He left to travel the world for fame and glory, but only after spurning Gabby Ward and crushing her young heart. Now Hunter Markham has come back home to the sand and salty breeze of the North Carolina Outer Banks so he can open up Last Call, a beach bar nestled among the dunes of the Atlantic.
Gabby Ward is not happy that Hunter has returned. Bitter over his rebuff years before, she’s content to stay far away from him and his dangerously charming ways.
Gabby’s well-schemed plans to ignore Hunter go up in flames when he presents an offer to her that she simply can’t refuse, throwing them together in a common quest to each reach their goals. Working together day in and day out proves to be problematic for Gabby, who soon realizes that the feelings she had for him are still very much alive. Hunter struggles to reach through to Gabby’s cold heart, all while starting a new career away from his life as a top ranked, professional surfer.
What starts out as a mutual business arrangement soon turns into a passion that neither of them can continue to deny.
Hard choices lay ahead for both of them when Hunter is offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to return to the pro surfing tour.

REVIEW: ON THE ROCKS is the first storyline in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, new adult, erotic series focusing on a group of family and friends in Hatteras Island, North Carolina. This is a friends to enemies to lovers storyline that follows 22 year old Gabby Ward and 26 year old Hunter Markham as they dance around the elephant in the room-their mutual attraction and love for one another.
The storyline premise will find up and coming professional surfer Hunter Markham walking away from Gabby on the night of her high school graduation. Their first kiss ends with Hunter pushing Gabby away. Fast forward five years and Gabby’s anger over Hunter’s apparent disgust of their kiss has fueled the fires that continue to eat away at Gabby’s heart. With Hunter’s return to North Carolina Gabby knows there will be no way to avoid the beautiful boy she once loved. But avoiding Hunter is next to impossible when circumstances find the couple working together towards a common goal.
ON THE ROCKS introduces a tight knit groups of friends including Hunter’s twin brother Brody and, his sister and Gabby’s BFF Casey; Gabby’s roommate Savannah; Hunter’s surfing buddy John and his sister (and Hunter’s ex) Sasha; as well as Alyssa Myers-the woman who will help heal Brody’s broken and fragile mind. Much of the storyline finds the friends at Hunter’s new bar-The Last Call-where hearts will be broken and futures unveiled.
The relationship between Hunter and Gabby is initially icy as Gabby’s continuous anger towards the man that she has loved for years interferes in their daily lives. She is a woman scorned; beaten down by what she believes is rejection; and there is very little room for negotiation when the heart wants what the head pushes away. At times, Gabby is a difficult person to love-for Hunter and for the reader. Her child-like behavior was questionable; her intent was to break the heart of the man who broke her own.
Sawyer Bennett pulls the reader into a story about one kiss, two people and five years of heartbreak. Told in alternating first person POV from Hunter and Gabby’s perspective, On The Rocks is a story where mistaken beliefs fuel the hatred and pain of rejection, in the end, to discover that falling in love with your sister’s best friend is probably the thing that you have ever done. But convincing your sister’s best friend is another matter-all together.

Can he make Madison take a risk and dare to love? ______
REVIEW: 3.75 stars--DARE TO DESIRE is the second installment in Carly Phillips adult, contemporary Dare to Love romance series focusing on the Dare family of siblings and half siblings. This is quarterback Alex Dare, and social worker Madison Evans’s storyline. DARE TO DESIRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous storylines is revealed where necessary.
Some background: Family patriarch Robert Dare kept secret a second family from his first wife and children. Each storyline will focus on one of the Dare half-siblings or cousins; the relationship between the two families of adult children; and a father’s weak attempts to amend for the sins of the past. Alex Dare is one of the children in Robert’s second family.
