This was recommended by a friend and erm best rec ever ?

Absolutely loved this book! I’m not usually a huge fan of love triangles but this one was done exceptionally well🫶🏼 the FMC was so likeable and being able to follow on with her journey that is more about her and her sense of identity made me like her more – because the romance was more of a subplot it made the story so engaging! The world building and descriptions were so immersive and was so easy to follow along. I loved the different kingdoms and what they represented!

Can we just talk about the MMCs?? Because wow. 😍😍😍 Adrian was my favourite oh my goodness! So lovable, so gentle just so perfect! And then we have Kairon.. I’m not a shadow daddy fan but this man?? PERFECTION. He’s so irritating at times but the way he cares for Velora and the things he does just makes me want to go inside the book and give him a hug😭 I wanted more of him but I know the author has been teasing his pov in the next book so I can’t bloody wait to see more of him !!!

Not sure if this is a spoiler but velora picking adrian is definitely the start of something bigger. And as much as i love adrian, i fear the reason why velora chose him was because kairon left 😭 if he didnt keep pushing her away and wasnt so afraid of admitting his feelings she would’ve stopped him from leaving but idk😭 will have to see. I just love them all hahaha!

The tension, the yearning, the angst! EVERYTHING WAS JUST GORGEOUS! The trials reminded me a little of “The Selection” and thats one of my fave series so it worked so well.

Beautiful story and for a debut, this author smashed it. Cant wait to see more in this series and to see more kairon. I’m missing him already and it’s only been a few days hahah lol.

A five star read for me! 🫶🏼

Loved every minute of Tale of Crowns! ✨📖 I was completely immersed in this new world of magic, kingdoms, romance, and adventure. Kairon and Adrian are such fascinating brothers, and I loved how they each had me falling for them in completely different ways! ❤️

The story developed beautifully, keeping me excited and wanting to know what would happen next. I absolutely loved the characters, the world-building, and all the twists and turns along the way.

Thank you, T. Sultana, for such an amazing read! I’m already so excited for Book 2 and can’t wait to see where this incredible new world takes us next. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Velora accepted an invitation to go to the royal island and compete in the trials for the chance to become a royal bride, that's what she was meant to be doing anyway... However Velora had her own reasons for venturing overseas, she needed answers, answers to so many questions, she was on her own self-discovery mission, to come and seek out truths that have been kept from her all while playing along in the trials & pretending to be there for love.
She did, however, find herself caught between two Shadow Prince brothers, both very different but both perfect for her in opposite ways.

The YEARNING?!

I have my favourite😏👀, but I don't think I could actually choose
between the two & that is ultimately what Velora will have to do.

Love one and let one go.

This is quite possibly one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. Each page had me fully immersed in the world.
Everything was so vividly described that it felt like a movie playing in my head as I read.
The world building was never overwhelming; it was perfectly balanced. Descriptions were woven in exactly when they were needed.

The relationship with her mother, deeply resonated with me and the relationship I have with my own mother. Just 7% in, I already had tears in my eyes thinking of my own mum & don't even get me started about the end of this.
Writing raw emotions that hit so deeply & leave an impact is something so amazing.

I actually teared up a few times during this story but we won’t go into that right now.

The trials I wish were longer, they were so unique and unlike anything I have read, I love high stakes and heightened emotions and these trials were so fascinating & could have been prolonged in my opinion, although enough was written for me to enjoy them regardless.. I’m just a thrill seeker. 🤭

To be able to write something so captivatingly beautiful, you deserve this girl 👑.
When I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about it, nonstop.
I am so grateful that you chose me to be one of your arc readers, to be able to experience this before the rest of the world. 🥹
I can’t wait to come back into this world & see what happens next.
Without a doubt, 5 stars. 🩵

I LOVE this book, and honestly that might even be an understatement. I found myself so hooked that I had to double-check whether it was a standalone or part of a series because at almost 70% through, I was starting to panic about leaving these characters behind! Thankfully, it’s part of a series, so I’ll be eagerly waiting for more. 😊

I was completely drawn in from the beginning and already coming up with theories. The way T. Sultana writes is so elegant and intriguing, which makes the story smooth and easy to follow. It truly felt like I was right there with the characters, and some of the scent descriptions may or may not have made me wish I had a candle for those combos! 🤣

Be prepared to feel ALL the emotions. I was giggling, kicking my feet, side-eyeing, and even ugly crying. It’s a rollercoaster, and I loved every minute of it.

