WOW....
Behind the Lens is just wow... Photographer Kallie has only one rule ...DO NOT date any models.. Kallie wouldn't do anything to mess up her career not even the gorgeous, muscular and tattooed Jax Burke. Jax Burke could have any woman he wants at the blink of an eye...until Kallie says no it pushes him to chase her for more than just friendship.. Will Jax be able to show Kallie what's behind the lens? Have you ever sat there on Facebook and saw a gorgeous tattooed model and thought hmmm I wonder what their life is like? How hard it must be to deal with the woman, the spotlight ect.? Well you no longer have to be curious Heather Dahlgren takes you into the minds of a model and a photographer and what goes on behind the lens. This book was so exciting! I was waiting on the edge of my seat screaming "WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN!" There was a perfect amount of PASSION, SEXY, AND ROMANCE! I could not put this down and still crave more! This is a must read, Heather did her homework on it and it comes to life in your mind! I have laughed, I have screamed and I have sweated (Hot Hot Hot scenes) LOL anyway you pass this book but you're missing out!

Simply fantastic!!! Get your misting fans ready so you can cool down after reading about these two. Jax is sweet, caring, totally alpha, and willing to wait as long as it takes for what he wants. Kallie is nice, sweet, lovable and a total rule follower. You won't be able to get enough of these two. They are sexy, sinful, and funny. I could not put this book down. I actually was so tired the night I started it and did not even remember falling asleep while reading until my kindle hit me in the face lol . Then it woke me so much I was up reading all night . Let's just say the next day at work was so tiring I couldn't wait for the day to be over. Well anyway, sorry got side tracked there. Jax and Kallies story will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that you never want to end. This was the best I've read from heather dahlgren so far and I absolutely adore all her characters and cannot wait for more. I highly HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. So go one click it's definitely worth it and more! HAPPY READING!!!!

When I started reading, there were some technicalities that threw me off, repetition of specific words for example and also the question that if Kallie and Jax were both equal narrators of their stories, why we got a big bunch of (unnecessary) Kallie backstory and Jax didn't.
It was Jax being in love on first sight without him realizing that really got me. I loved the part where both characters realize that they have feelings for each other but fight it. I'm a sucker for conscious narrative, sitting on the character's shoulder and inside his or her head. At this point I was absolutely positive that a 4 star rating was a sure thing, but it went downhill from there.
The sex scenes were "okay". reading them felt like the author was relieved when she was finished with them. I doubt a woman gets her orgasm after one minute every time. And, let's be honest, if you have the time as an author to describe them undressing themselves, or each other, getting on the bed, getting the condom out of the night stand, ripping it open and applying it, I expect double the amount of sex time.
Kallie was beyond her age emotional and childish. I couldn't comprehend her being close to a nervous breakdown when her brother's family left for a month, or how she reacted to her relationship to Jax being exposed. Because they weren't really trying to hide it or were absolutely careful. Apart from Kallie lying about their relationship status. I would have expected more from a woman who claims to be super-professional.
So, when the exposure happened I really would have preferred the book to end before that. Jax super-secret plan wasn't a plan because he already mentioned it, but did he really need to wait a WHOLE WEEK?
My eyes still hurt from rolling, just as my forehead hurts from bashing my desk.
All this unnecessary drama and surprisingly unreasonable, childish behavior along with the repetitive word use really ruined this book for me. I really want to give it four stars, because I enjoyed about... one third of it, but that's not enough, is it?
3.5 stars but not rounding it up, because I'm not feeling compelled to read the next book about London and Blake. :(

