This book was crazy. I really had fun reading this book. The concept was good character's and writing were awsome. I would definitely recommend if you are a fan of extreme horror \bizarro. This is my first read of Shane McKenzie and it won't be my last. I gave this one 4 stars because I wish the concept of this story developed was a little more and I was expecting a little more violence, but other than that this is a kick ass crazy ride.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

The story centres around Gary, who whilst out in the woods managed to free 2 demons. These demons 'feed' off of acts of sex and violence and can manipulate those around them into doing all manner of despicable things. At first Gary is seduced with the power of the demons and uses them for his own needs to get revenge. Things quickly spiral out of control.

This was great fun to read, as the story continues the situations become more outlandish and the author goes into splatterpunk overdrive giving his readers tons of sex and gore bang for their buck. Whilst I really enjoyed the novella, I found Gary to be unlikeable and hard to engage with as a character. For me I need at least one person I can sort of root for in a story. This was my only gripe as otherwise it's a fast paced read that is gloriously over the top and has a great ending. I'm really enjoying discovering this authors work and look forward to his next book.

This was great, twisted fun. I loved the feedlings. In particular, Mary Jane is so alluring. What her and Gary became...wow! I was grabbed from the start of the book and did not want to stop reading.
I am trying to get through as many of the 2013 Wonderland Award nominees as possible before voting ends for preliminaries on July 31rst and I am so pleased that I was steered toward this one.

I was given a copy of this book by deadite press in exchange for a review. This is my second book by Shane McKenzie and I have loved them both, his style it's extreme in the amounts of depravity and Gore yet somehow managed to keep a light tone to it at the same time, my best description of his work is that it is like a really fucked up offensive joke that makes you laugh and then immediately feel like a piece of shit for laughing at it. The novel is about a couple demons called feedlings that can force their will on people and then eat the sexual and violent energy that is emitted from the stuff they make people do, they are discovered by one of the world's biggest losers who thinks he can use them to get revenge against all the people who have wronged him but things don't always go exactly as planned. By the end of the book the imaginative descriptions of sex and violence are so packed into the pages that for a short stretch I actually got bored of it because there just want anything else he could say to shock me anymore. All in all it was a great and fun read and I recommend it.

This is the kind of novella splatterpunk fans drool over. It should come with a warning label for those with an aversion to both sex and violence and for those with weak stomachs. Underneath the gore and body fluids is a very well written novella.

Gary is the kind of guy we all like to make fun of and ignore but what happens when he's given the power to get revenge through two seedlings who feed off of sex and violence? It doesn't take long before that power spins out of Gary's control.

Yes this is a very gory and violent book but there is a story here and Shane McKenzie balances out the violence and gore with a story that is highly addictive. For awhile we cheer on the loser but as soon as everything spirals out of control we have this urge to scream at him for being so stupid. What did he think would happen?

As the ending draws close we get a serious plot twist and it's all over. The ending wasn't at all what I expected and I hope at some point there's a sequel. I received a PDF copy of this in exchange for an honest review and while this may be my first time reading a book by Shane McKenzie it certainly won't be my last. This was dark and twisted but in a good way

My first Shane McKenzie book and while not as disturbing as I was expecting, still enough gore and violence to keep me reading.

I didn't love nor hate this, but I can't really fault it either because it is what it is. Graphic horrific content. I felt a little removed from the action in this, almost as if I were a spectator behind glass. It might have been the character and my inability to relate to him, more than any writing style or technique.

Certainly not for those with weak stomachs or sympathetic vomiters, Fat off sex and violence should intrigue as much as it disturbs with its graphic content and explosive conclusion.

I'm keen to see what else Shane has on offer, this will not be the last of his I read.

There is no way to describe what this story is about. Yes there is sex and violence but there is also demons, abusive stepfathers and nerds. I enjoyed every second of this and even though my daughter is on school holidays I still managed to finish this in one day. It was visceral, naughty and downright weird in places. Everything we have come to expect and want from Mr. Mckenzie.

Less of a horror and more gross-out bizarro, Shane McKenzie puts his usual extreme spin on the story of two demons which are awakened from their enforced slumber by a reprehensible excuse for a human being who then thinks he can use them for his own depraved ends.

McKenzie excels in setting up his protagonist to be despised, but is less successful in trying to redeem him toward the end of the book.

As such, this is the middle of the road read for me, but fans of McKenzie will no doubt get their expected fill of ... sex and violence.

This is only the third work I have read by Shane McKenzie but I have to say he is quickly becoming one of my favorite horror authors.

The story follows Gary, a loser by all accounts, whose life is just about as bad as it gets. After a particularly bad fight with his soon-to-be step dad, Gary runs off into the forest and unknowingly awakens an evil which should have stayed buried. Of course this evil is seductive and knows all of Gary's greatest desires better than he does himself. He quickly gives himself over to these desires, but soon realizes that sometimes things can be too good to be true. As events spiral out of control Gary soon realizes that this evil is not so easily controlled and that he might have made the last mistake of his pathetic life. I do not want to give away any more details as it could spoil the story.

McKenzie crafts another twisted yet amazing story with Fat off Sex and Violence. I enjoyed the graphic nature of this book and how he continues to push the envelope with the plots of his stories. This is one roller coaster of a book that you will not be able to put down. Pick this one up as soon as you can.

