A line that shouldn’t be crossed and a Daddy who can’t turn back…

DAMON

I’ve spent my life in combat zones and have seen the worst of humanity. This mission was supposed to be easy and straightforward—protect the embassy from cartel threats. Instead, I’m stuck babysitting Mackenzi Bradenburg, the ambassador’s bratty daughter.

She’s the real danger. Too young for me, undeniably beautiful, and my son’s ex. If I had any sense left, I’d stay the hell away. Yet, every breath she takes tests my control. She’s everything I shouldn’t want and can’t stop wanting. But I’m falling for her like a fool and putting both of us at risk.

MACKENZI

I’ve been yanked from campus and dumped in a South American embassy “for my own safety,” thanks to my father’s enemies and his obsession with control. Now I’m stuck under 24/7 protection, surrounded by grim-faced men who bark orders like I’m the enemy. Except one of them doesn’t bark. Damon growls. And I like it.

He’s tattooed, brooding, and old enough to be my father. If that’s not bad enough, I’m far too inexperienced for him. I should stay away, but the more he watches me like he owns me, the more I want to misbehave—just to see what he’ll do.

Falling for him is reckless. But calling him Daddy feels so good.

Mackenzi Bradenburg has always been academically wise beyond her years, which has made fitting in with her peers nearly impossible. But at Westbridge University, she’s found the closest thing she’s ever had to a normal life. When her father, a U.S. ambassador, calls in Aegis Tactical Solutions to return her to Cartagena as tensions rise and threats mount, that sense of normalcy quickly disappears. Before long, the embassy walls start to feel as if they’re closing in around her.

Damon has spent most of his life in the crossfire. Between the dangers of his career and the sacrifices it demands, he’s long accepted that a family of his own probably isn’t in the cards. Then he meets Mackenzi and, for the first time in a long time, sees the possibility of something more.

Shocking (not)… I loved these two!! A 20-year age gap is about my limit, but Mackenzi's maturity made it feel natural rather than forced. I never found myself fixating on the age difference because the connection between them was so genuine.

The layers of this story kept everything interesting. Between the suspense, the danger, and the emotional depth, I was flipping pages as fast as humanly possible to see what happened next. At this point, I'm starting to think Jodie can do no wrong!

J.L. Quick's "Damon" is so good! I usually don't read military romances because they can get a little too ooo-rah for me, but I took a chance on this one, and I am sure glad I did. It's a forced-proximity bodyguard age-gap daddy k1nk romance between Mackenzi (FMC), a college student and the daughter of an ambassador under threat of attack from a cartel, and Damon (MMC), a gruff, tattooed, brooding former military man/trained k1ller. One random day, while she's in her college class, Mackenzi is abruptly pulled out of it by Damon and his crew and taken to a South American safe house. Damon has been tasked with being Mackenzi's glorified babysitter while the threats against her and her father hopefully blow over. Mackenzi is very upset about this new development in her life and makes Damon's life difficult by arguing and squabbling with him at every turn. He nicknames her "Trouble" because, well, she's trouble. Despite being much older than her, Damon is instantly attracted to Mackenzi's fiery spirit and brattiness and sass. He never thought he was capable of caring and gentleness because of the things he has gone through and experienced in life, but with her, he is. She never thought she could put her insecurities aside to be worshipped and loved for the beauty that she is, but with him, she does. This story is full of tension, panic, betrayal, exploration, and hot, Hot, HOT spice. I found myself fully immersed in this book from the very first chapter. I was on the edge of my seat as Mackenzi increasingly became the target of the cartel's attacks. Mackenzi's brattiness might bug some readers, but I thought it was hilarious. She's constantly putting her foot in her mouth and speaking before thinking, frequently putting Damon and the other Dark Daddies of Delta Force on their toes with her catty snipes and swipes. I *adored* Damon... my god, what a brooding zaddy. His protective nature made me SWOON. The way he took control... in more than one situation, if you catch my drift... really worked for me. I thought this book was a terrific balance of intense suspense, romance, and spice, with a good dose of emotionality as well. Great book, I will definitely go back and read the last two, and am looking forward to the final book in the series!

Thank you to J.L. Quick and Luna Literary for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

5🌟, 3🌶️

This was my first book by this author, and I’m already wondering why I waited so long.

