Paige Barber needs a vacation. She can’t resist her best friend’s offer of a remote vacation home on a private Caribbean island. Jimmy, the sexy pool boy, is part and parcel with the offer. But recently dumped Paige has no intention of taking advantage of that amenity…until she sets eyes on Jimmy. He’s not a boy at all, but the sexiest man Paige has ever met.
And he can cook. Boy, can he cook!
She thinks it will be easy returning to the real world after an utterly wanton and sensuous week in the arms of a hot, hard, perfect man. But it’s not. It’s not easy at all.
After a humiliating break-up with a spoiled, cheating rock star, celebrity publicist, Paige Barber, needs a vacation.
So when her best friend offers her a remote vacation home on a private Carribean island complete with her very own sexy pool boy, she's determined to relax, leave her stresses behind and have some fun.
And boy does she.
Because Jimmy's no boy.
He's a man all the way. And he's seriously hot.
Plus, as an added bonus, he cooks like a freakin' dream.
What more could a gal ask for?
“And…will you be joining me in the blue bedroom?” Shameful of me to flirt so, but I really couldn’t help it. The question seemed to befuddle him. His jaw went slack and his nostrils flared. His pupils dilated. “I, ah… Did you want me to join you?”
I've read Ms. York before and I had a feeling that this novella would be quick, hot, funny and entertaining. So I went into it hoping for a bit of fun and spice and that's exactly what I got.
I also got the impression that our hero didn't know what the hell hit him when Paige showed up in a 'barely there' bikini (Floss, anyone? Anyone?) which I found quite amusing.
“But first… Rules.” His brow wrinkled. “Rules?” I nodded primly. Best to just get this out. I held up a finger. “One. Always use protection.” “P-protection?” He stared at me like a deer in the headlights.
This tale is told from the first person POV and we hear from the heroine and the hero in different sections/chapters. These two made me laugh and I knew from the way Jimmy responded to Paige that she was missing part of the equation and we were too.
I enjoyed watching the pieces fall into place...
And, of course, I already knew they'd be getting down to business almost immediately so the insta sexy times weren't shocking:
I was limp and lost. He pulled me into his arms and kissed me again, kissed me as I fought for breath, for sanity, for balance in a world suddenly turned on its ear. Because Marlee’s pool boy was a f*cking monster in bed. And we hadn’t even made it to the bed.
And the soon to follow "Oh. I think I've fallen in love!" didn't surprise me either but the circumstances and dynamics were lots of fun even if certain aspects were just a wee bit hard to believe. I just went along for the ride because I was enjoying it. Hey, in Romancelandia, anything's possible and if you write it well enough, I'll go with the flow...
I couldn't resist putting this spoiler here - the choice to look is your own:
This was hilarious! It was light, sweet and hot! I'm laughing and giggling while reading the book.
Paige, recently dumped by her rockstar ex-boyfriend, needs a vacation. Her best friend, Marlee offered her a vacation home on a Caribbean island with Jimmy, her pool boy being there to take care of her needs. So she went there for a week to relax and make her book. When she reached the house, she can't wait to dive in the pool so she stripped and changed in her bikini. When she's on her way to the pool, she froze to see a man who seemed surprised to see her. She thought, he was the pool boy Marlee's talking about. And it's funny how she bossed him around and his reactions to her demands. And the burnt egg.
It was so nice to read their story, how they spent their time together and the sex scenes were hot! They're so cute together. The hot tub, the challenged poker game, the massage and let's not forget the foods "Jimmy" cooked. And when her last night there came, she didn't tell him. She just spent her time with him, make love to him and the next day, packed her bag and left without saying goodbye.
When she came back to L.A. and went back to work, she avoided Marlee thinking she just loaned Jimmy to Paige like a gigolo. And when Marlee went to her office for them to talk, Marlee wanted her to explain why she didn't show up. That's when she knew Jimmy isn't Jimmy. And there's no way of finding him unless he finds her.
Thankfully, he did. After a month of missing her, he was able to find her. He scheduled a meeting to her company and that's when they met again. And to let you know who he really was, he's Danny James, a celebrity chef.
There's an epilogue too, a cute one I must say.
