I'll start by thanking the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book as an ARC reader.
Now, I dnfed the book. I've read 9% of it and couldn't go trough more. That's why I won't rate this book. I didn't read enough to properly do it.
Unfortunately, right from page one I knew that I would've a hard time reading this book. Still, I wanted to go on and hoped that it would get better. It did not.
I feel like the writing style isn't for me. I felt so lost, and couldn't understand where I was, or whose POV I was reading.
The writing in itself, if focus on one paragraphs only and not the whole text, isn't bad. To me, the issue is that it felt like everything was dissociated and nothing tied everything together.
There was too much and not enough at the same time.
Again, it's not THAT bad, but I think there's more to improve.
I wanted to like this book, especially since I was exited by its story. Unfortunately, it isn't for me.
The one part from what I've read that didn't felt right with me was this one :
"A girl is dragged into the shadows between two carts under a soldier’s grip. No one looks twice; everyone is too busy celebrating to care. The noise reaches Namir’s tent as a muted roar."
The writing made me think that the woman was dragged with force/violence and was about to be graped. And Namir (the MC) hears it but does nothing ? Maybe my comprehension of english isn't that good and in that case, my bad, but otherwise, yeah, it didn't felt right.
I hope this review won't discourage/ affect the author's feeling, because that's really not my intention. There's truly no hate in my review and I hope that it'll been seen as useful.

The Tale of Two Flames
3.5–4/5. It’s well written, though I personally didn't like that I sometimes lost track of where I was or whose perspective I was reading from, and I found the beginning a bit long-winded.
That said, I can see why this might be a 5-star book for some people.
I really liked the story—the way they start as enemies but can't stay away from each other and end up helping one another. Especially right at the start, when she kills one of her own soldiers and he protects her from one of *his* soldiers who has grabbed her; he then walks her to safety so nothing else can happen to her.
They are truly enemies fighting against each other, but they are also fighting against their desire for one another.

🔥 OMG… The Tale of Two Flames 🔥
I genuinely can’t put into words what this book did to me. It got to me, completely grasped me, broke me, and had me crying 😭❤️🔥
Slava and Namir… enemies to lovers, two warriors, two very strong personalities — and that’s all I’m saying because I refuse to spoil this for anyone! 👀🔥 Their journey had me completely invested, and the way their story unfolds is something you just need to experience for yourself.
The author has done such an incredible job bringing this story together. The way the two stories intertwine and slowly become one is just something else. And the decision not to separate them into different chapters honestly made such an impact. It made everything feel more connected, more intense, and made me feel every emotion right alongside them.
This wasn’t just a book I read… it was a book I felt. The heartbreak, the emotions, the connection, the tension, the twists… it all stayed with me.
I laughed, I hurt, I cried… and honestly, my heart wasn’t ready. 😭

This book is a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance with heavy Romeo and Juliet vibes. We are dropped right into the middle of a war from page one, which initially made me feel like I had accidentally skipped a first book!
Instead of a sprawling adventure fantasy, the story takes place in just one or two main locations, keeping the focus tight. My main critique is that I wanted more character depth and backstory; we only get glimpses of their history when it is absolutely necessary to set the scene. If the characters had been fleshed out a bit more, this easily would have been a 5-star read for me.
However, the ending completely blew me away. It is the first time I have ever genuinely yelled "What the f..." out loud at a book's conclusion! If you love romance tropes and endings that leave you staring at the wall, definitely put this on your TBR.
