Before, Lara Pierce felt trapped in her relationship. Now, she's being flat-out blackmailed to stay. With Jackson holding evidence of a murder she didn't commit, Lara finds herself essentially held hostage as his fiancee. Despite the outward glamour of her Manhattan life, she is living and breathing a daily nightmare.
Good thing she has a hunch -- and a plan to put Jackson in jail where he belongs.
Unfortunately, it'll require her to pretend that everything is fine. Absolutely fine. In order to free herself from Jackson's grip, both Lara and Jake must get closer than ever to the man that likely killed Gabrielle Winter. And while that should be easy as his fiancee and brother, it proves impossible when factoring in a secret affair that grows deeper, hotter and riskier with every uncovered secret.

I just read this to see how the book ended. Not amazing, but not bad either. The way they figured things out seemed a bit much, and then resolved too quickly afterward, but whatever I’m not an author lol
“What the fuck was my fucking world. I couldn’t process anything but disgust… We’re all fucking twisted. But the only way to know real pleasure is to ignore all the boundaries.”
Where to even begin…
“I couldn’t even listen to a word he had to say. All I could do was laugh. I’d felt truly deranged. But it was all so hilarious to me.”
Yup, these quotes pretty much sum up my experience while reading this book.
This is the second instalment in the lives of Jackson, Jake and Lara. Where the first book was an action packed and fast paced read with many secrets revealed, this book was exactly the opposite. It was a short read and yet I still got bored and skimmed past a good few pages.
I grew more and more disgusted and frustrated with the characters in this book. The women all still seemed just to be accessories. The men would say things like: “ Christ, you’re even prettier when you’re crying. No wonder Jackson loves to break your heart.”
Everyone wanted to have Lara, Jackson wanted to have everyone but Lara. Lara continued to play high-end escort Barbie, Jackson continued dipping his dick in anything warm. The chemistry between Jake and Lara fell flat and the sex scenes got boring with many a “Fuck, Lara…” and “Oh God that feels good” and “Squeeze your tits for me” repeated over and over in every scene.
We’ve already established that Jackson is the vilest of creatures and I wished for revenge.
I kept hoping for someone to come up with a plan as cunning as a cunning fox with a degree in cunning from the university of cunning to serve him his comeuppance, but alas, this was not to be. I felt completely cheated by the ending. The author tied everything up in a sloppy little bow by treating the climax as an epilogue in the last two chapters. She skimmed over how Jackson was served justice and what happened to everyone else. I felt she really could have rather written another instalment and given it the attention it deserved. Rather, it felt like what these two instalments built towards was just an afterthought.
I grew so frustrated by everything else in this book that even the way the author wrote started to annoy me. Every chapter would end on a weak cliffyr and every new chapter was started by a character having a flashback to the day before to deliver the answer to the cliffy.
Even though the first instalment wasn’t one of my favorite books, this one still left me disappointed and frustrated.
I'm not sure how others rate their books but I'm giving this a 5 because, well, it pleased me very much so and I loved the story, kept my attention every step of the way and because I loved Jacob. Jackson, well he was a nut case and his view on his relationship with Lara was just disgusting, I mean, who acts like that?! I was going out of my mind with the company he kept. I. DESPISED. HIM!
Once all the lies, betrayals, and truthS come out I was shocked that Jackson really believed it was all ok. Hell even his own brother thought he lost it.
I have not really been writing reviews lately hut HOLY SHIT. This series definetly deserved some commenting on.
Its a tiny series . Finished through the 2 book series in 2 hours straight.
The characters are screwed , the plot is crazy and i down right LOVED IT !
And boy oh boy was it HOT! In fact i will go ahead and emphasis the sexiness by saying it was HAWT as fuck!!!
I don't really have the time to go over the details but it is definitely a read to go for if yu are in the mood for something quick, sexy with a plot that is kinda dark and twisted. And of course ...incredibly edible , smoldering HAWT men ......and women ....
Jackson was the cockiest asshole ever. I couldn't wait for the end of him. Dane was creepy and entitled. Sawyer needs his own book, I loved him. I wasn't expecting as much suspense but I felt butterflies thinking Lara was going to be caught with Jake at any moment. There's a lot going on in this story.
Every once in awhile a book comes a long that makes you feel the story to the point you don't know if it's day or night. This is one of those books, if you are looking for angst check, love story check, and put it all together for an incredible story that makes you want to read it all over again.
I was a bit disappointed in this one. One again 'helmet' was used. Ugh just s total turn off. I hate that term so much. As far as the storyline goes.. I just didn't like the ending. I thought things were so dramatic and I did not like how Lara ended up getting the evidence against Jackson. Oh and let's not even talk about the fact it would most likely be inadmissible. Anyway glad I finished the two book series but it wasn't my favorite set of books.
I really enjoyed this first one so I'm kinda disappointed with this one. For one, it was only 136 pages so there wasn't a need for the book to be split in two. Second of all, nothing was happening the first 90% and then all of a sudden, the book was done. Mystery solved. It was all very anticlimactic to be honest.
Wowza!! this had a whole bunch of twists and turns and so many secrets! I am def on a Stella Rhys Binge right now and I am loving it. What better way to start the holidays then with a hot step sibling love affair? Liam I'm coming for you...(i wish haha)
4-I couldn't put this book down (both actually)…I loved this series. Was steamy, mysterious, and Thrilling. I really enjoyed. Put on your TBR. Very good!!!
I would rate this 2.5 if I could. I only read it to find out how it ended. And tbh it wasn’t that great. It was a lot of build up for the ending she gave us. I skipped a lot of the sex scenes because they were just too much after the first book. It was still weird to me how she was fucking her man’s brother. I also thought the author was a little too extra when it came to the FMC.. she was the most beautiful girl in the world apparently. No one had ever seen someone so beautiful in their life, everyone was instantly attracted to her and wanted to be with her and she was the envy of everyone. 🙄 overall, I didn’t like the series. I may give the author another try, but this series was not for me.

