This series follows Suho, the son of our hero from the original series. Jin-ho locked his powers so that he could live normally. And now the world has changed again, and there are gates and hunters again. So far, 36 episodes have been released for the web novel, and I would read them further. However, the next chapter will be released in February as the author had an unfortunate accident, and I wish him all the best. I am loving the series so far although it's a little bit similar to the first one as Suho has to go through similar challenges but then we meet characters from the last series and it's lovely so let's go and Keep on Reading.
I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Can we get a story about a young guy learning about the restorative powers of empathy and consideration for others through participating in his community and touching grass?

A fun continuation from the original series that follows Suho, the son of our beloved JinWoo. Suho’s powers have been sealed, but following a traditional hero’s journey arc, they are awakened and he finds himself burdened to fight battles he recently had no idea about.
This was a cool continuation of the OG series, but it wasn’t quite anything to write home about. If you love the battles and characters from the OG series, you’ll definitely love this one as it encapsulates the same feeling and provides a sense of nostalgia. I just hope this series doesn’t fall into the shadow of its predecessor.

Ooh, I forgot about this one. I would read this series purely for Beru. The son wasn't bad. Bit of a downgrade from the main series showcase. Still, he didn't get as brutally screwed as his dad. I can see where this one is going. Looks to be a rebuild of the monarchs. The way Beru is expecting an army of shadows and copy of the father was funny. Looking forward to the next one.

I was worried at first that this would just be more or less Solo Leveling all over again with just a different main character (Sooho) and he was just going to follow the same path as his father with a different fighting style. I was wrong. While in the same universe with the same "system" Sooho quickly grows into his own unique powers and abilities. Can't wait for Volume 2.

Kids got a personality, but not as much as antman.
Already a related but different take on the necro power set, and most impressively is that it looks like no ones getting nerfed to make this kids story work (*cough* BORUTO *cough*).

Song Suhu has just awakened to the legacy left by his father and entered a world he barely understood existed. As an awakened hunter with the ability to level up just like his dad the shadow Beru gives him three missions: Protect the world, find his missing mother, and restore Beru's full power. This is easier said than done though, after awakening he comes in at a mere E-rank, so with no choice if he wants to level up he opts to join raids as part of the collection crew, a relatively easy job, unfortunately for Song Suhu his father's enemies know he's awakened and they are gunning for him.
I've only been following Solo Leveling via the anime so there were definitely some spoilers in this one, so just a heads up if you are like me on that level you may want to grab the og light novels or manhwas before reading this.
What can I say it's a Solo Leveling story, seriously one of the best series that have come out recently and this is no exception. Suhu is most definitely his father's son, he just doesn't back down no matter how difficult the fight is, plus he takes everything Beru tells him in stride and gets to work. Like, I am reading a story currently where the MC is basically the chosen one (Suhu is definitely a Chosen One, it may have been his dad that picked him but he fits the profile nevertheless) and they most definitely do not want to. They rail exist it with every fiber of their being, so it was refreshing for Suhu to just be like "Cool beans, lets do this thing!"
Beru is a fun side character who I loved from the minute he was introduced! Plus we have a sentient sword who just happens to be the weapon of a Monarch Jinwoo killed so there's going to be some tense interactions there. Plus, Lycan's Fang (the name of the sword) is one of those sentient weapons who think they are the very best thing on the planet, and nothing is stronger than them so you've got a bit of an Excalibur vibe from it.
This ends on a cliffhanger that made me want to cry though!! I'm telling you guys 2026 is going to be the year of the cliffhanger!

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Vol. 1 is exactly the kind of sequel I was hoping for. Instead of trying to recreate Sung Jinwoo's journey, it introduces a new protagonist—his son, Suho—and gives him his own path to follow. While the story is full of familiar elements that fans of Solo Leveling will instantly recognize, it never feels like a lazy rehash. The world is bigger, the stakes are different, and there's an exciting sense that a new legend is just beginning.
Suho is an engaging main character from the very beginning. He's likable, determined, and far from overpowered, making his growth feel earned rather than inevitable. Watching him awaken his abilities and slowly step into a dangerous world filled with monsters, hunters, and mysterious forces was incredibly satisfying. Highly recommended. A great read for all Solo Leveling fans! As a fan of the original Solo Leveling, I approached this book with a mix of caution and delight. Caution, as many sequels do not live up to the original and delight that IZE (Yen) Press decided to license the sequel. When the manhwa begins with young Sung Suho, he's currently in high school, calling back to the first series with a hint of nostalgia. Everything is peaceful, which gives us more insight into Suho's personality and character. Suffice to say the manhwa picks up later and we definitely see hallmarks of what made the original Solo Leveling so good. A quick note- I would absolutely start with the first series. This is not a sequel series that you can jump right into.

