In FULL MOON-BLOODY MOON (Book 2) Chase Dagger and his cohorts confronted the curse of the Addison family. Paul Addison had been an unassuming character, quiet and subdued, but with one lethal flaw—he had been born on a Friday the 13th during a full moon. All of the men in the Addison family born during an identical occurrence inherited the same curse, transforming them into bloodthirsty predators. But Paul Addison had a fiery end to his life.

If that’s the case, then who has been on a killing spree for the past seven months? Killings which become increasingly more brutal around a full moon? Injuries so merciless that it couldn’t possibly have been made by anything human? How much more can the killings escalate as it approaches a full moon AND a Friday the 13th?

As though Dagger didn’t have enough to worry about with his former employer on his trail, he now has to protect the woman he loves because every victim of the current serial killer is a woman.

And each is named Sara.

NIGHTFALL is the 7th book in the Chase Dagger series.

This book was really good. It is the last one in Chase Dagger/Sara Morningsky series for now. Copyright 20015 but maybe Lee Driver will write more. I love the characters - even photographic memory Einstein! Chip in Dagger's head - shapeshifter - hawk - wolf!

Ms Driver's newest release in the Chase Dagger series reminded me how much I've enjoyed this series!!

What I liked: The mystical and science of two different characters forms quite a team. Dagger has been scientically enhanced in so many ways, he still doesn't know exactly what he can do and his love interest and co-star in the series, Sara, is a born shapeshifter.

This series has built upon each book to add just a bit more to the mystery surrounding Dagger. In Nightfall, we learn a whole bunch more. The writing is top notch, the characters are interesting in a different sort of way and the mystery/suspense element keeps you on the edge of your seat and flipping pages!

IF YOU'VE NOT READ THIS SERIES BUT ARE THINKING ABOUT IT...STOP HERE...SPOILERS FOLLOW...

It's a treat to see Dagger and Sara finally getting together and the relationship is very well done by Ms Driver. The love and sex aspect of the story does not overshadow the characters or the plot. I feel Nightfall is even more character driven than some of the previous books. It did take me a bit to remember just who was who as the books are published so far apart and Nightfall's plot is a sequel to book 2, Full Moon, Bloody Moon. It took me a bit of skimming book 2 to remember everything that happened.

While Chase and Sara are the main characters, the secondary characters are just as well written. I love to hate Jennifer and boy, I still can't believe some of her actions in Nightfall. I did miss the postman, Simon, popping in and offering Chase and Sara advice but his absence was for a good reason. And Skizzy, the paranoid, everything's a conspiracy, friend is written very well. Everyone needs a Skizzy in their life. Just to get me riled up, Ms Driver, surprised me with the fate of one of the characters.

I also enjoyed learning more about "Mother" and her interactions with Chase and Sara. There were a few other surprises dealing with some of the characters too that I didn't see coming.

What I didn't like: After all the set up of the bad guy plot, it ended a bit too abruptly and easily for me. It felt like from the time the bad guy was revealed until his dispatch was a couple of pages.

This is fast becoming a pet peeve of mine but the title on Goodreads does not indicate this is book 7 in the series. If I didn't follow Ms Driver and receive her newsletter, I would have thought Nightfall was a standalone. If you pull up the paperback version on Amazon, again, no indication it's part of a series but the Kindle version does list Nightfall as part of a series. Barnes & Noble also does not list it as part of a series except in the synopsis. I don't want to research books in a series, I just want to read them!!

The Chase Dagger Series must be read in order or you're going to be completely lost and not invested in the characters or the continuing story line. I eagerly await the next installment.

Point of interest, Ms Driver also writes the Sam Casey Mystery Series under the name of S.D. Tooley. I love that series too!

Overall, I sincerely enjoyed Nighfall and recommend it to fans of mystery, fantasy or science fiction.

If it’s been awhile since you’ve read Full Moon, Bloody Moon, then you might want to do a reread of that book first as this story has a direct correlation to what took place in that one. I would not suggest this book as a place to start if this series is new to you. Mostly a mystery, but with elements of horror, science fiction in the form of technology—at least I assume it’s science fiction—as well as some fantasy.

