Archer's Dove
In a world of dragons and war, she was his to find and his to keep.
Elaine has spent a year running from the murder of her family, from the untamed power inside her, and from the man who would tear the world apart to bring her home. When a desperate act of magic exposes her in a crowded market, she is seized by the one person she fears most—Luke Archer, the Kingdom's Dragon Commander, who was once her childhood protector. Now he is a cold and possessive warlord who claims she belongs to him.
Hauled back to his impenetrable mountain Citadel, Elaine is caged not just by stone walls, but by Luke’s obsessive need to control the threat he believes her power represents. He trains her, shields her with terrifying jealousy, and binds her to his side with a passion that blurs the line between guardian and captor. However, as an ancient darkness stirs in the Northern Marshes and whispers try to claim her soul, Elaine realizes her power is not a curse, but a key to something far more dangerous.
As enemies close in from every side and shadows from her past return with deadly intent, Luke must confront the consuming obsession that has driven him for a year. In a storm of fire and possession, one truth becomes he didn’t just find her, he’s never letting her go.

About the author
Miranda Vargas
1 bookMiranda Vargas was born into a military household, often moving around as a child. She found her comfort in reading and writing, often choosing to stay in the library for lunch during school hours rather than go to the playground. She grew up on the California coast, and often escaped to the beach to watch the sunset from the cliffs or explore the terrain of the nearby mountains.
She pursued writing, but never found her true calling with it until Archer's Dove, where she realized the worldbuilding could be endless. Stay tuned for the Forgotten Gods series, which is tentatively planned for 5 books.

It has a good plot line and nice set up for a great story, but I was a little disappointed with the lack of character development for the main character. I felt like she had so much potential to grow with her gifts and her story, but she stayed almost the same for the entirety of the book. Hoping with subsequent books her character gets to really blossom to her full potential.
