Dead Sentence

Rate this book
In this prison, some sentences last forever…

When Ten and Ronan take a late-night tour of a decommissioned naval prison, they expect ghost stories, cold spots, and maybe a cheap scare or two. What they find instead is a prison that was never truly abandoned.

Deep within the crumbling cellblocks, the spirits of dead inmates still serve out their sentences, trapped in an endless afterlife of isolation, violence, and obedience. The guards still patrol the halls. The cells still lock at night. And the prison refuses to let anyone leave.

As terrifying secrets about the prison’s past begin to surface, Ten and Ronan realize the hauntings are not random but part of something designed to keep the dead imprisoned forever. And now the prison has marked them as inmates too.

To escape, they must uncover the truth behind the prison’s curse before their own life sentences begin.

Pandora Pine

Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.

In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.

Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.

Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.

Love This chosen family

Another fun read with Ronan, Ten and the gang. A beach vacation wouldn’t be a vacation without battling a demon and releasing almost 30 people into the light, and there was a new and special element to Everly’s powers in this book with the help of Jude, Bertha and Crowe and something Ronan will never forget! Oh and we find out that 3 year old Ezzie has indeed inherited his father’s psychic abilities.

A cute story but…

Normally, I enjoy all of Pandora’s stories, but the many continuity errors in this one made it very hard to enjoy. Her editing team needs to do a better job on proofing her writing. One glaring being that one minute the ghost’s name is Katherine and the next it’s Elizabeth - often on the same page.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the next story.

Brilliant

Dead Sentence is as brilliant and moving as always from Pandora. Someday I'm going to have to buy all the Cold Case and Haunted Souls books I haven't got and do a mass re-read!! It'll cost an absolute fortune but boy will it be worth it and THAT'S how good these books are!

I do enjoy these stories and how the kids are growing and especially how Everly is getting more powerful. I wondered why Jude picked a spot where there was a an abandoned Naval Prison since Ten was still coping with what happened with Autumn Miller and his arrest and almost being killed but he did get better by helping the poor spirits who were imprisoned by the evil warden. I also deducted a star because of the poor editing with the Katherine and Elizabeth names mixup at the beginning and at the end and some words misspelled or missing.

This story was another win in my opinion. Everly just keeps getting stronger and stronger and is becoming more important in every book lately. I find that I do miss the relationship between the adults though. Still, I definitely recommend this book and all the series that Ms. Pine writes.

The gang decide to go to NH for Memorial Day weekend and when they are there they visit a haunted prison.
There are lots of ghosts who are held there by an evil warden.
This book is really an Everley book as she goes dreamwalking and then solves the issue.
