing wrong”😩. And the ending? It didn’t even make any sense?

This one centres around Bella, a mum of adopted twins. She is on a works night out when her husband calls her to say their daughter Robin is missing.
Bella's whole world turns upside down as she rushes back to see if it's true, hoping for it be some sort of elaborate rouse. This was such an interesting start that definitely piqued my interest!
Fast forward and 14 years have passed since Robin disappeared. The family have bever given up hope she would return. After moving house, their other daughter Skylar has made a new friend called Raven, who is always hanging around and has made herself at home.
She seems innocent and harmless enough, but she is also very familiar...could she really be Robin?
The pacing was a little slow to begin with but when it hit the mid to end it took off at breakneck speed! The twists were twisting and although I guessed some of it, it was still a wild ride!
Bella as a main character had me conflicted and at one point I had her as a suspect because the math just wasn't mathing for me lol.
Overall, it is a good read. You'll proabaly enjoy this if you love your endings to have twists on twists.

Please check for triggers!!! I listened to this book on audible and when I first started it there were no trigger warnings! Everything that I have read so far on my list that has any trigger warnings I have made it through and did fine however I know that may not be the case for others. There is animal abuse, infertility, child neglect/abuse, self harm is also mentioned.
From this point forward there may be spoilers I talk about so if you do not wish to see please exit. I did not make this review hidden from spoilers because I wanted people to see that trigger warnings needed to be checked up on 1st.
Bella cannot have children so her and her husband decide to adopt. They are gifted twins through the adoption process. Robyn and Skylar. Robyn is kidnapped from her cot in the middle of the night while Bella is at a work party and her husband, James, is passed out on the couch at the house. They live there for a while longer after there has still been no hope of finding Robyn. James moves them out of town to a new place to start fresh. We fast forward to Skylar is now 15 years old. She has made a new friend, Raven, and starts bringing her around home. One thing is amiss however and that is that Raven resembles Skylar so much. Bella believes she is Robyn. However, as time goes on we see that Raven despises Bella and is tormenting her so Bella believes Raven cant possibly be Robyn.

Raven is in fact NOT Robyn. Robyn died 12 years ago by choking on a grape of all things. We find out that the husband James is a no good dirty dog and handed Robyn over to Bellas old coworker, Gabbi, as she is the twins actual mother. Gabbi gave birth to the twins and thought she could not handle being a mother so she gave them up. Harper, James's sister, worked in the adoption agency and had it set up for James and Bella to receive the twins. She was friends with Gabbi but also wanted Bella to be able to be a mother. James, again being low down dirty dog, couldnt handle the stress of twins. One night when he was out destressing he met Gabbi and had a one night stand. He got her pregnant with a little girl, Raven. Gabbi was selfish though and wanted 1 of the twins back and that is how she got Robyn. James was threatened by Gabbi saying if he didnt give one up that she would tell Bella of the affair.
Now ok, there are so many twists and turns at the end of this book that honestly SHOULD have happened before the ending. We have a scene where Raven and Gabbi kidnap Skylar because Gabbi has been obsessed ever since SHE chose to give up the twins. She said it was a mistake and she wanted them back no matter what she had to do. When Robyn died she told James she wanted Skylar now, he was smart about that atleast and told her no and that was what made them move, but Gabbi followed .... during the kidnapping scene is where we hear all this come to light. However, all the other stuff prior to this that we hear is AFTER the kidnapping. I believe it should have all been found out before or during the kidnapping scene but that is just my opinion.
I feel like we didn't get a good clear ending because we still just get more twists to the story line even in the epilogue chapter.... Also, please tell me how we are letting a little 14-15 year old girl, Raven, be a tormentor and the 50 year old, Bella, let it happen??? It is an adulting world and being tormented by a little teenage girl cant be handled??? We just get endless chatter of Raven did this and Raven did that.... no consequences, no standing up for oneself, no retaliation, no nothing. I can understand why Bella was being that way but at the same time it just made her character really weak. The ONLY time she was strong and badass was when she went to save Skylar. She managed to land a blow on Gabbi and I thought ok great we are getting somewhere... nope I was wrong. I also have to say Gabbi randomly came out of NOWHERE. There was no prior mention of her no feeling that it might be her. It made no sense at all. It is kind of like the author knew someone had to be added but by the time they got to the part they just created a random character and tried to fit the rest of the story around it and that is why we had so many twists at the dead end. Lastly, Raven needed help. She will not change and no one brought up help or a place to give her help and safety. This child has grown up on her own believe of "survival of the fittest" or "kill or be killed" and no one thought to say, hey maybe she needs some good stability and help to get through thoughts on things and try to cope???

