Girlll…
It is exactly 4:03 am I have stayed up all night reading this. Started off slow and I was about to give up but I said no let me continue and I’m so happy that I did. Upset that it’s a cliffhanger for the simple fact how long it was but can’t wait for part 2. Please don’t wait too long bc I usually get uninterested when Its not a standalone but I’m looking forward to reading this! Good book and Ms. Truth got some ish coming for her and her mama knows it. I hope Kaison not the daddy

A whole 406 pages (e-book) and its a TBC???? Amai is punk. He's supposed to be the Demon of NOLA? Yeah right. He letting all these women run him crazy with his simple self. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT and waste of time.

Good storyline…
This book has a good storyline, however, there is soooo much repetition! Now chile ✋🏾😌🤚🏾, this could be just how my brain registers things. But, I found this to be a writing quirk that the author has. I’ve noticed it in another book/series of hers as well.
I—I liked reading about Amai and Truth’s journey to wherever they are going…b/c honestly, this is for sure a slow 🔥burn. Girl, I got to the end of the book, and I realized they’ve only held hands! 🤭 Dats it! Sure, the emotional pull and claim is there, but that fire, passion and heat has not happened yet.
I find that Brickhouse knows how to pull you into the story and be descriptive! She sets the scene up nicely. Then somehow, it becomes overly descriptive. Things that were mentioned previously, are mentioned again and again and again. Instead of moving forward, we’re reading the same breakdown of an emotion, or thought or importance of a moment. Dialogue b/t characters tend to have the same cadence and word patterns. Phrases are repeated. It’s a writing quirk that makes me deep sigh when I see it. So much so, that a few times, 😟 I was tempted to dnf.
But I gots to see it through my boi 😌
Like I said, I liked reading about Amai and Truth! I want to see their ending! But not just the MMC & FMC, but these other characters as well 🤔 I need to know their motives and see their demise 😈

When I started Pregnant By A Rich Demon: An Unhinged Romance, it instantly gave me memories of Bankston and Aurmoni from Surrogate to an Unhinged Mafia Boss. But the deeper I got into Amai and Truth's story, the more I realized these two are playing an entirely different game.
Amai Landry and Truth Renois are connected by desperation—he wants an heir, and she needs a way out. Add in a father obsessed with preserving his legacy, willing to manipulate his own sons to secure an heir, and the pressure on the Landry men becomes impossible to ignore.

This was like a 3.5. I liked how she showed us every thought the characters had. It helped build the pace of the story but outside of that, it fell flat. The two main characters barely acknowledge they're in love and I thought Amai's love life would be cold and clinical like the rest of his life. So, it's sort of unbelievable to me that he can't handle 3 women lol sorry 4 women. 😂 It was hard to figure Amai out...was he a demon? We barely saw any scenes unless he is featured in a previous book? I liked Truth. I feel like we really got to know her and we were on that pregnancy journey along with her. Which at some point wasn't necessary. Felt like a lazy storyline. Brickhouse could've been a little more creative and daring with the storyline. But it was an okay read. It didn't really end on a cliffhanger because I don't know how much damage, him having a wife will cause? 🥴 I think the plot with the brother was interesting...now what will create some interesting tension but I doubt the author will take it there. Anywho, I'm curious to see how it ends so I will continue reading the second part. Hopefully it isn't a long drawn out series of books 🫠🙃

The right amount of the Boss, Fine, Mean azz MMC to have you route for him to get what he wants. I immediately fell for Amai and Truth and constantly await them taking it there. This was just supposed to be a contract but there are things beyond her honesty and willingness to ask the right questions. His lifestyle is one of the reasons he's afraid to take it there beyond business. Not because she's not on his level or anything like that. He just wasn't trying to go there with anyone at all, hence with his mother's perseverance, he starts a situationship with Nasty Alexis, nah I'on like her. This is to try to keep his developing feelings for Truth from going deeper. Too late.
Does his lifestyle put Truth and their unborn in harms way. Can they detect the enemies right under their noses and the same roof sometimes. It's come to a crossroads with an unexpected visitor resurfacing, but for what? Loved this from beginning to not so much the end!

Long for no reason
I honestly dont want to read pages upon pages about IVF process, doctor appointments, and pregnancy sickness ect. I would've rather had the behind the scenes of his father being nefarious with the sperm and the doctor, and this phantom Opp that aint bust a grape in a fruit fight, or this right hand man that literally doesnt nothing but observe. Also, we got 3 sisters, a functioning alcoholic of a mom. This book has all the keys to be high drama, but its flat because all side characters are one dimensional and doesn't have chapters. The brothers chapters were weak too because he doesn't work or even try to repair his brothers relationship. Just a Crack pot skeem to I guess be with the surrogate.. sooo much more couldn't been realized here instead we get weak dialog with every people asking "do you?" As if thats such a witty comeback. Ugh so frustrating

Ooooh!!!!
Chileeee this book is messyyyyyyyyy!!!!! I am wayyyy too invested for this book to have left off like that. I knew it was something but I didn’t think it was gon get like that! Amai got wayyyy too many irons in the fire for me! How you got a gf,a wife ,a baby mama and doin the chef?! Sir you ain’t tired?! And poor Truth she just floating along going through it!! 100,000 richer but still chileeee she need to put her foot down!! Honestly as bad I wanted Amai and Truth to make it come together I wouldn’t be too mad if Kaisen stepped in for her! He need to hurry up and tell her wassup cus when she find out on her own it’s up! That daddy need to find him some business too! Makin stuff complicated for no reason! I really enjoyed this book I can’t wait for part 2. 10/10 highly recommend

This was a slow burn and I skimmed the majority of it but babyyyy the messiness and drama is there and I can’t wait for book 2! Now Amari you pissed me off starting a relationship with Alexis when you was falling for your surrogate!!! And I know that she was feeling you. Yeah she was playing a role but you presented yourself to be into her!
Now Kaisen boy you playing with your life! Why are you pursuing Truth?? What’s going to happen when the lives merge? I do not like how the daddy is playing you and using your sperm and basically stealing your future kids!
Truth- delayed not denied. I loved your resilience and your perseverance. You didn’t let the money distract you or keep you quiet. You told Amari how you felt and didn’t let him play with you!

