Kelly LeBlanc, a magazine Editor at Crescent City Publishing is at the top of her game in her career while her personal life is in shambles. When it comes to career choices, Kelly always succeeds like a soaring eagle but when it comes to matters of the heart, she fails terribly.

Brad, a charismatic Jazz musician at a local club in the French Quarters, becomes Kelly's favorite obsession. From the moment Kelly lays eyes upon Brad, it is love at first sight and conquering Brad's heart becomes her newest conquest. Problem is, Brad has a bad habit of not playing by the rules. He's content with making them up as he goes, in the love and lust game.

Kelly grows tired of Brad's nonchalant disposition and stops seeing Brad with her heart and starts to see him with her eyes. Oh boy, do the tables begin to turn.
Kelly's mind is made up but her heart has its own plans. Her heart chooses a man her mind doesn't approve of and because of that, her mind and heart stays at war. Kelly learns, love doesn't always come wrapped up into a pretty little gift box, it can be messy. Kelly’s obsession with love is Brad's greatest weapon. The troubles with love sends Kelly on an emotional roller-coaster. One she's eager to jump off of but just doesn't know how. The turbulence of love makes Kelly crash and burn.

Pride and love can't live in the same heart; one will surely die. Which one will Kelly let win?

I started this book this morning and did not put it down until I had read the last page. It was well written and I started to feel as if Kelly's life was my own. Her emotions were my emotions. I love a good story where I become a part of it, and this is one of those type stories. I have had a few Brad's in my life. This story has left me wanting more, and I need part 2 as of yesterday to see how things turn out for Brad and Kelly. MyKisha Mac knocked this one out of the park. This is a must read for anyone who loves a good erotic love story.

This book started out really slow. It was what I thought it would be. But, after reading it I kinda like the way the author went with it. The ending really was the kicker for me. It ended with a lot of unanswered. I hope there is a two so it can close the gap.

This one started off slow for me. There was too much banter between Kelly and her boss and Kelly and her best friend without moving the story along. Then when Kelly finally meets Brad and things are getting good all of a sudden he is just MIA. I think their relationship should have been more pronounced. They only went on two dates and she loves him and doesn't understand why he won't tell her his feelings. They had only been on two dates! Then, when she initiates sleeping with him, she then wants to go slow. They are together, then he is MIA, then they are together, then he is MIA, and we are never told why, except for the first time he leaves without telling her. Why doesn't Kelly say, 'Hey Brad why do you keep ignoring me for months at a time?' Just ask him! For me, the relationship should have been better established with them going out and having a good time more often. By the end I didn't want them to be together because I felt like they never were to begin with. It was on again off again the whole book. This story was not for me.

What the heart wants

I just never understood Brad and Kelly relationship. He acts like a married man. Why after they slept together he would never call or text her?