Damon and Mackenzi completely pulled me in, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Their chemistry felt effortless, and despite the age gap, their relationship never felt forced to me.

I loved how this blended romance, suspense, and emotion without sacrificing the pacing. Mackenzi’s sass and vulnerability balanced perfectly with Damon’s protective, gruff personality, and watching them slowly tear down each other’s walls was incredibly satisfying. Every twist kept me hooked, and I was fully invested from beginning to end.

By the final page, I wasn’t ready to leave this world or these characters. The found family, the tension, and the emotional payoff all came together beautifully.

I already know I’ll be reading the rest of the series because I need everyone else’s story.

Huge thank you to J.L. Quick and Luna Literary for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

First off, thank you to the author J.I Quick for sending me this arc to read! I went in totally blind and omg it was so worth it. This is why I enjoy receiving arcs!!! In normal circumstances I would never go for a book with this particular trope however I am so happy I did! I was able to bypass the whole daddy thing and appreciate the actual storyline and omg it did not disappoint! When I say I screamed at that phone call💀 out of all the people she had to go with….

I devoured this story in one sitting, I could not physically put it down. It had me on a rollercoaster of emotions and so many twist and turns even I didn’t expect! The fact this is part of a series, I couldn’t be more happier to go and download each and everyone because I love all of the team, especially Jagger 🤭 I just know his story is gonna be hilarious. I think this is the easiest 5* rating I have gave out and I’m so bloody excited for the next book, August can’t come close enough 🥹😭😭😭

I really enjoyed reading this super hot story. There is a nice age gap and a D@ddy k!nk. Mackenzi is Damon’s current “problem.” He’s been put in charge of guarding her since there have been threats against her family. She is his son’s ex-girlfriend and also the woman can’t stop thinking about. The major problem is, she wants him just as much as he wants her. I loved the smexual tension between these two, the forced proximity was great. The flirty banter and the spice was so awesome! Definitely add this one to your list.

Damon is the third book in the Dark Daddies of the Delta Force series, and it was such a fun, fast-paced read. If you love an obsessed, protective MMC who falls hard from the start, plenty of spice, and age-gap romance, you’ll definitely want to pick this one up. The ex-boyfriend’s dad trope made for some hilarious and awkward moments, and the reveal had me laughing out loud.

Damon was intense, possessive, and completely devoted to Mackenzi. I loved that he always put her first, even when things with his son complicated everything. The found family aspect was one of my favorite parts of this story and adds so much heart.

Mackenzi’s innocence and lack of confidence really emphasized the age gap, which may not work for everyone, but I still found myself rooting for her and loved watching her get the happily ever after she deserved. I do wish a few storylines, especially involving Damon’s son, had been wrapped up a little more, but overall I really enjoyed this one and it definitely made me want to keep reading the series.

Makenzie and Damon were perfect together. He was exactly what she needed and she was what he needed. It was like fate brought them together at the right time. Despite the age gap, the heart wants what it wants and if that's a daddy then so be it. It was swoony with tension and boiling chemistry between them. I loved this one.

Just when I think I have a favorite Delta Daddy, the next one comes out and shows out! 😍

Damon, Damon, Damon! Gahhh I’m obsessed!

The way this man was beyond overprotective, obsessed, and fell HARD for his woman! I love it!

I love how all of the Delta Daddies are still so involved and apparent in this series, even if it’s not their book. The found family vibes are fantastic! Jagger and Gunner were hilarious and I missed Jagger from his book, so I’m glad we got to see him again!

If you like:

Thank you Luna Literary for the arc!

Tropes:
-Daddy Kink
- Ex-Boyfriend’s Dad
- Age Gap (20 years)
- bodyguard romance
- Virgin FMC
- Plus Size FMC

TWs: mentions of blood after sex for the first time, guns (not aimed at FMC), violence (not at FMC)

This book has a pretty decent premise . I did get the ick when Damon at the final 50% would only talk about himself in third person as Daddy. It's fun as a kink, but there's a time and place. For FMC to scream it through the house on several occasions is very uncomfortable.

DNF at 87%. Wasn't doing it for me and the nicknames really bugged me in an ick way--especially when she called Damon "daddy" in front of her own father. Gross! Nicknames don't always bug me in books, but they did for this one. The plot was flimsy. I didn't understand why she wasn't taken to a safe house or something. Seemed like a sitting duck.

