Definitely an entertaining and much-longed-for update on Targen and Theory. After their year apart, Targen came back for Theory full force, but she wasn’t hearing any of it. Her guard was up and her walls were built high. But Targen didn’t just tell her how much she meant to him, he showed her. And even though her stubbornness won for a large majority of the book, in the grand scheme of timelines she really only held out for a couple of weeks before she was “my man, my man, my man.” 😆

I enjoyed watching the way Targen loved on her. Nothing about him said gentle, but that’s truly how he handled her…as if she were the most precious of jewels. I appreciated that at some point Theory recognized that reciprocity was important and began loving him out loud as well.

The comedic relief in this book may have surpassed the romance for me. Juvie and Mikhail had me cackling every time they were together. If the author continues the series, I hope we see more of them. I also feel like she left plenty of breadcrumbs for future stories (Juvie and Calenthe, Epiphany and Jagger, Maxim and Seraph, just to name a few).

With that said, while I enjoyed the action we got, some of the Russian mafia storyline felt a little anticlimactic. Overall though, this was still a really good read.

wait for me

I have been patiently waiting for this release and when in dropped I quickly picked it up and got to reading. I had some much curiosity about what was in store for Target and Theory. That girl was hurt hurt by him disappearing like that and she put up the highest wall… but my guy chopped away at it. He was patient and a boss. I’m hoping the all the ladies get a book bc I’m kinda wondering about Juvie and Breaden.. over all nice story.. a little long but entertaining.

I have to put you on before I combust.

I’ll admit, I’ve been riding with elle kayson a long time now and I’ve read all of her books. While Demon's Dream is still the one that lives in my chest, trust me when I say Reclaiming Love reached in and got me somewhere I wasn't braced for?! Baby! If these Emancipation folks already feel like your people then go ahead and clear your weekend now. This the one!

I ain’t about to spoil nothing, just let me shape it for you! Theory is a writer and a survivor. She's been hurt more than once, and she did the slow, ugly work of putting herself back together. So by the time we catch up with her, her guard is all the way up and she earned every inch of it. Then here come Targen, the man who vanished on her with no word — a whole year of nothing. Can we all relate or is it just me?! What had me messed up was the why. You just gotta read that part because I can’t even explain it!

What also took me out was the promises. Early on, she lets him know she's been keeping a tally of every promise he ever made to her, and elle pays them back so slow and so deliberate that I felt it in my body. That's her whole gift — she'll build a man the entire city is scared of, then let one woman turn him soft, and he never loses a drop of that badness doing it. You find yourself rooting for him too! If Demon did something to you, brace yourself, because Targen will finish the job. Same DNA. Different flavor of devastating.

Now don’t get it twisted, Theory is nobody's helpless little thing. She'll pop off at a kingpin. She'll square up with a man who could end her and dare him to try it. Sharp tongue, quick mind, scared sometimes but never small — she carries this whole thing on her back. You get both sides, his and hers, plus a couple chapters that'll have you yelling at your phone. Watching her make that man earn his way back one inch at a time, while he just keeps showing up? I gave up sleep I didn't have to spare.

And don't get me STARTED on the brother. The side story brewing back there?? Baby, I’m already unwell about the next book and it's not even out yet.

It's tender, dark, and gut-wrenching all at the same damn time! I’m not okay. somebody read it so we can be not-okay together!

From the moment Theory and Targen's story began unfolding in the first book, I knew their journey was going to be special. Thankfully, Elle Kayson delivered in a big way. Targen absolutely stole the show, bringing the perfect blend of strength, devotion, and determination that made it impossible not to root for him. The combination of Bratva influences and country living created a unique backdrop that added so much charm and intrigue to the story.

One of my favorite aspects of this book was Theory. She had every reason to be guarded, but her reactions felt authentic and balanced. She held people accountable where accountability belonged, which made her character feel mature, relatable, and refreshingly realistic. The emotional growth between these two characters kept me fully invested from beginning to end.

This story is packed with twists, surprises, and emotional moments that kept me turning pages late into the night until my eyes couldn't take it anymore. Once I started, putting it down simply wasn't an option. It also became clear why the author began laying the foundation for this romance earlier in the series the payoff was absolutely worth the wait.

As someone who loves interconnected worlds, I found myself paying close attention to the familiar names and connections sprinkled throughout the story. Whether those threads lead exactly where I think they do or not, I love the feeling of stepping back into a world that continues to grow with each book.

