When Dominick Cavallo first saw Allegra Anderson, he knew instantly that she was the one for him. Unfortunately Allegra Anderson, best-selling author of erotica and self-confessed clutz, didn't even know he existed. That is about to change.
The night Allegra's house mate Cassie insists she come out clubbing with her is the night that fate intervenes.
From the moment Allegra sees Dominick at the club when he rescues her from the unwanted attentions of another man, she's spellbound by his stunning good looks. His black hair, startlingly blue eyes and the way he speaks to her, has her totally captivated by him. He is the sexiest thing she’s ever seen and the attraction is instant and intense.
Dominick disappears not long after Allegra meets him and she’s devastated that she may never see him again. A week later, he reappears, when she least expects it and she learns something about him that could change the way she feels about him. He is not human, he is vampire.
Dominick is different to the other vampires. He has no desire to live their lifestyle but they are a part of his life whether he wants them or not. Allegra doesn’t want to be part of that lifestyle either. When she meets Domick’s sire, the brooding but sexy Fabian, she feels both unwanted attraction and fear for him. Fabian makes it clear he wants Allegra for himself and he will do anything to get her, even if it means destroying Dominick and Allegra’s relationship.
Will he end up driving them apart? Will Allegra be able to come to terms with what Dominick is? When something unexpected happens, that will change who she is forever, can their love survive?
With Allegra's discovery of her newly acquired 'abilities,’ suddenly everything changes. Will it all be too much? Will Fabian succeed and ruin everything? Can Dominick and Allegra survive all that is determined to tear them apart or will love truly conquer all?

From my teenage years, all I wanted to do was become a writer one day. Even now as an adult woman with three children who are not so little anymore, I've always lived with my head in the clouds, a dreamer, often amusing myself with my own imagination. It might have taken me awhile to finally live my dream, but I did it. I hope to one day be good enough to stand beside the many talented writers out there who have kept me entertained with their wonderful stories over the years. I live in a sleepy country town in Tasmania, Australia with my three children, my little dog who thinks he’s a Dobermann. I've had to overcome many emotional obstacles along the way to get to this point and attempting to self-publish a book does tend to make a person feel like they've thrown themselves in at the deep end of the pool. Here's hoping some of you actually like what I write and save me from drowning in the deep end as I probably forgot to mention, I can't swim. J. A Melville.

This book is a true treasure to have in your possession. Dominick is one hot vampire. I'm not one to read this type of book. But it totally changed my mind on this. Dominick has a kind soul and isn't really into the whole vampire thing. He wants to live his eternity as close as he can to human ways. He will not disappoint in the sex. One delicious scene after another. Set back and get ready for one awesome story.

DNF AT 30%

I found myself repeatedly making notes throughout the book and all of them were negative.  Most importantly I found that there were a lot of things that just didn't make sense about the book, and many things that didn't "add up".  I'll leave this review brief because it was a DNF for me, personally, and I just plain couldn't go on reading any further.  I tried.  It isn't often that I DNF a book.  I can pretty much work my way through anything, even if it is a book genre that I'm not interested in but paranormal romance is my all time favorite so to DNF this book means that I found this story to be significantly poorly written.  Here's why:

Once the author addresses the characters, giving their descriptions and lightly touching on their personalities and such, she introduces the two main characters: Allegra and Dominick.  First, Allegra?  Not my favorite.  But my opinion doesn't matter as I'm very aware- all I can think of is medication everytime I read the name.  She is called Allie for short, thank heavens.  Also, to touch on the names, Dominck refers to her in almost every single sentence of dialogue as "cara"... Which I'm understanding is something to do with the Italian language?  From what I read the reasoning behind him repeatedly calling her this was not addressed in the reading.  Furthermore, soooo annoying!  When reading dialogue the characters do not need to call each other by their names/nicknames in every single sentence.  Does it happen in real life?  No.  Think of a conversation that you would have with your significant other, mother, father, or children.  For instance: "Erika, your hair is looking great today."  "Erika, can you pass me the salt?"  "Erika, how was the traffic on your way home from work?" "Thanks for cleaning up the house today, Erika, it looks nice."  "Wow I just love my new phone, Erika."  Annoying, right?  Ok.  Moving on...