A fun bodyguard read! I enjoyed Damon and Mackenzi’s story, the age gap was hot and I loved the daddy kink.

There’s no 3rd act breakup, and the usual problems that arise from an age gap ex boyfriends dad romance were shut down pretty quickly by Damon 😍 He was not letting Mackenzi go at all.

Thank you for the ARC.

Loved reading Damon and McKenzie's story! Each book in the Dark Daddies of Delta Force has been better than the last and I loved Hawk and Jagger, so Damon came after two tough acts to follow. Yet JL Quick wrote another amazing story with plenty of romance, humor, heat and a perfect blend of suspense and danger.

Damon and his team are called in for private security detail for a US ambassador and his daughter, after threats have been made by a dangerous cartel.

But this job isn't like any other Damon has taken on, because McKenzie is unlike any one he has ever met. That first meeting, seeing their very visible reaction to each other set the scene for the high tension and attraction that they feel and it only grows stronger the more they get to know each other. The relationship grew gradually, didn't feel rushed at all and made their forbidden relationship that much more believable. McKenzie was equal parts, studious, socially awkward college girl and bratty daddy's girl. Damon on the other had was a toughened soldier who didn't think a girl like McKenzie existed for him. All I will say is our MMC is smart enough not to squander his chance at a HEA!

♡♡♡
"It's like I was wandering this world, lost, and the universe aligned every star in the sky just to lead me to you."
♡♡♡

The family drama also took twists I didn't see coming, from both sides, which kept me glued to the pages. I love when a story takes an unexpected turn and this one took a couple that left me surprised but in the best way possible. This forbidden age gap romance delivered everything it promised and then some. Highly recommend!

Favorite Bits:
🖤 McKenzie's bratty side
🖤 The snippets of the rest of the Daddies!
🖤 When their relationship is outed (both times). I love how both MCs didn't waiver from their feelings or let others come between them.

Damon was one of those books that grabbed me from the very first chapter and refused to let go.

I came for the age gap, forced proximity, and bodyguard romance, but I stayed for Damon and Mackenzi. Their chemistry was instant, their banter was hilarious, and the tension between them practically leapt off the page.

Mackenzi was an absolute riot. She's smart, stubborn, impulsive, and constantly speaking before thinking. Some readers may find her bratty, but I thought she was hilarious. She kept Damon and his entire team on their toes and brought so much personality to every scene she was in.

And Damon?

Goodness.

This man was everything I want in a protective romance hero. Brooding, tattooed, possessive, fiercely loyal, and completely devoted once he falls. Underneath his tough exterior was a man carrying the weight of his past and questioning whether he was capable of being the kind of person someone could truly love.

What surprised me most was the emotional depth woven throughout the story. Yes, it's spicy. Very spicy. But underneath all of that was a story about healing, confidence, trust, and finding peace in another person.

I loved watching Mackenzi grow into herself throughout the story. Damon never saw her insecurities the way she did. He saw someone worth protecting, cherishing, and believing in. Their relationship challenged both of them to become stronger versions of themselves.

The suspense kept me hooked from beginning to end. As the cartel threat escalated and danger closed in around Mackenzi, I found myself completely invested in both the action and the romance. The balance between suspense, emotion, humor, and chemistry was incredibly well done.

And the team banter? Absolutely one of my favorite parts. The Dark Daddies of Delta Force brought so much humor and camaraderie to the story.

Damon is a spicy, addictive, action-packed romance filled with tension, heart, danger, and one unforgettable protective hero.

Thank you to J.L. Quick and Luna Literary for the opportunity to read and review Damon before release. Damon and Mackenzi's journey completely pulled me in, and I already know I'll be going back to read the rest of this series. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Story ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐.5
Spice 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️.5

Mackenzi is at the university when Damon, her father's hired bodyguard, takes her to Cartagena since the cartel dealers have threatened to kill them. She tried to argue with Damon and his other bodyguard friend and resisted to be escorted home. She simply gives up and accompanies them after realising there is no sense in fighting with them. She is frustrated and sad that she wasn't able to say goodbye to her boyfriend, Gabe, especially because their relationship has gotten a little complicated. Back home, Damon, Mackenzi's personal bodyguard, keeps a close eye on her and warns her from leaving the house. After spending some time together, the way they interact is drastically shifting.