If you're a fan of second chance romances, emotionally layered characters, family dynamics, suspense, and a hero willing to do whatever it takes for love, Reclaiming Love deserves a spot on your TBR.

And now, like every good series addict, I'm already wondering whose turn is it for love. I'm hoping it's Pip but the next choice isn't as obvious to me this time, due to all the parts still moving in the back ground.

What happens when the person who hurt you the most is also the one willing to risk everything for you?

If you enjoy a good mafia romance with high emotional stakes, fierce loyalty, and a hero who will stop at nothing for his woman, Reclaiming Love is one you'll want to add to your TBR.

I loved the push and pull between Theory and Targen! I mean, come on Targen, you disappeared for an entire year and then showed up out of nowhere expecting to pick up where things left off? No sir!

One of my favorite things about this story was that even though she still love him, Theory didn't make it easy for him. Watching these two navigate old wounds while facing new challenges delivered everything I want from a mafia romance. The emotional tension, the devotion, and the suspense kept me locked in from beginning to end.

Whether you're already a fan of the series or picking it up for the first time, this standalone proves that sometimes the hardest battles aren't fought against outside enemies—they're fought against the walls built by heartbreak.

✨ Tropes:
• Mafia Romance
• Protective/Obsessive Hero
• He Don't Play About Her
• Guarded Heroine
• Forced Proximity
• Second Chance Romance

First, let me just say Reclaiming Love was definitely worth the wait! We first meet Theory and Targen in Real’s Love. I quickly fell in love with them and was so excited to read their story.

Elle perfectly (in my opinion) crafted a wonderful story of two complex souls finding their way to love. Theory Grace Miller has been hurt and broken beyond what words could describe, and Targen Jone-Sudorov was the perfect man willing to put her back together again.

Targen was intentional about learning who Theory was and becoming the man she deserved. His patience with her was unmatched because, boy, did Theory make him work for it lol.

I love that Targen’s main focus was always to protect Theory, even when she was too stuck in her own mind to realize it.

But don’t get me wrong, Theory helped Targen understand that he was not the monster people think of when they mention his name. He was a loving, patient, and unhinged man waiting for someone like Theory to see beyond the scars.

I truly enjoyed the book and am so ready for Maxim’s novella! Something tells me he’s got plenty to tell.

Well done, Elle!

Targen Is That Guy

It took me a while to get into it but immediately liked Targen's character. He never swayed or lied to Theory. He may have omitted a thing or two but he didn't want her to run as she was never on board to marrying him. Everyone knew, including her that he'd give his life for hers.
Theory is stubborn as hell with a mouth and a half. My kind of girl. It's just it was misdirected on Targen. Understanding she'd suffered some very traumatic damage, I was just glad when she gave Targen the chance to prove himself. I even loved how she had a bit of sickness and gangsta spark as well when she set the coffee shop scene up. The enemy just knew he had her but she and Pia and behind the scenes Targen shut it all down. Oh he told her don't do it again, but she had to remind them she was A Miller before a Sidorov.
I love how they, together loved on the other. Just sorry it too so long. Maybe hilarious Juvie and smarty Pia can hook up.

3.5⭐️

Read Real’s Love 1st b4 this book, you’ll have an easier transition and better reading experience.

I love Elle Kayson, I’ll start there! But I needed more from this book.

Idk if it’s been so long since I read Real’s Love that I forgot so much and I don’t think there was enough “refresher” information to make the transition to this book. There are 2 Emancipation Books before this one that had nothing to do with the drama with Theory/Targen. So yeah, I forgot ALOT!

Theory worked my nerves being difficult; but I guess I get it! Targen definitely was not letting her get away.

The book felt very unfinished; but not with a cliffhanger; but more of whatabouts…what about Pip/Jagger, Juvie and (I can’t remember the teenage loves name), Targen’s brother and his baby/baby mama. Yeah…

Editing needs to be tightened up.

It’s always a joy going back to Emancipation, Louisiana and visiting the family. I’m so glad we got Targen and Theory’s story! Life was lifing real hard for them but I loved watching them come back to each other ❤️ Theory irritated my soul at some points 😩 I do understand where she’s coming from but her folding was inevitable lol. The way Target kept showing up and showing his love with his actions as well as his words! Absolute perfection. He came through with the love, humor, and a little psychopathy on the side 😂

Juvie is my favorite character at this point 😂 he cracks me up every time! I really hope we get his story too. And Pip’s! I want to know what’s going on with her and that man 👀 And throw Maxim on the list cuz I need that too.

