Have you ever wondered what a magical life looks like for someone who isn't an absolute beginner, but doesn't claim to be an "Ascended Master" either? Adventures in Woo Woo is a refreshingly honest collection of diary-style essays by Irish artist, writer, musician, and chaos magician Tommie Kelly.
Part magical diary, part field report, it documents the real successes, the genuine failures, and all the awkward bits in between of trying to live a practical magical life—Chaos Magic, meditation, sigils, ancestor work—without recycling the same occult theory you've already read a hundred times.
What sets it apart is the hindsight. For every original blog entry, Tommie has gone back and written a fresh commentary: where he was wrong, where he still struggles, and where time has quietly proved his past self a fool. It's an occult book that argues with itself—and often loses!
Whether you are struggling to get a return on your magical investments or simply looking for an occult author who is willing to share the honest truth of the journey, this book is for you. Adventures in Woo Woo is a reminder that you don't have to be perfect to be a magician—you just have to be willing to look at your own shadows, keep practicing, and always remember to eat the Ice-cream!
I gave this book 5 stars for the author's honesty, humble nature, non stop determination, and fun little exercises to get back in the game. I'm not really big on visualization exercises as I consider them self help/psychology but the ones he had at the end of the book were fun. The one I liked the most was the grenade launch. His bibliography reading list has all the essential for nlp, films, shows, books, efc.
I'm extremely excited to get hold of volume 2 where he expands on 2017 onwards from his other blog posts and ideas he's worked with. This is definitely worth picking up and nobody has any excuses not to as its on kindke unlimited for free.