Mackenzi is a bright, naive, sassy and stubborn girl who seeks to fit in but is too smart for her generation. She craves respect, empathy, and love for what she is. She also feels less confident because she is a curvy female. However, with Damon, everything will be forgotten because he is the one who makes her feel safe, loved, and cherished.

Damon takes his profession seriously and is a grumpy, loyal, strong, and protective man. He missed important moments in his son's life since he was constantly away on missions and at different jobs. He has found a challenge to stay in touch with him and to be a good father. At this new job, where he needs to be close with Mackenzi, he discovers that there can be hope in his life to be happy and loved by someone.

It's the first book I've read by J.L Quick. And I want to say how impressed I am. The storyline is amazing.
Damon became fascinated with Mackenzi purely because of her brightness, sassiness, and innocence. They have a beautiful and enjoyable pull and push. Mackenzi also falls easily in love with him because of his kindness, concern, and protectiveness.
Not to mention the intense moments where Damon treats her with kindness, patience, and compassion, which is something else. I love it.

I became interested in finding out about Damon's friends because of their connection.
I'm keen to read about Gunnar.

✨ ARC REVIEW: Damon ✨

✍️: J.L. Quick @jlquickwrites

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5) 📚💕🔥

First, a huge thank you to Luna Literary and J.L. Quick for the opportunity to review the ARC of Damon.

If you’re looking for a book packed with a daddy trope, age gap romance, military protector vibes, a bratty FMC, and the delicious complication of falling for your ex’s estranged dad… this one delivers.

Mackenzie is absolutely hilarious. Her inability to keep her thoughts to herself had me laughing throughout the entire book. She brings so much fire and personality to every scene, and her chemistry with Damon is instant and undeniable.

And Damon? Total zaddy. Protective, obsessed, patient, and a phenomenal teacher in more ways than one. Watching these two navigate their relationship was equal parts heartwarming, hilarious, and incredibly hot.

The team banter is always one of my favorite parts of this series, and Mackenzie slides right into the chaos, making every interaction even better.

One quote that really stuck with me:

“And for the first time in my life, I understand how one person can be someone else’s peace.”

And another beautiful moment:

“The mirror becomes a window to a version of myself I never knew existed—a woman who is bold, desired, and unapologetically sexual. A woman who is watching herself being thoroughly and completely loved.”

The spice level? 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Let’s just say there were moments that had me kicking my feet and fanning myself.

This was a quick read—pun absolutely intended—because once I started, I couldn’t put it down. Damon and Mackenzie’s story is sexy, funny, emotional, and completely addictive.

Tropes you’ll love:
✨ Daddy trope
✨ Age gap
✨ Military protector
✨ Ex’s dad
✨ Bratty FMC
✨ Protective/obsessive MMC

A fun, spicy, binge-worthy romance that had me hooked from beginning to end. 📚🔥💕

I already knew these military Daddy books would be spicy, but damn — Daddy Damon takes things to the next level.

Because of the big age gap, I was a little nervous about how this would turn out, but of course J.L. brought it home with style.

Kenzi is a 19‑year‑old student who has spent her whole life trying to fit in with older students. And older for a reason — she’s smart enough to have climbed the academic ladder faster than most. Because of her father’s situation, Kenzi needs protection, and that’s where Damon and his friends step in.

Kenzi is a brat in the way someone her age naturally is — questioning orders and pushing back against authority. Damon is the military man she challenges the most right from the start, and their chemistry clicks instantly.

A great twist here is that Damon is the father of Kenzi’s ex. Throughout the story I waited excitedly for this to come out, and when it did, it was such an addictive moment that I devoured the book in one go.

When you combine two forbidden themes — a 20‑year age gap and the ex’s father — you really can’t go wrong if the author has even a bit of skill. J.L. keeps the reader hooked with the ex’s‑father tension and the age‑gap tension, and on top of that, Kenzi is the daughter of an ambassador, which is why Damon is hired to protect her. The moments when these threads come to light for everyone are absolutely captivating.

Daddy Damon is unbelievably, sizzlingly hot — the kind of man that makes you hope your AC is working or that you’ve got an ice pack nearby.

I loved the extra layer the crossovers brought, especially Jagger from the previous book, who made me laugh several times.

