Hi! My name is Anne Berkeley. I'm a full time cubicle dweller, wife and mother of two beautiful children. I do all things creative. Photoshop, photography, scrapbooking, decorating, barbering, and I would like to think...writing.
I dream up most of my material during my seventy-five minute commute to work and home again. Some of it comes to fruition and other times it's edited out again. But I hope that what made the cut is worthy of note.
I write paranormal romance novels for adults. No not erotica. Though there are some steamy scenes. I'm working on several novels at the present. Yes, more than one. I jump back and forth as my mood dictates. It's the way I work best. Tempestuous, my first novel, released in 2012, Torrid in 2013 and Feral, the first of a new series in 2013. I'm working to complete Turbulent (Third and final novel for the Tempestuous series), a second novel for the Feral series, and two standalone novels. And yes, I work full time too, so please have patience, my plate is full.
In short, that's me. You can follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads. The links are below. And if you enjoyed my book, it would be appreciated immensely if you would consider leaving a review, or better yet, tell your friends and family.
My guilty pleasure at my advanced age is rockstar romances, and this book is one of the best from that genre that I have read. As a disclaimer, I will say that I was able to beta read this book, and although I don’t know the author in person, we are friends on GoodReads, and I have beta read for her in the past, a few times.
Cooper is a young single mom who meets Tate at an ice cream shop when he tries to pick her up. She is having none of it, especially when she realizes who he is. Why would she run away from one of the biggest rockstars in the world? A couple of years before, her boyfriend,Grant, beat her up and she ended up in the hospital, and had to leave college. She was pregnant, but never told him. He had been stalking her, so now that she has found a safe place far away from him, she wants nothing to do with the photographers that inevitably follow Tate’s group. She leaves thinking she will never see him again, but since this is a romance, Tate does find her again, of course.
The characters of Cooper and Tate were very well realized by the author. Cooper, due to her motherhood and having to work a couple of jobs to make ends meet, was the more responsible one of the two, however she does have her share of snark. Tate was a fun character and I really enjoyed his witty conversations, especially when he was speaking with Cooper’s two year old, Levy. From nicknaming him Mini-Cooper to talking to him about anything and everything(explaining why Fruit Loops aren’t good for him, as opposed to Cocoa Puffs, etc.), it was just smile inducing. And laugh out loud funny at times. Other members of the group, security for the group, and Cooper’s best friend Em, round out this good cast of characters. To me, the best part of this book was the characters, the dialogue, the humor, and of course the romance-which pretty much shows how much I loved this whole book.
A big part of this book takes place on the road with the band, giving the reader lots of time to get to know each of the band members. Lots of humorous scenes, sarcasm, snark, and band antics take place on the road and really throughout this book. From what I understand from the author, she plans on writing each band members book, and that’s a series I want to read!
In addition, things start happening that take this book into the suspense realm. Adding a mystery to any book, for me, is a definite plus in this, or any book’s, favor.
The only thing readers might have a problem with is the insta-love thing that happens. I hate to even mention it, but some people don’t like that in a book, so it needs to be mentioned. I must say, it didn’t bother me much at all.
I can’t begin to tell you how well written I think this book is. One thing I have learned about this author, is that she is a very talented storyteller. Her dialogue is real, her characters well drawn, and her story lines well thought out and executed, not just in this book, but her others as well. If you enjoy paranormal romances, her book titled, Feral, is one of my favorite werewolf paranormal romances, and a total page turner, as this one was for me too.
I recommend this book to all adult (due to hot sexual scenes and language)romance readers.(PureTextuality.com)

Blurb: On the run from an abusive relationship, Cooper Hale has gone to great lengths to protect her son. That includes giving up her dreams of a music career for a life of anonymity.

I had the wonderful opportunity to beta read this book and I can honestly say it's one of the best books I've read in a while.
It's not your typical rock star romance either, it's so much more! The story centres around a 21 year old single mother called Cooper Hale and a chance meeting with Tate Watkins, lead singer of Hautboy, at her favourite ice cream shop.
When you're first introduced to Cooper she doesn't seem like your average 21 year old girl, she seems quite guarded and the reasons why become more apparent as you read on - she's constantly looking over her shoulder and on the run from a violent ex, who, despite her best efforts, ends up finding her and the son she doesn't want him to know about, 2 year old Levy.
