3.5 Loki Renard is such a great story teller, though for a short book, I found this one took a bit to get through.

Mara was sent on a mission to find water. Odd I know. But the mission really wasn’t for that. The elders’ set her up. When she is rescued by Freak, she is grateful but enchanted, than angry. Freak escaped being a lab rat and was on his way back to his home realm when he sensed Mara. Once he saved her he knew she was his other half. A part of him that would cam him rage. He wanted nothing more than to care for her and make her his pet.
This story is a world beyond. Mara lost her father a while back and is the last hope, she thought, for her people. But they betrayed her. Freak is “gifted.” His people, Psyon’s, are sort of time travelers. They are able to repair rifts, ensure that fate is followed, never violence. But within all this a mere human is brought along. You have to give it to Mara she is a fighter. But the compassion she receives from Freak is never ending. They end up having to fight not only the betrayal of his people but of a Lizard King. I have to agree with what Freak does towards the end. It changes the path but it also gives back what should have been. I know sounds weird but you have to read the story to understand. In the end, two lost souls find each other. Forever together.

This book like the ones before it always paint a lovely picture of the universe around it just enough to give you a glimpse of what you need and the rest is up to your mind to connect, the play on timelines and spacetime was a lovely change you don’t see in a lot of books and made me feel happy and giddy I read it, and while normally the fate of the first timeline the met in ended badly it was nice to see him work his way back to her and giving just enough info of her own world and how he may have had a huge hand it building it, possibly in multiple timelines. The spice was on point, you got just enough scenes of it to keep you tingly but not to many to deter you from the story, all and all a wonder read and would recommend.

Aliens and Pets
Don't let the title fool you! It's is so much more. Loki is a never-ending source of great reads! You must read this book. It is a joy to read. It’s not like a sweet hometown book but, more like aliens and humans against the universe! Freak aka Taslin has just escaped from the mad scientists that have held him for years performing torturous experiments on him. As he is escaping, he hears someone drowning’ in a spaceship? He saves her. And their adventure starts. Freak wants to, almost feels a compulsion to keep Mara, something a Psyon does not do. Psyons are the greatest aliens to exist. They can bend time and travel through the universe through portals. As with all “great beings” there are over the top power-hungry ones. There are a couple of triggers, so I suggest you read them.

Fun read—but I wish there was more.
There is a pattern to all elements of this book: I wish there were more. This book moves super fast, but I wish there was more. I love the world-building that is present, but I wish there was more. I love the characters that are shown, the bad guys that are presented, the tension that is displayed…but I wish there was more of all of it. Slowing down the pace, showing more of what is developed on stage, having variety in the pacing—it all would have really elevated this book. Even the twist—which I did not see coming at all! 🎉—was over too fast. I wish there would have been more time spent in the end section of the book. Spread things out, let me really FEEL the stuff going on, etc. However: it was still a fun book and I don’t regret reading it at all.

He rescues her from drowning and decides to keep her. He likes praising her and talking dirty. He is an alien who can bend time. He was betrayed and experimented on for 3 years. He wants revenge.
They get a happy ever after.

She crashes into a new world
Owning His Pet is a book that you need to know what to expect before you open it up, as otherwise you will not like it. If you do pick the story of Mara and Freak be prepared for some darker themes but they are delivered with some humor and action/adventure. Mara crash lands on a planet a light year away and ends up being rescued from drowning by Freak. He is definitely not human and decides to keep Mara as his pet. She puts up a fight but finds she just can't do damage to the super tall, blue and covered in scales alien. She will continue to try to escape, as he is trying to steal her from herself after all. Freak will handle this the only way he knows how...rough and intense.

excellent!!! ⚡️😚
Loved 🥰 this story! I picked it on a whim to read and wasn't expecting much, but how wrong I was! It has so many layers to its characters, aliens, space as it's seen and controlled by Pynthion aliens. The descriptions are very skilled and makes me truly engage into the characters and plot. Tasin a Pythian with vast powers ⚡️ than was held captive and tortured but escaped, he rescued Mara who was going to drown in her spaceship 🚀 underwater! He takes Mara as his "pet" wow! Read this!

2.5 Stars Rounded Up
I picked this up for the alien smut based on the title/description. The first half delivered and then the second half was trying far, far, far too hard to not be alien smut which was disappointing.
There were parts where I think the author may have edited a section out and forgot to add bits back in, but then later referenced the parts that were left out. A bit confusing since the section that was missing was the part that was mentioned in the blurb and there was only a short mention of it before it was over.

The characters were very appealing and complex and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and pretty straightforward. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

TOTALLY EXCELLENT
This is one of the BESTEST stories that I've read by Loki. Course I truly LOVE all of Loki's stories, but this one just really grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. Looking throughout the realms for that certain someone, willing to give up everything for them. Thanks again Loki, you're my Favorite Author and I can't wait to read more.

A good read. The world seemed complicated at first but when you read more in the story , it becomes easier to understand and more enjoyable. A lot of spicy scenes and a happy ending that makes it all worth it. Recommended!.

loved it…
Well… if you’re looking for something ordinary then this book is not for you. If you’re looking for different, Alien, other worldly and full of discipline and punishment mixed with a whole lot of learning each other’s ways then this is it.

Weird and Wonderful
This was slow to progress, but we finally get the story and then our happily ever after. For the longest time their was an awkwardness to this story that made me almost put it down several times, but it ended well.

I have read other books by this author that are definitely better. I disliked the ending - it really didn't flow with the rest of the book and lacked a satisfying resolution for his planet's ruler and her role in his abduction.

Dimensional
Mara and Freak are worlds apart in physicality, experience, customs, technology and more. As usual this authors creates great worlds and characters, high heat, domination, punishment, adventure and danger.
