A friend, LAPD Sergeant Gabe Roca, helps Char get a temporary job in a P. I. Agency based on her experience as a Military Police Investigator (MPI) in the Army. An attempt is made on the Agency’s owner which puts him in the hospital and his partner, Gwen, is murdered on a stake-out. Char puts her analyzing ability to work and is able to solve the crimes, but not before she, too, is threatened.