Clearly the hero, Dominick, is head over heels for this woman or so he says.  But after 30% their relationship was showing me no signs of emotional feeling for each other- it was purely physical.  Every single second they spent together they were having sex.  The first time Dominick comes over to her house they screw all day, she falls asleep, and he LEAVES!  Sounds like love to me, eh?  The next day he comes over to her house and all but barely makes it in the door before he tells her to wants to butt---- her. Hmmm, ok.  My points proven.  Granted, I LOVE LOVE LOVE a good sex scene in a book.  No, I like to read quite a few sex scenes in a book, good ones- hardcore, slutty, gritty, making me hot scenes but the scenes in this book didn't portray any of the things that I just listed, at ALL.

Now I understand that I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review which is exactly what I am giving.  I know ARC's need edited and such so obviously I'm not going to comment on the misspellings and grammar issues- I'm in no way, shape, or form a gramma nazi.  Mine isn't perfect by any means.  But the book just didn't make sense.  The context was all over the place, the storyline (although I couldn't really put together what it actually was in my head) was flat, there was very little dialogue, and I couldn't really put a plot together in my head from the 30% that I did read.  I actually made a note at about 20% of the way through the book saying this:

95% sex and useless descriptions to fill up pages, 3% informative and pertinent information, and 2% dialogue.

^that is how I categorized the 30% of the book that I read.

**as I always remind other potential readers: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT let my review deter your decision on purchasing/reading this book!  I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Just because this book didn't work for me doesn't mean it isn't a hidden gem for you.  I always recommend to EVERYONE that if you are on the fence about purchasing/not purchasing a book- read the sample!  There are plenty of books that my friends have given low ratings or DNF'd that I absolutely loved!  It's all in your preference.***

This was a great story about love and betrayal and a lot of supernatural elements.

I loved Allegra through out the whole story. I loved how everything came into place for her although she definitely didn't have an easy go of things. She was strong and vulnerable at times and really had to do what was right for her. She loved Dominick but definitely didn't have it easy with the trouble Fabian was causing.

Dominick was a great character. He was a young vampire who had needs. He was written differently than other vampires I have read about as he requires sex and blood to survive which is different than other books. This definitely spins the story a bit differently as it puts his needs into question with Allegra when they are having issues. I still thought he was a great character and I loved his devotion to Allegra.

Fabian was definitely an interesting vampire who was used to getting what he wanted and wanted to eliminate any threat to himself. He decided he wanted Allegra and didn't care that she was in a relationship with Dominick. He was prepared to go to any length to hurt the two of them and for that I really didn't like him at all. By the end of the book I definitely hated him.

This is a great series introduction and am I really curious to see where the series leads!

What a wonderful vampire story! This is a very well written tale about finding love and discovering that the person you love isn't who you thought they were. When the one you love wants to change you, can you accept changing everything your life has ever been in order to stay together? The characters are well developed and the storyline flows from the pages and right into your heart. You feel for the anguish the characters suffer. The sexual energy that flows between the characters is palpable and the sex scenes are incendiary.

Allegra Anderson is the writer of erotic novels but that doesn't mean she has a hot and heavy sex life herself. When her roommate Cassandra takes her out to a club one night Allegra feels like she is being watched but when she leaves the club she is attacked by a drunk guy from the club only to be rescued by a mysterious stranger named Dominick Cavallo.

Dominick Cavallo is a vampire and never wanted someone as much as he wants Allegra. But unfortunately he is not alone in wanting her. When his sire, Fabian Sorensen also decides to lay a claim to Allegra she must figure out who is right for her.

Yet unknown to Allegra she has a secret that she is able to use against Fabian but how far will Fabian go to keep Dominick and Allegra apart?

Allegra's character aka Allie is an up and coming author, who is so focused on her writing she forgets to eat, shop and shower! Her best friend Cassie drags her out to a nightclub and here she meets the dark and extremely handsome Dominick (Nick). When Allie learns more about Nick can she accept him and his lifestyle, can they really be together ?

This is the first book I have read from this author and I really enjoyed this book. I love a good vampire read, the passion and chemistry throughout this book is really strong. I felt connected and drawn in from the first chapter making it difficult to put down. Initially I thought the story was little rushed in that Allie succumbed to Nick far too quickly, however I loved that Allie's character is so real and her insecurities with herself were refreshingly 'normal'.

