The most dangerous thing on Captain Olivia Wallace’s plane is her Italian employer’s new bodyguard. Nathan is just like all the other predators in the deep bush of South Africa: he’s powerfully intense, strikingly gorgeous, and completely lethal.

But Nathan isn’t who he pretends to be and she’s drawn to the decent man she sees inside, the one he claims doesn’t exist. Even as he risks everything he has to save her.

His actions put them on a collision-course with uncontrolled passion, but also dangerous violence, and its impact threatens to destroy so much more than just their lives.

I was very kindly provided with an ARC of Surrender to read and review by the wonderful author, Karyn Lawrence.

While attempting to tie up all the loose ends from his previous missions, CIA man Ethan 'Nathan' Foster ends up directly in the path of pilot and ultimate independent woman, Olivia Wallace, when they both begin working for the same crime family, the Abramos. Attempting to tie together so many dangerous strings and to keep such a stand out woman off of everybodys radars will prove to be his most challenging and life changing assignment to date. Will he find a way to achieve everything he's working so hard to get?

Although this is perfectly readable as a standalone it is also the third book in the Command series and ties so superbly to it's two spectacular predecessors, Stay and Keep, that I urge anyone and everyone to pick up the entire series as a whole. Surrender is the continuation of the story from the previous books but this time centres around Ethan 'Nathan' Foster. Having played rather pivotal but back seat roles when we've met him before had me eagerly anticipating hearing his story and seeing and learning more about this international man of mystery.

The couch was knocked back, banging to the floor as Ethan suddenly stood. Handcuffed and stabbed, yet these men were no match for him. Shit, he was dangerous. Ethan disarmed the guard closest to him in an instant, and the other guard was laid out with the grip of the gun to the face.

At well over six feet tall, built like a house and with a severe no nonsense attitude, Ethan was even more intimidating than the villains of the book. I can't fault him in anyway, he was kick ass, sweet, dangerous, hot, rude .... everything you could ever want in a man. Oh, and also looked amazing in a suit! He was a character written truely to make you fall in love with him and fall I did. His charm and attitude made him such a stand out character as did his determination to always protect the people he's grown to see as friends. His passion for his job, the people he cares about and especially for Olivia were bewitching to read as and is so well written that it just draws you so deeply in to their lives.

The moment Olivia had seen Nathan, something tightened in her chest and her breath went shallow. Not much older than her, maybe thirty-five. He looked tired, like he hadn’t slept during either leg of the flight. Even tired, this man looked dangerous. That gun, those muscles, those furiously intense eyes. Predatory and beautiful.

Olivia was so much more than I hoped she would be. Her back story had so much weight, meaning and perfect execution by Karyn Lawrence, that she became a true heroine to me. This is a woman who has been to literal hell and back and managed to come back from it, in some ways stronger and in some weaker but by god was she ever admirable. Not once did she ever take anything lying down and I loved reading her most harrowing scenes play out, watching as she never looked to anyone but herself for a way to fight back and solve her predicament. She was strong, independent and the kind of fierce that many authors try to embody when writing such a tough as nails female lead, but so very few succeed like this.

"Sit down, we’re taking off.”
He did so, reluctantly. “Do you need me to do something?”
“No. Do nothing. You’re good at that.” The bitter words burned on her tongue, and seemed to sting him as intended.

The whole book played out like a blockbuster movie but also so much more than that. Karyn has a way of writing that makes you love, laugh and cry right along with each and every character, to feel their every pain and joy through every experience they have. I've never known an author to be able to write such three dimensional characters, ones that feel like real life friends by the time you turn the last page and to allow you to form such a connection with them, they feel so identifiable. Just as action packed as Stay and Keep were, this was another pulse pounding, heart stopping read from the first to last word and is leaving me seriously considering taking up drinking to settle my frayed nerves before attempting another novel from Karyn. But this is a series that I have fallen head over heels in love with since the moment I started reading Stay. Each book has been addictive and absolutely spellbinding and still remains my all time number one series and the most read books that I own, with place of pride on my bookshelf. Each time around is always just as exciting as the first when you read them and I'm once again already plotting my rereads!