The characters are all meh. And the story, I would not classify as a thriller. It is just straight up psychological, that is it. The mystery was at the beginning but there was no mystery on who was tormenting Bella throughout because we already knew it was Raven as it was made obvious. I cant even classify Gabbi's appearance as a mystery because it was just straight up random. Again, psychological is all this book was. Nothing thrilling was technically going on since it was just a teenager in her own rage.

This book had me hooked from the very beginning! I loved how tense and unsettling it was, and just when I thought I knew what was going on, something else happened that made me question everything. The characters were well written, and I honestly couldn’t stop reading because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The ending definitely didn’t disappoint either. Such a gripping, twisty thriller. 5/5 ⭐️

The twists in this book had me speechless yet wanting to reach into this book and handle business 😒.

It's the first book I read of Jade Lee Wright and I really enjoyed the book. I went from sad, to furious, to emotional throughout the book. It did feel a bit repetitive at some point, but the twists finally wrapped everything up, making me even more furious and sad for one of the characters..
I will be reading more of this author.

It was twisted thriller that was heartbreaking and tense to the end.Bella never really recovered not only from her daughter dissapearance but from jugement of people who's convinced she and her husband James had something to do with it.The truth was much worse,and Bella really was the one that didn't deserve it,yet she's the one who paid the price of trusting people who didn't want what the best for her.Tension filled read,twists that shock to the core and the ending that left me more scared for some characters than the others.My second book by this author and she just show's me again that a family didn't nessesary have the best interest in their mind for you.
A suspenseful thriller with surprising twists,would recommend.

What a gripping read!
I was hooked from the beginning until the end!
At the end of every chapter I needed to read more! This book had my full attention for sure! I was excited to read more when I had free time.
Bella a lovely kind woman sadly couldn’t have children with her partner James after sometime trying. One day she had the call to take on twins to adopt. It happened so quickly but they were over the moon with the twin babies.
One evening Bella went out with her work colleagues (she hadn’t been out in ages) and she had the dreaded news of one of the twins missing at home whilst James was looking after them.
Police were called. No break in evidence. No trails what so ever.
For 14 years Bella thought about the twin that went missing whilst making great memories with the other twin (skyla).
Until one day, skylah turned up with a school friend at their home. Bella saw some resemblances, the similarities of age, scar the list continued.
She thought it couldn’t be her! She must be wrong after all these years! Or is she?

With no clear motive or suspects, they are forced to move on, navigating family life with the realisation that something horrific may have happened to their daughter, while being consumed by grief, blame and uncertainty for the future.
Fourteen years after the abduction, their daughter Skyla makes a new friend - who has an uncanny resemblance to their daughter Robin - and of course to Skyla herself. What follows is a tense rollercoaster of emotions as I tried to determine if ‘Raven’ is who she says she is, or if she really is their long lost daughter. The whole premise of this story is captivating. As a mother myself, I have no idea how I’d feel and I could empathise with Bella and the turmoil she felt. She wrestled with her feelings of longing for her daughter, while suspecting that there was something sinister going on with Robin and her intentions.
This was an action packed thriller that hit every one of my emotions along the way, and I did not see the twist coming. A truly remarkable piece of writing from Jade

The twists just kept coming, and the final third was especially addictive—I kept thinking surely that’s it? only for another jaw-dropping moment to land.
One of the standout characters was Isabella. She was written so brilliantly that she came across as completely unhinged, and every scene she appeared in had me questioning what she was going to do next. She added such an unsettling atmosphere that made it impossible to relax while reading.
This is one of those psychological thrillers that keeps raising the stakes rather than relying on a single big twist. If you enjoy family secrets, unreliable characters and a story that constantly keeps you guessing, this is definitely worth picking up.

3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️. This one started off pretty good but then it gradually faded off for me. I think alot of it has to do with Bella’s character. It was hard to like her and feel bad for her when she just continued to let things happen because she didn’t want to upset her teenage daughter (Skyla)…so dumb! In real life, parents do upset teenagers and don’t just give into everything they want just so they aren’t mad at you. 🙄. Also the “twists”, while some of them were good ones, there were just too many thrown in at the end. Finally, I will never give a book a high rating if there’s animal abuse…sorry but not sorry. Spoiler alert - the dog ended up being fine but I still hated that it was included in the book. Overall, I sadly was not impressed with this one.

This started out interesting enough but got more ridiculous as the story went on and the ending was just weird. I think I've decided that I need to go into books just for the pure entertainment of it and not for anything that is remotely plausible or with characters that do things that make sense so that I will enjoy them more. I know these books are fiction but I get more frustrated when they are ridiculous when really are meant to be for entertainment. This was free and short and again if you don't want reality, it is a good enough story.