{Be Mine Jax}
Overall I’d say that this book is one of the best I’ve read in quite a long time. You can tell that the author’s writing has only got better and better. The author gives us a good glimpse into the world of modeling and photography. The characters are developed perfectly and I fully invested myself in them and their storyline. I had to know how everything was going to turn out. We got plenty of history on the characters and learned what made them tick, the secondary characters were great ,they really added that extra dynamic to the story, helping to make it full and well rounded. I love that the story is told in dual perspectives, we got to see in both Jax’s and Kallie’s heads. Jax is a total alpha and super, super romantic, he is definitely one amazing, hot, and sexy bbf, we need more just like him. I really enjoyed Kallie from the opening chapter right through the end. We saw Kallie struggle a lot with her feelings for Jax which really helped to make the story compelling, I found myself questioning her actions at some points and I even had silent discussions with her begging her to just follow her heart which I am glad she ultimately did. I found myself riding a rollercoaster of emotions with these characters, when they hit their low points I found myself right there along with them just as I did when they reached their highs . I liked how so much of what the characters felt and went though was just easy to relate to, “I want Kallie so f***** bad, but I’m not sure that is something I will ever have. Do you have any idea what it is like to want something so badly you can taste it, but you can’t f*****g have it? That’s where I’m at”, I’m sure this is something most of us have felt before. The love and passion that these two share is over the top, my heart easily filled up with the love that they have for one another, It just flew right off the pages. Their video declarations of love had me giddy, I felt like I won the lotto! The sex scenes are like a wet dream! Super sexy and descriptive and perfect to the point that I had to fan myself! I am so in love with Jax and Kallie and I really hope we get to see more of them in the following books in the series. Even as I sit here and write this I have a smile on my face because of this book and these characters. Jax and Kallie are everything I would have wanted them to be. This book is an easy must read!! There is no way anyone could not love Jax, he is mine, “I had fallen in love with her before she was even mine.” How romantic is that?!!

I devoured this book, I loved how it started off with a 8 year old Kallie and continued to tell
her story as photographer growing up.
you could really feel her passion for taking pictures.
Jax He's a very popular model and the ladies love him.
Kallie also finds it hard to keep her one rule in place, she doesnt sleep with or date models.
They become friends best friends, and the sparks start to fly between them.
will she give in to temptation? or will she stick to her rules?
What i loved most about their story is the way their relationship bloom, It's not rushed,
they take their time getting to know one another and build from there.
and i loved the secondary characters so i'm hoping there will be a story in there for one of them.

Heather use of characters in this story.....REAL Deal.... Hot....They are very relatable. I have read other books by Heather and Loved her other works.. But Behind the Lens WOW I think she has Found a New Love.
I was Captivated but Sexiness but not over the top ,Kept you just on the edge, waiting to see what was next. I like that in a romantic/erotic read....Im almost done with this book and I cant wait to see how this ENDS....I just started this yesterday couldn't put it down...... This is my first read by this author and it certainly won't the last as this was a great read.
Kallie has her dream job. She's now a successful photographer. Her one rule is to not to date the models. That's harder than she thought when she meets Jax. The attraction between them is mutual. When their friendship grows can Kallie take a chance and break her own rule.
This has a great unique storyline that I really enjoyed. Loved the characters. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I have received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book by Heather. To be honest when I started reading it, I didn't expect anything. It was well after midnight when I started it.... and straight away I was pulled in. The writing style of the author was just amazing. I loved it from the first paragraph.
In the book we meet Kallie (I love this name, is so unique!), when she is 8 and is taking a picture of a ladybug. I thought it's adorable. I loved her connection she had with her mum and brother. Few years pass and we meet Heather in present time, when she is a successful photographer and owns her own studio. Over the years, Kallie has strictly stayed true to her most important rule: DO NOT DATE YOUR MODELS. She didn't have any problems with it. Until she meets Jax Burke. He is kind, handsome and hot as sin. And also unavailable to her as he is her new model. The chemistry between them is instant. They can't deny it, but only Jax is willing to act on it. Kallie, being professional, straight away is telling him, that she is not dating models. So Jax is doing only thing that will keep her next to him: agrees to be her friend. And they are best friends quickly. But when lust, passion and feeling are involved, friendship is quickly not enough. After few months of being friends, they decide to take a chance and start dating. And of course Kallie's worst nightmare comes true. And their feelings are tested.
This book is amazing. Sexy, making you hot and wet in all the right places.
Kallie is a strong, level headed heroine, that simply knows what she wants. And now? Now she is living her dream, but is she able to risk everything she has and possibly have in the future for a one guy that makes her heart flutter?
Jax... oh my...hot as sin...totally lickable...there is nothing not to love about him. He is one piece of fine man. If I could I would transport him to my bedroom right now (shhh, don't tell my hubby ;) ). He is sweet, loves what he is doing and is responsible. He is able to cut his way of living to pursue Kallie. He knows she is worth all the fight. So he is being patient.
Heather amazingly describes the life of a model. Of all the challenges they have. Fighting for privacy, to b recognized and how to divide personal and business life and still stay true to yourself.
Except the main characters, I loved the supporting characters that are there: Max, Brin, Brody, Braden and Blake. They all have a story to tell and I hope Heather will tell us all of them.