And it's safe to read. There's no OW/OM. Well, except the part in the middle where her ex-boyfriend, Harlan, showed up in her office wanting her back. He kissed her. But don't worry, she didn't kissed him back and made it clear that they were done and she didn't even want to be his rep. And it's just a quick scene.it happened right after she went back from vacation. So if that scene is fine with you, I must say go and read this book.
In what is best described as trademark York, Pool Man is packed with heat, humor and a wonderful misunderstanding with two characters who can’t get enough. Paige is wonderful – obsessive with a brain that will NOT shut off, she is desperately trying to just relax and forget her worries. Completely frustrated with the childish and entitled behaviors of her clients, she wants to refocus her life, hand off the rock stars and work with adults. Normal adults.
The perfect setting for a vacation getaway, the story rockets from one moment to the next, with delicious food, delectable cook and moments that will steam your eyeballs. When Paige leaves with no note and only a cellphone picture of the Pool Man to head back to the daily grind, she never expected the memories. Or the recurring fantasies. When fantasies appear in solid form the humor and desire are running neck and neck. Plenty of moments to laugh and smile, with several ‘ooh how sweet’ moments that quickly require an icy drink, this is a quick reading, well-developed story that is perfect as a tune-up for summer fun.
I purchased a copy of the title for my own library. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
Holly Wowzers! I absolutely loved the descriptions! It was like I was there!!!! I could see the sea, the sky, the house and… the pool boy! I must admit that I laughed a lot while reading this story and I really enjoyed it! And the payback! And THE TWIST! You might see it coming, but you will never guess it! Highly recommended, one of the hottest books from Sabrina!
I have had this on pre-order since I first found out it was there last month. There are a few reasons for that.
Reason one: It is by Sabrina York. She has been on my auto buy list pretty much since I the first time I read one of her books. I have yet to read one of her books I didn’t at least like, if not totally love!
Reason two: Look at that cover. *sigh* Take a second and gaze. I will wait. *wiping a spot of drool* Not a naked chest in sight, but holy hotness Batman! That has got to be the sexiest wet t-shirt I have ever seen. *sigh* And that curl down the center of that lovely face . . . Don’t ask me why, but this cover has just grabbed me and hasn’t let go yet.
Reason three: pre-order was only 99 cents. Cost is supposed to go up now that it is released, but maybe, if you hurry, you can still get the lower price. But I have to tell you, I would pay the higher price for that cover.
Reason four: the blurb talks about a Caribbean vacation complete with sexy pool boy that even knows how to cook. Now that sounds like my kind of vacation. I have spent many an hour gazing at that beautiful cover and fantasizing about the vacation I . . . Hmmmm . . . Oh! Sorry. Drifted off there for a bit.
Now that it is here and I have forced myself past the cover, I have to tell you that the story lives up to that cover. OMG! That vacation was just as hot as my imagination thought it might be. Book me a flight! I did spot an interesting twist early on, and I am sure I was supposed to. It hooked me in and had me eagerly reading to see just where things were going, and there were several directions it could have gone.
Then the vacation was over. I actually put the book down and stomped around the house for a bit. That was NOT the way the vacation ended in my fantasy! Oh no, it was not! But, I remembered this was a Sabrina York romance, calmed down and went back to the story. A right turn, a left turn and *sigh* a very satisfying ending. All is right with my world again.
Pool Man is another of those “bed-time” stories I like to find every once in a while. Less than a hundred pages so a quick read. Even though I stayed up to midnight so I could read it right away, I still got a decent night’s sleep. A lovely sleep it was too, filled with wonderfully pleasant dreams of my very own Pool Man.
Oh my gosh, I so loved this incredible story! Sabrina is one of my favorite Author's and this is another favorite book. I was caught from the beginning and could not put it down till I reached the end! Paige needed a vacation fast and what better way then on a tropic island with your own personal pool boy to cater to your every need. After an amazing and oh so hot and delicious time together, she heads home. But can she put everything that happened with Jimmy behind her? With things changing in her life she gets news that could change everything! I loved this story do much! Another must read from the talented Sabrina!
Ever read a book and think to yourself this is my perfect fantasy romance? About halfway through this book I realized this is my fantasy! Paige is an overworked stressed out ad executive heading to a beautiful island retreat for a much needed vacation. Work is driving her nuts and she just caught her boyfriend cheating. She needs to de-stress bad! Her best friend has offered Paige use of a Caribbean villa and a hot pool man named Jimmy. Paige is not really the type to use the hired help, but oh my, Jimmy is mature, hot, sexy, and can cook like a dream. What is a woman to do when the sparks fly and she connects on an almost ethereal level with her best friend's man toy? Well, you can expect the unexpected in this book. If you think this book may have a simple ending, it certainly does not! I loved this book. Started reading it the minute I got it and read it straight through! Great book!
