Chapter 1 was an absolute mess that was difficult to get through to be honest. I’m glad I went into this already having enjoyed the anime, because I knew it was worth plowing through. If this had been my first exposure to the story, I don’t know if I would have bothered completing the volume. However, the readability and jokes substantially improved in the subsequent chapters of this volume.
...Except for Chapter 8.5 (the “Exclusive One-Shot”). That was so unnecessarily repetitive, and the first half was especially difficult to get through (the second half was alright). I know the author had the downside of needing to reiterate the story for those who didn’t read Volume 0 (or who were catching chapters here and there in Jump), but it seemed an odd choose to tack this particular overly lengthy chapter at the end of this volume, which had already included reiterations of Kusuo’s powers.
This might not have bothered me as much if I hadn’t read this immediately after Volume 0 (though the first few sections of this chapter was pretty annoying in general, so I might have had an issue with it regardless).
I still really enjoy this series, but I think it’s one that for me may work best read as a volume here and there, rather than back to back.
I really love how random this series is. It use the same technique as Gintama, tomo 1 where usually it has a bunch of stupid friends and one normal friends who says how it should be. The difference about this manga with other gag series is that the main character is the straight character, it has many monologue which usually boring but it's really fun in this series. I really enjoy this manga.
3.5 the series is interesting enough just finished with the first volume and on to the second one. being a guy who has extraordinary powers comes with it's downfall its amusing enough but not too over silly like some of gintama, reminds me of sket dance
My sister and I watched the live action movie version of this manga and I laughed out loud a lot which is very rare. I got the comic book and it was equally funny, especially the protagonist’s inner monologues were so articulate and funny that I seriously think the author can be a professional comedian on tv. I think my favorite character is Nendou. He’s so hilariously dumb. I don’t know if they’ve already published English translation of this manga but I hope they do cuz it’s really funny and entertaining. Highly recommend. Five stars.
Funny read to take the mind of other things. I've seen the anime beforehand and I have to admit, had I not seen it, I don't think I would have continued with the series. The manga is good tough, but to me, the story translates better to anime.
Since it it a gag manga, don't expect an overarching plot. You can read most chapters as stand-alones, it's only at the end of the series that the chapters become more connected.
Heh, I technically read all of them but if I include them it'll just look like I'm padding up my reading challenge (81/55 books read just seems a bit much to me, heh...).
this is so much better in anime format doe.... as a manga it just doesn’t work as well. anime is 5/5 but manga not so much... no cops at pride just saiki k
It’s an alright manga so far, the story’s a bit dull and the arts pretty good and I kinda like the main character so far! I have high hopes for this manga so I hope it gets better ^.^🤔😁❤️❤️
It’s easy to understand just by looking at it and combined with the anime it’s very good! It isn’t in English but I can’t complain there it’s still good.
