After being hurt when her ex-partner Aimee left her for a man, Tara has all but given up on finding love. Devoted to her work as manager of the Cats4Life Rescue and Rehoming Centre, she's convinced herself that caring for the cats in need is more than enough to fill her life.
But when a chance encounter brings her into the orbit of Anna, the owner of The Stinky Cheese Café and Delicatessen, everything begins to change. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and being back with the lovely characters and the cats.
Tara has had a quiet Christmas with her cats, but she misses having someone to talk to and have a relationship with.
When she meets Nathan, he knows she’s been unhappy being on her own and suggests organising trips out with her employees.
Nathan has a new employee. But when Isobel visits and comes face to face with her, she leaves almost straightaway. As the new member is no one other than her younger sister, Nicola.
Nicola explains to Nathan what happened all those years ago and why Isobel reacted as she did.
Her friend and housemate tell her to put things right with Nathan and not blame him for her sister reappearing after all these years.
Tara and her colleagues go to The Stinky Cheese for their first outing and they meet Anna who owns the business. Tara and Anna find things in common and exchange numbers. Are things about to change for Tara?
Isobel and Nicola meet, and although they chat, things still feel unresolved between them.
Isobel realises that she’s not treated Nathan well and decides to go and see him, only for him to ask her a serious question after she’s said her bit.
The story covers the subject of Autism which the author covered beautifully.
An absolutely Purrfect book.
I highly recommend this book.

This was a short and sweet wholesome read with a sprinkling of diversity. The characters are real and complex, especially Isobel. It would have been nice to see a bit more of Tara and Anna building their relationship.
I recommend this to readers who are fans of dialogue and relatable characters that leap off the page.

Lovely story filled with emotion and focusing on the future
I loved getting to know Tara more and hearing her story. Lennon is also great. I have an autistic daughter so some of the things he says in the story made me laugh out loud. I love books when you get to hear about all the characters in different parts

Delightful
What a lovely story, it was good to be back amongst everyone at the cat shelter and the vets. The people here are very nice, they make a good group of friends.

Loved being back at the Cats4Life Rescue and Rehoming Centre and hearing Tara’s story.
I loved her son Lennon’s attitude and how devoted she is to him.
The cats are so cute and made me immediately want to adopt one and volunteer at the centre.
