*** DIFFERENT TAKE ON A MENAGE ***

"The thought of having both of you in my life comforts me and makes me believe life happens for a reason. To think of only having one of you scares me"-Rain

THE STORY

Rain was sexually abused by her step father from a young age,her mother wasn't interested so she left home at age 15 and lived with a friend for a while before ending up on the streets.
Ethan has passed by the bench she sits on for weeks and one night when a Storm is coming he invites her home. His best friend Cade who he lives with is a bit reluctant to invite her into their home but eventually agrees.
After a couple of weeks of her having dinner with them, then returning to the streets they invite her to live with them.

Don't compare this to a 'popular' book with a similar start where they all start having sex with the girl...this is a lovely story of 2 men (who have a strong connection ) and 1 girl who falls in love with both of them

The story is simplistic in that it only concentrates on their relationship ( there's no side story or complicated plot )

The reason this stands out is the dynamics of the Menage.Yes it's a relationship involving 3 people who live together but there is no 3 way sex ( it is hinted at, at the end but the reader doesn't get to read it )

I ENJOYED IT A LOT..READ IN A FEW HOURS..A REAL PAGE TURNER..

Note: this is a 3 person HEA MFM erotic romance novel.

So many erotic novels rely on gimmicks, strange sexual situations which would never realistically happen, or horrific tales of the heroine becoming yet another victim of Stockholm syndrome, and later falling in love with the man who kidnapped her (yawn).

This novel is a refreshing change in that it presents the thoughts, feelings, and inner workings of three real people in one real situation. In the manner it is presented, and when considering the thoughts of the characters, this book made me think…

What if….?????

And rarely does a book, especially an erotic book, do that to me.

So, here we go….

Two men, one woman. HOLY SHIT. This book, from beginning to the very HEA ending was a page turning sexual fun fest.

This erotic novel is certainly not the typical MFM book offered in the Erotica industry.

Rain Bauer is a homeless 22 year old who has spent her life running - attempting to stay one step ahead of her abusive stepfather, and hopefully beyond his grasp. Although she left home at 15 years of age, she continues to live looking over her shoulder on a daily basis.

After graduating high school and attempting to make it on her own, she quickly learns the difficulties with being an adult, and becomes a statistic at the age of 18.

After having been homeless for 4 years, she realizes she is 22 years old, she’s never been loved, never expressed love, and yet the clock continues to tick away.

Ethan Hawthorne is divorced and 32, rides a Harley, and is a mechanical engineer by education. He dreams of one day designing his own motorcycles and owning his own shop. He seems early on to have a few demons, but he keeps them at bay. For a month, he’s noticed Rain sleeping on the bench outside the building in which he lives.

While sitting on the park bench one day, Ethan approaches Rain and explains of the approaching storm (tornadoes, hail, etc.) Ethan is tattooed, muscular, and has shoulder length hair. In the eyes of Rain, he’s the perfect hunk. Without much hesitation, she agrees to seek shelter in his apartment for the night as the storm passes.

Rain soon learns Ethan has a roommate, Cade. Cade is the opposite of Ethan. Quiet, shy, OCD, and bordering metro-sexuality, Rain sees Cade as ‘cute’.

The two men seem to be kind, sincere, compassionate, and willing to help with no expectation of payment in return. When later offered a bed for the night, she reluctantly agrees.

We soon learn the two men have a relationship unlike the men in most novels including two men and one female. Although this book is certainly different than most erotic novels in that the two men aren’t in bed together, and I found it refreshing that they weren’t . The men in this book have a bond, a love, and a brotherhood.

We learn late in the book why the men are as close as they are, and for fear of ruining one of the larger plot points, I will not reveal the reasoning behind their bond here. I will say the two men are polar opposites, Cade being OCD and dressing like a businessman, and Ethan being the typical alpha male hunk in Levi’s and a wife beater.

Each man has something about him that appeals to Rain.

As their friendship develops, she soon finds herself drawn to Ethan. Ethan, recently divorced, is slow to respond. Cade, on the other hand, isn’t so slow to approach her sexually.

By the time Ethan approaches, unbeknownst to him, Cade has made sexual advances toward Rain. Advances nonetheless, but slight.

Ethan does the same.

And Rain falls in love with both men, independently.

