Five Allied commandos
One secret Nazi experiment
Zero chance of survival

In the middle of World War II, the Allies get wind that the Germans are making headway with their nuclear research. Once they combine this doomsday weapon with their newly developed unmanned missiles, the Nazis will be able to take over the world.

An international team of Allied operatives is tasked with infiltrating Italy in order to destroy the secret nuclear facility. Seems easy enough until their plane is shot down over France.

Led by grizzled OSS operative Parker and SOE agent Wesley, the team must fight with the French Resistance before they can make their way across the border to complete their mission. Only the Germans will stop at nothing to foil their plans...

This is a fairly run of mill WWII commando adventure story. It was an enjoyable read whilst at the same time not doing enough for me to make me want to rush out and read more by the author. There are one or two noticeable editing errors (use of wrong word that kind of thing) but not enough to spoil my reading of the story.
Where the story lets itself down for me is in the fact that it all seems far too easy. For example their transport plane crashes in France rather than taking on to Italy as was the plan but this doesn’t even appear to slow them down as they are still able to reach the target on time.

I really enjoy WWII secret mission thrillers. This looked to be quite interesting, it was not. The writing is not engaging and the characters are not particularly fascinating, the premise is weak and the dialog is not appropriate to the 1940's. I am not normaly so critical but I just could not get into this book. I only finished because I paid for it.

Thia ia a WORLD WAR II novel taking place eary in the war. The author has done his homework and ir reads as a true tale. There are many twists and turns with one last big one that I didn't see coming. I satayed up late to finish it as it was very enjoyable.