This is a very erotic paranormal read with lots and lots of hot steamy scenes. Oh and what an ending, not at all what I expected ! A great book, I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

3.5 - 4 star review by Nicole McCurdy

I’m still confused about how I felt reading this book. I’ll admit the beginning chapters didn’t hold in a favorable light. For me it read a bit like Buffy fan-fiction or Trueblood, both of which are mentioned a couple of times but everything felt compressed and rushed, immensely so. Dominick our main hero is a vampire who happens to see our heroine erotica author Allegra, or Allie as she likes to be known and almost instantly he’s falling for her and that’s where I suffered a minor setback. It goes from both of them having met for all of five minutes (literally) to having a fairly exhibitionist bout of sex in a car park where for the first couple of seconds Allie wasn’t even sure who she was making out with, and from there it goes to insta-love, mating for eternity territory.

‘I’d met him barely a minute ago, and I was already speculating on what sex with him would be like? He grinned at me, one eyebrow raised, and I felt myself blush. God, did I say that out aloud? No, I’m sure I hadn’t, but the look he was giving me, had me worried that I had.”

The start just didn’t sit well with me but I persevered on and I’m glad I did as the book went down a path I never really saw coming but it was one that made the book infinitely more readable and enjoyable. The writing even seemed to flair and find a good steady steam, with each character developing further and the plot expanding a bit to include a bit of BDSM, exhibitionist sex, blood drinking, fighting and of course the inevitable bite of angst and drama to break up the equilibrium. For me however Dominick was a bit wishy-washy for a vampire. I prefer mine more like Fabian, a royal b****** with acerbic wit, kink in the bedroom and bad boy tendencies. After a great middle and ending I will definitely hang in for the rest of this series especially since Fabian’s story is up next. It started off slow and a bit jumbled but J.A Melville found her feet after the first half and produced a flirty rather fun vampire novel with good drama and an interesting storyline.

Dominick & Allegra….oh my! Hot! Hot! Hot! I thought it was gonna give all new meaning to my Kindle FIRE!!!

Allegra is a writer. She’s living a small but happy life with her best friend Cassie. Being a writer, Allegra keeps to herself but Cassie see's it as her best friend duty to make sure she goes out and has a good time at least every once in a while. One night the two of them go out and it will forever change Allegra’s life.

Dominick is vampire. He’s vampire trying to live as close to a normal human existence as possible. His sire, Fabian, doesn’t like this. When becoming vampire you loose your human emotions and move more into a basic animal needs type of person. This isn’t acceptable to Dominick and it makes things difficult with his sire and brothers & sister. They don’t understand……

Allegra will understand. From the moment he sees her he knows she is the one that is to be his forever. She knows it too….she can feel him, sense him and she knows when he’s around watching her. He can’t stay away from her and quickly takes her to be his. She is powerless to fight it because she has a strange feeling that she’s supposed to be with him. She can’t reason with why but she just knows this man is the one for her.
Allegra slipped to the floor, moving between Dominick’s legs, her hands cupping his face. “Listen to me and get it through that gorgeous head of yours, I love you, only you. I will love you for all eternity. I will love you no matter where we live. I only want you. I only need you. You are all I care about so please, stop questioning whether I will be happy baby. I will always be happy as long as I’m with you.” She leaned forward to kiss him and Dominick felt desire flare between them.

This review is really hard to write. I feel like I can only talk about the first quarter of the book because I really don’t want to give away any spoilers. So much connects and happens and it’s completely amazing. If you enjoy reading anything paranormal you need this book!!!! It’s so amazing. The only thing wrong with it is what I now call The Bastard….Fabian!! He’s awful, controlling, cocky and just plain mean. But doesn’t every vampire story need someone to hate?!?!? The thing that’s really gonna be interesting is how they sorta cheat him in the end and the fact that his book is next!! I can’t help but wonder if a woman would soften his Bastard’ness?? (yes I know - that’s not a word! LOL)

The romance between Dominick & Allegra is so amazing and such a true love story. I highly recommend this book! You won’t be sorry!!!