For those who enjoy both spice and clean scenes, I want to mention that this leans more toward YA and is clean. As a reader who appreciates both, I didn’t miss the spice because the tension and yearning between characters were so well done! So if you’re on the fence about that, don’t worry too much.

Overall, this is a fantastic read, and I can’t wait to see what T. Sultana writes next! So grateful to have been an ARC reader and have the chance to enter this world. 🌊

I really enjoyed the premise and world building in this book! The descriptions were vivid and added to the majesty of the story. I enjoyed the different courts although personally I'd have liked a little more time in each to build a better picture of their differences. But the quick pace made it an absorbing read.

I enjoyed the trials but with some it felt a little bit like it didn't matter if you won or lost. A little more detail around the results would have been great just to understand how the girls advanced.

The love triangle was brilliant! Velora made for a tough but likeable FMC. I enjoyed that the relationship between her and the girls built alongside the boys. It wasn't a classic 'give it all up for love' type story which was great!

Towards the end I found it a tiny bit repetitive. Instead of a world shattering conclusion it felt like several mini moments that lost a little bit of impact.

Overall a great read! Very grateful to have had the chance to enjoy this mystical world.

"Gods. That tastes like shipwreck and bitter regret."

"I loved the world building, it's such a unique concept, a Royal Island, magic, trials and high stacks for a crown, and Velora is the missing piece, if you like love triangles between brothers then this is for you, I would of liked more character depth from Kairon, but I assume we'll find out more about him in book two so I'm not to worried, it was intense and full of secrets and love and heartbreak, I'm so ready for book two and what it has in store, that cliffhanger was unfair. There were some moments where the characters frustrated me I was screaming at them to make different choices but in the end it all worked out, it's definitely a good read and I'm thankful that I got the chance to read it early!"

A why choose (they are brothers!!), with shadow princes, lost family, powerful kingdoms and all the tension!

Books like this remind me why I go back to romantasy.

Velora is a bad ass FMC and 2 very different but intoxicating MMCs 🥵
Karion the one who hides in the shadows but would burn the world for her.
Adrian, the future king and the gentleman who loves her.
Ughhh why choose, have both 👀

The fact this Arc included a teaser for book 2!!!! 🤯 I need book 2 now…I need to jump back in and binge the full series!

My favourite quotes:
“My shadows bend to no one,” he murmured against her skin. “Not to crowns, and certainly not to kings. But when your light touches me…I would follow it anywhere. Even if it destroys me.”

“My little dreamer”

The prose and descriptions are so elegant and appealing. The world building was vibrant and easy to get to grips with, the love triangle was fun, and the characters were likable. The FMC went through periods of frustrating irrationality, balanced by one of her love interests which created an entertaining tension. Some parts felt repetitive, and I thought the "why" and the choices behind certain events could have been more developed and explained, but maybe that's to be contextualised in future books. Either way, it was a fun, beautiful read and I look forward to reading more from this author.

An interesting and fast paced story of secret islands and a competition to be the bride of a prince.

Overall this was a quick and enjoyable read. I did find some aspects slightly repetitive and the ending a bit rushed.

The plot was interesting, with plenty of mysteries to uncover within the story. I love trials and that definitely helped with keeping the pace going and they were fun to read about.

I really enjoyed this book! Velora is a great FMC and her journey is addictive. Her personal growth is so lovely to read and don't get me started on the descriptions! They were beautiful! I can't wait for book 2! I have a theory or two and the snippets we get at the end just have me craving book 2 even more!

Slow start, but I cannot fault the character development & the world building really resonated, to point I felt like I was one of the girls on trial at the royal island