This book caused me to open my eyes and see relationships as a whole differently.

Conventional no longer existed.

The sex in this book is at an insane level of intensity, and differently than the author’s recent MC novels, happens much earlier, at roughly 30%, and doesn’t let up.

Full of love, compassion, sex, real life relationship concerns, and the questions as well as the answers anyone in a MMF relationship would ask or want answered; this book was an eye opener.

“I had always hoped one day love would call my name; and when it did, I’d be able to answer. I had no idea the call would come from two different directions at the same time.” – Rain

What an interesting book.

HEA, no cheating (really), and a great, great erotic love story. From beginning, to the fabulous ending, I did nothing but flip pages anxiously.

I’d give it a dozen if I could, but I can’t. 5 HUGE MUST FUCKING READ STARS

4 Inspiring Stars

"The three most valid points in our life are when we're born, when we die, and when we fall in love."

All little girl's believe in fantasies, she's a princess and she will find her prince. But what happens when a dream and a nightmare collide, in the form of a monster? The fantasies of a little girl are crushed.

"I lived with the false sence of security my castle provided until i was eight."

Rain

She's a little girl lost, years later she is still lost. She left one hell for a lesser hell. She left a castle for the streets, she left a monster for the unknown.

Rain had a child-like vulnerability, within her personality, her actions and her word's. This i found made her character, that much more real. She didn't experience the slow progression from child to adult, it was abrupt and therefore undeveloped. As a reader but not only a person, i found this to be an expressive change. We are shaped to hide our thoughts and debated within ourself's, having an inner struggle rather than wear our hearts on our selves. Rain was unable to do this, because of she didn't develop.

Rain is homeless, lost and alone. Until she wasn't.

"Love happens. We don't choose love, love choose us. When the time comes, love taps us on the shoulder. I think as long as we're not too preoccupied to feel the touch, love simply happens.

For rain, love doesn't come in two's. It comes in three's, together they were a three.

Ethan

The alpha biker, with the cold heart.

Cade

The nice guy.

"If you were able to choose, let's say to paint a picture only you were able to see, what would the picture include?"

"To have them both."

She didnt love them equally, or individually. But together, she loved them both together as one.

Together Ethan lost his insecurities, Cade grew and Rain got her happily ever after.

I guess it's fair to say when people are stereotyped, they lose any individual unique traits they have, life the rest of us disappear. People are simply categorised. Rain's character is categorised by being passed on the street, the girl sitting on the bench no-one acknowledges. Rain's character was exactly why i found this a change, a change that made an impact. Her personality shined threw once she got the chance, to be acknowledges as a human being. Her individual unique trait's were noticed.

"In many respects, i was Cinderella. And i was living my happily ever after."

Before i even indulged in this book, i was captured by the dedication.

To the beautiful young stranger, who i will always think of when i read this story. Hoping that somehow she found some good in a world full of bad. Because, Ashley made this story all that much more inspiring.

Ok, Ummm… yeah, let’s see here, ummmmm, yeah, I am pretty sure I am not going to do this one justice, because honestly I am truly kinda speechless. I have read all Mr. Hildreth’s books and they have all touched me in some way, but this one I think, for today, is honestly my new favorite. TRIUMPH!!! That is the ONE word that I would use to describe this book.

The story starts with Rain Bauer. I will let Ethan start her description…

I have loved almost all of Mr. Hildreth’s female lead characters but Rain I not only love but I admire her. I am drawn to people who have a certain level of depth in how they approach life at the same time NEVER take said life to seriously. She fit the bill in spades. She is a perfect example to me that you can never truly keep the blessings that you have been given unless you are willing to give them away and the below picture is one way that Rain does this….

Next character in this amazing novel I will introduce you to is Cade Baker. He was indescribable in my opinion; you must read the book to fully embrace Cade. He sparked my very strong conviction of “Live and Let Live” for me. He was so amazingly human….

The third member of the fold was Ethan Hawthorne. Yes Ethan is opposite of Cade in a great number of things. At the same time this author kept me constantly realizing how much these two men had in common.

The author did a wonderful job in letting the reader into all three of these characters, I not only read about their journeys I felt their progress.

