Rate this book
Featuring updated author commentaries, this is an internationally bestselling selection of the famous seer’s most relevant prophecies

Nostradamus is widely known as the greatest diviner and visionary who ever lived. In the whole of publishing history, only the Bible has sold more copies than his prophecies, which have been in print since his death in the 16th century.

Using a revolutionary new analysis of the secret dating of Nostradamus’s prophecies, The Complete Prophecies for The Future reveals startling new interpretations, offering answers to relevant questions: Is the demise of the British monarchy inevitable? Will there be a Global War—and, if so, what will this mean for the world’s climate?

Nostradamus predicted the Twin Towers disaster of 9/11, the 2003 Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, the devastating tsunamis of 2004/2005—and he foretold the future for decades to come. Thanks to Mario Reading’s groundbreaking translations and sharp, knowledgeable commentaries, readers can now scan the future history of the 21st century—before it happens.

Prophet or PROFIT?

I really wanted to like this book more than I did, but I can't justify any rating over 3 stars.

I love reading books about conspiracies, UFOs, paranormal situations and the like, so this title certainly piqued my interest. I purchased it a few months ago before the US Presidential elections and finally had a chance to read it. By the time I reached quatrain 8/15 boldly claiming the outcome of the election (Hillary Clinton would win according to the author's interpretation) I became very suspicious.

The book starts with 16 plus pages consisting of an introduction, a preamble, and a biographical note. Right away, I sensed that the author was already spinning excuses as to why some of the quatrains in the previous editions of this book were off. He also bragged about some of the others coming true, while even laying blame on himself for being off by a few years. "I meant to write 2008, not 2028" for quatrain 8/28 (the financial crisis/recession). I also took note that he has revised this book twice since its release in 2006: once in 2010, and again in 2015 (the edition I have). Not to the fault of the author, I have learned through research that Nostradamus's prophecies are usually (and disapointingly)calculated through a process known as retroactive clairvoyance. This involves going back AFTER an event has occurred, and then matching it up with a quatrain or event. Here's an example of retroactive clairvoyance:
Quatrain 8/15 as mentioned above reads "The masculine woman will exert herself to the north. She will annoy nearly all of Europe and the rest of the world. Two failures will put her in such an imbalance. That both life and death will strengthen eastern Europe."
According to the author in his summary, this was a sure fire prophesy of Clinton's inevitable victory. As we know, this wasn't meant to be, but let's look at the quatrain again. He can easily go back and edit his summary to match that quatrain to Germany's Angela Merkel, or, South Korea's president Park Geun-Hye. That's a perfect example of retroactive clairvoyance.
The author never makes clear his method on how he deciphered the years to the events in the quatrain. The method was briefly mentioned in the introduction, but it is vague and confusing. Nostradamus never mentions exact dates, and upon my conclusion from the explanation, it appears they were "cherry picked" and can be deciphered to fit a number of years if they matched up according to the astronomical charts. A chart, or a list of references from the author with the years would've been appreciated. If his methods are complex as I'm certain they are, I'd like to see him release another revision or stand alone title with the years listed with the quatrains. Perhaps Nostradamus was predicting events running in parable with the years to have history repeat itself.
With all of that said, this book does have value for those looking for entertainment rather than research and facts. The author was honest explaining his revisions in the introduction. Nostradamus's dialect and wording is very fluid, which should be kept in mind when trying to decipher them. In order to further understand the quatrains, it would be wise to read up on subjects such as the Kabbalah, and Book of Enoch.
Nostradamus The Complete Prophecies For The Future is a paperback worth the $20 (US price), which I prefer over the ebook version, currently priced at $6.99. It's a handsome book, worthy of a slot in the bookshelf. It's fun to read, but no more than coffee table literature. I look forward to seeing if the other near future events come true or not, but with retroactive clairvoyance, I look back at quatrain 2/95 in the beggining pages which reads: "Power will be given to overcautious fools."
Digest that with a grain of salt and tread carefully thereafter.

This book was more of a glimpse into the mindset and biases of the translator than anything else. The biographical information at the beginning was really the only thing I liked about it.

Creepy how the date of the death of the Queen was accurate but that's it really. The prophecies are so vague and strange, you can make any kind of meaning out of them to fit current events. I wasn't really convinced.

