Stop Caring What Others Think: How to Stop Worrying About What People Think of You

Rate this book
Do you constantly find yourself worrying about how other people see you? In this book, life coach James Umber asks the question “Why do we let other people’s opinions have so much power and control over us?”
He will not only tell you an incredibly simple and hugely effective tip that you can implement from day one, he also looks at the reasoning hidden behind our thought processes.
Whether you admit it or not most of your day to day decisions probably aren’t based on what you truly want, they are based on how you think those decisions will make you look to other people. We all do it to some extent.
Some people will feel such a burden to please others that they will actually make decisions that are detrimental to themselves, just to improve other people’s opinions of them. They may feel like by saying no they will seem like a bad person and that someone’s opinion of them may be lowered due to this.
The information that you will receive in this short book will not only enable you to live a far more care free, happy existence but it will also set you firmly back on the path to achieving the success that you truly want and deserve out of your life.

"By overly concerning yourself with someone else’s opinion, you’re letting a figment of someone’s imagination control your actions and your emotions."

I needed that!

Some good information

I’ve been doing therapy for almost two years. This book goes over the topic of people pleasing well. This book is a good springboard for further study.

Reasonably interesting

I found the book to be reasonably interesting I informative. It was almost like the words your best friend would tell you if you're feeling down or insecure about what other people were thinking you other than that an ok read.

Very basic and not informative for anyone who has done any previous or intensive self help work or therapy. Perhaps good for someone who has no experience with trying to improve themselves. Only took 20 minutes to read - how much could you possibly learn in 20 minutes?

No content. Very bad book

I don’t think we can call this a book. Very poorly written and no real content, some few examples and a poor suggestion on how to change one’s mind.
