November 22, 2022Granted, there are some good ideas and thoughts in this book, but I will not recommend it. Early on I was alarmed at the author's mention of attending a "Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola" silent retreat. The author repeatedly references this retreat and by so doing gives tacit endorsement.
While I cannot judge any one's understanding, not much research needs to be done to learn that such a retreat is not anything a discerning Christian should take part in. Ignatius may have begun with pure intentions but history shows he quickly descended into occult practices and soon after founded the Jesuit order, which on the surface has been presented as a noble institution but diligent research reveals an extremely dark underbelly.
The author also promotes ecumenicism, a popular movement that aims to put all faiths on the same level but the Bible clearly informs the world that the only way to the Father is through His Son. Again, diligent research should be done.
And last, the logo for CCA is a pyramid with the new age slogan "I Am" in the center. A wise reader should be awake to this deception.
To repeat, to be fair there were some beneficial ideas in this book and I do not wish to be overly harsh, but "even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:14)

Great foundation to start, with examples and stories, of beginning to apply God's way to the marketplace.

Good read. One of the first books I’ve read on Christian leadership. Had some great ideas on ways to implement Christ into your business to glorify God in you workplace.
