Ellie Reynolds runs a nail salon that caters to shifters of all varieties. The proverbial shift hits the fan when billionaire mogul Jackson Lawrence walks in the door and offers Ellie two million dollars to sell her shop. Ellie has no intention of selling out, especially to someone who plans to bulldoze her shop to the ground and replace it with a fast food joint. Their battle of wit and will is brought to a sudden halt when Jackson’s enemies appear, throwing them into a fight for their lives.
Jackson believed he’d left violence behind when he resigned his position with the Blood Wolves, a secret shifter military group, but someone wants his company’s cyber invention and will stop at nothing to get it. Curiosity killed the cat.
Thankfully she wasn’t feline. But what IS she? As for Jackson – “I’m a wolf, not Superman”. Oh my! I think I need a cold shower...or a cigarette! *naughty grin* What a fantastically hot & sexy romantic story! Too bad it is 'fiction'. *sigh* Wanna know how you can tell? Jackson is just way too hot, way too sexy, way too funny, way too sweet, way to...PERFECT! Guys like him just don't exist in the real world! Oh yeah! He's also a shifter. *dreamy sigh* Could he possibly be any more perfect??? Well, I guess the only way would be if he was MINE! *snicker* Then there is Ellie! She is so funny & sexy and has so many naughty lines that you would be hard pressed to find a way to not like her! Ellie is the type of person that you would love to call your best friend with her hilarity and inner beauty that rivals her external beauty! I absolutely love Christy's writing style, the way everything flows, but I have to say that so far - I just finished chapter 2 - that I positively LOVE LOVE LOVE the humor!!! So many sarcastic comments, tongue in cheek ones, but the naughty lines are positively laugh out loud, hell no, they are full on burst out laughing ones!! How can you not laugh (or enjoy *wags eyebrows with a naughty grin*) lines like this one: “She gave him a cheeky grin. “You’ve opened Pandora’s box for me now.” He wrapped his arms around her and tugged her to lie beneath him on the floorboards. “Just so you know. The only wolf who’ll be filling your box is me.” And then there are the lines that Ellie has in her head - whether they are just thoughts or conversations that she is having with her inner beast and/or with her various body parts! “Bad beastie, she chided the animal inside her. We want normal, remember?” I have highlighted so many of them that I had to stop because it is hard to find anything NOT highlighted!!! My only complaint with this book is that it isn't like a zillion pages long! And yes, I DID have to think 'long & hard to come' up with a complaint of any kind!! The story is THAT good! I cannot wait for more! I hope that there is more to come with Ellie & Jackson! I thoroughly enjoyed their story and can’t wait to see where they go from here! All in all – This is a 5 star book that I highly recommend to anyone who loves shifters, sexy & sassy characters, mystery, intrigue, love, sex, and a storyline that you can get so absorbed into that you lose track of time and only come up for air when you get to those 2 little words that I hate the most – THE END!

Love Christy Gissendaner books and she did it again with Shift Happens. Ellie is the owner of the nail salon that Jackson wants to buy. Jackson is not used to be denied by any one until Ellie. While they are on the run from people who wanted to get to Jackson for his invention. They see where the feeling for each other go. Hot and steamy connection between a wolf and dragon.This was a wonderful, funny and very sexy book. You will love the characters and the change of your typical shifter book. Wolf and a dragon

I bought this book on the spur of the moment because the summary/synopsis sounded fun. Ellie and Jackson are interesting main characters because they are funny and believable even though they are a touch supernatural. It was a fairly short book but the author definitely knows how to make characters developed in that short amount of time which is a feat in itself. I usually don’t even bother reading short stories because most authors can’t get it right. I’m very happy to say that this author rocked it out of the park. I have every intention of getting some of the other shifter books.

Fantastic story! Sexy and fun to read!
You are absolutely going to love this book! It starts out strong and doesn't let up! The plot has humor, intrigue, great dialogue and characters that literally live and walk around in your head! The lead character, Ellis, is funny, strong and come off right away as a real person. The dude, Jackson, is at first a little bit obnoxious, but develops into a great match for her. This book was tight from beginning to end. I completely loved everything about it!

Christy Gissendaner always manages to write a story that is fun, sexy, and sweet. And, she does not disappoint in Shift Happens. I adored the couple and the non-traditional pairing that existing between them. I appreciate the element of intrigue, and would looooove to see more stories about Jackson's buddies, too. Definitely one-click and TBR this one.

Good Adventure
Very enjoyable story. The hero is everything you think about. The heroine is funny, no nonsense and a delight. I liked that this story has elements that can be used for future stories.

I loved this book, a great start to a new series! Ellie and Jackson were great characters! The story was fast paced and engaging! I loved the chemistry between Ellie and Jackson! Can't wait for the next book in the series!
