She wondered how two people could inhabit the same bed and experience entirely different climates.
After Words End was a perfect atmsospheric palate cleanser after the heaviness of my last two reads. Elena feels like the quintessential millenial to me. Obsessed with perfection and uncertain of her future. I devoured this novella quickly but thought about it constantly afterwards. Are we waiting for someone to finish our story for us or too afraid to move forward incase we go wrong? The focus in the story isn't on plot but rather our own relationship with our perceived destiny. I loved this debut and feel honoured to call the author one of my close friends. Looking forward to whatever is next.
An absolute page-turner!I simply loved the writing style in this book; the prose flows so naturally that it is incredibly easy to get lost in the story. From the very first chapter, it hooks you with a constant sense of anticipation, making you wonder what will happen next. The thrill of the unknown kept me turning pages late into the night. To top it all off, the culmination of the story was completely unexpected and mind-blowing. In short: an incredible writing style, an amazing story, and a very accessible read. I truly recommend it!
Short novella, beautifully written with sentences carefully curated, but also very repetitive (ideas, words) and in the end, I didn’t find any connection to the story nor the characters.