In summary, I enjoyed this book immensely, and J.L. continues to impress by creating a vivid continuation for the military daddies — not just around a single main character, but by bringing the whole team’s chemistry, trust, and banter into the story in a believable way.

Damon written by J.L. Quick is the third book in the Dark Daddies of Delta Force series. Thank you to Luna Literary for the opportunity to continue this series by reading the ARC. I have been waiting for Damon's story to be shared. I have been addicted to this series and it just keeps getting better. It has a little bit of everything. As suspected, J.L. totally delivered again with the dark daddies friend group. I completely ignored all my adulting for the day and read this book in one sitting. I have been waiting and it did not disappoint.

Damon has made so many personal sacrifices for the job. One of the biggest sacrifices he endures is his relationship with his son. Well, Mackenzi happens to be his son’s ex-girlfriend. She is young and a little bratty but Damon is intrigued by that. She is a complete firecracker, not one to go without a fight. As expected the plot is full of suspense, danger, tension, forced proximity, and forbidden love. I was on the edge of my chair a few times. The forbidden daddy spice, protective reactions, and the complete push and pull of emotions felt by the characters were so well written.

I have said this before in reference to this series, but the friendships between all of the Delta Daddies is unbreakable. A foundation of found family with unconditional love and respect. The personal growth for Mackenzi and Damon is very important during their story. I think it comes with age for Mackenzi, but for Damon it is about allowing yourself to have something you want.

This series is one of the few military trope books that I have enjoyed. It is not something I naturally gravitate to. J.L. Quick’s ability to hook the reader from the start is amazing. I can’t get enough and I will keep coming back! I am absolutely excited to read Gunnar’s story next. I still think about Hawk and Jagger’s characters from time to time, so I can add Damon to that list now. I love that these men have found women that are worth the risk.

This is the first book I've read in the Dark Daddies of Delta Force series. I'm sure reading these books in order would probably always be the best way, I can say that I didn't feel like I was missing any obvious story line, instead i was able to simply enjoy the story for what it was.

McKenzie is the ambassador's daughter, studying in bio engineering in college. McKenzie has always been studious and not the party girl, her boyfriend Gabe has been patient and respectful of her virginity, but after 6 months, his frustrations are showing.

Damon, ex marine, now private security has been told to collect the 'asset' to protect her safety, so he travels to her college to take her back to the embassy and her father, the college is the same one his son Gabriel goes to.

Once back at home, things develop quickly between the two. McKenzie has finally found someone who she feels safe with, someone who tells her she is perfect just as she is, someone who doesn't want to rush her and regularly checks in with her.

Damon, never thought he would get a happy ever after. He got his girlfriend pregnant at 18, they married but after 2 years, together they separated, on reasonably good terms. In an attempt to leave behind the gang he had joined in his childhood, he joined the military to enable him to provide for his family, but this meant he wasn't around whilst his son grew up.

Damon at 20 years older, is very much McKenzie's Daddy and it was enjoyable to read their dynamic, see their relationship develop and their spicy life too.

To top all this off, we uncover exactly how deep her father is with some dangerous and unscrupulous people and how far they are willing to go to get what they want.

This is definitely worth a read, if you like an age gap, military book.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advanced copy.

Damon and Makenzie
She’s in trouble and a high risks. He is a special ops detail who is her protector
She’s 20 years his junior. She thinks she is not the women she should be young and inexperienced but Damon is going to prove her that she is.
They can’t stand each other at forst but there’s is this unspoken magnetic pull beteeen both of them like it was meant to be threw the chaos and confusion.
Makenzie
Is a young woman, smart as a whip, beautiful, kind and becoming a confident woman. She’s the daughter of an ambassador whom is in a position that’s needs her perfected at all costs.
Damon is a thirty something man special ops now retired but has is own security special forces team with his found bothers. He is handsome sexy, smart, protects what’s his, a bit of a grump and loyal to a fault.
They were not looking for one another but yet they found one another and next thing you know they can’t be without each other! The fact that he will burn down the world for her and she will never give him up is chefs kiss. Oh and yes there is that age gap that adds to their story. They are so hot together and the way they are with one another and how they become one it’s just everything and then some.
You can’t help but sheet these ones one. This book was suspenseful, funny, heartfelt, and romantic it was so good.
⭐️ 5 stars for sure
🌶️4 oh the spice was spicy
💜2.5 for the heartfelt moments. My own personal rating.
Oh and before I forget i read this as a standalone I didn’t not read the other books before in this series and it was pretty smooth. You can defiantly read this as a standalone but I will say this I personally now want to read the other books in this series, if they were as good as this one then oooh weee!! Yes honey!!! Bring them on…..