I can't rave about the Command series or Karyn enough, she's one of the most talented authors around and one of the most amazing women I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I challenge everyone to read this fantastic series and to not fall in love as much as I have!

Surrender by Karyn Lawrence was a great 5 star read.
This is the third book in The Command series and is a stand alone.

Olivia’s boss is a scary and dangerous man. When she meets his bodyguard Nathan, things change for her. There is an instant connection between the two.

We discover that Nathan is actually working undercover and Olivia is becoming quite the distraction that he doesn’t need. However, eventually they can no longer fight the attraction and give in to each other. “Hot”. These two rock the hotness charts and are great together.

This book has dangerous alphas, suspense, drama and romance, I couldn’t put it down.
I was constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next.
Karyn really does a great job with her writing, she pulls you in and won’t let you go. This series gets better with each book. This became a quick favorite of mine. I will definitely be following Karyn Lawrence and look forward to reading more from her.
I suggest you get started on this great series.

Holy hotness, people. This romantic suspense story will hold you captive. Oliva is one bad-ass chick who I would love to have on my side. She’s not exactly sure what to do with the attractive and intense new bodyguard/translator, Nathan, who her bosses have added to her flight list. Olivia’s a personal pilot to some unsavory characters. She’s not interested in their illegal activities, she’s interested in the legal money she is making in her position.

But she can’t fight her attraction to Nathan – even though she doesn’t do relationships. She has, pun intended, too much baggage. And, well, he’s shit at fighting it, too. Nathan’s a CIA operative, working undercover to attempt to dismantle a terrorist group. Olivia is a distraction – an incredibly beautiful, enticing distraction. One that he’s never had before in any other mission.

When they give in to their desires, it’s clear that they’re going to want so much more. I was loving their relationship. It’s not based on a lot of internal drama between them – which is great, because there’s a shit ton of drama that’s surrounding them. Olivia is so very stubborn, but Nathan can see below her mask and he’s determined to find a way to lift it completely.

I loved this story line & the characters. The sex is also fantastic. They were meant to fit together in every.single.way. There are a lot of sweet and romantic moments that made me giddy and smile. These characters are great together.

Danger, suspense, a CIA operation complicated by a an attraction so intense your skin will burn. This book has plot for days and characters with secrets and passion you fall in love with. 4.5 stars!

Whilst this is the 3rd book in this series it is a standalone.

Olivia is a captain/pilot and her new boss is extremely dangerous, when they are in South Africa the spark between her and her boss's bodyguard is really intense, can she keep things professional and is everything really as it appears ?

I loved this book, it has a great setting, some hot and dangerous men, lots of anticipation, thriller, drama, suspense and romance.

This book kept me on my toes, I was drawn in from the start, loved the characters and I was completely captivated throughout the whole book. A great exciting read that I highly recommend reading, I will be looking out for more from this author.

After getting peeks of Ethan in the first two books, I was really excited to read his story. He's been such a mystery and I couldn't wait to learn more about him. I loved that Olivia was so badass and the perfect match for him. I loved these two together. They don't have the usual baggage between them, but there is a whole lot happening around them. He is undercover to break up a terrorist ring and she is smack dab in the middle of it all. I so enjoyed their story.

I give Surrender 4 hearts!

We meet Olivia as she pilots the private jet down in South Africa. She has her boss’ son aboard and his security detail. Nathan doesn’t really want to be there, but he has a job to do and he’ll do it. But Olivia is proving herself quite distracting. There’s more at play here than anyone suspects and he doesn’t want her to get hurt when all kinds breaks loose, because it will break loose.

