I just love this series. I love the Dez always backs up Sully, no matter what. It got a big hairy there, for a moment I was like, noooo don't let this be the last, but they manage to pull through. It's a fantastic story and keeps you gripped to the last. 20 books in plus all the others in the same series and it is as fresh as the first one. Love it.

Well, now, I want to spend a fortnight in York! *laughs*
Look, I know it can become a bit repetitive, but I love these characters, like A LOT! So any time there is a new book, that's a motive for celebration and, in my case, a wonderful afternoon wrapped in a blanket and with hot tea at hand :P
And, again, I wasn't disappointed. The story is such a perfect mix of historical details, folk tales, and vivid descriptions that you feel you are walking the snickelways of York, wandering around the York Minster and along the banks of the River Ouse. It's simply brilliant.
And if that wasn't enough, the storyline is amazing. I love how it starts slow, with Judge Caruthers' nightmares and her comprehensible need to understand what's going on. Sully and Dez investigating the pseudo-therapist is one of the funniest in the book.
Raiya lends them a hand, and they get some clues, but even Eva's prowess with online investigation can give them nothing more than a name from an old census and an address.
Thus, our heroes end in York, investigating a possible location where the event that haunts the Judge might have come to pass. Things are, so far, not very dreary. Although there is this guy who keeps popping up on Sully's radar, and there is a very annoyed ghost in there, there is no real sense of danger. Until Sully is knocked down by the strange guy who is following them.
From then on, the rhythm of the story accelerates, our boys face real danger, as their client (who flew to England) and the owner of the haunted house do, too. And be aware, there are some truly terrifying scenes ahead. A couple of them in an oubliette, for god's sake!
I liked the secondary characters a lot, and I wish there were a ghost tour guide like Doctor Elaine Markwell. It would be another very good reason to visit York *dies laughing*
I also enjoyed a lot the way in which the story ends, there is a very gratifying sense of completion, of old hurts healed, a sense of true peace achieved for all those involved.
One of the best books in this series, and that's a lot to say!

I was so excited when this book was announced and instantly started reading on kindle (and ordered a physical copy!) I love how every time you pick up one of these books you instantly feel like you’re back with friends as these characters are so full of personality you just feel like you know them so well and through reading each book like they’ve become a part of you. The plot as always was so unusual and spooky and I absolutely love the way Heather incorporates links between characters and twists you don’t see coming within the book. It’s so cleverly done and always feels so natural. I loved being back in Kimotan Rapids and also in this case York, it was so cool to see locations I was familiar with! This will forever remain one of my favourite groups of characters and authors ever!

Another great book by H.P. Bayne
I read this book pretty quickly. Which I love because this series is so good, but I hate because then I have to wait impatiently for the next one. I love the investigations that Sully and Dez go on, the sad, scary, and sometimes relatable details when Sully connects w a ghost, the understandable fear Dez has but still takes care of and supports Sully. Such good books! I really loves this series.

This case was kind of cool. Past lives. It led to some scary events not only for Sully but for Dez too. How does one go about finding out what happened to someone a couple hundred years ago? It helps to have the ghost in question around to help point you in the right direction. I wasn’t expecting that truth, though. I love these characters. Dez and Sully are just fantastic.

Sweet rousing mystery
This one went quick for me. Such an intriguing mystery. I also loved the main setting of the story I was lucky enough to visit York in college and the author did an amazing job of bringing the visuals of the old town to life. I loved the fact that some of York's ancient Roman past was brought into the story.

Another winner!
After Sully and Dez have been contacted by a judge in their hometown of Kimotan Falls, her nightmare problems take them to York. This leads to a large, old estate in one of the most haunted cities in the world and takes them on a surprising adventure of frightening twists and turns!

Brilliant read
As usual the boys run headlong into danger, spooks and even better on York. Sully does what he does with the aid of Dez as his bodyguard and best big brother. Haunted house in York, judge from KR and the boys....what could go wrong 🤣

I have read every book in the bradock and grey series
I must say you still keep giving.
A wonderful story line,at times i had to stop readings i could go to sleep as I should have been having a nightmare.

Great read
I loved this story line. I’ve read all of the Dez and Sully books. This one would make a great movie and I picture Keanu Reeves as Sully. I love reading ghost stories and H. P Bayne has the best

OMG This was one of the best ones yet. Love the way the whole adventurer starts and builds. Love the various characters in this Story. I HIGHLY recommend this book as well as the whole series!!

Another smashing visit with Sully & Dez. I love this series. This author is a go to for me now. I have read all her books. She does spooky with epic character development like no other.

Not your usual murder mystery or ghost story. This author is a master storyteller. I’ve read all of The Braddock & Gray Case Files, and the Sullivan Gray Series. And all of the Wray Mallory books (Wray is a fantastic character in the Braddock & Gray Case Files.) I highly recommend any and all of H. P. Bayne books.