I received a copy of this book for free in e-book format in return for an honest review.

Fat Off Sex and Violence is a clever allegory for all of us splatterpunk/extreme horror fans. We read book after book looking for more sex and violence, but it's never enough to quench our thirst. Once we finish one depraved story we immediately move on to the next one in the hopes that we find something that disturbs us and rattles us to our core even more than the last one did.

The book has a great concept, and it was satisfying to watch our protagonist get revenge on everyone who ever mistreated him, but I feel like more could've been done with the powers he was given. With a bit of creativity he could've taken over the world or become rich and famous, but instead the most we see him do is attack a couple of high school bullies and incite an orgy at a church.

I loved when Mary Jane was introduced, but the story took a bit of a dive when we got to meet her brother Kronos. Once he came into the picture the story just became a mindless gore fest and I found myself skipping 5-6 pages at a time as the author described scenes of gratuitous violence involving nameless characters that I dont know or care about.

As stated before, the book had a great concept, but I just feel as if it never reached its full potential and it got a bit dull and tedious towards the end.

Shane McKenzie is easily one of sickest voices in a new generation of extreme horror writers. The Richard Laymon, Edward Lee influence is there, but McKenzie doesn't rest on simple influence, he runs with it, brands it, makes it his own by giving us relatable characters, not stock, and best of all he trims the fat and gives a lean, creative story, that's unpredictable, and deliciously violent. McKenzie seems to know what fans of extreme horror like, and he won't waste your time.
Fat Off Sex and Violence is a good example of this. Our protagonist is far from stock, he's not good or evil...he's probably just like you or me...
What would you do if you discovered two entities that feed on sex and violence, and could supposedly make your life better?
I won't give too much away, but this book is just anarchy!
I've never been disappointed with a Shane McKenzie story, they're always above all a good time.

I didn't get into All You Can Eat as I don't really enjoy the Bizarro sub-genre. I was excited to receive this copy for review as the synopsis sounded really interesting.

I read this within a few hours. It was fantastical and horrific all at once; a really imaginative and totally unbelievable tale which completely takes you into a world of magic and weirdness and sweet revenge.

This story started off sounding like a modern-day fairy tale and took my completely by surprise when it took a very dark turn. There is tons of sex and violence, or violent sex. The underlying message is universal; be careful what you wish for or, like our protagonist, Gary, you might live to regret it

Fat Off Sex and Violence is a short hardcore horror novel by Shane McKenzie and published by Deadite Press.

This story starts off with your stereotypical overweight nerd named Gary who dreams of becoming a huge comic book artist and moving out of his small town. Sadly, his dreams don’t come true and he gets kicked out his mom’s house. He goes into the woods, jacks off to some comics and his semen brings a feedling to life. Sidenote: A feedling is similar to a succubbus. They feed off sexual energy and this one’s hunger is insatiable.

Gary becomes the “master” of this feedling who claims she can bring his wildest sexual fantasies to life. However, he soon realizes that his fantasies come at a much deeper cost than he anticipated. It cuts into his moral fiber and the people he cares about most.

McKenzie’s writing reminds me a little bit of Richard Laymon and Brian McNaughton. There’s plenty of sex and violence that is fueled by Gary’s newfound power. I can’t help but think of the Kanye West’s song where he says “No one man can have this much power.”

McKenzie has what the young folks call a working man’s prose. Simple and punchy sentences that keeps the story chugging along at nice pace. A word of caution to the weak stomachs: this book is gory and pulls no punches.

Fat Off Sex and Violence is gripping, hardcore horror at its finest. I can’t wait to devour another one of McKenzie’s novels.

Great piece of work that had me hooked from start to finish. I'm a big fan of over the top, outrageous, b-rated horror flicks, and "Fat Off Sex and Violence" had many of those same qualities. Made me feel right at home. I actually had maybe a hint of jealous envy toward a couple of the character's (feedlings) special powers. Sure wish I had the power to make people do the stuff they made them do. Pretty bad stuff but, great for the reader at the same time. All in all, an absolute fun, entertaining read well worth escaping to. You want gross? You got it. You want eye rolling, LOL/WTF moments? Look no further. Horror, gore, twisted humor?... Yep, it's all here. Buy it, read it, but most of all - ENJOY IT!!!

This is sick stuff. It moves fast and dives into an orgy of carnage that will make you feel like you should've rolled out a tarp.

The "hero" is a born loser with a lot of grudges and a knack for celibacy simply because his hygiene is bad and his social skills are beyond pathetic (his right hand though, is crazy busy). That is until he meets the "feedlings," and things start going his way. At least for a while.

If you like your horror extreme, you should enjoy this book. Be warned, though: You may never want to eat pickle chips ever again.

Where can I find some feedlings, I mean seriously, I could use a pair right now. If you have read anything by Shane McKenzie, you know that the gore is righteous and the blood is flowing here in this newer one by the author. Gary, a comic book geek and loser unearths a feedling, and the answers to his lonely virginal days are over. However, when Gary encounters the feedling's brother, things get a bit out of hand. Fast moving, and gore drenched, a great read indeed.