I confess, I kind of love friends-to-lovers stories. Along with second chance romances, they're among my favorite books to read, whether the couple has been friends for years, or the guy is using friendship as a sneaky way to get closer to (the panties of) the girl he wants. <<-- Which is Behind the Lens is, only Jax Burke is so darn sweet about it, it's hard not to forgive him for trying to get in under Kallie's defenses...

Except Jax Burke is a temptation. The sexy, muscled, tattooed model is nothing like she expected and her attraction to him is strong, and instant. But Kallie has rules for a reason, and she's not going to break them, even for Jax.
Jax isn't about to give up though. He's determined to spend time with her, even knowing she's made herself off-limits, all the while hoping that, one day, he'll be able to break down her walls...
This is the first book by this author that I have read, and I have to say, it was a really fun, charming book. A fast, easy read, Behind the Lens was sexy and enjoyable, and nothing too taxing.
I'll admit I struggled through the first part of the book--I just didn't really get why Kallie was so adamant a relationship with Jax could potentially end her career. To me, it seemed a little too dramatic, and not really in keeping with the rest of the light-hearted nature of the book, and I *may* have rolled my eyes at her once or twice. However, Heather Dahlgren did an excellent job of illustrating why Kallie would have concerns when the drama in this book hit its peak. Without getting into dreaded spoilers, Kallie's concerns seemed more appropriate the further into the book I read.
The characters in this book were so very likable, in particular Jax and Max (and yes, I giggled when I typed that because it rhymed, and I'm a little ridiculous), and that means really good things going forward for this series. Jax was a model character--pun intended. He was funny, sweet and sexy in turn, and along with his muscles, his tattoos and his obvious desire and affection for Kallie, it was easy to love him. And Max, as well as the other secondary characters, was intriguing enough for me to want more.
I am relieved to note that book two, Behind the Book is already loaded onto my Kindle, even if it's not Max's book (which I will most definitely be reading). Now, to get into it! ~ Beth, 3.5 stars

Story is about Kallie, who has worked hard to achieve her lifetime goal of becoming a photographer. Her goals are simple, work hard and make it. Her dedication to her career is admirable. She has this rule, don't eat where you shit, in other words, don't sleep with models.
Enter Max. He is a tattooed hottie with a foul mouth but serious dedication to his modeling career........I think we all know where this is headed.....here's the short version, he likes her, she won't budge. They become friends and yada, yada, yada, he wears her down and they become a couple.
Problems- characters weren't believable. I got Jax but didn't GET HIM. He seemed to have no depth. He just said the word "brother" "fucking" a lot. Nothing to him. He just felt like a pretty boy. The side characters were flat! meh Nothing about them AT ALL makes makes me wonder what happens to them next..... you know, what I'm saying?
The whole novel felt like I was watching an over acted telenovela, does that make sense? The thing is I liked Kallie. I could emphasize with her struggle to stick to her "morals". I felt she had substance, even if minimal.
Bottom line. .....tattooed guys and hot chick does NOT a novel make. It just didn't feel authentic. Sadly, I couldn't in good conscious recommend this to anyone, which sucks bc I REALLY wanted to like it....*looks away awkwardly*

This was good. It was a bit of a slow burn, so for me, I liked the first half, but loved the second. The angst level was pretty low. Loved the characters, Jax was dreamy. Jax's best friend Blake, I wanted to junk punch on quite a few occasions, so I'm really looking forward to seeing him get his comeuppance in the next book, Behind the Book.