I felt that dynamic of the story does not begin or end with simply understanding who the characters were, but with grasping the interlaced devotion that they inspired with the way they chose to live their lives. Some would say the idea of how their relationship worked is frowned on by conventional society, but Mr. Hildreth did an unbelievable job at letting you into the emotion of what binds their hearts together. I was completely and utterly thrilled for all three of them to have found a love that they were able to share in such an honest, open mined and compassionate way.

I cannot even begin to explain all the amazing things that I felt while reading this story, and what I took with me, this is one of those amazing books that I would love to sit around a coffee shop with all my bookworm peeps and discuss for hours, and hours… Who needs book signings when book discussions would be sooo much better, whose coffee shop is first????? Again, simply TRUIMPH Scott, that is it, that is all I got…

Umm, actually one more thing… I had to add this to my review, because I write my reviews for me as a kind of closer. At the same time to share with the people in my hula-hoop what I took away from a story and how what I read touched my life. The below quote was very powerful to me, this message has been put in front of me on more than one front lately, which means I need to listen. Thank you Mr. Hildreth for the reminder, ok now I am done, that is it, that is all I got…

This was an incredibly unique beautiful love story. So much love came from the pages. The energy from it goes straight to and in my heart. Wow my heart bursts out of my chest. Great beautiful convincing storyline. The story of love everyone should have in their life. The love of three beautiful people and their perfect love. The dept is huge and the story has ( how could it be otherwise) an HEA

A really #mustread to everyone who believes in unconditional love

Threefold was a very interesting read for me but I love this author’s writing style so much he could probably write a story about two donkeys and a cat and I would love it. I get lost in the descriptive prose and the philosophical analogies. The story revolves around three damaged souls, all suffering from ingrained insecurities based on past experiences. They are all three unique individuals with a huge capacity for love. After finishing reading this book and thinking about it, all I could think of was alpha, beta and omega. Ethan is your true alpha male, strong and capable of physically taking care of those he loves. This is not to say that he doesn’t bring a lot of emotional support and understanding because he brings that also. Cade is your true beta male, effeminate but not gay, loving but it takes time to win his trust. Rain is the omega that brings these three individuals together and makes them a true circle. Rain has never had anyone really love her. Abused by her stepfather, she has been homeless for years. Ethan suffers from guilt because he feels he didn’t take care of his brother, who was gay and lost his life in a horrible manner. Cade is the man a lot of people would think is gay but isn’t and Ethan has been his protector for years. There’s no sex between Ethan and Cade and there’s no group sex as a threesome in the book. All sex scenes are one on one. Each of these characters brings something to the relationship and is interdependent on each other for happiness. Like I said, it’s like a circle and if you take any part of that circle away it is no longer whole.
Rain is the nucleus of the circle, strong and happy even with all of the bad things she has experienced in her short life. I felt the love between these three characters and my heart hurt several times as I read about their struggles.
It is seldom that I find a committed M/F/M romance that I truly enjoy. There’s a realistic side of my brain that keeps me thinking “this can’t really work in real life”, especially for young people who eventually have children. But I escape to fantasy land and read for the satisfaction of feeling the love, trust and devotion develop. Of course it helps if there is a little hot sex thrown in and this book definitely has that. But the book really isn’t about sex, it’s about three damaged souls who feed each other’s needs and need each other to continue to thrive.
I highly recommend this book but even though the book is classified as erotica, don’t go into the book expecting the usual three way sex scenes. Expect to find a riveting love story between three people who start off as fragmented pieces of a puzzle and turn into a perfect circle.

For me society is stuck in believing that what is common is right and it is frowned upon to have for example 2 boyfriends. Many people think it's dirty, perverted and greedy.

We don't just love one family member , one child or one friend so why would love be limited to one person whom we want to spend our life with?

I think Scott Hildreth has written an amazing book and I really hope it gets the praise it deserves.

