Potabile.
I kept being distracted by the fact that the H & h could have been related. I know for them to have a HEA, they can't be, but because this is an undercurrent through the whole book, I couldn't easily forget the issue. Unless I'm processing things totally wrong, for most of the book, they sound like they were cousins.
Lauren's grandfather is King Malik - Which Lauren & Rafi share, though they have different women for grandmothers. The current King is Rafi's father, and therefore Lauren's uncle. Which makes Rafi, Farah and the others her cousins of some sort. That's what we're told and can gather for 98% of the book. It isn't until the end that everything is explained.
Lauren even thought: "After all, she shared a portion of the blood flowing though Farah's veins. Some of their DNA was the same." - Farah is Rafi's twin. So, yeah. This sort of weirded me out a bit. Lauren doesn't know that Rafi is the prince and related to the royal family, she thinks he works for the royals. But still...the reader can piece these things together and it comes off as strange, in a romance, to have the H & h related as such, even if it's just the appearance of relation.
It wasn't until chapter 7, when things were out in the open and they were on page with them being related. And it wasn't until the very end that we find out that they're not. It's not a surprise, but still. I didn't like having to wait so long for it to be resolved.
98% of the book has them being related as the possibility, it was always in the back of my mind. And yes, I realize for them to have a HEA, they couldn't be related - but that's not the point. I liked the romance, but I didn't like the they're-related--oh-I-guess-they're-not plot. Why even write a romance with that as the barrier or a possibility? Because of this, I'm giving it 2 starts.
awalnya memang agak aneh membaca alurnya tetapi semakin ke belakang semakin dinikmatin..gw suka cara pengarang menggambarkan Rafi dan Laurent dalam berinteraksi..chemistry-nya diawal terlihat dipaksakan tetapi makin ke belakang makin manis plus romantis...rekomended lah untuk dibaca
