I really enjoyed this small town cozy mystery full of quirky diverse characters and I found myself giggling at certain parts of the book. I loved the name of the bakery “The Rolling Scone”. And especially enjoyed Biscuit the cat with an attitude and Dot who knew people who knew people and could find out anything if she dug around long enough. Maeve inherited her aunts bakery and of course on the first day of the reopening a guy who has more enemies than friends ends up dead at her bakery. There are certainly many suspects and some surprising secrets that come to light that keeps you guessing until the end. Just a really interesting cozy mystery.

Death by Darjeeling is the first of a new series, new Author for me.
Maeve Sullivan now runs the Cafe she inherited from her Aunt.
She also inherited a very cute dog and a rather judgmental cat!
When a man is murdered in her Cafe, she must clear her name
And keep her Aunt’s- now her business open. She begins asking
Questions - the detective asks her to let him do his job.
Maeve does get help from her regulars - who knew and loved
Her Aunt. I didn’t guess the culprit here - it came as a surprise.
There is clearly a thing with the detective and hopefully will be explored in future books.
I liked the book, but I didn’t love it. I couldn’t warm to the characters. But I did love the
Dog and cat. Will try the next one in the series.