The curse of the Addisons lives on only it’s not quite in the manner you would expect, and our bad guy is trying to find Sara; the only other shapeshifter known to exist. The stakes are much bigger this time. Paul is dead; they know that. But somehow this guy knows every little detail about the murders Paul committed. The next full moon on a Friday the 13th is only weeks away, so the regulars, along with BettaTek now that they’re forcing Chase to work with them, are trying to figure out who this guy is and what his connection is to the Addisons to stop him before that day.

The mystery and how they go about tracking down leads is, as always, interesting, as is the larger integration of BettaTek into the ongoing storyline. But what really grabs me the most are the characters. I love both Sara and Chase and boy has she developed a backbone. Skizzy’s quirks and fears add some light comic relief, as does of course, Einstein, their incredibly smart macaw. And it surprises me that I actually felt sorry for Sheila at one point; but don’t worry, it doesn’t last long.

The back story keeps growing into something larger, helping to prevent the series from becoming stale.

This is the second in this series that I have read. I just loved this one. I like that it has a creepy theme and imagery, and has the shifter stories showing the good in everyone. Basically this is a continuation of Full Moon, Bloody Moon where there is a monster out there killing people, but this time he's looking for someone specific.
Sara is a shifter, and the only one of her kind they know about besides the monster. Now the monster is hunting her, searching for all single women, named Sara with long brown hair. The art gallery part of the story is creepy..not an exhibit I would want to go to!
Anyway, I still love the characters and they have been further developed in this story. If you like shifter stories, and a bit of the creepy you will enjoy this book.

I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I was not paid in any way and all opinions are my own.

Nightfall by Lee Driver is a mystery full of suspense and intrigue. Danger at every corner. A tale of one man trying to figure out the case of who the murderer is. Someone is killing and killing many woman with the name Sarah. One particular woman with this name is the love of one man tracking the killer. But there is so much pressure and so many questions left yet to figure out. Can one man solve it and save his love from a dangereous monster or will it be too late? Lee Driver’s novel is fast-paced, full of action, and his words leave a chill down readers’ spines. I highly recommend this terrorfying yet brilliantly well-written novel to all. Once you read it, you will be lured into murdereous plot unlike any other. Nightfall is a indeed a must read.

I received a free copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Paranormal whodunits, with shape shifting characters, this book is long on gore and short on plot. As I have not read any of the other Chase Dagger books, I was somewhat confused and it took me a while to sort out the characters.

The curse of turning into a bloodthirsty predator has been passed down through the genes in the family. So, although Paul Addison is dead, the curse is still very much alive and well. As more and more victims are discovered, Chase realizes the woman he loves is in serious trouble, especially since all the victims have been named Sara, his girlfriend's name.

If you want a chip than can read all your thoughts and acts like a computer, this book is for you.

I received a free copy to review. This is another book in the Chase dagger mystery series. to get more out of the book I recommend reading Full-moon bloody-moon first. this could be rad as a stand-alone book, but it ties in with the other book so much more. This book is about some paintings that emerge with details from the crime scenes in full moon bloody moon. it was really cool how it was all tied in! the only reason i did not give it 5 stars was because it was not as faced paced as full moon bloody moon, it still had a steady plot though!

I have been eagerly awaiting the next book in the Chase Dagger series. The saga of Chase, Sara and their assorted admittedly interesting friends always leaves me wanting more.

This work had quite a few surprises for me. Casey, Addison, and even Mother kept me reading.

It also had me laughing out loud - Skizzy and Sara at the gallery opening alone is well worth the read.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys shape shifters, mysteries and a dose of intrigue.

Nightfall is the 7th book in the Chase Dagger series. It is a sequel to Full Moon-Bloody Moon (Book 2) and combines mystery with urban fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. Readers not familiar with Full Moon-Bloody Moon may want to read it before Nightfall. The ebook version of FMBM will be free at all sites for the entire month of May.

I won this book through Goodreads First Reads.

This is the first book I read in this series, so at the beginning it was a little bit confusing. Nevertheless it is easy to read and I liked it. I would not recommend to read it as standalone. I am sure that I would have enjoyed it more if I have read "Full moon - bloody moon" first.

I really like the Chase Dagger series, but I prefer stories that don'the feature Betatec, the shadowy agency that has its hooks in Dagger. That jiggle aside, this was a pretty good entry in the series.