Going further than that, and I’d be destroying the mystery and suspense in this story. I will say that both Olivia and Nathan have a lot of secrets. I will also say that when the poo hits the fan, it has a far-reaching spatter. I’ve not read the first two books in this series, but I did look at their blurbs, and you meet back up with Laurel and Jason and Shawn and Kara in this book. I will say that some scenes were difficult to read. Some made me squeamish. There’s definitely a chemistry between these two that’s palpable from the page. The truth or lie game….no more need be said…just sayin! Do know that there is no cliffhanger and that this book can be read as a standalone with no need to read the prior books…but due to the nature of Nathan’s secrets…you’ll want to. Just sayin’…just sayin’…

I will say that I liked both Olivia’s and Nathan’s characters. And I ALMOST couldn’t read it. Almost. I have this weird thing that I can’t read romance novels (unless their clean/sweet/YA) with the names Tristan…and now Nathan. The former name being my brothers and the latter being my son’s. What made this doubly hard, she described pretty much what my son will look like when he gets older as far as hair and eye colour and if he looks as much like his dad, all except the height. But I persevered and kept on reading and I’m glad that I did.

Ms. Lawrence is from my neck of the woods…like really. We live around 45 minutes from one another. I’ve never met her, but I would love to. I love her stories. (this isn’t the first of hers that I’d read. I read some under a different name) Her ability to pull a story together from some very unlikely situations and making them seem likely, is really amazing to me, because my brain just doesn’t work that way. So would I recommend...(https://textuallove.wordpress.com/201...) Read the rest of the review behind the link.

Lies, love and danger had me reading this story much too quickly…

This series continues with another roller coaster ride of action, adventure and romance that had me losing yet another (almost) full night of sleep! This time out Olivia Wallace and the mysterious Nathan find themselves not always on the same side as they battle through dangerous events and deadly circumstances. Nathan is looking for redemption while Olivia is looking to simply hide. And in his strong arms is not a bad place to be…

If you haven’t read the previous stories than I would recommend starting at the beginning. There is much leading up to this time and place for Nathan and you wouldn’t want to miss a minute of it! I enjoyed Nathan’s character a lot – what’s not to like about a tortured soul wrapped in a hard, protective coating? Olivia might have been a bit harder to warm up to but she kept pace with the previous series’ heroines in terms of sheer stubbornness and resourcefulness.

While there wasn’t as much of a guessing game this time out, there were still villains and mayhem in spades, enough to keep things moving at a frenetic pace. There was humour ,violence and emotion all mixed up in a story that worked from start to finish. There were some tense moments and the borderline sarcastic humour here and there made sure I didn’t get bogged down in some of the more serious, and stomach-churning moments…

“Do I need to remind you that I have a gun?” he grumbled. His hollow threat was borderline cute.
“You seem to like that.”
“You seem to know what you’re doing…. Yeah, so keep doing it.”

If this is the end of the series I will be sad but definitely happier for finding a new “must read” author.

In the final installment of The Command Series we meet our final two characters to follow, Ethan aka Nathan and Olivia. She is a private pilot for the Abramo’s family and he is the newly hired bodyguard for their family. Both are employees for the crime family, only Olivia seems to just push the details of her work aside due to her desire to stay safe from the family, and he is working to bring the family down. Olivia pilots the family to South Africa for a “Safari” and meets their newest bodyguard, Ethan. He is attractive and she has to tell herself this is a bad idea from the beginning. The feeling is mutual on his part. He is immediately drawn to her as well, but being undercover and working on bringing down the Abramo’s family, he also tells himself he must keep his distance to not blow the mission. The chemistry between these two is just like anything Karyn writes, so smoking hot you might need to step away between scenes to take a break and cool off. I love her writing and I love that we get so much character development and lots of suspense mixed into the heat of the story as well. Once things start picking up between these two all bets are off and their attraction to each other is pulled and twisted as they find themselves wrapped up in a world of a crime family that needs to be brought down. What a read! I was so happy I got to read this as well as the other two books of the series. I do also hope there are more one day to continue on the story of The Command Series of books.

5 Stars!

Well lookie here... I love Nikki Sloane. Her books are edgy, sexy, and super intense. I've been a huge fan since day one and now... she is back with her alter ego Karyn Lawrence who writes romantic suspense. And let me let you in a little secret.. she rocked it.

The Command series is one full of steam, passion, intensity, murder, mystery, suspense, and the twists don't stop coming until the pages stop flipping. Each book within this series is a complete standalone, but why start in the middle when book one is ready.