I really enjoyed this book; far too short for my wishes, but I'm glad I read it. I like Sabrina's work alot, but this was steamy sexy and just laugh-out-loud funny in a few places. Sweet and romantic, too, but the snarky and funny parts--could be in everyday life. Hmmm....must be why I like it so much. I don't want to type any spoilers, so if you like Sabrina's stories, grab this one as soon as it's available.
Pool Man by Sabrina York will have you laughing from the first page, in lust by the third page and falling in love with both characters by the end of the first chapter! This is why whenever I see a book coming out with Sabrina York's name on it I automatically pre-order the book, and not for the reduction in the cost, I would pre-order it if it was any price, because I know I am going to get a great read, and when I am finished reading it, I will have a good feeling!
Paige is an over worked and stressed out ad executive who has been given a chance to take a week off and stay in her friend's beautiful Caribbean home for free! She needs the vacation and her friend lets her know her pool man lives there and will be more than willing to have a little fling! When Paige gets there, after the ride from hell in a modified golf cart, she steps in the entryway, strips and puts on her bikini, right then and there, and turns around to head to the pool and sees a wonderfully fit, handsome man standing there, shocked! She quickly, to overcome her embarrassment, asks him to bring her a drink and goes out to the pool.
Unknown to Paige, is that she has just made a hilarious error, and it will have you laughing your head off! The man gawking at her decides to go along and not say anything! After the week is over and she heads home, she is sad and misses the pool man! This man misses her too, and he sets out to find her!
But life sometimes throws us some crazy but wonderful curves! This book was wonderfully funny, had a lot of sexual and emotional angst in it, had a great plot that will be resolved, but not in a way we could predict! I am glad to have read this book, and look forward to my ext read from Sabrina York!
This is the third of Sabrina York's books I have read, and it was Amazing! It is witty, hot and made me say Awwww. I have yet another book boyfriend to add to my growing list.
What more can a woman ask for out of a tropical paradise vacation? Relaxing by the pool with a sexy pool boy, to cater to your every whim, and can cook on top of that. It would be hard to give that up after a week. Unfortunately reality comes knocking, so it's time to get back to life. This is a must read to find out what happens to Paige and Jimmy. Once I started reading, it was hard to put down.
A hard working PR woman flies to a isolated Caribbean island for a much needed vacation. The only other person in the borrowed mansion is the Pool Boy. And wow is he hot. A very Steamy, sensual week long encounter ensues. Light, fun read with the emphasis on bedroom action. No deep trauma, danger or heavy plot.
Who could not use a poolside vacation to relax and un-stress? I know I sure could! I'd love to join Paige Barber on her vacation. I could feel the breeze of the cool water and the warm sun shining on my face while I read Pool Man by the talented Sabrina York.
Paige Barber is a busy lady. On top of a hectic life her louse of a boyfriend broke up with her. So she gladly accepts her friends offer to escape to a secluded island and enjoy the pool with a pool boy to take care of her needs.
Paige arrives stressed and ready to relax. Once Paige gets a look at the pool boy it's not long before things turn hot and steamy. Oh MY! I would suggest grabbing one really large cool drink to cool you down while you read this one.
Paige and the Pool Man have an instant attraction to each other and certainly enjoy their time together. I think one of my favorite parts was Paige's reaction to all the yummy food that Mr. Pool Man cooked. Not only is he hot, fun to be with, entertaining and intelligent. The guy can COOK! Paige is in heaven and really hates to have to leave to return to the real world.
OK now is when Sabrina York through me for a loop. I was so shocked and surprised by the many twist and turns that occur once Paige returns to the real world. I think my jaw may have hit the floor once or twice. Sabrina York has not only written one really really hot and steamy story, she left me with that wonderful awe feeling at the end.
Sabrina York is one of my favorite authors for a hot and steamy story. She can write a story so hot that it about sets my kindle on fire and yet she writes with such emotions that at the end my heart is light and happy with that incredible awe feeling. Her characters are always fun and charming with a lot of character. I haven't yet met a Sabrina York book that I did not love.