Holy flipping god! For the love of Vampires! Everyone has their own version of Vampires. Some sparkle, some have a sign on their forehead. In Passion after Dark there is a twist that I wouldn’t have thought of.
We meet Allegra who is a writer, an erotica writer at that. Her and her roommate head out for a night of fun. They are dancing and getting slightly drunk. But all night Allie has this feeling like she is being watched. We all get that once in a while don’t we?
Allie’s intuition is right though. She is being watched. She is being watched by the sexiest vampire EVER Dominick. Holy cow I wouldn’t have thought of a sexier vampire in my life. The way he is built, his tattoos. Don’t get me started on the tattoos. OMG there is this one tattoo that me drooling.
Dominick is caring, always wanting Allie’s approval before he does anything for her and to her. But yet he is demanding as well. Even though they come from 2 different worlds Dominick knew she was the one for him. He just had to convince her, she was meant for him. You know how I said each author has their own version of vampires? Yeah Jacqui’s is different. I don’t want to give too much away of how different hers are. But I think I like this version a little better. NO they don’t sparkle.
Dominick and Allie are happily in love. But his sire has other plans. Fabian sired Dominick and basically Dominick has to go running if Fabian says COME. Fabian is drawn to Allie and he wants her. He wants to use her for sex. But it never happens. There is a secret being had here that I am not letting out. Let’s just say after certain events with Allie, Fabian has no rule over her. I mean I hate Fabian. He thinks he is god. He can just take whatever he wants without thinking of other people.
They have the best vampire sex ever in this book. It is like sex on a stick. But it has you panting. I want hot vampire sex after reading this.
I loved this book. Not only was the sex hot as hell. The way you become a vampire is different, there is even witches in it. So you have a paranormal, erotica romance all in 1 freaking book. The way it ended though, yeah I wanted to throw my kindle. I seriously can’t wait to read Book 2.

Instant the blurb drew me to sign up for this tour, I do love of bit of fantasy from now and then. As i start reading the book, my mind just couldn't help but drift of to Twilight sage but of course it totally different part from its a vampire that met his destiny and reason to live more. Anyway, Passion after dark definitely has the right title, it was extremely full of passion. Lots of steamy sex scene, nearly every other page, vampire love sex and bloody of course! Sometimes i do think there is too much sex i want to know the character more other than i know they have perfect psychical attraction.

Dominick was the vampire in the waiting shadows for the love of his life, which she yet to know, he is attracted to her instantly and just couldn't stay away from her, becomes a addiction, a drug but he lives a different life from his brothers and sister, which doesn't mean he's a vegetarian, of course bloody and sex is there life as a vampire but he might have found the one he want commit too.

Allegra a passionate erotic writing, loves nothing more than compete her book but she isn't has successful in love or having any action as the characters in her book. Until the night she met him, her body was just screaming for him and she just couldn't stop thinking about him. At one point she thought she was just dreaming about him but oh no, sex on legs came looking for her and hemps of passion.

The start of the story was intriguing but then it didn't really develop, I didn't feel much of the chemistry, well it wasn't strong for how the story went. There had a lot of barriers to cross and walls to climb but I didn't feel the emotion or attachment grew stronger as their relationship goes. However, towards the end there was a little interesting twist that was a little surprised, What do Allegra decided and who shall she pick and do?

Overall, it was enjoyable read maybe more into the story building, I can't believe I'm saying this maybe a little bit less of the steamy hot scenes. But there were hot! I was quite happy with the end and she has left a intriguing hang from one of the other main characters.

Read if you love a bit of fantasy, hot sex and believe in true love then give it ago....

This is a review for the series books #1 through #5.

I normally do not read vampire stories. There I have said it. My last encounter with vampires was reading Anne Rice and crew of vampires. Their thirst was their way of expressing their primal bodily lust... therefore no sex, but they were full of attitude, jealousies, and thirst (pun intended) for power and control.

Reading the synopsis for this series by J. A. Melville had me intrigued on her take on the vampire life. I NEVER read Twilight... yes I am one of the few! So I decided to give these guys a try.

Out the five books out, my favorites were the first two, although the other 3 books were just as good, I must admit Fabian and Dominick were my favorites. Fabian with all his control issues is a favorite and his story is rather unique.