Behind the lens grabs you straight away!
It doesn't have the hype hoopla that just snatches your emotions right off the bat(which is usually the read I like)......or the no holds barred starting first paragraph, or even the erotica HOLY WOW scene(also what I like)! What it does have is a uniquely written journey on the way to adulthood that follows a little girl and her dream.
As a blogger you live in the book world.....the author side or reader/blogger side, but very rarely do you get a glimpse of the photography side of the book world, which to a degree, this story touches on. There are many instances in this story that has you thinking 'oh yeah' or 'hmmmmm thats interesting, will ask a cover model this'! And most definitely has you thinking 'yeah I could see that happening with this cover model' or 'hmmmmm is that really what happens behind closed doors' *coughs* fly on the wall senarios *coughs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story.....just couldn't put down! Start to finish I just read and read(passed out reading it and woke straight back up with my kindle still in my hand ready to go)!.
There is no part to this story that has your mind wondering what ifs......wait I lie, it does but in the good way! The storyline flows beautifully where imagination is not required, however you are not overly bombarded with specifics or fluff. A great balance of wit and emotion, as well as seriousness. Oh and very SAUCY scenes!
The story is about following your dreams with passion and determination. Striving to be what you want to be in this world. Its about an instant connection between two people that on many levels could be an awesome match in personalities if one of the main characters wasn't so stubborn(there is always one)! Its about love and family, strong friendships and bonds. And......and one more thing.....this story could be about anyone of us in the real world. I think that for me is what has drawn me to this story the most.
Check out the reviews so far, make sure to read everyone of them! This is a definite upthere five stars I am happy to give without even batting an eyelid! If it was possible to give this read a 100 star rating....it would SOOOOO deserve it! My first book from author Heather Dahlgren and most certainly not my last. New favourite author right here!!!

This book is a great start to the series. The characters are well developed, the relationships are built up, and the storyline is unique and strong allowing you to really get into it. Heather did her research and it pays off! This story shows the life of our fantasy men (cover models, tattoo models, fitness models, etc).
She takes you into Jax's heart and mind, letting you experience his ups and downs with him. At the same time, you get a glimpse into the photographers mind, life and business showing why they don't get involved with the models (or shouldn't). How many times have you said "If I was that photographer, I'd throw him down and climb him like a monkey!"? Don't lie! I know I have a thousand times! Maybe not the exact words, but you know what I'm talking about;)-
Kellie is strong, serious, sexy and she's finally living her dream. Not about to lose it on a whim, she strictly sticks to her rule of 'no dating or sleeping with her models'. Even when she can't deny the attraction she feels for Jax, she's determined to keep their relationship 'just friends'. But how long can she hold out when he's just as determined to get what he wants?

Holy WOW!!! I swear I'll never look at book models the same way again!! This book was absolutely amazing. It was a seriously sexy read with so much going for it. I highly enjoyed every page! Now I got this book as a ARC and to review. And I'm still so very excited about it too! Anyways what a story! Behind the Lens will have you on the edge of your seat drooling with lust and wondering will she do it?! And also, the characters are so real you instantly get caught up I swear I felt like I was Kallie behind the camera taking pictures of everything! I swear Jax just makes you wet and I love the things that come out of his mouth! And boy if I was Kallie I'd never stand a chance! And honestly I know we all drool obsessively over our book cover models cough cough *Lance Jones* cough cough Heather.....lol it's ok we know he's drool worthy! but seriously this story makes you realize they are not just a sexy face, hard toned body full of sexy ink and damn I already knew that but for those of you out there that forget that our sexy as Hell book models are people to read this book see what they do and how they feel and realize how hard it is for them to find someone who sees them as a real person not just a sex symbol. Everyone wants to be loved and being a model it's what they do not who they are and Author Heather Dahlgren captured that beautifully! I can't wait for the next book in this series! It's gonna be epic!!

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review. I gave it 3 3/4 stars and they don't let you post in halves or quarters ;-) I can't say I have much interest in photography or the models lives (I just like looking at the finished product) so that may have been where some of my disconnect was with this book. It was a good book with a good story line about how models and photographer's shouldn't sleep together or date. I can understand that as its the don't shit where you eat philosophy. The main character ends up dating someone she photographed when she swore she never would. Is there a happily ever after? Well you need to read the story to find out.

I truly loved this story very much. Behind the Lens is a love story between an photographer and a model and how they beat the odds of constantly being in the public eye due to their demanding job industry. I love the main characters Jax and Kallie very much as they are very relatable and the love between them is truly beautiful. The side characters in the story also made the story that much better, almost as if they were my own friends and i look forward to (and will keep my fingers crossed) that we get to hear more about them in the future. I love the main idea of the story very much because it teaches you how to fight for what you love, even if other people might not agree with it and that you should never give up something that truly makes you happy because your afraid of what others might think of you and not take you seriously, something i think a lot of people struggle with in their own lives every day. Seeing these 2 characters (though fictional) beat the odds, gave me hope and feel confident that if they can be that way about life, then I can too, which makes me love this story even more. I thought this book was well written and the passion between the two characters was incredible. Totally a book Id want to read over and over again. Highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story, wonderful, strong characters, and an incredible eye opening lesson that will make you see how much being the behind the lens and opening your eyes to the bigger picture and not let others bring you down makes you see the world in a whole new way. You don't want to miss out on this one or any of Heathers other books She's just that awesome. Five out of Five stars for sure. Total Must Read.