Once she realises who she's talking to in the shop she quickly leaves hoping that it was just a one off. When he turns up in the bar she waits tables at and then insists he waits for her at the end of her shift she realises that she might just want one night of hot, rampant sex with a rock god, although It soon becomes apparent that Tate didn't get that particular memo and wants to stick around for more.
This is a rip roaring rollercoaster ride of a book that had some genuinely funny laugh out loud moments as well as some truly heart stopping ones. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and really hope that there's more of Tate and Cooper's story to come. I give this book a full 5 stars.
You know those books that you stay up really late to keep reading and then wake up really early to finish? This is that book! Not your typical rocker romance. Loved Cooper, Mini Cooper and Tate and the rest of the band. Cannot wait for the rest of the band's stories. I absolutely loved this author's humor!
This book was the perfect mix of love, sex, suspense and humor. I found myself mixed in so many emotions throughout reading it that I just couldn't put it down!
Cannot wait for more related books for Anne Berkeley!
Great read. Beautifully written. Could not put it down. From the storyline to the characters. The best part was it was well rounded. I also did not expect it to be so funny. Looking forward to reading other works by this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are so lovable. I especially loved Levy, he adds so much to the story. A must read with a HEA. Can't wait for more!
So, I don't normally read rock star series, & i didn't think I would find another as good as the Illusion series by D. Kelly, but this is just as good as that one. Kept my interest throughout. Will definitely read the rest of the series. Loved this book.
Is it possible a chance encounter could be the beginning of the end? Cooper has removed herself from her hometown and everything she know to protect her most precious secret. Tate Watkins, lead singer of Hautboy, wants everything to do with Cooper. On her constant guard, can Cooper let her walls down to let him in? Can he pull away from her when it time to go back on tour?
Working two jobs, Cooper is making it on her own. Her night job pays the bills, and she gets to sing each night. Meeting the lead singer of one of her favorite bands is about to change her life forever. Tate didn’t know what he was in for when he opted for a one night stand.
This is a heart stopping tale of love and triumph. The author keeps you engaged in this epic tale. You will be on the edge of your seat anticipating the next page. Great writing and I felt connected with the characters. It had great humor and sex.
I have to say this is the best rock-star romance I've ever read. Cooper is a single mom who is hiding from an abusive ex. Tate is a rock-star who meets Coop in an ice cream shop and tries to ask her out. Coop bails when she realizes who Tate is because she's afraid paparazzi will post photos and her ex Grant will find her. I laughed almost the entire time I was reading this book. Tate and Cooper at both hilarious. Tate's band mates are also a trip, especially Carter. This story was fantastically written and the characters were great. It's super fast paced which I absolutely loved! Nothing was dragged out it just went from one scene to the next and really fit what could have been a two part book into one without making you feel like it was to fast. I adored this book and highly recommend it!
**I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
Loved it first one in awhile I actually was laughing but living the romance and suspense. Great Read definitely will be moving on to her next in the series.
3.75 stars I LOVED certain parts of this story. However, there were quite a few issues with other elements of the story. The biggest had to do with Cooper's stalker. If he was always able to find her, then he would have known about a big secret that wouldn't have ended in a huge showdown. If he was as bad as he was made out to be, including causing her to have to get surgery, then I would think that there would have been more of recourse in regards to legal action. Just my thoughts.
Even with those problematic areas, I FLOVED Tate. His jovial and delightful personality was infectious. I like how he interacted with Levy and adored how he was with Cooper. If it wasn't with the plausibility of certain spots, this book would have ranked higher. I rounded it to a four.
I bought this book when it was free on Amazon and the reason for doing that was because I read that it involved a little boy. I sure am a softy for a story with kids. A lot of the times, what you pay for it, is what you get, this book definitely went above and beyond my expectations. I'm not crazy about rockers in my books, but Tate was just amazing. Everything he does just makes me fall in love with a bit more. This book had a little bit of everything and I would definitely recommend it to anybody who loves sweet talking musicians.