Told from alternating third person perspectives DARE TO DESIRE focuses on a second chance relationship between Alex Dare and Madison Evans. Alex is a professional football player whose career has come to a grinding halt following the latest concussion that left our hero unconscious and without any memory of what happened on the field. Angry at life and everyone in general, Alex proceeded to destroy every relationship including the one with Madison Evans. Fast forward six months, and Alex is offered a position, by his half brother Ian (Dare to Love #1) with a rival football team that Ian owns. The catch? Alex will be partnered with Madison Evans-the woman whose heart he broke months before.
Alex must atone for his sins and is slowly trying to gain forgiveness from those he pushed away, including family, friends, business associates and Madison Evans. Working together reminds Alex of everything he has lost and in this, Alex will begin a slow seduction of the woman he wants back in his life which isn’t too difficult considering Madison was still in love with the former football star. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
The secondary and supporting characters include Ian and Riley (Dare to Love #1) as well as a number of Dare siblings, half siblings and cousin including Gabriel Dare whose story will be told in DARE TO SURRENDER (Book 3) found in the Invitation to Eden serial. Gabriel is a hotel and night club owner, and Madison and Alex partake of the amenities.
DARE TO DESIRE and the Dare to Love series focuses on family, betrayal and love. The characters are colorful, charismatic and engaging; the world building continues to follow the Dare family, their connections to one another, and the developing friendships between half siblings and Robert Dare’s two families. Carly Phillip’s DARE TO LOVE series is a must read and go to every time.
This is an awesome collection of books!!! I've been reading them for the past few days and I've enjoyed them all!!
Seaside Dreams was my first book my Melissa Foster but most certainly won't be my last! I loved Caden and Bella's story so much!! They had that instant spark that alot of authors don't pull off successfully but not the case with these two! You could just feel the chemistry between them and it didn't matter how long they'd known each other! There was something special there! I liked the other characters as well and can't wait to read each of their stories!!!
Can't Help Falling In Love by Bella Andre was another good one! Gabe is a fire fighter and comes to know Megan and her daughter through his job. Which means they both fight the attraction. For very valid reasons but as always, ya just can't help falling in love! ;)
Out of Bounds by Erin Nicholas was another of my favorites! The hero in this story is Jackson Brady. The town badboy that has reformed. He's come home to help his old coach and wants everyone to see he's changed. In comes Annabelle, the seemingly sweet, quiet English teacher. They agree to help one another out by pretending to date. Well, you know that ends! Sparks fly! ;) This was a great book and I really enjoyed it!
Love, Laughter and Steamy Box Set These 10 stories are delightful. There are women who are interested in relationships, but have either been burned through fate (the death of a mate) or shafted (I think I'll elope with this woman the night before our wedding), or I think we should take a break. The stories are entertaining with some steam mixed in. A few of the stories I have previously read and posted reviews on, but the beauty of these boxed stories is not only the joy I got while reading them, but also the new-to-me authors introduced to me through Ms. Violet Duke's boxed set. AND at 99 cents, you really CAN'T beat this!
Bella Andre Can’t Hep Falling In Love. Very good This book is about Gabe Sullivan of the San Francisco Sullivan's. Gabe is a fireman who rescues Megan and her daughter Summer from a third story fire. Megan's husband died in a plane crash several years earlier. Megan's husband was a Navy fighter pilot who like thrills and taking chances. Megan vowed to never get involved with another man that has a dangerous job. When Gabe was younger he was involved with a young girl he rescued in a fire that did not turn out well. He vowed to never get involved with someone he rescued. I loved reading how Gabe Megan tried to stay away from each other, but was thrown together often. Read how their live story builds along with their ups and downs. You will fall in love with the Sullivan's and want to read about the other brothers, sisters, and cousins.
Melissa Foster Seaside Dreams. Very good. This was a great book. The main characters are Bella and Caden. Bella is a high school teacher that leaves Connecticut for the seaside resort in Massachusetts where she has a cottage that she spent her summers growing up. She has stayed close friends with three girl friends and a couple of guys. This is summer break and all the old friends are together at the shore. There are some hilarious things that the girls do that had me laughing so hard. Bella meets Caden who is a policeman in a compromising position. There is an attraction between the two that brings them together. Caden has a teenage son that he had raised by himself. This is a wonderful story of friendship, love, and trust. The story made me feel good and I can't wait to hopefully read about some of the other characters in the book and see how Caden and Bella are doing.
