Devil on Your Back

Rate this book
When all you have left is choice, how do you ensure you make the right one?

I thought that losing my family was the linchpin to my suffering; the thing which would forever hold my head under the dark waters of regret.

But I was wrong … so wrong.

What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, and what threatens us only serves to feed the beast.

My boy is in trouble, and it’s time this father stood up for what he should have a long time ago.

Only, after years of believing I deserved to spend my days alone, punishing myself for the mistakes I made, I’ve finally found the truth—her.

When she needs me as much as my son, how will I decide which path to take? Will I be doomed to forever make the wrong choice?

And will I, once again, lose everything I love and drown in my regret?

I received a copy of the book for an honest review.

Max Henry was able to consume me from the time I opened this book until I closed it. This is about Vince, Malice dad, I was so ready to hear his side of things and why he let things happen. Sonya and Vince were perfect for each other both had pasts they just were not ready to let go of.

After Vince lost his wife tragically, his son ran away, and he lost everything he picked a fight with bikers one night hoping they would end his life. However, they brought him back to the club and nursed back to health by Sonya. Sonya was a widow after losing the love of her life. These two skirted around each other never giving in for years because they were holding on to their pasts too tight not willing to let go.

When trouble starts brewing for the MC Vince realizes his estranged son is in the middle of it. He wants so warn him but without involving the MC. Kings gives him assistance and makes him take Sonya along. This gives him the opportunity to not only set things straight with Malice but also get to know Sonya better. Can if be enough tine to right all the wrongs between him and Malice? Will Malice forgive him? Can Sonya and Vince let go of their past to allow a future with each other?

I loved this plot story to hear Vince's side of things what he went through. Then to hear Sonya's story. My heart broke for them both. To see how the Butcher boys and the MC meshed together for a while was great. I fell I love with Sonya and Ramona and I cannot wait to see what is in store in the upcoming books. There is so much to learn about Ty and Bronx and there is still so much left to the unknown.

A few of my favorites:

What’s hot about a man who gives you lame pick-up lines and tells you he wants to ‘rock your world’? Puke. Puh-lease. Men that are straight up are usually only after some physical gratification. Sure, that’s good to have, but call me fickle, at this point in my life I want someone who can arouse me in other ways … like with words in a message.

For years, I’ve been certain that staying closed off, keeping to myself, and guarding my heart with the tenacity of a Rottweiler was the best way to avoid harm. But how stupid could I be? Isolating myself not only prevented any possible heartache—it ensured I stayed miserable, because I made myself miss out on the good things that come from the love of a good woman.

“You don’t need to be super-human,” I reassure her. “So what if you aren’t something mind-blowing, like the only woman in the world strong enough to juggle two motorcycles.” She laughs. “You’re still important. I still find you amazing.”

So I know... I know my review is like a week late and I truely apologize for that. When I had finished Devil You Know, I didn't realize that Devil On Your Back was going to be about Alice's, aka Malice's dad. I thought it was going to be about one of the other boys. But I was really happy when I did realize that it was going to be about Vince. I really felt like there was so much more behind his character and story than we found out in Malice's story. And of course in Malice's story it was from his POV.

And boy was I not mistaken. I have to say right from the start I really felt for Vince. He's a man who made some mistakes after losing his wife. Which was understandable.

I loved Vince right away. Even though at times he wanted to give
up and messed up as a father. I think he was strong. Because he kept on living and realized his mistakes and was trying to make them right.

I also loved Sonya... What can I say? Sonya was a sweetheart, caring, understanding. She also understood the dark place that Vince lived in losing her own husband.

I loved this book. It was nice to see a father and son finally get reunited and get to know each other again. I also loved seeing Vince and Sonya's relationship start and grow. Both of them realizing that they don't have to forget their spouses who are gone. But realizing that they can love again. There of course was a bit of drama. And there were some smoking hot sexy scenes with Vince and Sonya.

I'm giving this one 4 Out of 5 Stars and can't wait for the next one!!!

I'm going to be nice and not leave a star rating. Though typically I'd leave only a 1 star for a DNF.

That's right. This was a DNF for me. I may go back and try again at some point. IDK if I was in a funk or what, but this was coming across as so dull and boring to me, particularly following the Devil You May Know. I ended up putting it aside when I was asked to beta read something, then proof read something else, then an ARC from a friend came in and I read four or five books just for fun in between all that. It's now been a month since I started Devil on Your Back and I have zero desire to go back. So, it is what it is. It's being taken off my "currently reading" list. I'll update this as needed when (IF) I bother to try again.