My biggest issue was the format. Since Solo Leveling: Ragnarok was originally designed as a vertical-scrolling webtoon, the transition to a printed volume makes some of the pacing and visual flow feel less effective. Some of the magic of the original format is inevitably lost on the page.
Still, it’s enjoyable to return to this world, and I’m curious to see where the story goes next.

Ich muss sagen, mich hat die Story besser abgeholt, als ich gedacht haben. Ja, es ist sehr ähnlich zu Jinwoos Geschichte. Aber abgesehen, dass Beru wieder dabei ist (yay!), levelt Suho auch noch viel schneller auf und hat andere Quests. Es war teils mal etwas unübersichtlich oder schnell erzählt, hoffe aber, dass es noch mehr Easter Eggs geben wird sowie das mir der Charakter mehr ans Herz wächst. Außerdem wäre es auch cool, wenn er sich wie Jinwoo eine Gruppe von vertrauten aufbauen würde. Freue mich auf jeden Fall auf den nächsten Band!

I read the novel and liked it very much. There were lots of details I wanted to see in comic form, but sadly the story changed so much that they weren’t included. The artwork is beautiful, but I don’t like the new story at all. A reboot would be nice, but I don’t have high hopes.

The art is easily one of the best parts of the book. The action scenes are sharp, fast-paced, and packed with detail. Whenever a monster appears or a fight breaks out, the illustrations really shine. That's one thing the series continues to do exceptionally well.

i am maybe one of the few people who actually LIKE solo levleing so i was super excited to read the sequel series following his son. love how we have some mystery as to where his dad and mom are - how he is similar to jinwoo but also has some things that make him his own. SUE ME I LIKE THIS WORLD

I finally picked up Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Vol. 1, and as someone who loved the original Solo Leveling, I went in with pretty high expectations. Thankfully, I enjoyed it more than I expected.

This is a lot the same. If you wanted something new, this ain't it. If you wanted more solo leveling, here's a clean slate. I'll stick around for a bit and see where it goes.

I really feel like this would have been a 5⭐ read if not for the format.
See, most of the webtoons I’ve read have been, well, online. (Obviously.) But the few other print editions I’ve encountered rearranged the panels or provided emphasis so they could be read easily even without being able to see what was directly above. If you don’t know what I mean, Korean webtoons are generally designed as one long vertical strip of comic goodness. Taking that strip and stuffing it into a standard graphic novel without making any adjustments to account for its up-and-down orientation within limited vertical space? It can break a reader’s brain.
That, or this was reader failure. (Never underestimate my reader failure.)
The struggle bus picked my ass up and drove me through the whole book. I had a difficult time following the continuity because the layout retains that vertical flow while repeatedly breaking it across standard pages. I’m not sure whether rearranging the panels would have been too difficult or what the thinking was behind the decision, but it’s something to be aware of going in.
And actually the more I think about it, I'm not sure it could have been cut into panels. Because the art? While STUNNING, is designed to flow cohesively down the screen but is cut off sharply by page breaks. Would that have been worse if chunked into panels? Quite possibly.
Story-wise, this book is SOLID.
It’s just fun to follow the original protagonist’s kid. The author nailed the functional-orphan setup. (You know you can’t send a kid on an adventure while his parents are around. They don’t need to be dead, and in this case they aren’t, but they have to at least be off the page.) The book handles this creatively: all our MC knows is that his parents have disappeared.
One of the challenges of writing a LitRPG is making the progression system interesting, and this nails it! Leveling? Already handled. But those levels are locked away, so he doesn’t even know he has them. For reasons! Very clever.
There were a couple of plot beats that made me wonder whether I actually finished reading the original webtoon. Apparently, I have homework.
📌 TL;DR: Despite the layout issues, this was a really well-crafted story with stunning artwork that is probably best experienced in its original scrolling format.
