Good Erotica

I actually really liked this read over Book 1 with Layla and Kylo. Layla worked my last nerve and I ended up feeling devastated for Kylo. Most of all it didn't have the romance feels. This book was interesting.

#TheEh
The mains barely spent time in the same scene before 60%. They didn't have a solid good conversation until around 70%. We had a couple of detours one really out of thin air (McKenzie Shrillia case) and another was interesting commentary but functioned as an update for Kylo and Layla (ADHD).

#TheDecent
I did like the FMC. Lauren has it good at the start. An on/off relationship with a man who loves to wake her up with fire head and who's caring enough to put gas in her car and start the shower for her. But by 50% I was getting antsy. Knowing the blurb I was ready for the MMC, Bane to pop up. And pop up he does.

Bane is just full of grown accountable BDE. I love a Thicc'ems MMC. I hated he shaped up and lost right but it's the thought that counts.

#BombSex
I usually hate brat dynamics in books (not my cuppa) but boy did I enjoy how Bane shut that shit down. He was just all man and I loved reading him.

Overall
Most of all I was glad to finally read a Kim K book that didn't have lengthy flashbacks. I'm not a fan of how the author formats her books. There's large spaces between certain paragraphs and line editing was definitely needed.

For this to be such an entertaining story, the author really dropped the ball….BIG TIME. Like… how do you fumble this much audacity? My guess? This book was rushed. And if that’s the case… that’s honestly sad because Big Daddy Bane deserved so much better.

First things first: the formatting is a mess. There are huge gaps between paragraphs, a plethora of grammatical errors, and more than a few moments that made me stop and wonder… was there an editor involved?I actually liked the concept of an estranged couple finding their way back to each other. That’s a trope I can absolutely get behind. But here? It felt like I was dropped into the middle of their story with no map.
We never see them meet. We never see them fall in love, build a life together, or even get married. There are no flashbacks to establish why this relationship mattered in the first place. Meanwhile, my good sis Lauren is over here living her best life with a whole new man, so I had no earthly idea she was still remotely attracted to….or even in love with… her husband.
Because that emotional foundation was missing, I never bought into the reconciliation. There were simply too many plot holes and not enough development to make their reunion feel earned. The couple barely spent meaningful time together, and they hardly had the conversations they needed. So… how exactly was I supposed to believe these two belonged together again? Now one thing Big Daddy Bane didn’t lack was audacity. That man came to shake the table. But audacity alone can’t carry a romance. This story needed stronger character development and a more intentional emotional build up for the payoff to land.

Because the potential? Whew. It was absolutely there.

And imma be real… I was entertained. I laughed. I rolled my eyes. I kept turning the pages. But entertainment alone isn’t enough. I needed the emotions to hit just as hard as the drama, and unfortunately, they never did.

Them!!

I thought that Kylo was my favorite but baby Big Bane is everything!!!!! He was not playing with nobody about his wife and I loved that for her. Lauren was just tryna mind her business and live her life and Malcolm really tried it! It levels of audacity for me ! She didn’t give him enough for me . She should’ve let Big Bane do he was gon do! I loved the way he valued her over everything !! This was a good book. I really enjoyed it 10/10 highly recommend

Big Bane and Lauren

Lauren finally thinks she found a good man. However, she learns she didn't. In her turmoil, she reaches out to a man from her past.

Big Bane, when he receives the call from his true love, he answers. He goes and rescues her the mundane life she created.

This is a journey of two people who face their past and accept the truth of their status.

Big Bane

I loved Big Bane. He did not play about his wife. He came when she needed him and didn’t let up. I loved the way he loved Lauren even when he had to love her from a distance. Their love for each other was real. This was such a great read!

Big Bane not the little one

Great read. Love the story and character build. Definitely was surprised by Malcolm’s actions but I guest everyone has a representative that they use to get the cake.