Overall, I really enjoyed Pool Man. Sabrina York has has done a really great job of creating a storyline that I did not see coming at all. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone that is already a Sabrina York fan. I think you will love it as much as I did. If you haven't read Sabrina York's work yet but love hot and steamy books then give this one a try. It only took one book and I have been a huge fan of Sabrina York's since.
I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Pool Man.
Sabrina York does it again with this steamy novella. Right in time for summer! Who has not day dreamed of laying by a pool with a hot muscle pool man to take care of you? Paige is a successful business woman who lives a fast pace crazy lifestyle. Has meet several of the rich and the famous. With one whom just happened to break her heart, so she thought. When a good celebrity friend offered her island vacation home for a week, how could Paige refuse. Paige arrives at this beautiful vacation home and Marlee was not mistaken on the Hot Pool Man that would take care of Paige for the week. Needless to say Sabrina brings out the hot and sexy steamy love affair for the vacation "hook-up". Though Paige honestly thought that Jimmy was just a hook up only, though something happened that week and she can't quite place her finger on it. Well now her comes the twist, when things don't add up and Marlee question hers about this vacation, what really happened, who did she really fall in love with? This is a must read to find out who Paige fell in love with.
When Paige agrees to vacation at her friend Marlee's island home, she also agrees to making use of Jimmy, the pool boy the house comes with. What Paige doesn't expect is the fact that the pool boy is no boy at all, but a very, very yummy man. What begins as a flirtatious attraction soon morphs into full out romance. When Paige's week ends, she leaves Jimmy without saying goodbye because it's too painful. Once home, Paige can't stop thinking about Jimmy, but is also afraid to face her friend Marlee, especially because technically, Jimmy is Marlee's pool toy, I mean, boy. When Marlee tracks her down, she delivers a shock that I never saw coming. This was a sweet, romantic story about falling in love, losing it, and finding it again. My only complaint is that I wish this story had been longer. But that's usually my complaint when I love a story and don't want it to end.
Who has not had that fantasy of going to a remote location and having the pool boy do all your biddings? You'll get to live out that fantasy in this story by her Royal Hottness!!
Paige is determined to take a week away from the stress of her job, and when her friend offers not only the use of her Caribbean home, but the services of her pool man "Jimmy" as well. You may see the twist coming, but oh what a twist!
I loved this read. Fun, flirty, fast paced but WAY too short. I didn't want it to end. I think that this must be every single woman's ideal getaway. A pool boy that's actually a man, built to look at, does your bidding and also knows his way around the kitchen. HOT and delicious - despite a few burned dishes along the way. Each have a great getaway, but when they return to reality and business it's fun to watch the reunion and how it unfolds. I highly recommend this read - intelligent characters, confidence galore and sexy times are more than memorable.
To sum up Pool Man in one word - playful. This book was so much fun. Perfect for an afternoon sunning on the deck (hey, not all of us have pools, much less pool boys/men!). I figured out the plot twist early on and was grinning like a goofy idiot until the characters caught up with me. And I kept that smile right through the last sentence of the last page. Sabrina York continues to be a favorite author to take me out of my ho-hum life and carry me away for a few exciting hours of entertainment.
Sabrina York has delivered once again! Pool Man is a fantastic, funny read with lovable characters, a great story and plenty of sizzle. Did I mention it's funny too? I loved this book and was sorry when it ended. Pool Man is a short read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I can't wait to read more from Sabrina York.
This was a quick read that I enjoyed and wish it had been a little longer. The loop it threw in the middle was the best! I also loved the ending. I know this is vague, but I am afraid if I go into details on things I would be giving stuff away and ruin the entire aspect of this quick read. I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sabrina York has done it again. She has brought romantic, funny & scorching HOT to this book. Danny & Paige the way they met is unbelievable. If you have not read this book and are looking for a short read, then look no further.
This quick read was definitely sexy and worth the read. I liked that the story wasn't dragged out too far. Paige and "Jimmy" had chemistry and the HEA sealed the story.
This story was funny.. Love the things that Paige does while on vacation at her friend Marlee's vacation home. The trip in the "cab" was funny also. The way she meets " Jimmy" is funny. Cute love story. The ending is also funny. Love it.