Dominick's story centers on the fact that he is a vampire looking for the love of his forever life. The struggles he goes through not only to convince a human that he is in love for the first and last time in his "life" is one of the reasons to read this book. Where previous vampires may have been unable or too moral to have sex with their prey, this new breed of vampires must have sex just as much as they must have blood. I would not be wrong to state that what you are reading here is vampire erotica. The sex is raw and explicit as well as full of passion.

In Fabian's character we have a controlling vampire who can be both sadistic and tender without batting an eye. He is the supreme vampire and he knows it. Witches are not his favorites and he would rather be far and away from them. He is cursed by them - or so he thinks. He is in for quite a surprise as he meets one witch in particular who will spin his world out of kilter and well as his "un-beating" heart.

All the stories are unique. This is a different vampire breed than the norm. The writing style of our author is worth praise. She depicts the surroundings, the passion, and these characters in such detail you will wonder if she actually has met real vampires in her life. I hope not, for her sake. These guys are not to be taken lightly!

Erotica author, Allegra Anderson, had writer’s block and was on a huge time constraint to finishing the third novel in her series. The last thing she needed to do was go out for the evening with her house mate, Cassie. Little did she know she would meet her inspiration to complete her novel.

The moment vampire, Dominick Cavallo, set eyes on Allegra he knew she is his. Problem is his sire has also set his sight on Allegra.

I enjoyed that the story was told in a two-person point of view. Allegra’s commentaries are pretty entertaining. Dominick’s viewpoints as a vampire are enlightening. J. A. Melville did a good job making you feel like you were reading two different points of view.

The main characters are multi-dimensional. Especially Allegra whom showed a lot of growth through the novel, her confidence gaining as the story went on.

I’m not really sure why, but I found it amusing that Allegra was an erotic book author. I think partially because I know an author wrote about being an author. Additionally, until she met Dominick, she was a bit of a loner and a homebody. She definitely was not writing from experience. That is until she met Dominick.

There are a lot of hot sex scenes in this book, but it also has a good plot. The ending had an unexpected yet believable twist. This is definitely an adult only book for people who enjoy vampire romance.

Allegra just lives her life to write her erotica romance. She is lucky if she remembers to shower and buy food. her roommate and best friend Cassie is always trying to get her to go out and meet some men. Finally she allows Cassie to talk her into going out to a club. All that night Allegra felt as if someone was watching her but she never saw anyone. After one guy she dances with gets a little to fresh a tall hot and according to Allegra beautiful man saves her. Then he disappears. But he didn't go far. Dominick the beautiful vampire knows that Allegra is his soul mate and now he just has to convince her of that.

This one hot steamy read. The characters are awesome and I would love to see Dominick's tattoo. There is a lot of depth to the characters, they are well developed. Even the secondary ones. I am not sure if I liked Fran and I down right hated Fabian. That is a sign of a great story, when you can feel real emotions for the characters. I can't believe I am going to say this but there was to much sex in the book. yes it was some hot sex scenes but it seemed like every time that the story line got going they would stop and have sex. I get that vampires need blood and lots of sex, but massive amounts of sex does not a soul mate make. I would have liked to see more getting to know between Dominick and Allegra. Wonderful read for lovers of erotica and para-normal romance.

First let me just say that this is the first book that I read from this author.

OH wow I have to say that this is the right name for this book, I love it but of course I love anything that has to do with vampire. I love the characters and love how this book turned out, this was one Hot sexy book and it did not disappoint me at all.

The story begging with Allegra, Allegra is a author she writes erotic book, but her sex life is something else, that all change the night that her best friend took her out to a club, that's when she meets Dominick, now Dominick is one sexy man, after meeting Dominick for few minutes that night, she did not hear from him for a week, during that week Dominick couldn't stop thinking about Allegra, when she came out of her editor office she end up running into Dominick, that was the first night that Allegra new that her life was gone change for ever.