Gifted an advanced copy for an honest review.
Behind The Lens was a fantastic read. Once I got into it, I didn't want to close my kindle! I gulped it down like it was water and I'd just spent the last week in the desert dying of thirst.
The way the novel is set up in the beginning, I thought I could sort of guess how Kallie's story was going to go; I figured I'd coast my way through the book and enjoy a simply good read. That's not what happened!
Jax came on the scene and he wasn't what I was expecting. What followed was a great love story that I let consume me. I enjoyed the careful plot development and the way Heather dealt with time. (I'm kind of picky about the concept of time in novels; in my opinion, it can be a tricky opponent that can make or break a story if it's not handled well.) I also appreciated the way conflict wormed its way in. It didn't come how I thought it would or when, which had me anxiously flipping pages, ready to find out what was going to happen next.
All that to say, I would recommend you one-click! This was my first time reading a book by Heather and I promise you, it won't be my last! She set up some pretty great side characters with potential for stories as part of the series and I can't wait to read them. (OMG. Brody. That's all I'm going to say!)

I want to start by saying that I have been looking forward to getting my hands on this book for so long, so once this baby was on Kindle my world stopped!! Blown AwaY, that is the best way to describe my reaction. Heather did such an amazing job of pulling me in and I devoured it in one sitting!!
I immediately fell in love with all the characters, not just Jax and Kallie, but all the secondary characters! I absolutley found myself rooting for Jax and Kallie and dying for them to be together. Kallie had so many reservations about being with a model. Can she get past all that and just trust and be happy with Jax? Or is photography the only love she has room for in her life?
I would 100% recommend this book to everyone! I loved the passion and chemistry between Jax and Kallie! I enjoyed every part of this book, from the banter between all the characters and the different friendships! Heather knocked this one out of the park and I am already not so patiently waiting for the next book in the series!!!

Heather's storytelling is fabulous, the connection her characters have is so real and you feel the pull they have. You urge things to move on quicker because the connection between them is so strong.
I love the way the story plays out and enjoyed the twists and turns.
I totally fell in love with Jax and his romantic dirty alpha mouth! Kallie is a great female lead, she's written very well. I really enjoyed the dual POV of this book and it definitely helped set off the relationship between the two.
My one criticism is that sometimes I struggled with who was saying certain pieces of dialogue at times, as it's all written in. But that in NO WAY takes away from this brilliant story that captured me from page 1!!

Behind the Lens....I was given an ARC for an honest to GOD review--and let me say that this is my HONEST opinion...BTL blew me away! This is by far Heather's BEST writing to DATE. I couldn't put this damn story down, it rocked my world. It was HOT, steamy, SEXY, Funny, and just plain unique. You don't read too many stories about photogs and their models and what it's like Behind the Lens. You really don't.
JAX---swoooooon, sexy, just OMG HOT. I wish there were more of him out here in this world.. I couldn't get enough of his sexiness and caring self.
You ALL need to read this book. I seriously cannot wait for the next one!

Behind the Lens is a good story. The main character, a professional photographer, struggles with having a relationship with one of her models. Being a photographer myself, I really enjoyed the connection and aspect of the story line, not to mention the book cover is fantastic.
My only complaint with the story was in the dialogue. The conversations felt too proper most of the time, making it difficult for me to connect with the characters in a modern setting. However, I thought the novel had great potential and was an enjoyable read overall.
I look forward to more work from Heather Dahlgren in the future.

I was given Behind the Lens by Heather Dahlgren as an ARC. This is the first time I have read one of her book and it was great. The book was very well written it gave so many details that you felt like you were a part of all that was happening and the book was just so realistic. Kallie is a photographer who NEVER dates models photos are her life. Jax wants a chance with Kallie so he tries to wear her down. I can so see a model and a photographer going through the obstacles and having the feelings that Jax and Kallie have for each other. This is a book that you will want to read and I can’t wait for her next book Behind the Book to see what happens next.