I do enjoy a good bodyguard romance.

These men are everything I want from them every time. They are doms but also not mean, caring and understanding, loyal and loving. Damon cared so much about Kenzie from the get go it was the sweetest. I did love how much of a brat tamer he was, what can I say. He appreciated every part of her, her feisty attitude but also, her quiet moments. He was so good. Even with the danger surrounding her, he never once let her down.

Kenzie was actually great. She didn’t act like an immature child, but she had the right to be pissed and a little mean when being ripped from what you know in a whim under no explanation. Her attitude was the best and once she gave into the chemistry with Damon, she grew even more into herself. She needed a little help loving her body, but he was the man there for that.

Now now, when the tropes dropped I was so excited. The angst, the taboo, the forbidden…but I was a little let down. The ex-bf sad thing was just too late in the game in my opinion. If it had been known from the beginning the tension and push-pull would have been immaculate.

And also? Gabe was an asshole when he broke up with her, pushed her boundaries and then said the “because of the frat” bullshit and that was never addressed again? By no one? Really?! I needed a humbling moment on his ass.

I cannot wait for Gunnar to fold like a cheap lawn chair so that everyone in the team can have their well earned HEA.

Thank you so much to, Luna and J.L. Quick for this advanced copy, trust I’ll be first in line for the last book!!

My Spicy Rating: 4/5🌶

I love this series so much. In my opinion, Damon is more smut than plot. Yes, it has action and suspense. But it is very smutty. And I'm not complaining. I just love a man who wants to live inside his girl. That's one of my favorite spicy tropes. The obsession. How he can't stay away. The possessiveness. The need to own them completely. And the age gap and the virgin FMC trope is such a hot combination.

I love the family this series has created. The brotherhood. How they support each other but also give each other sh*t. The jokes and banter when they realize one of them has fallen hard for their girl. The age jokes. I can't wait for Gunner.

Damon is book three in the Dark Daddies of Delta Force. I would NOT read it as a standalone. I understand it can be read as such but after reading the first two books, there is crucial information in book one, that is not mentioned in book two or three, about how Aegis was started. Who Mattis and Abby are. But also, you start falling in love with the guys from book one. So far every book has been spicy. So why not start from the beginning.

Thank you for letting me ARC read this spicy book. Damon will be available to read on June 22nd on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited.

J.L. Quick delivered another irresistible daddy-kink romance that had everything I was looking for..a compelling plot, engaging characters, plenty of tension, and all the spice. Add in a forbidden romance and an age gap dynamic, and I was hooked from the start.

Mackenzie is a 19 year old plus size heroine who struggles with self confidence and finding her place in the world. When threats against her father force her to leave college and enter protective custody, she's far from thrilled. Enter Damon, a member of her security detail who is equal parts protective, possessive, and absolutely swoon worthy.

What begins as a job quickly becomes something much more. Damon can't stop thinking about Mackenzie, and one of my favorite things about him was how much he adored every part of her. He constantly reminded her that she was beautiful exactly as she was and never needed to change for anyone. Watching him help her find her confidence, embrace her worth, and discover her voice made their connection even more meaningful.

The chemistry between these two was undeniable. Their banter was entertaining, their tension practically leapt off the page, and every interaction left me wanting more. The slow build of their relationship made the payoff all the more satisfying.

And while the romance brought the heat, there was also plenty of danger lurking in the background. The suspense and action added another layer to the story, it kept me invested. With a perfect blend of spice, emotion, and suspense, this book was impossible to put down.