MARCO READING NOSTRADAMUS THE COMPLETE PROPHECIES FOR THE FUTURE

This book was a hoot. I would like to give it 4 stars just for the sheer entertainment value, however a more critical level is the 1 star rating it has. Marco Reading takes the prophecies of Nostradamus and uses them to foretell the future. Many of the prophecies are ambiguous and require a huge leap of faith to get what Marco Reading is taking from them. There are some universal themes: conflict between Christianity and Islam; global warming; and the Antichrist that are given much attention. So let’s take a closer look:
even when the book was first published in 2005, global warming was a serous issue; there has long been conflict between Christianity and Islam; and predictions of an Antichrist predate Nostradamus.
I found Marco Reading’s interpretation of many of the prophecies required and enormous stretch of the imagination. Some of the claims were very sketchy and some were plain ridiculous. There are errors: Britain ceding from the EU (2060) it happened in 2020 40 years earlier; XCXXXXXXXX
So this should be read with some caution. I am aware that Marco Reading was considered an expert on Nostradamus and if you want to believe his interpretations of these prophecies for the future that’s okay. However, there are 3 important facts that must be remembered when reading this and other books on Nostradamus.
Firstly he was expelled from the University of Montpellier for being an apothecary and never graduated with a degree in medicine. These details are in the university archives.
Secondly, he never explicitly dated any of his prophecies and those that were dated are vague. Marco Reading has dated all the prophecies in this book, but has not given any information as to how he did this.
Thirdly, the most famous of Nostradamus’s predictions regarding the death of Henri II of France was actually published after the event, not 4 years before. In addition other writers have suggested other people that this prophecy can refer to (Michael Jordan ”Nostradamus and the New Millennium” Ian Wilson “Nostradamus The Evidence”.
All this data can be verified from: Wikipedia; Encyclopedia Britannica; the other 2 authors as well as other sources, all you need to do is do a bit of research.
Given the fact that Nostradamus: wrote in a number of languages; used allegories; borrowed material from other sources (the Bible Greek and Roman philosophers); and the number of very bad versions of his prophecies, it would be advisable to treat both Nostradamus and this book with extreme caution.
Great entertainment, but perhaps not to be taken too seriously.
Another book that I am glad I didn't waste my money on, rather choosing to borrow it from my local library.

What can I say about this book The Nostradamus - The Complete Prophecies for the Future is that it can be all very fascinating, but I myself, as I don't believe in alchemy and even less in astrology, among others, I have the flea behind my ear when these prophecies are spoken. For me, they are not really prophecies, but just theories, ideas, of what can happen in the future. Nostradamus himself may have been wrong in many of his "prophecies" just as Mario himself may have been mistaken in interpreting them. As the author often says, Nostradamus' writings have many meanings and one word, translated or misinterpreted can make a big difference. I also cannot say that we do not stop thinking that everything that is in this book is impossible to happen, quite the contrary, everything that is there is possible and most things today are moving towards making these things happen. I particularly hope that I will no longer be on Earth when our Party period with the police of the idea and ministry of love is in place.

Nostradamus, was a renowned French astrologer, doctor and fortune teller, best known for his book Les Prophéties, a collection of 942 poetic blocks supposedly predicting future events. The book was first published in 1555 and has rarely stopped being published since his death.

Most courts deal with disasters, such as plagues, earthquakes, wars, floods, invasions, murders, droughts and battles - all undated and based on Mirabilis Liber's harbinger. Some courts cover these disasters in general terms; others concern a single person or a small group of people. Some cover a single city, others cover several cities in several countries. A main and underlying theme is an imminent invasion of Europe by Muslim forces from the east and south, led by the expected Antichrist, directly reflecting the Ottoman invasions then in force and the previous Saracen equivalents, as well as the previous expectations of the Mirabilis Liber. All of this is presented in the context of the supposedly imminent end of the world - even if it is not really mentioned - a conviction that sparked numerous collections of prophecies of the time, including an unpublished publication of the collection by Christopher Columbus. Opinions about Nostradamus have varied widely throughout history. Academic views such as those of Jacques Halbronn regard the Nostradamus Prophecies as earlier falsifications written by later hands with a political bias.

Well, ok, then.

I always wondered what the fuss was about Nostradamus, and now I know. Or, rather, I know what the author thinks the fuss is about. I'm not sold. I think this is pretty much like any other "scripture" that is a) really old, b) really vague, c) translated from its original language, d) supposedly prophetic in that someone good at arguing could twist and turn it to mean just about anything they want it to mean.

That people are so willing to believe anything anyone tells them along an eschatological vein is often more interesting than the eschatology itself.

Looking around, I'm pretty sure the human race is doing its damnedest to assure self-destruction. It's pretty obvious any of us who just want to get along are getting obliterated by those who just want to act on their IDs and be greedy, destructive brats, but I don't really believe Nostradamus or anyone else has any special insight into the exact how and when of The End of Us.

Atmospheric bonus factor: read late at night during a thunderstorm, it can be enjoyably creepy.

There is no doubt this is a really interesting book to read but I am sitting on the fence with this one.
The author was honest and enthusiastic in his explanations and interpretations but in my opinion, many predictions may be understood to relate to many different world events and happenings. I think that in the translation of the prophecies, many current events could fit.
The book was written in a way which made it easy to read and I did enjoy reading it but I have to say I remain a 'doubting Thomas '.

I'd give this 1 star but I realize that the ridiculous "prophecies" made by Nostradamus aren't the fault of the author. The author did his best to explain the prophecies and provide his interpretation, however, they almost all seemed like a real reach. I love weird and creepy stuff and was excited for my first exposure to Nostradamus's work. I found myself quickly and sorely disappointed.

