Charlie lives in England with her husband and a dachshund named Biscuit. She spends most of her days wrangling other people’s words in her day job and then trying to force her own onto the page in the evening.

She loves cute stories with a healthy dollop of fluff, plenty of delicious sex, and happily ever afters – because the world needs more of them. Charlie also believes that love comes in all shapes and sizes.

Charlie has very little spare time, but what she does have she fills with cooking, pole-dancing, reading and ice-hockey. She also thinks that everyone should have at least one favourite dinosaur…

Listen, I trust Charlie Novak to always do me right so I didn't really look at what this book was about before I started it, and I was very very happy to discover it was a best friends to lovers romance where they've both been pining for years, everything about this book really did it for me.

Haru and Dai were both so very mushy obsessed with each other and the way they both knew each othe so well that they could look at the other for 2 seconds and tell that something was wrong was just the best and I could not get enough of it. I just loved how obsessed with each other these two were, it was very much my jam.

This was a relatively low angst book, but I got so invested in Haru and Dai as characters that I kept crying my eyes out the second the littlest thing happened to them.

I just had the loveliest time reading this one, I could not get enough of it.

An adorable best friends to lovers! The way these two love each other, even before they pulled their heads out of their asses and realized they didn't just want to be each other's friend. I have no words. Just kicking my feet, giggling over how cute they are. Oh and the spice! Charlie definitely delivered! 🔥🥹🫠

That one was cute; they were just sooo sweet together. Dai is really into Haru, even he has been in love with him for 8 years, while he is happy for him and his success, he has a hard time with his own life since the group broke up. But what could be better than following your best friend on tour for months and fantasising about the length of his shirts, where the skin shows. When they get stuck in a small hotel room due to the weather, Dai lets his body talk for him and take what he has been wanted for a long time - especially since Haru wants the exact same thing.

Really a cute holiday story !

Put yourself in the mindset of a cozy swoony holiday read that is one of the sweetest best friends to lovers stories and then you will have pictured this book! I love Charlies writing. It always clicks with me. I did ARC read this, so I was feeling the Christmas vibes around Halloween vs Christmas but you can't find a bad time to read this book. Total Christmas vibes and plenty of sweet swoony spice. These boys can communicate and I ate it up!

Recensione: bellissimo! Ho amato tutto! É un libro coccola! Mi ha fatto rivivere il periodo in cui ero in fissa con gli One Direction e passavo le giornate a leggere Fanfiction su Harry e Louis e a guardare i fan video su YouTube! Per questo motivo ho dato 5stelle! La storia é molto tenera e semplice: Haru e Dai sono i protagonisti di questa storia. Haru si é dato alla carriera da solista, vendendo ovunque e facendo alcuni concerti al Madison Square Garden. Dai é un componente della stessa BOYBAND, che però non ha avuto lo stesso successo di Haru e la cosa lo fa soffrire. Dai é in tour con Haru, sappiamo che ha una cotta per Haru sin dagli esordi della BOYBAND ma da qualche anno hanno smesso di andare a letto insieme. Complice una nevicata importante, Haru e Dai saranno costretti a restare a New York per Natale visto che gli aerei non partono. Finalmente soli, Haru e Dai si rendono conto che la passione e i sentimenti tra i due sono ancora vivi e sfruttando l'occasione, ne approfitteranno il più possibile.
Nella storia sono presenti anche gli assistenti di Haru che saranno preziosi nella storia e li aiuteranno con l'albergo e passeranno il tempo insieme alla coppia. Nonostante la paura del coming out, Haru e Dai lo annunceranno alle persone a loro più care che non saranno poi così stupite, dato che i due erano abbastanza palesi.
Haru e Dai sono bellissimi insieme, solo felice che entrambi finalmente potranno vivere alla luce del sole il loro amore! Ho adorato come Dai fosse geloso di un ragazzo che "sembrava provarci" con Haru. (Ed é anche stato uno dei motivi che li ha portati poi ad avvicinarsi seriamente nel libro)
Le scene spicy sono molto hot e ben descritte, il capitolo 14 resterà scolpito nella mia testa per quanto l'ho adorato!🫶🏼
Questo libro é low angst, é stata davvero una lettura piacevole e si é letto molto velocemente. Assolutamente consigliato.

Dai and Haru have been best friends for many years and are just so adorably right for each other. They know each other so well that much is ‘silently said’ with all the simple little gestures between them. Small moments that mean so much. Their journey from besties to lovers and a heartwarming HEA happens over Christmas but that angle is not overly hyped as it’s once again the small meaningful gestures that are loudest.
There’s bucket loads of chemistry between them so plenty of steam mixed with sweet in this very enjoyable and entertaining read.

Dai and Haru are adorable. This is a sweet, fluffy, low angst romance set at Christmas time that’s also full of super hot spice.