Love the sex scene and love the way that they behave with each other, and love it how Dominick made Allegra feel, and how he just told her what he was gone do to her and do it. I really love and enjoy reading this book, let me just say it made want to go and find me a sexy hunk like Dominick. Author J.A. I am a huge fan of vampire stories and this one did not disappoint. The characters were really interesting and the storyline was engaging and kept me guessing. I found myself eager to find out what would happen next in the book and ended up reading it in one sitting. There are a LOT of sex scenes in the book so it is definitely

Dominick and Allegra have an immediate attraction to each other and a really intense relationship. Dominick tall, dark, and handsome. He’s a vampire but not like most. Unlike most of the vampires in the story, he has a heart and tries to act more like humans than others do. Allegra is a erotica writer and doesn’t think much of herself despite her beauty and success as an author. I really liked them as a couple and I think they compliment each other very well. I really wanted to strangle Dominick’s sire, Fabian, a few times. He seriously had me seeing red a few times during the book. We don’t see much of Dominick’s two brothers but the rest of the characters had personality and I thought they were all well written.

The storyline was a little different from what I have read in the past in these kinds of books so it was a nice change of pace. It kept me engaged and intrigued as to what would happen next. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading Fabian’s story in book 2. I’m going with a 4 out of 5 stars on this one.

Dominick Cavallo knew Allegra Anderson was the one for him the moment he saw her. Allegra is taken in by Dominick’s good looks and gives in to her desire to be with him. Dominick can feel Allegra’s desire to be near him as well. Their relationship begins and you find out if they will survive Allegra finding out he is a vampire. If that isn't hard enough you add an interested Fabian to the mix. Will Fabian, being Dominick’s sire, take Allegra for himself? (Sorry, there will be no spoilers for you here.)

I would have loved to see more riveting sex scenes. There were a lot of descriptions in the book but they were not so much tied into the real meat and potatoes of the characters themselves. I felt there needed to be more meaningful dialogue with emotion and description. A bit more touched on their personalities would have been good as well.

Reading a book with a great story basis that has things about the writing that does not pull you in is hard for me to review. Did I enjoy the story? Yes, of course. Were there specifics that could have been improved on to keep a connection with the characters and made the reading smoother and more enjoyable? Yes, to that as well. All in all it was a good read and I would be willing to try another book by this author.

Good luck to the author with everything past, present, and future.

I received this book from Sweet 'n' Sassy Book Tours in return for a fair and honest review.

This is the story of Dominick (Nick) and Allegra (Allie). She is an erotic romance writer and he is a vampire. When they meet at a nightclub Dominick immediately feels a connection with her, as well as instant lust, and wants to know more about her. In turn, she is fascinated by him and wants to spend more time with him although he disappears when her roommate turns up.

If you are wanting a book where vampires are more... intellectual, clever, ripped - choose your own words... then this is not the book for you. In this book, the vampires are more in tune with their 'baser' instincts and compare themselves often to animals.

There is a lot of sex in this book and as such the dialogue takes second place and comes across as quite stilted in places. I would have liked to have seen more about them falling for each other rather than just rampant sex every time they met. They are supposed to have this amazing connection but it seems the only connection they had was sex apart from a few vague mentions as the book goes along.

I liked the ending and am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Passion After Dark is the first book I've read by J.A. Melville. I'll say up front erotica isn't my first genre of choice, but I couldn't put this book down!! The author throughout the book stuck to two points of view: Allegra, a homebody erotica author, and Dominick, a very handsome, well endowed vampire. The main characters, as well as supporting characters, were very easy to get to know. You are able to adjust quickly to the changing point of view, and many times see the same plot through 2 different set of eyes. I found I liked them very much, and could relate to Allegra very well. Even the supporting characters were easy to like or dislike, depending on which one you pick! haha As a whole, this was a VERY well written tale of love, friendship, family, and YES plenty of very IN your face sex. The ending took me by surprise, and made me very happy in many ways. If you're looking for paranormal erotica, look no further! I look forward to starting the 2nd book in the series. This book is one of the few of my favorite reads when it comes to paranormal books! It has tons of exciting sex scenes, a ever lasting love, an evil pain in the rear bad guy and girl, and most of all it has the craziness that I look for in a good erotica paranormal read!

