Curvy, human, Rebecca Sumner had been surprised and afraid when she found out bear shifters existed, and made the biggest mistake of her life. When she happens to witness two cat shifters perform a terrible crime, they want her dead, and she returns to the one man who promised to protect her at all costs.
As Lead Enforcer for his clan, bear shifter, Logan Price, divides his time between maintaining the safety of the bears, running his private security firm, and hitting the gym. He trusted his mate with his secret six months ago, and then watched her run away in fear. Pride kept him from going after her, and he’s since resolved to live his life mate-less.
Rebecca is the last person Logan expects to find on his doorstep, but despite his anger and disappointment from their last encounter, he honors his vow to keep her safe. Their chemistry is even hotter than it was before, but Logan can’t have a mate that hates bears, and Becca doesn’t want a man that isn’t in love with her. When the cats attack, Logan must make the ultimate decision to safeguard his mate.
For a short book you wouldn't expect it to end at 88%.
These two had some serious communication problems. She ran then comes back, then he turn cold after they're together intimately because he thinks she'll leave again.
There was so much potential for this book. Everything was underdeveloped from the main male character to the main female character. I have read plenty by Ruby Shae and can honestly say this just needed more!
Genre: Shifter Romance Part of a Series/Installment: Standalone/Cliffhanger: M/F-M/M-M/M/F-etc: Multi-Luv'n/Ménages: Was There Descriptive Sex: Contains Cheating: Amount of Sex in The Book 1-10: Overall Steam Factor/Chemistry: HEA/HFN/etc Ending: Any Triggers/Warnings:
My thoughts: This is what I call a fluff book, it’s a solid read. Keeps you entertained for a hour and then it’s done. Perfect for those nights you can’t concentrate or do not want to get immersed in a longer read.

A quick enjoyable read. I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing a greater sense of reality to her story. Given the length of the story, that's saying a lot.
The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end. The chemistry between the H and h is great plus their attitudes and events going on make the story even richer.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Sometimes reading about miscommunications is Aggravating, but Ruby still makes it fun. I enjoyed their mental musings and was happy when they began communicating. I do wish it would’ve happened earlier in the story, and had a bit more story after they fixed their communication challenges.
The perfect start! When two people let their pride keep them apart, only a threat can bring them back together. This is a great case of communication breakdown. Over and over again. I’m glad they were able to find their way in the end.
First Ruby Shae I’ve read in a while and just as great as I remember. Her stories and characters are so full of love, excitement, heat, and a bit of danger. Well rounded and perfectly put together.
Bear Shifter Needs To Save His Runaway Mate OVER18 READING
For bear shifter Logan he is so happy when his mate returns even if it's just to ask for help. They will both be surprised to discover the other actually wants them for life. Logan and his team must save her for him to ever have a happy ever after.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A bit darker and more suspenseful, this story blends romantic tension with action and danger. Logan and Rebecca’s fraught relationship, built on trust and fear, provides emotional depth while the threat of violence keeps the plot brisk. It’s a strong addition with a good mix of heat and heart.
Whats a human to do when she finds out the guy she is dating is a bear shifter?? In this case, she runs. Once she has some time to process, she accepts it but realizes the the man didn't chase after her.
Logan's pride doesn't allow him to chase after his human mate. However, when she shows up at his door needing protection, he can't turn her away.
Can these two work out their differences, communicate and also save her from the danger that is hunting her?
This is a really short 36 pg story but it’s written very much like a short story where are we jump in right in the middle of the rise. Given the 2 characters already had a past it was easy to by past the chemisty building. I quite liked this story. With this novel, unlike most erotic novels, the sex didn’t over take the book but added to it. I liked that aspect.
6 months ago, when Logan revealed to Becca, his mate, that he was a bear shifter, she ran. Now, having witnessed a crime, she remembers his promise to always protect her and runs back to him. Becca realizes her mistake in leaving in the first place but doesn't admit this to Logan, who thinks she's only there for protection. So he's a little wary to jump into bed with her and Becca can't understand why he's so distant.
This is fairly standard fare for this author. The story is short, sweet and engaging. The sex is very graphic and IMHO not really all that steamy (having read multiple books by this author in a row it feels like the same old thing - you may disagree if reading for the first time). My low rating here is primarily because of the use of a trope or assumption that seriously pisses me off. When a man puts himself out there and reveals a secret and the heroine runs away, she's just rejected him. And so, when that guy doesn't immediately go running after the heroine to follow up, he's simply being respectful of that woman's wishes. If she'd changed her mind, she'd come back. So I was seriously fuming when Becca said that the reason she didn't come back was because Logan had let her go and if he'd really wanted her he wouldn't have. And she actually blamed him for their separation because he never came after her. Then she had the nerve to get bent out of shape when he didn't get all affectionate with her after they'd slept together. Like he needed to state his intentions. His were clear from the start and hers were not, so when she is actually putting blame on him when she never once groveled or stated her intentions to stick around and see it through, I couldn't even start to like her. I almost put the book down when she did blame their separation on his "letting her go" when she's the one who disappeared. Grr.

Ruby Shea write some of the best paranormal books out there! This one did not disappoint! Logan and Rebecca have issues to work out, and they mess up by their own success every chance they get! What did I love about this story? Even though I haven't read the series back to back, I was still able to get the connections and fall in love with the characters. The editing was flawless. The dialogue was snappy, and there was no cliffhanger! You really can't go wrong with a book written by this author, and this little story just supports that theory. Buy it now!
This was an O.K. read. There were positives and negatives for me. I enjoyed where Logan and Becca's story was going and the pages sizzled. No doubt about that. It was way too short, which did not allow for the author to fill in nor expand further about the story. This is too bad because the story could have been so much more. I would think that good beta readers should be able to assist the author with honest feedback. I beta read at times and authors appreciate it. I guess for a short read it is just O.K.
Sorry! I like Ruby's books, just not as much this one. The characters seemed to switch back and forth in their personality traits. He's decisive and sure, then he's wishy-washy. She's scared and running from people yet she parks 10 MILES away and walks so that they won't find his house? One mile I can see, 10 just doesn't fit when cat shifters are trying to kill you. I will keep reading Ruby Shae because she makes me smile and her books are light reads.
Usually I love all stories by Ruby Shae but in this case it just seemed choppy and too fast. Shae has the ability, as a writer, to create worlds and relationships that make sense in short stories. However, to me in this case, it just didn't follow through. The story was very engaging and you will love the characters but the flow of the writing was off. It is still very worth the read!
Becca and Logan fit this to a T! They are both so sure the other doesn't w ant them that they haven't stopped to actually ask the other how they really feel trying to protect their hearts. This was a hot quick read that had me laughing out and eager for the next page to come. Will definitely be reading more by Mrs Shae
Sweet story. The beginning started really fast without knowing much of their history. I did miss that part. However, it didnt take away from the story in my opinion. It was shorter than some of her other stories. I think my favorite line was...."That's Bearshit!" LOL....she then laughs at her own joke and he rolls his eyes. HAHA. Cute story.
Kindle unlimited book. No cliffhanger. She ran from him when she found out the truth about him being a shifter. Six months later she back because he's the only one who can protect her. Will he turn her away? Can she except who he is? Good read. 3 1/2 - 4 star read.
This is the first story in the series that lacked pretty much everything. It read like a rough draft. The ending was rushed and felt like a couple of chapters were missing. A lot of detail was missing too. I really enjoy this series but this story majority missed the mark.
