With Imogene "Im" Lynch's wedding only weeks away, her friends decide to throw a bachelorette party in the wine country of Southern California. The house's rather creepy vibes are matched by the dead man in the pool. And when you add in Im's nemesis, a death cult called The Lazerites, it all begins to look like an unpromising start to wedded bliss.

Each time I read a "Mortician Murders" book, I proclaim it to be even better than the previous one, and Dreadlocked is no exception. This story, I cannot begin to sing its praises as no accolades would be worthy. I'm not exaggerating. Though, sadly, the story is the finale to the series, it is the grand prize, tying together all the elements of the earlier books.

Without giving anything away, I was super stoked to see a mention of my most favourite ghost in the series, and there are plenty of Easter eggs if you look for them. But mostly, the action was nail-biting (apologies to my manicure), and the characters' warmth flowed. Expect to see your heart's desire and even more.

What a fabulous wrap-up to an exceptional set of mysteries. I highly recommend both the series and Dreadlocked in particular. A smashing read.

Thank you to Greta Boris for the chance to read this digital ARC. As always, my opinions are my own, honest and true.

A fairytale happy ending…

Even though I began this book knowing that this story was the last one planned for the series, I was sad to read the final page. Don’t get me wrong, it was a fairytale happy ending (thank goodness—Imogene and El certainly deserved it), but this has been such a wonderful series to escape into that I will truly miss it. The characters have become friends (except for the Lazerites, of course), and each story fully captured my imagination, providing me with hours of top-notch entertainment. It has been a grand journey, indeed, but I guess we must bid farewell to our intrepid rockabilly, swing-dancing mortician and her handsome newly minted deputy partner in both life and crime-solving. Without giving anything away, I will say that Imogene's final showdown with Conrad Schrader and his band of evil Lazerite followers in an abandoned ghost town in the desert made for a nail-biting adventure. I will miss all the characters, their quirks, their charm, and their talent for finding trouble, but on the bright side, I can always start over and read the books again.

I have absolutely adored this series and it's going to be hard to say goodbye to Imogene and all the other wonderful characters.

With only a few weeks to go before Im and El get married, the girls have organised a bachelorette party for Im and in true Imogene style, things don't go according to plan,
A fantastic day of wine tasting, a beautiful location, a stunning villa , oh I nearly forgot to mention a dead body in the pool!

This final story in the series has Imogene being haunted by a guy that absolutely loves hot sauce, and knows a thing or two about building problems, go figure.

But as the wedding nears closer Imogene needs to solve this murder fast.

With a showdown with Conrad Schrader the head of the Lazerites can Imogene survive this final battle?

A brilliant way to end the series, I've thoroughly enjoyed every single book.

Thank you Greta for allowing me early copies to read for my honest feedback and for giving the readers a fantastic series.

The final and 9th book in the Morticians Murders series and it is a really good ending to Imogene's story. Finally Imogene and El are getting married, hopefully without incident. Her friends decided that giving her a bachelorette party a fun time. But of course that is not to be since there was a dead man floating in the pool and when Imogene touched his hair Julio's ghost latched onto her and it wasn't just the case of an hitchhiker falling into a pool. Imogene is once again facing the evil Conrad Schrader, her nemesis with the Lazerite cult are once again trying to meet his evil intent. Imogene ends up having to face him and end him once and for all and then get back to her wedding. Can she? This was a really great addition to the series and a fitting ending. Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I also highly recommend the entire series! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Dreadlocked - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Assistant mortician Imogene has to use all her special abilities to find a killer in Greta Boris's

Dreadlocked, after she finds Julio Torres, (with his eponymous hairstyle) dead in the pool at a mayor's gala. She's in the midst of organising her fast-approaching nuptials with friends and family...but is now haunted by Julio too.
The trail to the killer is long and twisty, but (despite having her wedding-dress stolen from her grandmother's care), all is eventually revealed and the evil Lazarites are vanquished - hopefully for good this time - and Imogene and El finally get their Big Day and hopefully an uninterrupted honeymoon.

Fantastic characters, an engaging storyline and an HEA...what more could you wish for? Grab your copy of Dreadlocked right now!

Poor Imogene. She just can't catch a break from ghost hauntings - even at her own bachelorette party. This ghost comes with a side of hot sauce, so of course, Imogene now has an unquenchable "thirst" for hot food. But that's not all. She is inexplicably drawn to a ghost town in the Mojave Desert where things take a turn for the worse. Conrad Schrader has ties to the town and he has an evil plan that involves Im.

Will Imogene be able to solve the mystery before she gets caught up in something that will change her life forever? Will she be able to get rid of this latest ghost before her wedding? This is the last book in the series - and we want to know how everything ends!

Another amusing and entertaining adventure of 'magnetic' Imogen who communes with the dead via their hair together with her usual cast from the mortuary, family and friends. Even getting away with friends for a prewedding 'bash' can't stop her finding a body that leads to more confrontations with the Lazarites, imprisonment and ghosts in a ghost town. Interesting supernatural developments and confrontations as well as theft at the retirement community and developments in her personal life all add to the grist that result in an enjoyable novel well worth reading.