Allegra is an erotica author who has a house mate and a couple of loving pets! But she's not the partying type of girl who just uses her money from her book sales much! She would rather save! From time to time she goes out with her friend to enjoy an evening of fun with her best friend and house mate! On one night I particularly she mets a sexy man who drawls her in like no other! She just can't keep him out of her head long enough to concentrate on anything else!
Dominic is a vampire and he has been looking for his one true love to spend his life with forever! As she walks into the bar he knows that he has found her! He watches her from afar for awhile then when things get a little hairy for her he makes his move! One thing is for sure in his mind he feels the absolute drawl more now then he did when she first walked in!

Love, danger, exciting sex, a hot vampire and and crazy ride! A great read!

Passion after Dark (Passion 1) J A Melville 4.5 Stars

This was an interesting take on vampires. Dominick is part of a group led by his sire Fabian. Fabian controls his group of vampires with an iron fist. They must submit to his wishes or lose their ability to walk in the sun.

Dominick wants to live more like a human. On his own and to love one woman. And he knows just the woman he wants. Allegra is an erotica writer who's in a bit of a slump romantically. She lives through her characters but even they seem to have deserted her. Her roommate encourages her to get out one night and she is instantly drawn to Dominick but he disappears on her in the middle of the club.

Dominick pursues Allegra, wanting to make her his. The ups and downs of their relationship is backdrop to some really hot sex scenes. And this is where JA Melville shines. Let's face it that's what we read erotica for right? There is just enough plot and character development to make this an interesting story. I will not be reading the second book only because I am repulsed by Fabian and cannot see ever liking him.

Our 4 Star Review

Allegra just wants to be left alone to write her books, but when her room mate and best friend Cassie drags her to a club her life will forever be changed. Dominick sees and smells the woman he knows will forever be his, he has to find a way to convince her they belong together and with his unique life it may be a harder sell than he first believes. Can they overcome it all and be together in the end or will they be torn apart before their time?

The warning on this one is not one to be ignored. Seriously there is ALLOT of sex scenes throughout. This is not a book for younger audiences or the faint of heart. That being said those scenes were seriously HOT, like need a fan to cool down steamy. Beyond that though I wish there would have been more to the story, more to their backgrounds and more dialogue between the main characters like them getting to really know each other or something. There were times I just wished for more detail. Overall you get a sense of what's going on and it makes the story okay, but this is more hot sex than an in depth type of story.

**SPOILER FREE**
This is a great story. It takes you on a trip with Allie, who writes erotica but has a sad love life. When her and Cassie, her roommate go out one night, Allie has a feeling she is being watched everywhere she goes. When she is being man-handled at a club, a gorgeous stranger with mesmerizing eyes rescues her. Allie feels pulled to the stranger and wants to know where he went and who he is. When she finally meets Nick, she can't believe that he is just as drawn to her. This story has a few twist and turns and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love beta reading for J.A. Melville. Congrats on another great book.

This book was incredible, I loved the passion and HOT sex and the way Allegra and Dominick were together. I found it difficult to put my kindle down, to be honest. I love how Dominick or Nicky spoke to her in Italian…so sexy!!! The storyline was intriguing and I found myself feeling apart of the book, I shed tears in specific parts and honestly felt what the characters were going through. The ending was OMG….J.A Melville has written a wonderful story with heartfelt LOVE and a HEA.

i gave this book a 3.5,,the story line had potential but i couldn't really relate to the characters, the book seemed rushed, lots of errors, at one part in the book Allegra is going to see about Nick and he is suppose to be dying and she is worrying about her outfit, she wants to look good?? i didn't get it plus in one part they talk about how vampires do not breath then in another part she talks about their breath, ? confused me. anyway doubt i will follow up with next book:(

Wow Dominic and Allegras story is amazing and I loved every paranormal an sexy situation! The twists and turns bring out the most amazing story of a vampire and witch that you could ever read! I hope there's more to come after this book!
Witch meets vampire and things become a twisting, turning, majorly sexy situation! But there's one person who doesn't want them together. Will they survive him and live happily or will death come for them both!

"Eternity is a long time." Sexy times abound in this book. There is a good story in between all the sex scenes (lots and lots of sex scenes). Good characters, complex feelings and emotions. Great antagonist and great resolution to conflicts. Very enjoyable. I could reveal more, but I don't like to give away spoilers, so you will just need to read on your own to find out the end result of the story. <> I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