This isn't my usual read as there's no UF or PNR about it, but I'm a beta reader for Anne's other series, Tempestuous, and she asked if I would read this for her. I'm always happy to help her out and you know what?! I really liked this one. It is a good, solid romance book with a few twists and turns here and there to keep you on your toes. There's enough sex in it to be romantic but not too many to be plot-less erotica - this is how I like my sex scenes!
Cooper is a 21 year old, single mother working two jobs to pay the bills, working a daytime job in an office and a weekend job in a bar. She's also on the run from her incredibly abusive ex-boyfriend and father of her son, but luckily he doesn't yet know about him and she plans to keep it that way. A chance meeting with a lead singer of a rock band has her panicking about being in the public eye and Grant finding out where she is, so she does only what she can and runs away from him. Unfortunately, or luckily as it turns out to be, he turns up at the bar where she works with the rest of his band and his band mate films her singing on stage during the interval between the bands.
Cooper and Tate have a bit of a fling and she tells him why she's so reluctant to get involved any further, but when she finds out that the video of her singing has been posted on You Tube she freaks out, understandably. The last thing she needs is Grant making her life hell again and disrupting everything she has worked for over the last few months. Tate, however, is determined not to let her go and stands by her, helping her control her fears and to deal with Grant's threats as well.
Cooper and Tate do end up having a proper relationship, which I wasn't really expecting. I thought he would be a stereo-typical wham-bam-thank you ma'am type of lead singer, but he's kind, caring and supportive. Cooper's life is thrust into the limelight, but she deals with it very well and makes the most of her new lifestyle.
Grant does make an appearance and he is dealt with quickly, but I did worry about what he would do to both Cooper and her son. At this point I expected the story to end but it didn't. What happened after was a complete shocker and I loved how the ending made everyone pull together again.
This really was a fairytale come true type of romance, but without it being sickly so. I loved the relationship between Cooper and Tate and I loved how they were completely spontaneous at times and then had to deal with the aftermath of their spontaneity. I loved how Tate was with Cooper's son as well - their early scenes were hilarious.
I would highly recommend this book to any fans of Anne's writing or to romance fans, who are looking for a sweet romance tied in with a bit of a thrilling ride and some tense situations too.
Fantastic job Anne. This book is a fun read but still has every other emotion a human has in it. The characters are amazing. Tate Watkins the hot rock god, Cooper Hale a young attractive girl with a troubled past and Levy a 2 year old that will own your heart. Throw into the mix the rest of the band that are all practical jokers, s**t stirrers and all round absolutely funny guys as well as the other family members and friends and you've got yourself a book that will stay with you in your heart and mind. So happy to know that there will be more from this crazy but fun loving group. Five stars just doesn't seem enough.
I have not read a book in a while that I have given five stars to but this one deserves it. It hit everything I like. I am looking forward to the next books about the wonderful and interesting side characters. This has been a true pleasure to read. I do want to say, at one point, I laughed so hard I had years so bad I couldn't see for a bit and kept wiping my eyes because I so badly wanted to read more but I just kept laughing. No spoilers just want to say it's the part when she first meets the body guards and Austin powers lol. Too funny
First off I was given this book as a gift from the author for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book. Cooper is a young single mother working 2 jobs to support her son. While taking time for herself she runs into Tate lead singer of Hautboy. I strongly recommend getting this book. This book has romance, suspense, and has you laughing out loud at times.
I was so unhappy when the last page was read. I loved loved loved this book. The character interaction kept me laughing and thoroughly entertained. It had intrigue with love, sex, and quirky characters that just brought the story to life. So well done!!
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it!! So funny, too funny...this book had me laughing out loud so many times! Really well written, I couldn't put it down! I'll definitely be reading anything else I can get my hands on by this author! Well done!
This book was awesome. I loved Cooper and Tate...really all the characters in this book. There was so much that happened in this book, it was a never-ending whirlwind of events.
I'm looking forward to reading something else by this author.
Someone to Watch Over Me has romance, mystry and it's funny at times as well. Absolutely love Levy as well as his antics with everyone that is in the story. While the weren't exactly looking for a relationship, Cooper and Tate are perfect for each other.
I enjoyed this book. The characters were funny, the romance was good. I liked the fact that the heroine seemed like a real person. Something's in the story were a little unreal but for the most part it was believable. I plan to read the rest of this series.
