5 star ADDICTING read.

The lead singer: Ancient vampire king with control issues.
The new personal assistant: Human sunshine who is inconveniently immune to his magic.
The workplace boundaries: Nonexistent.
The tour bus: A slow-burn HR violation waiting to happen.
The prophecy: RUIN, apparently. Very reassuring.
And somewhere between the music, blood, ancient magic, and Niko Vane desperately trying not to want the one woman capable of unraveling him, I became extremely invested in this man's rapidly deteriorating self-control.

Honestly, I'm about 50% of the way in and I'm just not vibing with the story or the characters. I hate dnf'ing ARCs, but i don't want to push through something I'm no fully enjoying...it's not fair to me or the author.

But I felt like I was almost getting whiplash from Niko and Cadence...one moment he seems like he hates her and wants nothing to do with her, and then we turn right back around and it's almost like an insta love type thing. I found myself wondering if I almost missed some key points and flipped back just to make sure...

I don't feel as if the whole back story with her parents and her running off and blacking out fit in very well. And her parents randomly showing up to a venue where she's working and then they have a fight? Something about it just didnt flow well with me. Also, how was she suddenly forgetting Cass's name when she had no problem remembering it in the beginning? Maybe those questions would be answered later, but.

With that being said, I think this has a lot of potential and it's a cute little romance. Ezren is my favorite character out of everyone I've met so far! He's adorable and hilarious and also just as hot!

I'm sorry I couldn't finish this book, but I may end up reading it again when I'm in a better mindset to get through it.

I really enjoyed this story! The chemistry and attraction between Niko and Cadence were so good, and their connection kept me hooked from the very beginning. I flew through this book because I honestly couldn’t put it down! I also loved how unique the concept was (a vampire king who is also a member of a rock band?) Yes, please! It definitely made the story stand out and gave it something different.

Who could resist a story about an ancient vampire king struggling with control issues, especially when his new personal assistant turns out to be human? I genuinely appreciated the unique chemistry and undeniable attraction between Niko and Cadence, unlike anything I’ve encountered before. Their bond captivated me from the very first page all the way through to the conclusion. I would strongly suggest this book to readers of all kinds.

When I saw this book teases on Instagram, I knew it was instantly for me. Rock music. A craving for freedom. Vampires. Found family. All added up to a true Stephanie formula. 👌🏻

There are a few spots where I longed for more threads to connect, and a few oddly phrased sentences. However, this is easily one of my personal favorite reads of the year.

I can't wait for book two!

This was fun read for me. I really enjoyed seen the chemistry between Niko and Cadence. Reading the chem between these two got me hocked and I couldn’t put it down. I do wish there was a little more spice, I get that it was slow burn, but idk would have like to see a bit more.

Overall a nice read! I recommend it ☺️

This book had it all! I loved how cadence went for what she wanted despite what her family thought. I could not put the book down! It kept me on the edge of my seat. The ending was confusing at first but it made sense halfway through the last chapter. I’m excited to see if where this story continues.

This book was pretty good! They have some great chemistry almost right away, and the way they fight their attraction to each other leads to some great scenes with great tension. And once they admit their feelings for each other, seeing them willing to do anything for each other is 🤌