O.My.Goodness!

There's a load of information, connection, substance to this series in THIS story. I love a Well-written story that flows, pulls me in and connects the story and characters - and this one does an excellent job of that. Vince (this is his & Sonya's story) and Malice finally find their way, and King & the Fallen Angels MC branch off for Book 3 (I haven't read it yet but I'm curious.) Thank you for your time, talent and the stories!

Gah, I just didn't like Vince. I also am not sure where the attraction was. And, have a bit of a doormat for you with the h - MC style. I will say, the author does a good job at painting the characters, telling their internal dialog, without everyone always seeming book perfect. I loved book 1, will keep reading the series and write this one off to just not liking the H.

Devil on Your Back is Vince's story. We were introduced to Vince in Devil You Know, he is the father of Malice, a member of The Butcher Boys. We learn from book one in this series that Malice had a rough childhood filled with heartache and abandonment from his father. However in this book, we learn the tragic events that lead a father to a bottle and his son on the streets.

It is now years later and Vince, a widower who just can't seem to get over the death of his wife, is given a second chance in life by one of the most unlikely people. King, is part of a MC and seems to recognize the pain behind Vince's eyes. After a bar brawl, he then takes Vince back to the MC's clubhouse and presents Vince with a offer he can't refuse. A second chance is something Vince isn't sure he is worthy of. He is a grieving widower, a drunk and a horrible father who lost his son, so what could he offer anyone? But with help from the MC and especially Sonya,a fellow widower of a fellow MC brother, he soon realizes that maybe he can gain back some of the things he lost.

Sonya was called in to first help clean Vince up, but she didn't expect to be attracted to him. She was married, well she was 5 years ago but with a tragic accident her husband Mike was killed. Just like Vince she suffers from heartache and every time she starts to feel a little attraction to someone, her conscience kicks in. With memories of her former life, Sonya tries keeps a distance from others but Vince just keeps popping up. Both soon start to share bits of pieces of their past and not only does a bond form but a spark ignites.

With MC danger on the forefront, Vince soon learns that his long lost son is in the middle of it. He wants to warn Malice about the danger but with not seeing him in so long, Vince is worried that Malice won't even meet with him. But with help from King and Sonya, Vince is given the opportunity to not only warn Malice but also a chance to try and repair what he lost so long ago. Can he do it? Can he help save Malice from the danger he doesn't know he is in? Can he get over his grief and help Sonya get over hers? Will Sonya let her past go and learn that she still can have a little bit of the happiness she deserves?

I LOVED this book. Ms. Henry knocked it out of the park with this one. This is a emotional story centering around mature characters who not only have tragic pasts but both are suffering with their own forms of regret. We are also introduced to a few new characters who I just can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. However some of our favorite characters from the first book make appearances also. The books ending sets up the next book perfectly and I can't wait. Also this book could be read as a stand alone but I highly would recommend reading the first book before this one. It will give the reader Malice's point of view on his relationship with Vince.

I was given this ARC in return for my honest review.

I actually liked this one better than the first one and it really had potential to be a perfect read, with the action and plot but there were some things that just didn't work for me.

I really didn't like Vince much in the beginning and while I saw his loss, I didn't feel it but I did feel he was a sorry ass for his actions regarding his son. I did feel for him more as the story progressed and I was glad to see him find his happy with Sonya and his son. But I felt like there just could have been so much more to his character.

As for Sonya I liked her overall but she grated on my nerves with her absurdity quite a bit. I got the loss of Mike and I got the insecurities at times, but damn you are a grown ass woman act like it. Also the childish temper tantrums about not being involved in club business...seriously bitch how long have you been in the life, get over it and for the love stop acting like a childish bitch about it. I don't equate bitchy behavior with being a strong female and I have gotten that in both of the books so far from the females, it doesn't work for me. I expected a little more out of Sonya than I got, I didn't dislike her but she wasn't great either.

The story and plot line once again kept me reading, even though the relationship part didn't give me any real feels like I was expecting considering their pasts. I didn't really think some of the things that were thrown into this one were really necessary because there was enough unresolved there was no need to continue piling issues in at the end. The issues piled in at the end also took away from what should have been a huge part of this book considering who it was about but that was barely even glossed over with a mention of being at a party. So once again it was a good read but could have really been great.