For a book like this there should be more then a 5 star rating available.
Like most of all Mr. Hildreth's books, this one invokes feeling and thoughts.
Feelings of sadness, compassion, admiration and most importantly unconditional love.
Thoughts of why people love the way they do, why people think the way they do, why people judge the way they do?
This book is about an unconventional type of love between three people.
When I first started reading this book, I was thinking it was going to be something totally different. Maybe it's the dirty mind I have or because of all the erotic books I have read about MMF romances? I don't know, but it turned out to be so much more than I expected. I always receive something more from every SH book I read, so why I was surprised is beyond me.
Rain is a 20 something young strong funny woman who is homeless. Ethan and Cade live together as roommates. Ethan sees Rain everyday sleeping on a bench outside of the home. One day Ethan wants to help Rain and bring her home. But as with all SH books, it ends up being so much more than just bringing her home. The story that follows is amazing. It is so heartfelt, I cried uncontrollable tears at two points in this book. But as well as crying, I laughed, I felt sorry, but most of all I fell in love with these characters. Cade was so soft and Ethan was so strong. Between them both they make the perfect man. The love that Rain has for both of these men is so touching. The love that they have for her is so sweet and so unconditional. They took her in, respected her and showed her what real love is and what it feels like to be loved.
I always take something from each book of Mr.Hildreth's. I am a very open minded person. I believe that as long as a person loves and is loved it doesn't matter who they decide to share their life with. MM, FF, MMF, FFM, whatever, I don't care. So.... The part in this book that spoke to me was "It isn't necessarily the events in our life which determine the path we walk upon, but the sequence in which they unfold." These words made me stop. So even though this book was about MMF and unconventional unconditional love, for me it was much more. What I am taking away from this book is, even though things don't always happen in life the way we want or the way we expect them to, I think they happen the way they are supposed to, to bring us where we are supposed to be.
The whole time I was reading this book, I thought about the author. The writing style of this author is brilliant, the way this author writes a story is nothing short of brilliant. I have said this before while writing a review for other books by this author. One day while travelling to somewhere I don't remember where with my kids and husband, my 18 yo son asked if I could have a conversation with one person living or dead who would it be? Scott Hildreth was my answer. I think this man is so much more than what we read. Although I don't know him personally or even know anything about him, they way he tells a story is unbelievable. They way he makes me think, the way he makes me question things, I just really need to know....how does a person do that? How does it all come together the way it does in his books?
I guess you have to read his books to appreciate them and appreciate him as a writer. No review will ever do his books justice.

I’ve written a review for this book three times and each time I deleted it. This is number four. I’ve promised myself, no matter what, this one stays. So, please forgive me if it’s a rambling, incoherent mess…

I like the way Scott Hildreth writes. He has a way of delivering tiny bits of wisdom to the reader as he tells a story. While narrowing his focus to the characters and plot, he opens our eyes to the bigger picture of culture and society.

And how he did that with Rain’s story broke my heart in two…

I wanted to wrap her up in cotton wool and protect her from the world that has treated her so harshly. To say my reaction to her was visceral is putting it mildly. I kept wanting her to win the “golden ticket” and live happily ever after. To be surrounded by people who were pure of heart and had no ulterior motives. And, given the abuse in her past, to never have a man look at her with lust, when that is all she thinks anyone would want her for. In other words, I was wishing for unicorns farting rainbows and that’s not what this author writes (TG).

My anxiety over Rain and her future made this book incredibly hard for me to read. I was like a little kid peeping through my fingers at a movie. Wanting to know what happens next, but too afraid to watch.

So if I was so emotionally connected to Rain, why am I not rating this one?

As a reader, I have things that I have a difficult time reading and enjoying, and menages where the people in the relationship can’t love each other independently is one of mine. Rain could picture herself in a relationship with Ethan alone, but couldn’t do the same when it came to Cade. She could only love Cade if Ethan was a part of the package.

It’s my own fault. I got so excited at the fact that Scott Hildreth had written a menage…

that I didn’t bother to ask what kind.

“Love happens. We don’t choose love, love chooses us. When the time comes, love taps us on the shoulder. I think as long as we’re not too preoccupied to feel the touch, love simply happens.”

Life is a series of events, perceptions and receptions can ultimately change the outcome of these events and ultimately everything in life happens for a reason. You are exactly where you are supposed to be, even if you don't understand it.

Threefold is a heartwarming tale of life. A human being has the capacity to love to the ends of the earth and love multiple things and people at once. The heart knows no limits in the realms of love, nor should it. In a world where it's hard enough to find just one someone who loves you back, if you were lucky enough to find two, why try to define it?

