Needless to say, as a science fiction and fantasy fan finding this book in my TBR pile was surprising. I had no idea how it got there. I figured, what the heck, let's read it.
I approached this book with an awful lot of skepticism. After all, I consider myself agnostic, holding out some belief for god but not religion.
This book started out citing numerous examples of people rising from the dead. Considering the very limited proof and facts I took these sightings as hogwash and the book was meeting my low expectations.
After about a third of the way through, the tenor of the book changed. Where, at first, the author was doing his best to try and get me to believe in resurrections, he was now taking an entirely different tack. He was dealing with people who failed and their misguided belief in resurrections. In the final third he focused heavily on the medical world and how beneficial it was. He closed out trying to answer difficult questions regarding heaven. In truth, I thought he did his best to apply a level of reason into his analysis.
Did he change my mind on things? Not in the slightest. But I have to give him credit for not trying to BS me or be overbearing in a demand to be believed. He left a lot open to interpretation. Considering a religious audience I suspect he was aiming for, I would imagine he might have even upset those most devout.
A classic example of being fooled by the cover.

Strange little book, a combination of the suspect and the inspiring. Did you know heaven is a planet that's 1,500 square miles big? Yeah, me neither. But there is inspiring stuff that I enjoyed very much.

I found this book intriguing although I can't say that I agree with all of Ralph Wilkerson's ideas. I've never heard Heaven discribed as a planet. It is a thought-provoking book so I would recommend it to anyone wanting to read more about the afterlife. Just ask God to guide you with what is truth.