I really enjoyed this book. I have fallen in love with this authors daddy stories. The more she writes them the more I want to devour them. This book follows Daddy Damon. He and his company are employed to protect a government employees daughter. He has gotten himself in hot water with the cartel and they must protect his daughter Mackenzie at all costs. When we first meet Mackenzie she is away at college and is taken from school for her safety. When she meets Damon they both have a pull to each other. He cares for her in ways she never has been before. Neither of them know that they are about to embark on a relationship that could be considered taboo. The thing is Damon is her ex boyfriends dad. Let me just say that is the best part. Lord help me, I love a good daddy and when one is better than the ex. Damon is so good to and for Mackenzie. There is a lot of tension from outside forces but through it all they over come it all. The twists at then end were not what I expected. I love that there was no third act break up. Overall this book was one of my favorites. I cannot wait for Gunner's book next. It is going to be delicious for sure. This author always leaves you wanting more. She makes you fall in love with all the side characters. She has a way of developing all the characters in a way that leaves you coming back for more. We also go a sneak peak at life after for several of the other couples. It was nice getting to revisit them. If you like daddy books like I do this is one I highly recommend.

So one day you’re in College and the only thing you’re stressing about is your next class… then you get swept away by two intimidating military gods, caged in your own house and fighting a battle that you want nothing to do with.

Tropes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Forced proximity
Age gap
Bodyguard /special ops
High stakes
Ex’s dad
Praise kink
Daddy kink
Found family
Touch her & 💀

Whispers about perimeter checks, monitoring assets and babysitting has Mackenzi itching to just go outside. Secrets are unravelled and what she thought was true, turns out to be her worst nightmare.

Her saving grace is Damon. His job is to protect her, but when his eyes linger a bit too long, and his gaze burns down her body at every chance… what he’s meant to do and what he wants to do become blurred when he finally gives in to their mutual desire.

This book is packed full of everything you want from an age gap, ex’s estranged dad, forced proximity, bodyguard romance!
The “will they or won’t they”, that static chemistry that has them moving like magnets, the Daddy and “Good Girl” vibes, spice lessons. It’s all there!

Mackenzi brings out Damon’s humanity, and Damon boosts her confidence by worshipping her and praising her at every turn.

There’s no 3rd act breakup which I loved! Mackenzi brings out her bratty nature and when the stakes are at its highest we get our “f*#k it” moment!

Highly addictive!
Thank you Luna Literary & JL Quick for this ARC!

Happy Reading

Thank you to JL Quick and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this steamy story.

Overall Thoughts & Emotional Reactions:
This book. I mean, this boooooook! Ms. Quick, queen of steamy daddies! Mackenzi was the exact thing that Damon needed to start chipping away at his “Love’s not for me” exterior. She’s the only one who could break through his defenses and burrow her way into his heart. Damon, however, is exactly the structure Mackenzi needed to find herself. Watching the push and pull between these two until they finally give in, ugh let me tell you, 2 am never looked so good! I could not put this book down until that tension paid off. The rest of the Delta gang is there. Their loving insults and teasing had me rolling. I legit burst into wild giggling at 1 am because of Jagger. I need more of these ex-military men!

Tropes:
Daddy Kink
Ex-Boyfriend’s Dad
Age Gap (20 years)
Dark-Ops/Security
Virgin FMC
Corruption Kink
Plus Size FMC

Favorite Quotes:
"I don’t know what I did in my life to deserve you. But I’m going to spend a lifetime showing you how grateful I am.”

“I don’t think you understand, trouble. We’re doing this. There isn’t a version of this where I willingly walk away from you.”

“She’s beautiful, like art, sin, and salvation all wrapped in skin that comes to life under my touch.”

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The above opinions are my own.

ARC Review: 5⭐️
Damon is book 3 in the Dark Daddies of Delta Force series featuring Damon Wolfe & Mackenzi Bradenburg.

After threats are made against him, Ambassador Richard Bradenburg calls on the Aegis team to protect himself and his daughter. Damon & Hawk head to Westbridge university to collect her and bring her safely back home, but first they must deal with a reluctant Mackenzi.

Once they return to the ambassadors residence with Mackenzi, Damon is tasked with being her personal body guard until they can get to the bottom of the threat against her father.

Overtime, tension grows between Damon & Mackenzi, and eventually it hits a boiling point and then Damon becomes her Daddy, protecting her the only way he knows how.

When the threat arrives on the doorsteps of the compound, Damon will do whatever is nessarcary to keep her safe, but will he be a little to late?

Wow this story was literally everything I needed and so much more. I felt such a deep connection to Mackenzi because I’ve known what it’s like to feel like the outcast because of my weight and put stock in my worth based on that. I loved how Damon loved her and made sure she knew just how much he loved her beautiful body no matter what.