Mr. Hildreth has done an amazing job laying out three imperfect characters. Imperfectly perfect. They were real, relatable, and tugged at my heart. I felt what they felt. From page one I was intrigued. I loved that each page reflected love, respect, growth, and acceptance. This story takes you on a pilgrimage of the heart. It's not what you think it will be, it's not what I thought it would be. It took me on an unexpected journey - one that I couldn't get out of my head. This book left me smiling through my tears. Literally.

Lately, I am doing lot of experiments with my reading. I stay away from any book cover showing male chest so when this subtle book cover appeared in my update feeds, I felt myself drawn to it.

You know, omne trium perfectum is Latin phrase meaning everything that comes in three is perfect or every set of three is complete.

(Actual quote from book)

Meet Ethan, Rain and Cade

As I mentioned before I’m experimenting and still struggled to understand dynamics of such relationship, regardless it was refreshing read. At times, it felt overbearing with lots of information and preachy even but I guess that’s writer’s way to explain such taboo subject.

It was new experience for me and this book did well.

I dont usually put words in when I rate my books, being a book whore I sometimes think I cannot be objective enough to give an opinion.

Last night, this book, WOW! If I had to put it in one word, as Rain and Ethan did with their lives in the book.. I would have to say, *Depth*

Depth of characters
Depth of Polyamory relationships
Depth of story
Depth of Life

For the first time in all of my reading I actually coloured a note in, as it hit a new depth for me, as a deep person, that is not easy to achieve once you get IT.

I think the character Trent said it best..

quote :
"To think for one minute the human mind or the human heart has the ability to love multiple family members, and not have the capacity to feel love for multiple people, in my opinion, is to think foolishly," he said. "We love family, friends, animals, thoughts, phrases, places, theories..." he hesitated and shook his head.

"We love none of them any more or less than the other. Love, in my heart, is love. We tell ourselves its different when we think we've met the one. Nonetheless, its simply love, and we reserve hope by telling ourselves the love is special or more abundant than our previous or current loves. Me? I say bullshit," he sighed.

Well...of course. I LOVED IT! This author took a unconventional, taboo topic/love story and made it very tasteful and beautiful between 3 people that love one another! I know there are those that love threesomes (sexually) but this was a love threesome and you can feel it through the words that was brilliantly written.
I'm not going to lie I wanted a pregnancy out of this story just to see how they would handle it, heck I wanted Trent to move with them too, so I'm just a little crazy for wanting everyone to be with someone and happy. Rain, Cade, and Ethan all had a troubled past all felt something was missing in their lives, and the blessing of Wichita, Kansas crazy storms brought them together! (when I start to ramble, that's the sign that the book IS GOOD LOL! )

This was a really nicely done story about an unconventional triad pairing. The relationships felt truly genuine, and there was nary a cliche to be seen in the personalities of each character. There were some insanely hot sex scenes, but it wasn't a traditional erotica book by any means.

Huh…well this is unexpected. I rarely read stories about relationships with multiple partners or that are knowingly open. Not because I have an issue with it but because having had one of my most profound and cherished relationships be one where there were three of us, and having spent most of my youth firmly encased in open relationships of my choosing, I’ve found that it’s best to not read things that might make me feel judged. Having now spent over a decade in a relationship that has always been firmly closed, I get both sides of the argument.

BUT I’m a long time Scott Hildreth fan. Having enjoyed numerous books of his that handled the topics like the belief that sex is a sacred act between two people, to one that covered a woman owning her sexuality in a very humorous & nonjudgmental way, to an awesome take on smut from an author’s perspective I knew this book would be glorious. But then…it just wasn’t.

There were things I have to say were done well. The first is it’s not based on sex. I DNF’d at 68% and up to that point only the female had engaged in sexual acts with each of the men separately. Once prior to the tripod forming and once with the other after. These were one on one encounters. While each character had things in their past and personality traits that I could see being open to this type of relationship, it wasn’t used as a means of explaining how they were screwed up or open to something nontraditional because there was something “wrong” with them.