Imogene really knows how to get herself into strife. I was beginning to think she was done for this time. I'm so glad I was wrong.
Dreadlocked puts to rest a huge part of her life, but Imogene is now entering a new phase, with stories of its own. I hope the Author will allow us to continue sharing the quirky, funny, sometimes scary but never dull life of Imogene, and the wonderful people surrounding her.

I have to say that I have loved this series. The only thing bad about this one is it's the last one in the series. Imogene luck isn't always good. At her bachelorette party there is a dead man in the pool. This ghost leads her in conflict with her nemesis Conrad Shrader.

The book is full of twists and turns and like the other books in the series you won't know what the ending is till you get there. I think you will want to read the whole series and this is a series that you will want to read again. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Imogene is getting ready for her wedding to El when of course something happens to derail her progress for a bit. There was a house/castle booked for her bachelorette party and Imogene goes out back in the middle of the night to see if the pool is heated or not and finds a body. She pulls the guy out and does CPR and that sets off the touching of the hair and gives her Julio's memories. It goes worse when the Lazerites are doing some of the evil deeds in the desert close to where the girls where staying. Great story and a fun read!
I received an arc and this is my review.

I was sorry to learn this is Imogene's final case, but what a wonderful way to complete the series. The author expertly weaves together various themes including a wedding shower, a wedding, a cult, a dead body, a ghost town, and the extraordinary possession of multiple spirits within one person into a captivating and unforgettable story. From beginning to end, I relished every word. Without a doubt, this is my favorite book in the series. Here's wishing Imogene and El a lifetime of happiness together!

a fast, tightly written suspense novel that blends beauty-industry glamour with a creeping sense of danger. Boris keeps the tension high as the story follows a woman whose seemingly perfect life starts to unravel after a disturbing encounter. The pacing is brisk, the stakes escalate cleanly, and the psychological unease builds without ever tipping into gore or shock tactics. It’s an engaging, accessible thriller that delivers atmosphere, intrigue, and a satisfying sense of dread without revealing its twists.

Imogene is is having a getaway with the girls in her wedding party when she discovers a body in the pool.  Hopeful that is was an accidental drowning and fearful that it was not.  Of course it is not and now her mouth is on fire thanks to dead hot sauce loving Julio.  This begins a wild ride for Imogene as she races to solve the murder before her wedding.  It looks like this could be the end of Imogene's adventures, I sure hope not.

This is Greta Boris’s best book yet! Those Lazerites aren’t finished with Imogene, creating havoc as she tries to prepare for her upcoming wedding. Trying to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys, honor her promise to stay out of a murder investigating while jumping in with both feet, deal with a ghost with a craving for super hot sauce, all while keeping up with her work schedule, all keep her running. It’s a hard book to put down, so be sure to clear your schedule before starting it!

Dreadlocked: A Ghostly Mortician Murder (The Mortician Murders Book 9), my twenty-ninth read from author Greta Boris. Another enjoyable, well-written cozy/ghost mystery, the final book in the Mortician Murders. “I received a complimentary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and to seeing what she dips in her inkwell next. RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

I love this series of books and I really enjoyed this book! I was excited to read this book but I am going to miss not having any more of Imogene’s adventures to read about and enjoy. It’s really interesting how she can pick up on the feelings of the deceased through their hair.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to receive an advance copy of this book! Totally recommend this book and the entire series of these books!

Imogene is horrified to find a dead man at her bachelorette party. After touching his hair, she gets a craving for spicy food. Is it because the man is murdered and is haunting her? Imogene finds out that he was connected to a cult called the Lazerites who conduct weird rituals on dead people to bring them back to life. An entertaining read with zany characters especially the cult leader who tries to bring his ancestor back to life much to his detriment. I like the descriptive subtitles.

thrilling finale to the series. loved the whole series. I am going to miss Imogene and all her adventures, but this book, the last in the series is a fitting end. I might have to re-read them all again. As always, just when all seems to be going well, fate intervenes and Imogene and her supernatural talents are back in use causing her mayhem, and placing her life at risk. delighted with the outcome and the excitement along the way. Excellent book. Loved it

So, with much weeping and wailing we reach the end of Imogene’s story. I honestly did not think it would be yet, but how things have transpired it makes sense. I loved it as I have the rest of the series. Now I wait with bated breath to see what this great author will produce next. Highly recommended.

When I started reading this series, I was skeptical. Morticians, ghosts? Not always my cup of tea. But I have been plesantly surprised. I have enjoyed every book in this series. Funny, serious, scary-This series has it all. This book wraps it all up nicely. Only problem was I didn’t want it to end. Greta, any
chance you can keep Imogene “alive” for us?

I have enjoyed every single book in this series and am sorry that it is over, but I look forward to the next thing Greta Boris writes!

Imogene’s wedding is fast approaching and her friends throw her a bachelorette party. Unfortunately, it’s at a creepy house with a dead body in the pool. Can Imogene solve the murder in the pool before her wedding? An enjoyable ending to the series, wrapping up all the story lines.

This series was ready to come to an end. The paranormal aspects of it became a bit too much for me. The mortician aspects of these books has been very interesting. This book's emphasis on wedding preparations was a buzz kill.