This was such an anticipated read for me since Targen and Theory were introduced in Real's Love. While it didn't blow me away, it was still a solid, enjoyable continuation of their story.
Seeing their dynamic after a full year apart was such a good read. Theory's guardedness made total sense given everything she'd been through, and I appreciated that the story didn't rush her past that. Targen, on the other hand, came in full force; all action, no hesitation, making it crystal clear he wasn't going anywhere this time. Forever was the goal, and he made sure she knew it.
Overall, a solid, satisfying read. Now I'm hoping we get books for the other characters we've met along the way. There's clearly more story left to tell in this world

Amazing

This book was amazing. Targen and Theory were a great couple. I love how Targen was willing to do what he had to do to get Theory back. I hate that she had to go through so much to get her true love. I love how her family was there for her and Targen. Target knew he was in when family looked out for you.
There were so many secrets and plot twists. It had me turning the pages. I couldn't put the book down. I loved how it flowed, and plots were unveiled.
Marriage, Love, War, Forgiveness, and Kidnapping
I tell Elle that the pen game is out of this world.
I recommend you go read the book, write a review, and tell family and friends.

Targen is a patient king!

This was such a beautiful book. I love an intentional MMC and that is Targen. I fear he may have snagged my number one MMC spot. When a woman prays for a patient man, she has to be praying for a man like Targen. There were sooo many things that I did not see coming. I was happy to see Real and Em. But this world that Elle Kayson has created in Emancipation makes me feel like these are my cousins. I’m just waiting to tell my story to get my rich husband. This was an amazing read!!

Targen and Theory was a ride. I had different expectations honestly but I still enjoyed this story. I was a little over the run. Theory had the right to feel how she felt but she wanted this man. He told her he would be back his friend told her he couldn’t “right now”. Then when he did she put up a mean ass right. I honestly started getting bored but I’m glad it eventually took a turn. The Russian mafia story line was something I didn’t know I needed.

I enjoyed Theory and Targen’s story so much in Real’s Love that I was stalking Elle’s social for the release of this book, and it wasn’t what I expected but everything I needed. I knew Targen was a menace but him as a Bratva enforcer was everything. This man basically set up the squid games to defend his lady. Theory deciding that she’d lost enough and needed to take her power back was also unexpected but much needed. I love the way Elle Kayson writes crime families and now I want to dig in a little deeper with the Russian mafia plot because Maxim has a story to tell!

I was waiting on Theory & Targen’s story, and Elle didn’t disappoint. This one was filled with emotion, secrets, and a little mafia chaos. Targen may have been keeping secrets and for good reason but he was so intentional in the way he loved and cared for Theory.

I completely understood Theory’s POV because she was in the dark but baby I was screaming the whole time, that man loves you! 😂 I loved how they loved on each other’s scars. Not your average love story and it was still beautiful.

Theory and Targen stressed me out something serious but whew I loved them even more! Targen is the epitome of’ “touch her and 💀”! Without spoiling it too much, this is a second chance romance (kinda 👀), forced marriage love story about relearning how to love and trust one another! Actually Elle, I’d like a follow up lol! I originally read via patreon but I had to do a full reread of the completed story! Loved it!

Theory and Targen

Their story was not what I would have assumed. However, it was sweet, funny and kept me guessing. I love the strong women. I’m excited to continue getting to the people of and connected to Emancipation. I will say the end of this book hits you quick, it snuck up on me. The gems from other authors and books was very much appreciated and really reminded me how I love the unity within this space.

Reclaiming Love did not disappoint!!!

Targen was exactly what Theory needed. He was her protector, friend, and lover! Theory could really be in her soft era with Targen, but she also showed us don't mess with Louisiana women because we don't play!!

This book was a great read 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!

EVERYONE NEEDS A TARGEN!!! That man loved hard and did not play around with Theory . The fact that both of them were each other’s peace and healing factor had me stuck. This was about second-chance romance, healing, choosing you no matter what you think lol…. I Enjoyed it so much .

His was a good book. I love everything by Elle Kayson.

Targen loved Theory so much. The pain she went through was sad but he loved her through it all. I was hoping she became pregnant in the book. I hope it’s more to this series.

A MUST READ

I was introduced to Targen through another author and I wasn’t to sure that this was going to work. But you did it. You made his story very relatable and very your own. This love story has all the feels . But my favorite character is Juvie’s silly azz.