I ended up DNF-ing for two primary reasons. The first was the guys were over the top in their descriptions of Rain’s perfection. She was beyond beautiful and the most amazing woman Ethan had ever met. Got it, said repeatedly. Cain (oh god and a virgin to boot) was super insecure as to his positioning with Rain. And that was the bulk of the problem, each man was in a relationship with Rain. Though they had been friends, and all three lived together, Cain and Ethan were not in a non-platonic relationship with each other. This didn’t work for me. It wasn’t that I thought they had to have a sexual relationship, it’s that I rarely got to see them interact even on a friendship level. When you did, well it didn’t seem nurturing. I know Cain said he felt taken care of by Ethan but I just didn’t get a strong connection. What time did these to spend together independent of Rain? They all lived together, Cain & Ethan had for a while prior to Rain. I just didn’t see them connecting enough to agree to share Rain. I couldn’t even fathom how it would be possible. Maybe this sorts itself out by the end but at this point it just wasn’t holding my interest like other S.H. books have.

If you’re a fan I would say still give it a try. As a reminder I rate all my books, even those I DNF, so please don’t post comments suggesting I do otherwise.

Scott you've gone and done it again. Every time a new book is released it just gets better! At the end of every one I'm left speechless. You are unbelievably gifted and the master of your craft. Just think if there we're more people with your talent the world would be a better place.

"The world is comprised of all different types of people. Regardless of how well you think you might know someone, from time to time they'll say or do something that will completely take you off guard, and change the way you'll look at them forever."

Funny thing happened last night. It's been a hectic couple of weeks and haven't had much time to read so when I heard "Threefold" was live I had to one-click and start reading immediately. I was sitting on the couch and my husband asks, "who are you reading now" and I answered, "Scott Hildreth" and then he says, "is he one of your favorite authors" and I said, "yes, he is." I'm sharing this with you because you take me off guard with your words and changed the way I look at life and I want to thank you for it.

I've only read a few MMF books and at first I'm always a little bit hesitant because I always seem to think it won't end well but the way you wrote their story is so incredibly beautiful. The timing for every sequence of events is perfect. Not only did I fall in love with Rain, Cade and Ethan but also Trent. I completely lost it when it came to this part, "he reached down and pinched the chest of his tee shirt in between his thumb and finger. As he pulled it forward, stretching it tight out in front of him, he grinned. You see what happens when you walk away?"

If I could rate this book more than 5 stars I would. Truly amazing Scott and I can't wait to read more!

I don't know where to start or what to stay other than just WOW!! Once again the mind of Scott Hildreth is just incredible. This story just like so many other books that he has written has a unique story line that will blow you away. Always taking the rare and unique and making it into one of the most beautiful love stories of all time.

The love that is found between the three, yes that's right the three characters is amazing. Rain is a beautiful and sweet homeless girl surviving life on the streets with no plans for her future or any big changes when Ethan notices her and decides to bring her home for dinner so she won't be left outside in a storm. He's been watching her from his window for sometime now while she takes up residency on a bench beneath a tree outside his apartment building. Although his roommate and very good friend Cade is a little apprehensive he doesn't say no EVER and so the story begins. Both men who are complete opposites, see this young woman for all that she is and more but which one gets the girl? Well in this unconventional love story there is no broken hearts (so to speak) because Rain loves them both. Without one the other isn't complete and she needs them both to have her HEA.

Can three people have a functional relationship? There is so many ways this story could have been depicted but leave it to this author to give it a spin like you wouldn't believe. The story is told in a way you won't expect and it's just amazing. The feelings just flow from the pages! I couldn't put it down I just needed to know how it ended. Well as the norm for Scott I wasn't disappointed at all. He spun this story into the fairy tale of all time.

As with all of Scott's books I have read this again was a unique story and had me hooked from the start. He has a way of drawing you into the characters and their stories that you can't help but be hooked.
Yes this is about a M/F/M relationship and has some HOT scenes...but is is not about a 'threesome having sex' it is about them all finding love with each other and being happy with each other whether society see's it as a 'conventional' relationship or not.
Rain has had a tough life, suffered abuse and as a result has been homeless for many years. That is until she meets Ethan and Cade, who have been room mates for several years. They are quite different to each other in comparison but compliment each othet well.
Who say's that you can only love one person? Rain has found this out....she loves both these men and is determined to make a relationship work with both. None of them can imagine life without the other but at first both Cade and Ethan have their doubts about how it can work, because we are led to believe that you can only love one person at a time.
I really enjoyed this story, it was so heartwarming and was very unique. It gave the reader a message about love and how Society dictates what is seen as 'right'. Reading this book shows you that you can in fact love two people at the same time, you can all be happy together, you just need to be prepared to follow your heart no matter what is seen as 'normal'. A brilliant story again from Scott! Highly recommend it.