I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

Devil on Your Back is an exciting read that will capture your attention in the very beginning, and not let go until the very end….and that’s only because you don’t want to be the weird girl who is caught staring at the very last page of the book, afraid to say goodbye to the characters. Of course, once your brain kicks back on and you realize you can re-read it at any time, you start to let go….slowly. The point is, this story is such a great read and readers will definitely be giving this book another read. The story is well-written, enthralling, and easy to follow. The characters are intriguing, well-developed, and full of emotion.

Vince and Sonya surprised me. As I kept reading, the more I became invested in these characters. Vince and Sonya haven’t been dealt an easy life. They both are mourning their significant others and can’t seem to find peace and let them go. Vince turns to alcohol to numb his pain and let his life spiral out of control. Certain circumstances lead him to Sonya. The attraction is instant and the chemistry is all consuming. Sonya is exactly what Vince needs. She’s compassionate, yet strong and not afraid to voice her opinion. Both have pasts, but isn’t defined by them. The story itself has many layers and the relationship Vince and Sonya form, is only part of the story. The other part has deal with Vince finding his son and getting him out of trouble. One of the many aspects of this story that I enjoyed, was that the author gives us a glimpse into what Vince is thinking and what Sonya is thinking. With so much going on in the story, it was great to get that perspective. Devil on Your Back is definitely a book to add to your reading list. Reviewed by Jennifer for MNP

I was provided a copy of the boo by the Author for an honest review.

Holy Smoke I just finish reading this book, and let me say that I love it, love the characters and love the way this series is turning out to be. I have to say that when I read the first book I felt in love with it, and I wanted to know the reason why Alice father did what he did, and I am so glad that now I know, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.

This is the story off Vince, Malice (A.K.A) Alice father, if you read DEVIL YOU KNOW than you met Vince, this book will take you back in time when Vince was happy being a husband and a father. It will tell you how his life became the way it did, and how he end up in the MC, that's when he met Sonya, who also happen to have a bad start in life, the book will take you back to the past and right back to the present, while being in the present Vince is trying to find a way to get closer to his son, and tried to keep him protected, and trying to have a life with Sonya, and what they feel for each other, it will also tell you that Vince will do everything he can to keep those that he care for save. And to give all that love that he got inside of him to that one person that he being after for the last couple o years.

I love the way how Vince his, love the way he is with his son, love it how he is with Sonya, I just love his freaking attitude.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author Max Henry THANK YOU for keeping up with this Awesome characters and this Wonderful series I cant not wait to read the next book in the series love it.

3 stars / 4 flames.

I like the storyline of these books, and the books themselves are fairly good. Devil on Your Back elicited more emotions from me than Devil You Know, which was a good thing. However I still felt like something was lacking. Our love interests in this book, Vince and Sonya, are both widows who lost their spouses unexpectedly. I think more could have been done help us understand their pain and loss, particularly with respect to Vince who lost his wife, and then his son. I didn't feel much chemistry or emotional connection between them, and their sex scenes were more porn than intimacy.

I also felt like I was reading in fast forward sometimes. Situations were not clearly spelled out, or we were jumping around from topic to event and back again. The situation as it played out between Ramona, Sawyer, Bruiser and Ty came off as callous. It seems that pairing, and the King-Elena situation were thrown in just to set up future books. It felt rushed, and didn't fit in with the story well.

That being said, I like all of the Butcher Boys, despite their emotional shortfalls. I also like all of the Fallen Saints, I just didn't expect the story line to carry on in their direction given the name of the series. I will keep reading to see what relationships and drama unfold next.

Vince, a widower with nothing left to live for and who's son walked away from the agony of watching his father drown in his sorrows, finds himself in a predicament only to be rescued by King, the leader of a local MC.
Fast-forwarding to the present. Vince still stuck in the past, grieving for his dead wife is question his attraction to Sonya, the bar tender, a widow herself. She has her own grieve to deal with and tries to ignore Vince's advancements towards her. But her attraction to him is undeniable and soon she can't deny it any longer and gives into temptation and desire. Both having to deal with all sorts of emotions stemming from the loss of their loved ones, will they be able to give in to their feelings and find happiness together? On the other hand Vince is made aware that his son Alice, whom he hasn't seen in 18 years, now known as Malice, is in danger and vows to do whatever it take to protect him and keep him safe. Alice not very welcoming at first begins to crumble the wall he's built around him when it came to his father. Will Vince, King and the others be able to keep Alice and the Butcher Boys safe?
I loved this story. I loved the emotions Vince and Sonya go through to be together, to overcome the fear of loosing someone yet again. I loved how Vince's and Alice's relationship is being restored with forgiveness and trust. A great 5 star read for me, highly recommended. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Having just finished reading 'Devil on Your Back' book 2 of Max Henry's "Butcher Boys" series, I'm left in AWE yet again! Leaving me SPEECHLESS, her ability to drag the ugliest situations in life & create something dark & yet beautiful all at once leaves me stunned. You feel as though the character/s life could be your own.