Karyn Lawrence delivers to her readers a series that will hook them from their gripping first chapters to the edge of the seat moments throughout the entire book. Expect lots of heart palpitations, labored breathing, and possible kindles overheating the entire time.

This is Olivia and Nathan's story. She's a pilot. He's a bodyguard. From the moment she runs into him, the pull to Nathan is undeniable. Danger... it's lurking and not everything is as it seems or appears. They shouldn't blur the lines and cross boundaries... BUT.

Hot! Yeah wow! Favorite couple of this series by far! Olivia and Nathan sure did surprise me. The tension.. the steam.. prepare yourself. They teased my senses and captivated me. I rooted for these two hard. Not all roads are easy but always worth every moment.

I highly recommend this book.

I just finished the very last word of this amazing 3rd book of the Command Series.

This 3rd book is spectacular all on its own and is on par to it's predecessors Safe and Keep. This is the story of Ethan and Olivia. As with all of Karyn's Romance books these characters are broken and they must fight for themselves and for each other. Karyn's HEA's are a process and thrill ride that will grab you from the beginning and take you beyond the final word.

Ethan a CIA agent is trying to tie up loose ends of a mission and comes across the beautiful, intelligent Olivia. From very different but similar pasts their lives are thrown into dangerous chaos that involves the characters from the previous books in this series, from an African Safari to Munich Germany and everything in between.

This story is full of suspense, thrills, angst steamy hot sex and most of all love. YES pure love and respect from all the characters throughout the series. A few new characters are introduced in this book and I hope that means I get to read more of Karyn's HEA's with all her characters who are perfectly broken woven into extraordinary circumstances that provided this reader the opportunity to delve into a spectacular ride and left me with a book hangover looking for more.

This series was good from the start. The firs book earned 4 stars this 3rd one has earned 5 SPECTACULAR STARS.

Do not read this as a standalone! Even if people tell you too, ignore it. You absolutely need the back story.

Gah. This book is just a perfect continuation. I swear this series has gotten better and better as you read on! Most def the stronger of the books in the series. I don't know what it is about this one that makes it that much better but it sure is.

In this 3rd installment, Ethan, who we met in book one and two, gets his story. He is perfection. A badass man's man. I don't think trying to describe him would do him justice, but I think he's probably one of the strongest badasses I've read. Author does a great job of making me feel like I know him and his character development falls right in line with how she's done the previous male characters. Olivia is by far the best of the heroines in this series, in my opinion. Not sure if it's get background that makes her an even bigger badass than Ethan but dayum. She just drew you in and I loved how tough she was. I think she had me when she put the moves on him. lol

I can't say enough about this series. I went in looking for something similar to the author's Three Simple Rules series, but what I got was unexpected and fantastic.

This series is sexy, fast, well written, enjoyable and full of suspense. I absolutely recommend it! It reads quick too. I'm kinda sad to be done with it.

Title: Surrender
Author: Karyn Lawrence
Series: The Command #3
Genre: romantic suspense
Rating: ****

This series just gets better and better. At this stage, the third instalment, we're now firmly attached to the characters and get to follow the mysterious Ethan, who has cropped up here and there but now plays the main role. And it's absolutely worth it.

Ethan and Olivia's romance is of two people who have seen a lot and have lived through it, who are shutting down and dead inside and find life again in one another. Although there is an element of insta-love within these pages, it is addressed in such a way that it is believable and through curiosity and mutual attraction rather than an immediate 'til death do us part. The sex scenes have become steamier, the suspense scenes have become more engrossing - reflecting a mass maturing of Lawrence's writing just through this one trilogy, which i would highly recommend to those enjoying romance with an actual plot.

I do hope this isn't the end of this series; it feels like enough characters have cropped up throughout to make a few more instalments, but if not I'd very much hope for some sort of epilogue or proper conclusion for all the relationships addressed within the pages of this series. I'll miss it.