Scott Hildreth, dude, you blow me away Every. Single. Time. I think I have you figured out and then you throw me a curve ball like Threefold and I think…dangit….did not see this one coming at all…. I devoured this book! Read it in one sitting. I know it is billed as an erotic story but I beg to differ. This is a story about humanity. About how a society treats people who are “different”. About how friendships can turn in to deep emotional love. It’s about people who help us find meaning in our lives. The story crosses the boundaries for what society has deemed “appropriate” and lets it’s characters feel the emotions that bind us to another human being.

The story is about three individuals, two men and one woman, a ménage if you will, who have an unconventional bond. They complement each other. Each brings their own story into the relationship. What this story is not about is erotica. There are some sexy times peppered throughout the book, but sex is not the focus of the story. What I have come to love about this author is his innate ability to make me feel. I am right in there rooting for his characters. The man understands the human condition more so than most authors I have read recently. I won’t go into much more detail here about the story. Read it. Hopefully it will open you up to a change in perspective.

Breathtakingly beautiful!

The story starts off in an almost whimsical way with Rain Bauer telling us about her childhood. I can almost picture it as a movie in my head with Rain as the narrator. I can see her skipping through the house with her barbies and tucking them in at night. All the while, the monster is there. In the dark and in the shadows with its glowing eyes, waiting to pounce.

Then one simple act of kindness completely changes the course of three peoples lives. Ethan and Cade have been friends for years. They are closer than most brothers and when Ethan's wife divorced him it was the most natural thing in the world for Cade to move in. Rain is like a breath of fresh air to the two men, even though they didn't know they were smothering. She is a mass of contradictions in the best way. She is innocent yet older than her years, tough yet needy. She also loves both men. What would never work with just two is perfect with three.

Ethan, Cade, and Rain seem like characters we have known and loved forever. NOT because we have seen them before, or because they are reincarnations of characters from the authors other books. It is because the author has astounding talent and the ability to not just get the words out there but make them come to life.

Ok so I finished this book in like 2 days but I have procrastinated on reviewing it because I didn't know where I was going to go with it. So here it goes. Honestly I have come to the conclusion that threesome books aren't for me. Not because I am a prude and can't read about it, it is just I usually like on of the characters more than another so I don't see the "I like them both equally thing". So that being said I won't tell you who I was Teaming for but it happened. However in true Scott style the writing was wonderful, the story was good. I only give it 4 stars because it is my review. I know your shocked, knowing how I feel about Scotts writing. Just let me say, I still think he is amazing but for me this one just isn't a Erik Ead or Selected Sinners, or even a Jesse Jayne( by the way I'm still waiting for book 2). By all means read it, love it, tell your friends...me I will be sitting here waiting for Otis's book to freak over.

I have to say when I purchased Three Fold I was not so sure this was going to a book for me. But since I love all you books I said what the hell. When I started to read this book I was sucked in from page one. I didn't move from the chair until I was finished. I loved this book. What a love story! I have say my heart did break for Ethan. You never fail to give me a great book to read. I think this is your best book to date. You hit it out of the ball park with this book. I hope people enjoy it as much as I did!

Love this book!

Wow! I cannot say I am surprised with the quality of writing. However, the diversity that this author has is amazing. This book took me on a journey through a brief portion of the lives of three individuals. Although their backgrounds were extremely different and sometimes horrific, they came together to find that love had no boundaries.

We do have the steamy scenes (thank you, sir), but the book is quite a bit softer than the others I have read from Mr. Hildreth. I am glad I chose to invest my time and attention to this piece of literary entertainment.

This book... this book was A W E S O ME! What a story...wow. It played out like a movie in my head. Everything for me to love about a book is in there.
"Everything happens for a reason." So real were these characters! I loved every second! I want more but am thoroughly satisfied...It will go into my favorites and Re-Read books. Thank you Scott Hildreth.

This is not the typical ménage story. It goes a little deeper than that. There is a whole lot more to these people getting together and just having sex.

Ethan is my favorite character out of this book. I personally feel like Rain done him wrong, and that is where I disconnected from her.

Cain, he's a sweetheart. He came through in the end and I liked him a whole lot more.