Kallie is a very talented photographer. Jax is a very sexy model who becomes smitten by her talent and beauty. Kallie loves what she does and lives by her one rule...SHE DOES NOT DATE THE MODELS SHE PHOTOGRAPHS.
Jax will do anything to show Kallie she can take a chance on him.

Loved this book.
All the characters in this book are so fun. Love the two main characters Kallie and Jack. They seem so real and down to earth. Loved Brinley, Blake, Max, Brody and Braden's family. This was another awesome book from Heather.

Wow Heather this new series has started off exceptional! Jax and Kallie are a steamy hot couple! I love their chemistry! This story had me hooked from the first paragraph! I loved the characters and I felt they were very relate-able and I became very invested in them. Kellie is adamantly determined to not give into her desires, not wanting to jeopardize her career. One feels the overwhelming emotions doing battle between her heart and her mind by denying her attachment to him and suppressing the feelings. Jax is struggling too. He has never felt such a strong pull to a woman and he doesn't want to take a chance of losing her so he toes the "Friends Only!" line. Finally, when everything is perfect with them, their love is smashed by the bombshell that Kellie feared from the beginning. In the devastating aftermath, blooms the most loving speech by Jax. In response, Kellie records her own amazing declarations too. She closes with, "It isn't about what you see, it's what is behind the lens that matters the most." Kallie and Jax are both beautiful and hot. Jax is the newest hot male model while Kallie prefers to stay behind the camera. They are both perfect at their jobs and perfect for each other. They both realize this but are cautious of crossing any ethical boundaries in their line of work. Jax is very sweet and trying to woo Kallie. I fell in love with him from the start. I loved the relationship between Kallie and her brother. It reminded me alot of my own relationship with my brother. Told in alternating POV, the story does not have a lot of action in it but it does move right along. An easy read with beautiful scenery descriptions and hot sex scenes. The secondary characters are just as hot at the 2 main ones.
This can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA. This is the first installment of the Sexy series so I'm hoping to catch more of these 2 characters in the other installments. Would love to read more about Brody as well (hint, hint). lol

The characters in this book were very well developed and you feel as though you know them or you wish you did. Kallie is the friend you always want, she is funny, loyal and just a kick in the pants. Jax is the hot guy with a heart of gold. The supporting characters of Blake, Brody, Max and Brinley keep the story hopping. You want to know more about them too.
I didn't want to put this book down and boy does Heather Dahlgren bring the heat in this book. The chemistry between Jax and Kallie is off the charts. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Great read! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone as it is an amazing book.

This story had me hooked from the first paragraph! I loved the characters and I felt they were very relate-able and I became very invested in them. I loved how into the photography world the book was, I felt as if I was learning things while reading lol The main characters chemistry leaped off the pages and the secondary characters were just as prominent for me and I can't wait to see what book 2 has in store! I also really enjoyed the alternating point of views in the book.

The author expertly illustrates the strong attraction between Kellie and Jax. You can feel the crackle of the magnetic pull between them. Kellie is adamantly determined to not give into her desires, not wanting to jeopardize her career. One feels the overwhelming emotions doing battle between her heart and her mind by denying her attachment to him and suppressing the feelings. Jax is struggling too. He has never felt such a strong pull to a woman and he doesn't want to take a chance of losing her so he toes the "Friends Only!" line. Finally, when everything is perfect with them, their love is smashed by the bombshell that Kellie feared from the beginning. In the devastating aftermath, blooms the most loving speech by Jax. In response, Kellie records her own amazing declarations too. She closes with, "It isn't about what you see, it's what is behind the lens that matters the most." Reminds me of the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

Kallie and Jax are both beautiful and hot. Jax is the newest hot male model while Kallie prefers to stay behind the camera. They are both perfect at their jobs and perfect for each other. They both realize this but are cautious of crossing any ethical boundaries in their line of work. Jax is very sweet and trying to woo Kallie. I fell in love with him from the start. I loved the relationship between Kallie and her brother. It reminded me alot of my own relationship with my brother. Told in alternating POV, the story does not have a lot of action in it but it does move right along. An easy read with beautiful scenery descriptions and hot sex scenes. The secondary characters are just as hot at the 2 main ones.
This can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA. This is the first installment of the Sexy series so I'm hoping to catch more of these 2 characters in the other installments. Would love to read more about Brody as well (hint, hint). lol