There was a touch more darkness in 'Devil on Your Back' than in book 1 of the series, but I feel it was needed, the personal lose for the main characters is traumatic, life changing, devastating. Yet we get a glimps of the person within, struggling to break free, to breathe freely again, to love...

I loved the glimps of the past you get with this book, although the past was painfull, it made reading the present events & situations, more understandable. Also the inclusion of the characters from book 1, seeing how they were handling things, how everyone was going, was an added bonus.

In true Max Henry fashion, she's written about this dark, distressing subject & molded it to her design. Sharing with the reader the struggles, the up's & down's, the self doubt... the cocoon the character/s wrap around themselves, just to get through their lives & what it takes to break free. Please NEVER stop writting Max, because I never want to stop reading your masterpieces. (sound familiar?? hehehehe) Bring on book 3!!

The story this time is about Vince, a widow who can't completely move on after the death of his wife and Sonya also a widow who is also finding it hard to think of making a new life with another partner. There is a lot of emotion in this story as Sonya and Vince fight their guilt as their attraction for each other get's stronger and Vince also get's close in his quest to find his estranged son.

The story is very well written and very suspenseful at times and it can be read as a stand alone story but I found it easier to follow, as there is a lot going on in this story, because I had read the previous novel Devil You Know. I found the romance between the two middle aged adults to be a refreshing change and with the added drama and intrigue I enjoyed the book immensely, I just love how Ms Henry's storyline evolved, her writing just draws you in, the pace of the story was great, and the dialogue was wonderful, it seemed so natural.

The Butcher Boys are prominent in this story, you just have to wait for them, they're well worth waiting for. And I can't wait for the next instalment to see where the series will take us from here. I highly recommend this this book and give it a 5/5 rating.

Vince

***ARC provided in exchange for a honest review***

What a PHENOMENAL web that Max Henry weaves. This is the story of Vince who we met in The Devil You Know, who's son is Malice and is a member of the Butcher Boys. What we learned about Vince through Malice is that when he lost his wife his world crumbled. In Devil On Your Back we see how Vince coped with the loss of his wife and son from his perspective. We also see him find love again with Sonya who also survived the tragic lost of her husband. Vince found an unlikely hero in King who is the president of an MC and sees the pain that Vince is trying to hide so he gives him a second opportunity to get his life together. Along the way he finds out that is son is mixed up in something that can cost him his life so he reaches out to him to mend fences and also to protect him. We meet some SPECTACULAR characters from the MC and catch up with the Butcher Boys while also being set up for the next installment of this EXPLOSIVE series. The DEVIL ON YOUR BACK is a gripping, suspenseful, passionate, and undeniably emotional read. It has action and suspense, beauty and grit. A for sure page-turner that will captivate you the whole way through. I for one can't wait for the next tale from Max Henry.

I don't even know where to begin with this book. I had a emotional overload while reading it. Our favorite Butcher Boy Malice has more to deal with than Jane now. His father Vince has re-surfaced and is dead set on helping him avoid Carlos wrath. Vince is seeking redemption from the darkness in his past with his son and trying to move on with a brighter future. The tragic loss of his wife sends him spiraling into a dark depression shutting out everyone including his son. He has survivor's guilt over so many things which complicates every single relationship in his life including his new romantic interest Sonya, who also is facing the ghost of her husband.

This story as I mentioned above is an emotional roller coaster. It above all gives hope to those who have lost the love of their life that they might find love farther down the road and when they are in a better place. Everyone needs to feel love especially those who have faced loss. It's also refreshing that Max decided to focus on two middle aged characters instead of a younger pair. Stories involving an MC often revolve around young couples so I am happy to see a different twist. We get to see more of the Butcher Boys and are left with a tease of what's to come in later books. I highly recommend this series!!

Max Henry has got herself a lifelong fan.
I thought Book one blew me away, but now Book two has sold me on the fact that Max has a serious true talent for writing.
She not only captures your attention, but gives you an amazing intense story to follow, with a side of SIZZLING intimate moments.
This books starts out with a story type that I have never read anywhere before. The type of character history and pain, yes. But the journey this story took, I have never come across even though it is something many people have travelled in real life. I loved what she did with this.