Olivia Wallace is the consummate professional. She’s highly efficient, discreet and more than just a little beautiful. Her skills as a pilot have kept her busy traveling to exotic locations all over the world, so nothing seems out of the ordinary when her boss has her fly him to South Africa. Nothing - except his brand new bodyguard.

She doesn’t quite know what to make of this fierce and enigmatic man. The only thing she does know is that she can’t seem to stay away him.

The last thing that Nathan needs is a distraction. Distractions can lead to death in his line of work and Olivia is that in spades. The intense chemistry between them is too strong to be denied but will he still be able to carry out his secret mission even though their hearts are now at risk?

Romantic Suspense is a brand new genre for me and Surrender is the perfect introduction! It’s fast-paced, sexy and seriously smart. The characters are refreshing and strong while Karyn creates just enough mystery and intrigue to keep me manically turning the pages. You just might just be surprised by how much you enjoy it. I know I certainly was…

This is Captain Olivia Wallace’s story. Nathan is a typical alpha male handsome, intense and dominant, extremely tough and arrogant. However all is not as it seems, there is more to Nathan than at first sight’ he is in fact a CIA operative working undercover.
Olivia is one tough cookie who in a fight I would sure like on my side. She needs to be, as not all the people she deals with as a personal pilot are on the up and up. She has been through some horrendous things and has survived.
She doesn’t like the attraction she has for Nathan and is determined to fight it, even though it is more than obvious that he wants her too. How complicated and dangerous this makes things needs to be read to be believed. Being attracted to Olivia is the last thing he needs while trying to stay undercover.
When Olivia and Nathan do give in to their lust, the sex scenes were smoking hot; perhaps because danger surrounds them at every turn.
This was my favourite book of the series. I enjoyed the writing style and could see the growth of the author over the three books.

Surrender by Karen Lawrence is a hot, hot book. Olivia is the private-pilot for a powerful, in not a legal way, and rich Italian family. She has always kept her head low and is looking forward to disappearing as soon as her contract is up. During one of her final flights has her flying her boss’s son and his body guard to Africa. Olivia soon finds herself attracted to the “Nathan”, who she later finds out is actually Ethan. Olivia can tell Ethan is just not your regular body guard. Little does Olivia know that she has happened got herself caught-up in a CIA operation which explains Ethan’s cover.
This book was full on suspense, sexual chemistry (Olivia and Ethan), and had an overall good storyline. I was immediately sucked into the book and couldn’t put it down. I definitely recommend this to someone who is looking for a steamy read that has a bit of suspense and intrigue intertwined.

OK, so we are onto book 3 and this time it is Olivia and Ethan/Nathan that are front and centre.
Olivia is the pilot to a crime family and while that doesn’t exactly scream that she is in the best place, throw in the new body guard and things just might be starting to look up.
I had a bit of a hankering that I knew what was going on, in as much as Ethan wasn’t who he was pretending to be but when it came to Olivia he wasn’t pretending!
He knew that getting involved was a serious mistake, it was going to be so difficult to keep job and her separate but he was like a moth to a flame where she was concerned, I loved it!
I liked serious amount of angst that the author was able to build into the story and of the three books, this is definitely my favourite.
There were so many twists and turns that I could have kicked my own a** for my earlier arrogance and assumption that I had the storyline pegged…not a chance!

I won't go into a summary of the plot as to not give away any spoilers. I will say, this book hit a sweet spot with me. The setting is exotic and the author does a wonderful job at weaving descriptions that make you feel like you are there in South Africa. The characters are layered and share a connection that runs as deep as their scars. There are scenes in this book that totally caught me off guard in the best ways possible. The combination of action, danger, and romance is one that I find irresistible. This book has all of that in spades and I enjoyed it tremendously.
As I've seen in other books i've read by Ms. Lawrence, the writing is strong, the chemistry sizzling, and the action is engaging.
Check this one out, you won't regret it. I'll definitely be reading it again.