The boys were boy bandmates, Haru’s killing it as a soloist and Dai’s a little lost with where he’s at in life. The two are still besties and Dai has been secretly pining for Haru for years when a snowstorm and “one hotel room available” forces them together.

I was enveloped into the story right away. I’ve read another of the band’s story, and a couple have popped up in interlinked series and I’ve been meaning to get to all their HEAs. This one is set in NY and I enjoyed the location change from Novak’s usual UK set books and references to ice hockey (I wonder if Taz is gonna get a book??!!). There’s some banter and fun with Haru’s security detail Phoenix and PA Ruby, and though it’s saccharine plus, there’s a little real life messiness that makes it relatablely cute.

I’m not hugely into holiday themed romances but this is fairly subtle and an easy, comfy read. Even if Christmas is really in the summertime 😜.

Now Charlie doesn’t write angst there is normally a little sprinkle and that’s it over before it really settles on the page, I actually had to go back to find it this time, slight twinge of Jealousy and it was over in a few stumbles and forgotten in snuggles 🥰

I loved this and it embraced Christmas without donning a furry tutu, tinsel bowa and singing carols.

The easy always there banter and comfortable familiar moments truely made this book, I will disagree that muppets Christmas carol isn’t the greatest of all Christmas movies but you have my husbands vote.

But the rest is all there hidden between shoulder bumps, gentle kisses, sharing food so you get to try more of the menu and ……. Ok I will stop because SPOILERS and they are 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ spoilers that I will keep to myself 😇

Now Santa I just need one in my stocking please to add to my collection with the rest of Underground Dreaming - though I can’t say I have been a good girl

This is a very low angst friends-to-lovers with a snowed in setting and only one bed story.

Like all of Charlie Novak's Christmas stories, it's basically a Hallmark movie in book format.

Haru and Dai are the remaining members of the ex-boyband who still need to find their HEA. We met them previously in other books around the band members. They are a really adorable couple and as they are best friends, there is no real need for a lengthy getting-to-know you story.
When they finally realise that old feelings never went away, they definitely make up for lost time. I love Haru's PA and bodyguard, they bring a good addition to the story and keep them on their toes.

I found that I was a bit annoyed with Dai's reluctant way to sort out his life, the scenes got a bit old. Also, a decent amount of the story happens in bed, well, they are snowed in but I started to wished for a bit more bite.

The book brings out all the warm and and cosy feelings out you want from a Christmas story and if you have read Charlie Novak before, you know she can write them very well.

Sometimes you just need a low angst, best friends to lovers, Christmas book and this one definitely delivers! I’ve been waiting for Dai and Haru to get their HEA’s and this doesn’t disappoint. The forced proximity and only one bed tropes were perfectly executed here. The pining was just the right amount as well. I also loved how Dai truly started to find himself again through this story. By allowing himself to truly open up to Haru he also started to find his way back to music again as well. Haru is truly an absolute gem of a character. He hasn’t allowed fame to change him and he’s got such a strong conviction in who he is and what he wants. As always with a Charlie book the banter and spice were on point, plus there were plenty of swoony moments!

Haru and Dai needed to talk long before they finally get around to it! Oh my god….communication is key people! I mean, all the mutual pining. But every story needs a setup, right? I do enjoy Charlie Novak’s books and her characters. These two just needed to admit what they wanted most and of course it takes being snowed in and only one bed to make them finally face their feelings. It is a cute story and a fitting final story for the guys of Underground Dreaming.

OMG, I love this story about friends to lovers of Haru and Dai. When all the other Underground Dreaming boys, Kane, Toby and Andre partnered off, it left me hoping that Haru and Dai would finally realise their love.
Add in some New York snow and one room, and their personal dreams get the chance to blossom and succeed. So smexy too.
These 5 men's stories are a wonderful series but Haru and Dai's is so sweet and heartwarming that I feel that if your a Charlie Novak fan like me, it’s a must read. Add in Ruby and Phoenix's rolls throughout the book just adds to the Christmas delight.
Ooh, you'll love the surprise ending too. Such a delightful story.

This was such a cute best friends to lovers holiday story. I have had fun with each book I have read in this series and Haru and Dai were adorable. Both have a slight dependency when it comes to the other but it has lead to cute moments like knowing likes and dislikes as well as comfort in cuddling. The friend group is always fun and supportive and I like when we get to see them all hang out. This is a sweet holiday read.

A Christmas romance full of pine-ing!
I was so excited to finally read Dau and Haru's story. They really did need to be snowed in together to see what was right in front of them. When these two started being honest with each other about what they felt and what they wanted it was such a lovely expansion of their existing friendship and relationship into love. Super sexy, lot's of seasonal feels.
