Do not read this without reading whole series. I got to chapter 3 and had to quit, the reference to a house fire, Larsen, etc were not summarized at all, had no idea what was going on. Then the references got important to the story, had no idea what was going on. Award winning author does not know how to connect information from previous books. Terrible.

I tend to love most of Dee Davis' novels and this one was no exception. It was a little different from her novels that I started out reading but still very much intriguing. She definitely delivered on the plot which contained a good amount of suspense and action. I admit I found Riley a little weak at first with the way she was living her life for her father but it wasn't a huge deal and it began to even out to allow the book to remain enjoyable. It was quite the journey watching Riley and Jake sort out their personal issues and their relationship. Good read.

Confusing.....

At the beginning, I was quickly becoming confused with so many different character's popping up that I had a difficult time connecting with the main characters. But as usual with a Dee Davis story it was riveting by the middle!