Not a fan but I can see the appeal. Honestly, I picked up the book mostly to see what my grandma had always been so enraptured by. She used to devour every piece of Nostradamus media and I wanted to see what the big deal was about. I can see how intriguing it is to look at these prophecies and try to fit it onto the future and the past but a lot of them feel like a stretch. Ultimately not a fan.

I couldn't understand some of the things mentioned in the book, because it uses Christian references, which I'm not so familiar with. I don't really know if I believe in Nostradamus' prophecies or not. It was a bit complicated, but I enjoyed reading it.

The name of the book I read is Nostradamus: the complete prophecies for the future. It is by Mario Reading. This book includes Nostradamus’s prophecies for the past, present and the future. I searched for this book to read my of Nostradamus’s prophecies.
In one of the prophecies it talks about an antichrist. The author speculates that it is Hitler. In another it talks about a “masculine woman”. The author guesses it could be Hillary Clinton. Other prophecies talk about 911, tsunamis, etc. The author uses root words and multiple meanings of a word to help form guesses about what these prophecies mean.
This was a really good book. I liked reading the different prophecies and then the explanations. The prophecies are listed in the book how they originally are, in french, and then translated in English. I also really liked that the author came back and added things to book after stuff related to the prophecies happened. These are some things I liked about the book.
I really enjoyed this book. Others who liked this book my like other books about Nostradamus’s life. People who like other prophets like Edgar Cayce, and Hopi might enjoy this book. This is what I thought about this book. People

It's just horrible what some "Nostradamus experts" do to the poor seer's quatrains. You don't have to look far into Reading's interpretations. Just two examples from the first few "interpreted" quatrains for this review:

Reading makes inexplicable connections between 9/11 and the quatrain where Arethusa is mentioned. Arethusa is a natural spring in Syracuse, Sicily. ArethUSA? Come on.

When Nostradamus talks about isles and islands, he's referring to Great Britain. Reading is oblivious to that fact and claims that one such quatrain is about Guantanamo in Cuba. What?

You can't do that to Nostradamus and his prophecies, squeezing and stretching them until they lose all meaning. You have to let them speak for themselves, not push your agenda.

I didn't want to give this book a review because I don't know if the events that the author depicted are accurate or if he has translated what Nostradamus wrote incorrectly. However, I found this book to be a very interesting read. I learned some things from this book that I never knew, like Nostradamus's wife and children died, which is what makes people think it helped him to be able to prophesy because of the stress/trauma he was feeling after losing his family. I'm very interested to see if the author's translation happens, especially in the time frame he says it's going to happen in.

The author, Mario Reading, truly spent a lot of time on this book and it shows.

This is easy to read, and has all of Nostradamus' prophecies and in order. The book is quite huge, and is needed to be that large for all the information provided. It is a great reference guide.

The book lists each prophecy as such:

subject
date
prophecy
prediction
summary

This is must for all Nostradamus fans!

I think the author was looking for sensationalism rather than accuracy in interpreting the quatrains... His interpretations are sometimes a bit of a square peg stuffed into a round hole, and other times simply absurd. This isn't a book about Nostradamus' prophecies, although they are included for reference. It is just a mental game at interpreting some old, vague bits of poetry for fun. The author applies retroactive clairvoyance with exceptionally little hindsight and zero intuition.

My first introduction to Nostradamus. I took a quick look at the ending and bought it later that day. In fact, I deciphered my own messages with this, some of which the ordinary person may not understand.

Some of the predictions, I didn't understand. I couldn't connect the meaning of some conclusions. And yes, if Mr Reading was alive today, he'd admit he was wrong with some predictions. Ever since my last legs writing Evermore Quatrain, he's been haunting me lmao

There were some very interesting interpretations of the prophecies proclaimed by Nostradamus, including the accurate timelines of Queen Elizabeths death and the COVID-19 pandemic. Other than that, some of the predictions felt very unnecessary and repetitive.

The actual list of prophecies were fascinating to go through, but a lot of the authors deep dives about them felt stretched out and unnecessarily long.

Obviously; the world ends. But, it is supposedly how that got me excited. As the last two lines proclaim: "Not far from the turn of the Millennium, the dead will rise from out of their graves." The Walking Dead, baby!

This is more the author’s interpretations of the predictions than actual predictions. While the alleged text from Nostradamus is available in each chapter, it’s been rewritten and redefined each time. Plus, it’s extremely vague in most chapters.

As with all books written 'decoding' the Quatrains of Nostradamus....they are just the interpretation of that particular author

In this case we have plenty of doom, gloom, wars, pandemics, earthquakes, anti-christ and ultimately the end of all that is......

A little ray of sunshine of a book 📙

Estava com bastante expectativas em relação a este livro. Prometeu tudo, entregou nada. Há transcrições que nem sentido fazem, outras parecem retiradas de um filme de ficção científica ou de terror.
Não aconselho.

Don't vaste money on this book. The author wrote this book from his point of view. It's like watching BBC news. America is great, China is bad, Arabs and Muslims are evil (devil in disguise). Should be written in the third party not how he believes it's happened. Not good book.