Lauren Blakely Trophy Husband. Very good. This is a very good story. McKenna's fiancé calls off their wedding the night before as he married a young girl in Las Vegas. McKenna is crushed. Fast forward a year and McKenna has still not gotten over the break up. McKenna has a fashion blog and after talking to her friends, decides to start a contest for a Trophy Husband. The guys were different in so many ways. I loved reading the crazy way she found love again. She also had a great group of friends that always had her back. Great story!
Violet Duke Love, Tussles, and Takedowns. Very good. Violet's books are always great and so was this one. Hudson was wounded in Afghanistan while in the army. He is now working for a Hollywood production on movies to make sure war scenes are portrayed accurately. Hudson meets Lia at his friends wedding and is interested in who she is. A few months later he sees Lia at a gun show and can't keep his eyes off her. Hudson and Lia become friends as they both have interests in guns and MMA fighting. Lia is a spitfire that Hudson can't get enough of, but doesn't feel like he is good enough for her. You need to read the story to see how Hudson and Lia help each other and fall in love. Their backgrounds were different from other love stories I have read, especially Lia's. I also enjoyed catching up with some of the other characters in Violet's other books. You can't go wrong reading one of her books.
Sawyer Bennett On the Rocks Very Good On the Rocks by Sawyer Bennett is the first book in her Last Call series. The lead characters are Hunter who is a surfing star and Gabby who is Hunter’s sister’s best friend and three years younger.
Gabby has had a crush on Hunter most of her life and was crushed by Hunter five years ago. Gabby went off to college but came back home three years ago when her father passed away. Gabby has taken over his construction business. Hunter’s twin brother was in prison for five years and has been released. Hunter quits the surfing circuit and comes homes to help his brother. Hunter buys a bar where Brody, his brother, helps out. Hunter is looking to expand the bar Hunters and accepts Gabby's bid on the renovation of his new bar, Last Call. Gabby is a little surprised as she has been bitter the last five years of how Hunter rejected her. Their relationship through the last five years has been nothing but snide remarks between the two.
Hunter figures out he hurt Gabby five years ago when he crushed her on her graduation night. He had wanted to kiss her back the, but felt bad because she was like his little sister, or so he thought. He realizes he wants her but needs to get past her anger at him.
He accepts her bid and is determined to break down her walls. She doesn't want to let them down because she is afraid he's going to return to the pro-surfing circuit and leave her alone and broken-hearted again.
I liked the chemistry between Hunter and Gabby. There are some obstacles they have to overcome and you don't always agree on how they are handled. I enjoyed third story and can't wait to read Brody's story. Great book!
Carly Phillips Dare to Desire. Very good This is book 2 in the Dare series, but can be read as a stand alone. Alex Dare is a star quarterback who doesn't do relationships. He is seeing Madison who grew up in the foster system. She knows Alex doesn't commit, but goes out with him. Alex' sister in law in Madison's best friend. On Thanksgiving day during a game, Alex has an injury that ends his career. Madison goes to the hospital to check on Alex, but Alex is cruel to her and tells her to leave. Alex is having a hard time coming to terms that his career is over and pushes everyone away.
Months later Alex is lonely and keeps dreaming of Madison. He feels bad what he did to her, and wishes he could change what he did. Alex' half brother Ian, is head of his old opposing team in Miami and tells Alex he has a job offer for him. Alex will have to work with Madison who he hurt months earlier. Alex feels this is his chance to make everything up to Madison and hopefully have another chance with her. Madison has trust issues because of her childhood. When she was with Alex earlier there was always women around Alex trying to get his attention.
Madison is not happy to work with Alex because she still has feelings for him, plus she is still hurt. Alex has changed and works on proving it to Madison. They have their ups and downs working together and starting another relationship.