Great Thrill Ride
Even though this book is the third one in the series it can be read as a standalone.
This book is one of those that draw you into the story, and keeps you turning pages. The characters are great too. The story is exciting, full of danger, drama, suspense, and even romance. This story kept me on the edge of my seat, needing to know where it was going to go next. Olivia is a captain/pilot and she works for a very dangerous man. When they go to South Africa (which was described so well by the author, you feel like your actually experiencing it) there is a chemistry between Olivia and her boss's body guard and she struggles to keep things professional between them. Can she do that, or will the attraction be too much? And what will be the consequences for them if she does? I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!

By far this was the best book of this series. We meet the mysterious man Ethan In Jason and Laurel book. He is very secretive, elusive, and has taken being a bad boy to whole new level. I personally couldn't wait until we got to read his story and learn of his past. I love how the author draws you in to each book and the writing flows flawlessly. I have to say at the end of this book I was craving more of these Hot Alpha Males and their woman.

The storyline continues from the previous books but can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the other two books in the series because of characters overlapping. I love how we get not only the main characters but also how the secondary characters come back in play and we get to play catch up in their lives also.

We met Ethan briefly through the previous books, the CIA agent whose undercover and this ones no different.

Going in as a bodyguard this time he has instant attraction to Olivia, the pilot of the family his protecting. These two are scorching together.

A book full of action, drama and a perfect conclusion to this series.

Addictive! Suspenseful! Riveting! Three books for an impressive series!
Wow! This series is addictive; jam packed with suspense from the very first page. Your heart thumping enigmatic mystery. Each book having a new form of the perplexing riddle continuing the story & charters flawlessly. Massive romance, steamy electrifying passion that we know so well and love from Nikki Sloane all mixed with riveting drama & conundrums. You're on the edge of your seat for each book. Reading this series has continued my adoration for Nikki Sloane/Karyn Lawrence, one of my most favorite authors. Outstanding & impressive series.
Hope we get many more from her! -read by French Sparkle with Pop Fizz Clink Read

Surrender is the 3rd book in this action packed series by Karyn Lawrence. If you love adventure, action, and mystery then this is the book for you.

Ethan is a CIA operative on a mission when he meets Olivia, a pilot who threatens to weaken his steel as ice resolve. What Ethan doesn't realize is that Olivia has secrets of her own.

When Ethan realizes that Olivia knows more than he anticipated he knows he needs to keep her safe and the only place to do that is with the Dunn brothers...or is it?

When Olivia goes missing from the hospital all bets are off and Ethan will put his job and his life on the line to save her. Is he successful? Or will his efforts be for naught?

The conclusion of the Command Series brings us Ethan's story.
Ethan is tying up loose ends on his previous assignment and comes across the beautiful Olivia who is also working.
These two will take you on a suspense filled roller coaster of danger, passion and their own kind of romance. Bringing us characters from the first two books this will have simply more. More passion, more danger, and more suspense.
Overcoming damage from the past Ethan and Olivia will work together to accomplish both their task and their hearts.
An amazing series come to and end!

Much better than the others! still full of action so it's hard to put it down ! what surprised me most about this serie is the violence and horrible things the characters have to go through. i wasn't expecting that so i felt like it was a little too much. Ethan and Olivia were great together but her stuborness was irking sometimes!
i actually read those because i love the books she wrote under her pen name and even if i prefer them, i'll still look forward for other books!

Oh deary me, I'm overheated and it's all thanks to Nathan. That man is hot and an alpha that makes my heart skip a beat. And Olivia is no shrinking violet, she's stubborn and spunky all wrapped up in one sultry package. Those two really know how to heat things up.

But it's the intense drama and suspense that will have you glued to each and every page. Karyn takes you on a thrill ride of emotions that will have you immersed into a mesmerizing story you won't want to put down.

This book begins and ends with suspense and has lots of steamy romance in between! Olivia, the main character is a pilot for a family who is up to no good and puts her in great danger. Lucky for her, handsome Ethan is there to rescue her and take her into his strong arms. This was a great end to this triology of books and I hope to see future work from this author!

This is not the normal genre that I read, but this is very well done. Fast paced with authentic characters, it held my interest from the start. Need to go back and read the first two book sin the series.