Vince is an intense, sexy man with an extremely disturbed past.
Sonya is someone Vince has watched for many years with Extreme interest. Yes her large breasts are every man's dream, but she is one of the most caring and selfless women Vince has ever met.
One thing leads to another and they meet in some scenes that resulted in multiple changes of panties, if you know what I mean. Lol. ;)
But, Sonya is currently dealing with her troubled past; and Vince is dealing with his messy history & trying to get back in contact with his estranged son, Malice.

So, will they become each other’s forever?
Can they be each other’s Forever?

This, you will have to see for yourself......

I FLOVED this book. Hard. I basically read Devil you Know and then was in such a book blump that I refused to read anything else until I read this one.
Shit, when I found out it was going to be about Malice's dad, Vince... I was worried, I''m gonna be honest here and say, Yep I was worried.. the dude was a Douche in the first book but let me tell you... I had naff all to be worried about... Vince is the Man!! He is all Alpha - hot, bossy & completely swoon worthy.

I Loved the story line, the concept was well thought out and I loved all the characters. I laughed, I loved, I growled and I even had my heart broke at a few scenes..
The whole Sonya and Vince romance was beautifully done, and seeing as I am not a big fan of Second chance at love story lines, I couldn't help but adore the fact that these two broken characters were getting a chance to experience love again.

Far out, this one is just releasing and I am already itching for the next one in the series which is always a good sign... especially with who's story is up next.

Congratulations Max on an Fantastic book...

Holy WOW. I am going to warn you like NO ONE warned me.

I feel like the next time I read a Max Henry book (this was not my first so I feel like I should have known) I will do some weight lifting ahead of time. This is so heavy.

Devil on Your Back is a deep, thoughtful, and utterly moving story. Now, don't get me wrong, many MC Romances are this way, but Max completely guts you. The writing was fantastic, well-planned, and had amazing character development.

I loved that most of this story was in Vince's POV because I was able to crawl into his head and become one with the character. How many books allow that? Not many. My heart broke for him. I wanted to slap and/or shake him. But most of all I cheered for him as he endured much to achieve his persona growth.

And Sonya, my dear sweet Sonya. How many times do we women feel the way she feels? Even not having lost what she has lost, I completely understood and sympathized with her emotional struggle. What is my value/place/purpose? Don't we ALL ask that???

Please, do yourself a favor and read this book. Heck, read ALL of her books! I know I plan to.

I was super excited when I saw that Devil on Your Back was a Butcher Boys novel. I picked it up not knowing who story it was, I was hoping it was one of Malice's friend's story. It's Vince's story and it took me a little to figure out who Vince is. Vince in Malice's Dad.

We learn about Vince in Devil You Know. In Devil on Your Back we learn all about Vince. Vince is a mess in the beginning of this book. He is down on his luck and not doing good when a Motorcycle club takes him in. The motorcycle club is a good thing for him, that is how he meets Sonya. He and Sonya has a great chemistry. I enjoyed reading this story and seeing how the characters grew.

Before reading this story I was really not the big fan of Vince. When I started reading this story I was not completely into it at first but it didn't take me long to warm up to Vince. Devil On Your Back is a good read and I can't wait to read the next novel in the Butcher Boys series.

Sexy. Suspenseful. Raw. Real. Intense. Edgy.

I loved this book! I picked up book one in the series on a whim a few months back and was astounded by the brutally honest story. And this book... wow takes this series to a whole new level. Malice's dad Vince intrigued me in book one and I was curious how he would be redeemed in this book. This book was crazy good, sexy, intense, and kept me on the edge of my seat.

This is Sonya and Vince's story. Vince is in search of redemption. He has led a shit life and let his son down more than he can count. After losing his wife, it gutted him and he never recovered. A mean drunk and terrible attitude hasn't helped him but Vince needs redemption. When he meets Sonya, he feels a connection to her. Sonya is also a widow and grieving like Vince. When these two meet, there is tons of chemistry. Can they find healing and redemption in the arms of one another?

I highly recommend this book.

This was my first time reading a Max Henry book and I must say,
I was pleasantly surprised. I love MC books for their Alpha men, grittiness, and drama. This book delivered all.