If you don't like a lot of sex scenes, this book may not be for you. I loved the book. I enjoyed catching up with Ian and Riley from the first book.
Erin Nicholas Out of Bounds Very Good. This is a great stand alone book in a series. Jackson Brady was a star football player in high school, but his senior year when the team was going for the championship Jackson had to sit out the game. Annabelle found Jackson in a compromising position and told the principal what happened because she thought she was helping Jackson. This is how Jackson sat out of the games and made him feel like he let his team down. The whole team loved their coach. The coach had helped Jackson out a lot growing up. Jackson was a bad boy in town.
Fast forward twelve years and the coach has a heart attack, but some of the team comes back to help the coach out with his farm. Jackson has grown up and has a farm of his own in Nebraska where he helps troubled youth. He is also a counselor. So Jackson has someone handle his farm and goes back to his home town to help out the coach. There is an opening as a guidance counselor at his old high school that he wants to apply for. He has to have his first interview with Annabelle who he felt had caused him to let his team down earlier. But Annabelle is a very upstanding person that is looked up to in the community. Jackson feels if he can get her approval and also date him, then the school and the community will accept him. He has grown up and changed his ways. Annabelle does not like being known as a goody two shoes so she makes a deal with Jackson. If he helps her to get a naughty girl reputation with his hot friends, especially one in particular, she will help him out.
You need to read the story to see what happens. There is some hot sex in this book. I liked seeing how Annabelle came out of her shell and Jackson saw a different side of her. The two had great chemistry.
Melanie Shawn Actually Love Very Good. Jessie is trying to get an apartment closer to work and get away from her family some. She loves her family but doesn’t like everyone in her business. Zach is trying to get the same apartment as it is close to where his mother is staying in a home to help her with her medical condition as well as the apartment costing less in rent. Jessie is an uptown girl that is VP in a PR firm. Zach is an MMA fighter. They are in the basement of the apartment together when the two crazy elderly ladies take them for a couple and rent the first floor and basement apartment to them. They both let the ladies think they are a couple and decide to share the apartment.
Jessie is not a touchy feely person, but has that electric shock when Zach touches her. She comes off as a tough girl, but loves her big, crazy family. Zach has always wanted a big family and loves Jessie’s family. Zach has always had women falling all over him, but finds Jessie is the opposite. Since Jessie and Zach are pretending to be a couple because of the two ladies that rented the apartment, they are thrown together. I liked seeing the softer side of Zach and how he brought a softer side of Jessie out. The two elderly ladies were a hoot. I loved the book and thought it was a great read.
Jessie Evans Diamonds and Dust Very Good. Tulsi Hearst is Mia Sherman’s best friend and has always been in love with Mia’s older brother, Pike. Pike is a great pitcher and makes it to the minor leagues when he is 22. Tulsi runs into Pike on a country road while staying at her aunts. Tulsi takes a chance and tells Pike to either leave her alone or kiss her. Pike is surprised at first, but kisses her. As Tulsi tells him how she has always had a crush on him, he admits that he had feelings for Tulsi but thought he shouldn’t since she was like a little sister. They are together until Pike leaves to travel for baseball and they both profess their love forever. They have a misunderstanding and Tulsi breaks up with Pike.
Seven years later Pike is in town for his sister Mia’s wedding. Pike is now a major league pitcher who has dated models, actresses, etc. But when he sees Tulsi he knows he has never loved anyone but her. Tulsi still loves Pike, but has kept a huge secret from him and his family that she does not want anyone to find out. Tulsi tries to keep pushing Pike away even though she wants to be with him. You need to read the book to see what happens between Tulsi and Pike. I loved the story, but would get frustrated with the two of them at times for not being honest with each other. I enjoyed seeing all the love that showed through for different people in the book.