This is the continuation to In Too Deep. Honestly, I read this just to find out how the mess all ended.
Characters still remained the same. Never thought I'd hate Jackson more but he just got worse as the story progresses. Lara still continues to be all the guy's dream girl and she tries her best to be the pretend stepford wife. Jake helps Lara. I think the only saving grace to this was Sawyer, such a good friend.
Ending was rushed but glad it all wrapped up nicely.
I had promised myself I'd rather leave a book unread or just put it in the 'read'shelf rather than leave a low rating, but I can't help it. What is this story? And what is the point of it? Why is all of it happening? I honestly read romance novels when the chaos of the outside world get too much for me and take too much space inside my head and this book proved counter productive in the sense that i feel more anxious than when I began the book. Ugh.
Exciting conclusion to In Too Deep! Wow, this was tense! It felt so hopeless that Lara could ever get away from piece of crap Jackson (who has gotten way worse in his cheating and boisterous ego) let alone ever find happiness with Jake. I felt like every step forward took her two steps back. Great conclusion to this duet!
Quick little story. Loved Jake so much. Jackson once again topped the worst of the worst, psychopath characters I’ve read in a while. Not going to lie/ the scene where he hooks up with her after she knows he’s hooking up with his stepsister was so uncomfy.
Loved that Lara figured shit out and ended up with her HEA with Jake.

The conclusion to the first story. Lara is being blackmailed by Jackson. It she and Jake are going to find a way out of this horrific mess. So much wrong and badness in between these pages but soooo much good too! The chemistry and heat factory is amazing! Great series!
Lara is desperate to get the evidence her fiancée is holding over her head. She knows she’s innocent but those items make her look guilty. Not sure in real Life if how she goes about it to get proof on the real guilty party but was a interesting read
The ending was a little rough and quick. I needed more of Jackson’s reaction and his pitiful wining and groveling there at the end. Also a few reactions from people, I mean there had to be a little bit of shock or disgust. Generalize synopsis of “people’s” reactions just didn’t satisfy me.