CLIFFHANGER?????
I knew when I was getting to the goooddd part and I was down to 95% of the book it had to be a cliffhanger!!! Absolutely loved how this author drew me in with familiarity especially since it’s based in New Orleans…. Loved how the characters eased into play seamlessly… Brickhouse is an amazing author and definitely takes you on a journey that you never want to end. Pulls you in as if you were right there with the characters going through everything they are going through. I’m feeling so sorry for Truth now cause none of this she’ll be prepared for buutt then again she got sisters and a mama that don’t play about her… So I can’t wait to read Book 2!!!! Keep writing and I’ll definitely keep reading!!!🥰

This was such a great read!
Now Ms Author Lady Brickhouse what the whole heck! That ending has my mouth hanging wide open! Amai is too invested now, Truth is falling hard and then there's Kaisen developing feelings as well. Too much, too many questions that I need right now lol!! Poor Syx, he's been through hell. Alexis thinking it was more than a distraction and now in walks Yahmaria, unwanted, still a situation not handled and Rahsaan circling! This story turned out to be so much more and and I will be waiting on pins and needles for the continuation of this twisted love fest! The only small complaint I have is the repetition of describing a lot of things in the storyline, really not needed to move the story along. Great read even so!

First off this was an excellent book. I don’t like Alexis. She’s messy and tries to play innocent with what she did with Layla the chef I truly want Amai and Truth To be together, but I see they gonna go through a lot before they can actually be together cause his brother is scheming. His dad is scheming Danny. He has to deal with the Black people, basically his enemies, but I do believe. Truth’s mom is going to figure out something is off about Amai brother not girl why you drop a bomb on us with that heathen of a ex-wife of his Yahmaria we already know that she is about to be a great big problem can wait for book 2 hope it don’t be long cause the tea in here is hot lol

Demon?
The title did not fit the story. I like the book and the drama it brought. Winston was the Demon. A horrible father‼️ Kaison was pathetic. He wanted to be seen so bad, he should have went to Amai and told him the truth. Maybe that would have brought the Demon out of Amai.
Amai lacked controlled. He couldn’t even control his emotions. He dated Alexis because his mother wanted him too, scared to admit feelings, and asked how to handle situations that she should have known how to handle.
I hope the baby belongs to the one who really wants her and willing to risk it all for her.

Overall 3.9/5. Spice 1/5. Amai is a ruthless business mogul who is essentially sterile and feels the need to hire a surrogate, Truth. They start developing feelings for each other when they are supposed to adhere to the very clear contract. There are other issues: his family, his sexual relationships, his estranged wife. I appreciated how they ended up together out of separate but essentially equal desperation. I’m not a fan of love triangles and there were a couple. I’m also not a fan of abrupt, to be continued endings.

I want to like Kaisen but he really gotta give me something to work with cause it seems like he been causing issues. That Daddy Winston he just seems vindictive. I really hope Truth don’t get caught up in something that she absolutely have nothing to do with but the way Amai life is set up all hell is about to break loose.

Let me start by saying I LOVE a surrogate trope, but Amai has too much going on for me. He’s effing the chef, True is pregnant, whatever he’s doing with Alexis & he has a WIFE. Then his shady brother & father, the nephew got PTSD, chile I was overwhelmed. Also a lot of the book is repetitive, especially when it comes to how he feels about True. Decent plot but in my opinion not the best execution.

Enjoyable Read
Its been awhile since I've read this genre of book. It came up while scrolling social media. I enjoyed it despite it having grammatical errors and some repetitive moments. I liked this book I need to know who spills the tea Truths mother or Kaisen. Truth is a strong willed woman. I hope she choose the right man.

Great read
Oh wow I really wonder how this is going to play out. So much lies surrounding round Truth. I wonder who will see end up with an when they find out what Kaison been doing what will happen... Amai need to really get his life together an its spiraling an he love control. Cant wait for pt 2.

Oh wow I really wonder how this is going to play out. So much lies surrounding round Truth. I wonder who will see end up with an when they find out what Kaison been doing what will happen... Amai need to really get his life together an its spiraling an he love control. Cant wait for pt 2.

Where is part 2 we need it now because what in the world is going on with Amai. He is in love with Truth, he has a girlfriend and then to find out he has a wife is crazy work. I hope him and Truth get together. I pray that baby is biologically his and not his brother’s Kaison’s baby. This book got a lot of drama.

Slow moving
The storyline had the potential to be very good. However, after reading over 400 pages, this should not be “continued”! I need a story this long to have closure. Additionally, there are too many repeated scenes and lines - which contributed significantly to the length. So with the wife returning, we now have 400 more pages to read! Wow!

This story is good for me to get into...im trying to figure out what made him being nice to one person was written like world War eight...
The concept of the story i love but the repeated content and pace and all the way to alot of petty upper end ppl...not sure