Crista McHugh Falling for the Wingman Very Good This is the third book in the Kelly brothers series, but it is a stand alone. Caleb who is an air force pilot thinks he is in love with Kourtney. While Caleb has been overseas, he has got through all his mission with his lucky charm Kourtney gave him as well as the encouraging emails he received from her. When he returns home, he finds a note that she has left and doesn’t want to see him anymore. He goes to Alabama to find her. When he gets to her house, her sister Alex tries to stop him from going in as Kourtney’s soon to be in laws are in the house. Caleb can’t believe that Kourtney is getting married.
Alex has always been in love with Caleb. She talks Caleb in to letting her be his wingman to try and get Kourtney back. She tells Caleb that as soon as Kourtney sees the two of them together, she will want Caleb back. Alex is hoping that Caleb will see Kourtney for who she really is—spoiled, selfish, self-centered, etc. She is hoping Caleb will fall for her, since she is the one who had been sending Caleb the emails and that is the person Caleb fell in love with.
The town loves Alex who owns her own garage and fixes cars. She has some great friends who make Caleb feel comfortable. Caleb is staying to be Alex’s date for the wedding and try to talk to Kourtney before she gets married. We see how Caleb starts to see Alex and how he wonders why he never saw how great she was before. It is a good story. I loved seeing how Alex interacted with her mother and sister and wanted to know her families heads together a lot of times. I liked how down to earth Alex is and how she makes people around her feel comfortable. I was rooting for Alex the whole time!
BELLA ANDRE – Can’t Help Falling in Love (The Sullivans). 3.5 stars MELISSA FOSTER – Seaside Dreams (Seaside Summers) LAUREN BLAKELY – Trophy Husband (Caught Up in Love) VIOLET DUKE – Love, Tussles, and Takedowns (Cactus Creek) SAWYER BENNETT – On the Rocks (The Last Call) CARLY PHILLIPS – Dare to Desire (Dare to Love) ERIN NICHOLAS – Out of Bounds (Boys of Fall) 3.25 stars MELANIE SHAWN – Actually Love (Crossroads) JESSIE EVANS – Diamonds and Dust (Lonesome Point Texas) CRISTA MCHUGH – Falling for the Wingman (The Kelly Brothers) 4 stars
A little something for everyone. Not all the stories are going to resignate with you but some will have the plot, characters and everything to move you.
You get your money's worth in terms of reading matter. Escapist romance all with HEA and with other books in the series to read if one particularly appeals.
10 full-length novels! Such a deal!!! The price alone is reason enough to get this box set, but the stories I’ve read so far have been great!
Can’t Help Falling in Love by Bella Andre
Gabe and Megan – Gabe is a San Francisco firefighter. He learned the hard way to not get involved with anyone he’s been part of rescuing. Megan works from home and is busy raising her 7 year old daughter, Summer. Alone after her pilot husband died in a crash, Megan doesn’t want anything to do with men who have dangerous jobs. However, fate intervenes and Gabe rescues Megan and Summer from an apartment fire, getting injured in the process. Both Gabe and Megan are cautious, but love finds a way. This is a wonderful addition to the Sullivan family series. Bella Andre writes believable stories with humor and heart.
Seaside Dreams by Melissa Foster
Caden and Bella – Caden is new to the Wellfleet Police department. While patrolling one night, he comes upon a scene so funny he couldn’t help but stop. This is his introduction to Bella, one of the Seaside girls, at the Cape for the summer – or longer! While Caden and his teenage son, Evan, enjoy their new home and getting to know the seaside gang, Bella wrestles with the big question of what does she want to do with her life now. Attraction, love, family – they grow and are demanding. Melissa Foster has built a world where life happens, love happens, and certain people end up in funny or sizzling situations on a somewhat regular basis. A fun read with lots of steam, too.
Love, Tussles, and Takedowns by Violet Duke
This the story of Lia and Hudson. Set in Arizona, author Violet Duke tells the story of two very strong individuals, both confident in their own abilities but carrying baggage from their pasts. Lia is an antique arms expert, bouncer for the local brewpub, a kung fu master with four brothers looking out for her. She is also a virgin widow. Hudson is former military with injured hands, so now consults on weapon and fight scenes in movies. He is a very honorable man trying to find his way in the non-military world. Lia and Hudson first noticed each other at a wedding, and found their way to each other a few weeks later. As Lia and Hudson get to know each other, we see the protectiveness of Lia’s family, and the fun and caring this couple bring to the table.
