A brilliant insight into the club's recovery from what felt like never ending crisis. There are one or two people in here that come across poorly but it is clear Couhig and co have the best interests of the club at heart. It was good to have a unique view of them attempting to put the pieces back together. I hope in 10 years time we look back on this book as a window into a massive turning point in the club's trajectory.
Great insight into Couhig’s take over of the club, including good a good reminder of the state the club was in a year ago.
Book is written for both American and British audiences with explanations for each where context may be required without overdoing it (such as baseball/American football references Couhig makes). The American/British divide a theme throughout the book as the American optimism doesn’t necessarily align with the feelings of English fans…
Appreciate reading about the author getting to know the local area and the fans, even if some said fans were ones I blocked long ago on twitter 😂.