I found this book very frustrating. The main character, Bella, has never recovered from the loss of one of her adopted twin sisters. The context is poorly explored, but described in terms of trolling exposure from those who think that the couple are somehow complicit or involved in the disappearance of Robin.
The book details Bella's inner thoughts that fuel her rather poor life choices, without which there would be no story as anyone making reasonable decisions would avoid the ensuing chaos. Bella was infertile and started a self help group for people similarly affected. The members are very supportive, as are her work colleagues, but she avoids their advice, or if it is given she ignores it, she goes out of her way to distance herself from those who might help, and she indulges in actions that are potentially harmful.
The three supporting characters are her husband, James, the remaining twin, Skyla, and the intrusive femme fatale, Raven, whose characteristics cast her as potentially Robin returned, but in a malevolent form.
These characters are all weak. James seems to have no personality at all, and while helpful and supportive doesn't seem to have a life. Skyla is cast as a goody-two-shoes highly intelligent, sheltered and unimaginative school girl, whose interest in arts and history is mentioned very superficially. Raven is a villain from the start, as you know from the book description, but her personality and background is concealed, partly because the storyline requires that, and partly because she has no function other than to fuel the psychological stress.
I couldn't read more than a chapter or two at a time because it just was not that gripping, and because the life behaviours of the characters make you want to give Bella a good slap every 5 minutes.
So, if joining in the rumination of grieved individuals with hopeless coping skills, this is the book for you. I would have given it one star if I was unable to finish the book.

This did not work for me. The plot was good but it wasn’t executed well.
A couple Bella and James were suffering with infertility adopts twin baby girls, Robin and Scarlet.
While the wife is at a Christmas party, Robin goes missing.
14 years later Scarlet has a new friend, one that looks unmistakable like her. Is it Robin?
Very long and drug out story short;
When the bio mom (Gabbie, who use to work with Bella) put the twins up for adoption, the James ‘s sister is their adoption agent who places the twins with them.
James had an affair with the twins bio mother after Robin goes missing resulting in a daughter (Raven), who is the Stellas twins 1/2 sister. (10 months apart)
The male detective on the case of the missing twin, is in fact the twins bio dad.
So;
James gave Robin back to Gabbie because she blackmailed him into it.
Baby Robin choked on a grape and died, not long after being paced back into Gabbie’s care.

This was one of those thrillers that immediately hooks you with the premise alone. The opening chapters kept me invested. The tension surrounding the kidnapping, the emotional devastation within the family, and the uncertainty surrounding the missing child made it incredibly difficult to stop reading. Jade Lee Wright really knows how to create suspense in a way that keeps you constantly turning pages, “just one more chapter” .........🤪
What I especially enjoyed was how the story played with paranoia and uncertainty. I genuinely couldn’t decide whether Bella was a fully reliable narrator or if her grief and desperation were clouding her judgment, and that added such an effective psychological edge to the story. Every interaction started to feel unsettling, every character became suspicious, and I kept second-guessing my own theories.
The atmosphere throughout the middle portion of the book becomes increasingly eerie and uncomfortable in the best way. Raven’s presence, in particular, creates a constant tension because something about her never feels entirely right. I actually found myself dreading certain scenes involving her because of how frustrating and unsettling her behavior became, which I do think was intentional on the author’s part.
While the first half absolutely flew by, the momentum slowed down around the middle, and I found myself less emotionally invested than I initially was. A lot of the side characters became increasingly frustrating, and by the end, I honestly wanted to throw half of them into therapy and the other half into the ocean. The family dynamics felt messy, tense, and emotionally exhausting at times, though again, I think that was largely intentional.
The ending is where my feelings became the most mixed. On one hand, I appreciated how twist-heavy and dramatic it was, and there were definitely reveals that surprised me. On the other hand, it started tipping slightly into “okay… this is getting a little absurd” territory. It became very much a but wait, there’s MORE kind of ending, where every new reveal kept escalating the chaos. As someone who loves true crime and psychological thrillers, I know situations like this can happen, but I still think one or two fewer twists would have made the ending feel stronger and more believable.
I also wished there had been slightly more emotional growth from certain characters by the conclusion. Still, despite my issues with the second half, this was undeniably addictive. The premise is fantastic, the suspense is strong, and Jade Lee Wright’s writing style makes the book incredibly easy to binge-read. Even though the ending didn’t fully stick the landing for me personally, I still had a genuinely entertaining time reading it and would absolutely pick up another book by this author.
My Perspective :
If you enjoy family-centered psychological thrillers filled with secrets, unreliable perspectives, disturbing twists, emotional tension, and a growing sense of dread, this is definitely worth adding to your TBR.