The author does a great job of bringing secondary characters into this book. The backstories and relationships seem real. I also learned a lot about kung fu. I definitely recommend this book. Violet Duke has never let me down yet!
Dare to Desire by Carly Phillips
Alex and Madison – Alex Dare suffered one too many concussions while quarterback of the Tampa Breakers. Alex and Madison were together before that last injury, but when Madison visited Alex in the hospital, he was horrible to her and cut her out of his life. Six months later, Madison is working for Alex’s half-brother Ian, who brings Alex on board for a terrific project involving preparing athletes for life after their athletic careers are over. Alex and Madison work together and face several challenges on their road back together.
Carly Phillips does a great job of making readers care. Her character building is superb, and the entire Dare family makes for some great reading – enjoy the whole Dare world!
Diamonds and Dust by Jessie Evans
Pike Sherman made it to the pros. As a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, he was at the top of his game when an injury sidelined him. Since his sister Mia's wedding was coming up, he decided to rehab in Lonesome Point, where he had been the high school phenom and where he had left a girl behind. Tulsi was that girl. She was also Mia's best friend and maid of honor. Tulsi and Pike share a past full of secret love and misunderstanding. Can they survive the secrets and build a future, or will the truth drive them apart?
Jessie Evans is a new-to-me author. I like her style! Lonesome Point is an interesting place, but since this is the 3rd book in the series, I now want to read the first two!
I’m only half way through this incredible set. Get yours now!!!
Wonderful collection of romance books. All the books in this collection are full of laughter, family and friends. These are lighthearted reads for the most part. I won't review every book, but just a few to give you an idea of what it contains. In Seaside Dreams by Melissa Foster, Bella comes back to the small community of Seaside for her annual summer trip. This year, though, she is trying to make the move permanent and has swore off men. With the help of her long time friends, she is trying to get a new internship program for teenagers off the ground. Caden, the town's new police officer, has moved there with his son to get away from the dangers of the city. They meet under less than ideal circumstances, but feel an instant attraction. Lots of fun ensues, but there are problems to overcome, too. A great read from beginning to end and you get to meet all kinds of fun characters.
In Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely, McKenna is a fashion blogger who has worked hard to get it off the ground, despite a cheating ex-fiancee, who left her at the altar to marry a young gymnast he met at his bachelor party. When he moved back to town and seems to be invading her life, she decides to get a trophy husband. If guys can do it, so can girls. With the support of her best friends, she comes up with a plan to use her blog to do it. Then she meets Chris who is certainly the right criteria, she thinks, but in reality doesn't quite fit the bill. They team up for promotion reasons, but sparks are flying. Can McKenna take what she sees up front or will her fears hold her back.
Love Tussles and Takedowns by Violet Duke is Hudson and Lia's story. Hudson is retired military and Lia is a martial arts expert. They hit it off and there is lots of discoveries on both sides. There is also lots of laughs and family interference thanks to Lia's brothers, who have been her self appointed bodyguards since her birth. You will absolutely love the family dyanamics.
Out of Bounds by Erin Nicholas She brings us back into the small town world of Quinn, Texas with all the fun characters and nosiness inherent in all small towns, where everyone knows your business before you do. Meet Annabelle(AJ) and Jackson. She was the shy loner and he was the high school bad boy. Now he is back and trying to prove he has changed. When they meet again, sparks fly. He wants something from her and she wants something from him. Can't wait to read the others in the series. They don't need to be read in any certain order, as they are happening simultaneously.
Book 1: Can't Help Falling in Love by Bella Andre: My first introduction to the Sullivan Clan, may be reading more of this family! 3.5 Gabe- Firefighter, Megan- widowed mother of Summer.