This series continues to be a favourite of mine and im glad we got to see the other Aegis guys too and their typical banter (IYKYK).

Thank you JL for the ARC!

This book can be summed up for me in one word:delicious!!!!! The plot, the characters, the spice! Absolutely delicious. Damon by J.L. Quick is the third book in the Delta Daddies Series and can be read as a stand alone.

Mackenzie was a fantastic FMC. I loved seeing her confidence grow throughout this book. The way she accepted herself and her body was so wonderful to read. She handled everything that was happening to her so well and showed such maturity throughout this book. I just loved her.

The banter between the guys was hilarious and honestly I love this world so much…I’ll be sad when it ends. I’ve been waiting to get to know Damon since book one and J.L didn’t disappoint. The way he loves Mackenzie and will do anything to keep her safe was awesome. Plus his dirty mouth? Yes…..he is Daddy.

Let’s discuss the spice. Ohhhhhh the spice. The storage room scene was hands down the spiciest, hottest thing I’ve ever read. My jaw was on the floor. It was everything. Damon’s dirty mouth is borderline obscene and I’m so here for it!!!!

This book is not one to be missed!

Thank you to J.L.Quick for the ARC of this book.

OMG!! I have no idea what JL puts into her books, but Damon is absolutely addictive.

I loved every single page of this book. Every moment between Damon and Mackenzie had me hooked, and the interactions between the guys were just as entertaining.
Jagger was, as always, his chaotic and hilarious self, constantly making me laugh, while Gunnar showed an even funnier side of himself. Needless to say, I am beyond excited for his story.

Now, let's talk about Daddy Damon and his trouble. The chemistry between Damon and Mackenzie is undeniable from the very beginning, and with every chapter, the tension, attraction, and connection between them only grows stronger.

Damon is everything I could want in a hero—protective, devoted, and completely determined to take care of his girl no matter what stands in his way. I also loved Mackenzie's journey as she learns that she is perfect exactly as she is and deserves someone who truly sees her worth.

One of my favorite things about this book was how JL balanced the spice with a compelling plot and plenty of action. The romance was sizzling, but the suspense and storyline added the perfect amount of depth and excitement.

Another fantastic addition to the series, and now I'm impatiently waiting for Gunnar's book!

Damon is the third book in the dark daddies of the Delta Force series, and I had fun buddy reading it with BB Lolo. If you love insta love type of books with a man so down bad for his women, this is the book you want to read. It moves at a very fast pace, and the spice is so so hot! I enjoyed this one, but it made me more excited for Gunners' book. I loved that it was an ex boyfriends dad, and no one knew it until well too late, the convo that happened had me cackling. There were a couple of things I felt like could have had more resolution with, particularly around his son, but overall, I did enjoy this!

Damon, our MMC, is dark and broody and very intense. I loved how he stood up for Mackenzi and didn't let the issues with his son get in the way of his relationship with her. I loved the found family elements throughout these books, and this one makes it even better as it really shows the nuances with their found family.

Mackenzi, our FMC, doesn't have a lot of confidence or expirence and I did struggle with this at points, for me it really just showed their age gap, but y'all know I love my age gaps so it didn't completely take away from the book for me, though I know some will struggle with this. I loved how sweet she was with Damon and that she got her hea.

Every time I finish a Dark Daddies of the Delta Force, I have a new favorite daddy. Congratulations Damon, you are indeed my favorite Dark Daddy. The spice in this was so good omg. I loved how patient he was with Kenzi. I loved that he saw her, truly saw her and encouraged her to be herself. Where others criticized and made her feel less than, Daddy Damon built her up. I loved how he loved her even before he said the words. I don’t envy anything or anyone who got in way of getting back to his girl. The plot was really interesting and I was so locked in to the drama. What can I say? I love the ex boyfriend’s dad trope. Sue me!

I can’t wait to read Gunnar😌

If you’re not already ready Dark Daddies, baby what are you waiting on? These men will have you blushing and giggling but also yearning at the same time cause what do you mean they worship the ground their women walk on, would do anything to protect them, support them, encourage them, help them learn to love the parts of themselves that they believed to be unlovable, and create such a safe space for them amongst all the chaos so that they can actually turn their brains off?? Need that!
