What's next when your happily-ever-after turns into the never-ever-again of widowhood? Delve into the Book of Ruth for remarkable direction, hope and purpose drawn from the lives of ancient widows, but fresh and applicable for today. Twenty five fictional postcards bring Bible characters to life and show their individual journeys through grief; short chapters speak to widows' unique challenges with journaling exercises that gently inspire the reader to take the next step.
I a study for widows written by a widow. I have never seen the book of Ruth presented in the briefing of a widow though it's about 3 widows. Studied this with a group of widows and the author. amazing. I'll do it again !
As suggested by the author, I first read the postcards at the beginning of each chapter. Then I went back to the beginning to read the entire book. I quickly discovered I was not ready for it. By the time I got to a Chapter 3 I found that I was not far enough on this path to continue right now. I was not ready for the self reflection at the end of each chapter. This will go on my shelf until I am further along on the path.