Book 2: Seaside Dreams by Melissa Foster. 4 stars. I enjoyed this quirky clan of seaside friends. Police officer Caden, single dad to Evan. Caden connects with Bella.
Book 3: Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely. 2.5 stars. Not my favorite. Enjoyed the characters personalities. Just couldn't get behind main concept of book with the contest and that she was a "Strong" woman but didn't object to her boyfriend calling her a "chick" several times.
Book 4: Love, Tussels and Takedowns by Violet Duke. 3 stars. Injured military vet, Hudson and Lia a martial arts expert and gun enthusiast. so-so
Book 5: On the Rocks by Sawyer Bennett. 4 stars. Cute. Not sure if this one falls into the new adult category, but certainly felt like it. I would read more if this series. Retired surfer Hunter and childhood friend Gabby who happens to be a general contractor.
Book 6: Dare to Desire by Carly Phillips. 3 stars. ex NFLer and Social Worker. Career Ending hit changes the life of Footballer Alex Dare. He gets a second chance with Madison.
Book 7: Out of Bounds, Boys of Fall by Erin Nicholas 2 stars. This one didn't flow right for me.
Book 8: Actually Love by Melanie Shawn 4.5 stars. Really liked this one. Jessie, VP of PR firm and Zach is a boxing champion. They both want the same brownstone, pretend to be a couple to be able to rent it. Any guesses what happens? Of course the relationship becomes real! Predictable, yes! But I loved the characters, the supporting family characters, M&M Sisters. It was a great romance. I really liked the Sloan family, going to have to go back and read more in this series. I was a little lost with all of them coming in but figured they were in other books.
Book 9: Diamonds and Dust by Jessie Evans 1 Star. Not for me. Tired if the I didn't tell them I was pregnant/really loved them/ wanted to be with them but didn't want to mess up their life so they are better off without me despite their feelings storyline. So many issues with this type of story arc.
Book 10: Falling for the Wingman by Christa McHugh- 3.5 stars. Hot Wheels and Wingman, too cute. I'll have to go back and read some more of the Kelly Brothers.
What an amazing compilation of books by some of the best authors around. I've had the opportunity to read half of them and can already tell you what a great collection this is. Everyone should have this on their must have list. I highly recommend it!
Can't Help Falling in Love by Bella Andre - 5 stars The third book in the Sullivan Series and it is amazing! This is Gabe Sullivan's story. He is a hunky hot fireman and although he knows better, he can't help the immediate need gripping him after saving a mother and daughter from an apartment fire. An amazing story!
Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely - 4 stars Wonderfully entertaining and laugh out loud funny. After being left at the altar McKenna decides the best way to get over the ex is to get a trophy of her own. Wickedly hilarious book that everyone should read.
Love, Tussles, and Takedowns - 3 stars While I really like the overall story, the writing felt rushed with many of the twists and character issues left unresolved. I love the characters in this book but I really want to know more about them.
On the Rocks - 5 huge stars Wow...this book was absolutely fantastic!! I am a huge fan of Sawyer Bennett's and didn't think anything could top her Off series books. I was WRONG! With it's wonderful characters, humor and fast paced storyline this book is one of her best. Everyone must read this!
Dare to Desire - 5 stars A truly fantastic read! Alex Dare has it all. Great football career. His pick of women although the one he has now he may want to keep. Then he loses it all. A career ending injury takes his career and his overall nastiness following has Madison Evans walking away just like he told her to. Now he has a chance to build a second career if he can work along side her. You will definitely want to read this one and see how hot those sparks can fly. I highly recommend it.
Diamonds & Dust - 5 stars Awesome read!! A very well crafted story that grabs you right from the start. You can't help but cheer as Tulsi and Pike confront their past. After falling in love as teenagers, the relationship fell apart. He went off to a big time baseball career and she went home licking her wounds and pregnant. You'll want to read this to find out what happens when Pike returns to Lonesome Point for his sister Mia's wedding! I highly recommend this one.
