On the run from the most savage prison in her world, hiding out in a Scottish forest, Solitair finds a shifter wolf pup caught in a brutal trap. His (much) bigger brother, the alpha, thinks she is the hunter and attacks her.
Big mistake.
This girl can fight back.
Sol would rather kill a wolf than trust him. Alpha wolf shifter Mac, living under the radar in the human plane, is intrigued by the mysterious girl with enough anger-management issues to detonate a grenade just by scowling at it.
And she has secrets—almost as many as he has.
When Mac gets close to figuring out Sol’s secrets, a couple of gods on the sacred plane think he’s right. Which is a problem.
Some secrets can blow lives apart.
If you love a fiercely independent heroine, a possessive alpha romance, and sizzling tension, dive into this fated mates werewolf romance.
UNDER THE SAME STARS (the prequel) and THE THIRD STAR (Book I) are both part of a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers wolf shifter romantasy series with a fierce MFC who does not take sh*t from anyone, even if he does have nice eyes.
The series took me by surprise. It started off as a project to see if I could do it and turned into a labour of love. I'm currently working on Book II, with a working title of THE LOST SOUL .
SOLITAIR is an angry, traumatised girl with a hidden heritage that could blow her life apart—and the life of anyone who loves her.
MAC, the alpha wolf shifter, made the Scottish Highlands his home after a brutal cull in his own world wiped out his family when he was nine (and guess whose mother was responsible for that...). He's intrigued by this willowy girl in the forest whom he was foolish enough to attack. His nose is still throbbing.
I loved that these characters took over this story and made it their own. I just feel like the Chronicler. I'm writing it down as they tell it, trying to get the balance right and do it justice.
I love the world they come from (the Mids; just a swish of the veil away); and the Scottish Highlands where they end up, in the human territories. I love that wildewitches and wolf shifters live side-by-side with bear shifters and shapeys (you'll find out in Book II) and some forest beings who are a lot older than they seem.
I love that Mac's den is a castle, that his pack—his family—is important to him. And that he recognises and respects the ferocious fragility of the girl he met in the forest. A girl who is scarred, inside and out.
I like how he's staying this side of controlled and circumspect around her. For now.
The heat will increase in this slow-burn romantasy as Sol and Mac's epic journey continues. But please note, although the tension and angst will be high, I don't plan on leaving any bedroom doors open. Are you kidding? If he didn't kill me, she would kick my ass from here to the sacred plane. I think I'll step quietly away.
Anyway, they'll have enough to deal with, taking on a genocidal monster who's slaughtering mystics and bringing war to the human plane; convincing the Fae to join them; and finding the Hàrrdragons up beyond the Wilderness. If they don't get eaten first.
Not to mention that wee time travel trick wildewitche Ferral is brewing for book II. There's a time for everything, right? ;)
She'd better get it right this time (no pun intended).
War in one realm is bad enough. But in three? It could get bloody.
ARE YOU A REVIEWER? I'm currently looking for ARC readers to join my team for Under the Same Stars (ARCs open until 10th August; book launching 16th August, 2026) and The Third Star (launching end September 2026).
Please PM me if this sounds like your kind of book and you'd like to join the team. Thanks!
I was a little confused at first, I felt like there was information I was already supposed to know, but didn't. There was a lot of information on the world very quickly, which seemed a little overwhelming. After getting the bases of the world established the story flowed freely.
Solitair is very interesting and complex, I can't wait to see more of her character and learn about her past. Her relationship with Mac will be fun to see grow, I'm excited to see how it develops.
An deep and expansive world with conflicted characters that grab you by the throat from the first page. Finished in two days and absolutely loved it!!!