Starting out reading this novel, I was instantly pulled into the world of photography. Learning how much Kallie loved to take pictures to me was very interesting and I could tell how much passion she had for taking pictures of anything and everything.
I really liked how in the beginning the author told a bit of a back story with how Kallie started at such a young age in taking pictures and how much it stayed with her throughout the years.
Kallie’s brother played a big role in her starting to take pictures of people and that paved the way for her career. She had worked hard to get where she was and she always followed one rule: Do not get involved with the models.
For a while that one rule she lived by was easy to follow. It was easy for her to stay focused on the job at hand. She was always professional and never lost sight of her goal. But when meeting Jax Burke for the first time, all her rules and everything she had built for herself were questioned. For the longest time she fought the undeniable feelings she had for him, and Jax did as well. They became best friends and each other their feelings grew more and more.
I will be honest, I was rooting for Jax the entire time. I wanted him to push Kallie and make her see how much they cared for each other. I totally understood why Kallie was hesitant about being with Jax. For her entire life it was all about photography and nothing else. She worried her career and reputation would fail.
At times, I really wanted to shake Kallie. I knew she wanted to be with Jax, but she let her fears get in the way. She pushed and pushed Jax away and it was frustrating for me to understand why she didn’t just go for it. I wanted them to be together and I knew it wouldn’t be just some one night stand for them. I knew when they got together it would be an epic love story. And I was right.
Together, they were perfect. Reading how much they cared for each other and how their relationship grew, made me very happy. I was smiling and laughing with them more than once. Especially when their friends were involved. Everything was perfect and I couldn’t imagine them not being together.
Sadly, things take a turn for the worse and everything crashed and burned for them. Reading what they had to go through and the things they had to explain for their relationship really upset me. I was a ball of emotions. I wanted to reach into my kindle and hug both of them and tell them it would work out.
I was very happy at the ending of this novel. I really thought the author did an amazing job capturing the characters and everything that went on. I was totally sucked into the story and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I really liked the authors writing and how we got Kallie’s and Jax’s point of view. I thought that was the best part. Not only that, but now I am inspired to take up photography. The author made it seem like it was so much fun and the way the author described the interactions of the models and the photographer, I wanted to experience that.
I praise the author for writing this amazing novel and I cannot wait for the next book out of this series. I will be impatiently waiting for it! Highly recommend picking up this awesome novel!

3+ but not quite rounded up to 4
Quick summary - A photographer and her model spend forever fighting their attraction in an effort to remain professional, before finally turning their friendship into something more. Lots of tattoos, lots of beautiful people, lots of intense bedroom action, and ultimately an HEA for our leads.
The relationship progressed well - not insta-love. More friends to lovers, I guess? Definitely heavy on the lust, though! Once they finally gave in to the chemistry, that was pretty much what was driving things. I guess when the series name is "Sexy" though, you should expect lots of bedroom time.
Jax wasn't my favorite lead, though he was a good one. Definitely cared about Kallie and worked to have a friendship first, respecting her boundaries, no matter how much he was interested. Still, he felt a little flat to me. Don't know what was missing, but there you go. Also, not crazy about characters who smoke. Just a minor detail.
I wasn't crazy about some of the side characters. Blake and Brinley both irked me. I'm all for being able to sleep with whom you want without guilt. But pushing your opinions on others? Made me want to punch Blake a few times. And Brinley just never seemed to get the double standard that women deal with - you don't sleep where you eat, so to speak. Not saying it's right, but that's the way things are. She'd seen models destroyed for sleeping around, but didn't listen to everyone's advice and then was upset when it looked like it might happen to her!
Overall, the story itself was a little flat. Felt kinda like an evening soap opera? Beautiful people having lots of sex. Superficial drama, but nothing really deep to overcome. Even had the big house with the pool as a setting. So, a pleasant mindless bit of escapism.
A few typos and editing errors. Also, wasn't crazy about the brothers having such similar names - Braden and Brody. As it was, it just made for a few confusing conversations.
Alternating 1st person POV. No cheating, no love triangle or OW/OM drama. No immature refusal to communicate. Kinda empty character development, but still an enjoyable bit of steamy escapism. HEA, with no cliffhangers.
Would I read more in the series? Yes. I enjoyed it, and Book 2 looks promising, though I'm not sure about Blake as a lead. We'll see how things go from there.