Jackson left Quinn, Texas 12 years ago and has never looked back. Now he has to go home to help his beloved high school football coach. He tries to get a job as a counselor at the high school and the first person that he has to meet with is Annabelle, the girl he blames for ruining his chance to play in the Championship football game. This is where the story starts. It only gets better as you read more!
Oh how I loved these two characters. Jackson the reformed bad boy with issues and Annabelle the quiet, serious woman create some serious sparks in this book. I say this with every book that I read by Erin but they might be my favorite couple. It took me awhile to write this review because I just can't come up with the words to express how much I loved this book!
There are 3 books to start this series. Out of Bounds By Erin Nicholas, Free Agent by Mari Carr and Going Long by Cari Quinn. They all happen simultaneously and you get to hear more about the other residents of Quinn, Texas.
Love, Tussles, and Takedowns by Violet Duke
This is the second book in the Cactus Creek series. It is about Liana(Lia) Lin and Hudson Reyes.
I usually gush about the male characters in books but can I just focus on Lia for a minute? She is badass! An antique arms dealer, and a bouncer at a brewpub? I want to be her. LOL! Hudson is a soldier who was wounded in active duty. I loved that Hudson was willing to help find Leo even if it meant that he wouldn't be in Lia's life anymore. Both of them have violence and tragedy to overcome before they can truly open their hearts to each other.
As always Violet makes me feel for these characters. I also laughed several times. The scenes with Lia's brothers are hysterical. Maybe we will get their stories? I would love more on the Spencer brothers! I love Cactus Creek and can't wait for Xoey and Issac's story. I would recommend this book to anyone!
Love, Tussles, and Takedowns (Cactus Creek, #3) Like all of Violets other books this one grabs you form page one. Lia has had a rough life, not the least of which involves her being a virgin widow. During a gun show she is intrigued by and to Hudson Reyes. Hudson remembers her from his friend’s wedding and tracks her down. They love and affection both of these injured people have for others and each other is the premise for a great love story. Violet knocks another one out of the park. Trophy Husband (Caught Up In Love #3) Mckenna is a fashion blogger who decides to try her hand at finding her trophy husband via her blog. Shes 27 but her ideal hubby must be younger than her. In walks Chris. Chris is handsome, successful and McKenna is drawn to him. But thanks to her douche of an ex and his antics, including fighting her for custody of their dog, she’s afraid to trust in love. Chris is one of the good ones and McKenna is able to see past the pain caused by her ex and figure it out. Loved the HEA in this story. Great heroine and a great guy all around in Chris.
Diamonds and Dust (Lonesome Point, Texas #3) Tulsi has been in love with her best friend, Mia’s older brother Pike since she was a little girl. Finally at 18 shes had enough and dares him to make a move or leave her alone. Little does she know Pike has the same feelings for her. They share an amazing spring together, until a misunderstanding and a secret tear them apart. 7 years later, Mia is getting married and Pike is home. Tulsi cant help her feelings and it is obvious Pike still has feelings as well. Was she wrong to keep her secret and can he ever forgive her if he finds out the truth. Can their love withstand the truth? This was my first book by Jessie Evans but it will not be my last.

The stories are not shorts but novella class. Each one is full of warmth and love and tenderness. The sceneries are all different and the characters are not interchangeable. I made sure I finished each, one per night, before I went to bed. They each a treat to the reader.
Excellent selection of books for $0.99. Ten books and all of them worth the purchase individually. Several of my favorite authors and the opportunity to try out a few others. Definitely worth the price.
You are going to spend a whole lotta money after reading these fabulous stories. If you are anything like me you will want to buy the books that came before or after every authors story. Good luck and good reading
I loved every story in this compilation. While each one was a romantic love story, they all had very different plots to keep me interested until the very last page of the last novel.
I found each of these books to have such great characters and story lines, that I was carried away to each adventure. I would recommend these to my friends.