The main characters are Vince and Sonya. Both of them have deceased spouses and have closed their hearts off to loving another.
When they meet at the MC they are drawn to each other but don't make their feelings known...not for a long time. While they are
trying to figure out if a relationship with each other will work, the MC has some unexpected problems to deal with. These problems
put Vince and Sonya together in helping to solve them. Will they trust enough to give themselves a chance at working?
Will they be able to let their deceased spouses go? Will the clubs problems tear them apart?
The only way to find out, is to read the book! Hahahha! I
definitely recommend it!

This book was amazing!
When I finished the first book in the series, I wanted to know more about Vince, Malice, a.k.a Alice's dad.
I wanted to know what happened between the two of them to be estranged for so long.
Vince checked out when his wife Julia died and Alice just couldn't deal with it.
When Vince finds out that his son's life is in danger, there is no question about it, he leaves to warn him but it will be a bumpy ride.

Back at the clubhouse, there is one woman who catches his eye.
Sonya.
She is like the "den mother" to the MC and she is just sad, living life without really living.
She lost her husband who was in another charter and she hasn't really dealt with it.
There is a connection between Vince and Sonya but are they ready to let go of the past and have a future?
This book was full of hot sex, twists, and turns, and finding out more about themselves.
Everyone should read this book.
I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Not even close to the first book in the series. I was very disappointed in this story of second love for two people broken in their own way through their own grief and heartache. Though I felt justice was done to Vince's story, a much more complex and deep emotional break. Sonya's story on the other hand, well I just could not connect to her character at all. All in all, book 2 touched upon too many themes (insecurities, guilt); too many characters and relationships not explained properly (hello/goodbye Bruiser, wtf?), and unbelievable outcomes (King & paper swans, huh?) I just could not invest in these characters. Even strong intimidating Malice in the first book is turned into 'Alice' (in more ways than one) by being a whiney brat/child in book 2. I was more interested in the side characters for upcoming books than Sonya & Vince. Hopefully, book 3 will get the storyline back up to quality.

Devil on Your Back is a story of second chances in relationships. Not only romantic, but also within a family.

Vince is trying hard to get past the loss of his wife even years later. At the same time he lost his son when they became estranged. He has an opportunity to deal with both at the same time.

Sonya too lost her husband so she knows exactly what he is going through. She and Vince are falling for each other and fighting it along the way. When they both finally give in to their feelings they share some pretty steamy moments together and open their hearts to a second chance at love.

Now Vince's second chance with his son isn't as easy and is a whole lot more dangerous. He discovers that someone is after Malice and his friends. So Vince will try to save him and bring along his MC for the ride.

I really enjoyed Vince's story.

I give Devil On Your Back 4 hearts!

We met Vince in Devil You Know, he's Malice's dad and a complete mess.
Devil on Your Back is his story, what happened to completely destroy the man he was and his journey back.
He's forced to face his demons in order to protect his son.
Also to help Sonya face hers.
Sonya is amazing, she's so understanding, compassionate and strong yet needy. She's this perfect mixture that is exactly what Vince needs to get him through the rough spots and come out of it whole.

I loved getting Vince's background no matter how heart breaking it was, we needed to understand the man he'd become and how he got there.
I strongly suggest reading Devil You Know prior to reading Devil on Your Back, you get plenty of background to understand whats going on but I personally think reading them back to back gives you that little something extra.

Even though this was Alice's dad story it really fitted into the story line and helped explain what happened in the first story.

Vince's story was one where life took him on a different life than he had planned at the start. He knows he let Alice down but when it matter he tried to help him with information.

Sonya is one those people who lives in the background but in integral to everyone around them but doesn't feel appreciated sometimes.

The interaction between Vince and Sonya is great and is great to see even though they are seen as an older couple they can still relate to each and help each other through the loss in their lives.

This book keeps you captivated from the start to the finish. Can't wait to read the next story in the Butcher Boys series.

I was give a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review - Naughty Book Eden

In Devil On Your Back, we see more about Vince's past and present. We see how he became estranged from Malice in the Butcher Boys Series. We get to see as things in the club get a little weird for Vince. We find out his road name is Lynch and we meet up with Sawyer, Carlos' son, again. Sawyer joined the club to get back at his father from what we have been told. What has Sawyer done that has the club very unhappy with him? How does this incident affect Vince? What happened to Tigger that got him killed? What did he do or who did what that got Tigger killed? When Vince and the others from the club go to meet with Carlos and take Sawyer to him, what does he ask for in exchange? What does Sonya learn from Vince, King, and Ramona? What happens between Vince and Ramona? What about Vince and Malice? You're going to have to read this book to find out. It is packed with excitement and action.
