5 Mars Bars for Taking Souls
This book was incredibly satisfying, it deserves a Mars Bar rating ☺
1 Charlotte
Charlotte was a southern magical mystery who prefers a slow pace. She was a smart ass, a fashionista, a loyal friend with a wacky sense of humour.
She is clueless about her origins and you share her shock when she learns about her past.
2 Supernatural Bureau of Investigations
Think FBI meets Supernatural meets The Avengers.
You meet different supernatural characters like shifters, vampires, witches, elementals and empaths.
They work on catching supernatural villains and have to improvise each time they run into a new monster.
I love it when characters dont have all the answers and you actually get to see them in action.
They research, hit dead ends, have a hidden headquarters and bond with their friends.
3 Motives & Backstories
You don't always know why the characters act or react in a certain way.
Sometimes you dont get a reason, even when you do, they are not always convincing.
In this story, each character had a reason for being angry, guarded or scared...and I was convinced, each and every time.
This saved me from endless analysis and frustration, I was free to relax and enjoy the twists and turns.
4 Kian The Amazing love interest
He was goreous...
He was a vampire...
He was Irish
He was incredibly Romantic...
'Nuff said.
5 Sprinkles
The little stuff that makes a HUGE difference :

Surprises - Yes !!!!!
Murder, mystery, bffs, designer outfits, tender moments.
To summarize, I'm a happy smurf after reading this and would love to read the rest of the series.

Taking Souls is a paranormal romance with a realistic flair. Though the main characters are Supernatural they still struggle with humanity and the issues that most of us mortals do at one time or another.
Charlie Hamilton is a Supernatural mystery – gifted with the craft of witches and the ability to take souls. Charlie retired from the Supernatural Bureau of Investigations after having her heart broken by sexy vampire Kian O’Connor.
Since leaving the team she has found peace in coastal living and has funded her designer tag addiction by working “kiss” jobs for the equally sexy Grim Reaper, Gabriel.
Charlie is torn between doing what is right or opening old wounds when her ex requests her assistance with catching a Supernatural serial killer.
Charlie is a strong heroine - a Southern spit-fire who faces insecurities like anyone else.

The author has a very pleasant writing style that she uses to develop this unique plot. It mixes different paranormal genres beautifully coming up with a different twist to the usual vampires, witches and so on stories. The pace is a tad on the faster side filled with action. This was one of those books I didn't want to put down.
Charlotte is a unique character. I have to admit though, I somehow didn't really warm up to her. She seems a bit too extreme in her mannerism, which did fit her character, just wasn't my favorite one. Kian on the other hand is adorable. They do make for a great match though. The story has some other fun characters like Jordan, John, Raylan and so on, and I would definitely like to read more about their stories!
All in all I really enjoyed this book even though I was not a huge fan of Charlotte. I will definitely read more books from this series when they come out.

Well, damn. I couldn't put the book down after I've start. And that's bad cos I've got panda eyes now. Lol...
Charlie is a witch with special abilities. She can take souls away by kissing that person. She is working with a sexy handsome reaper name Gabriel. Who teach her how to control and use her ability. And they work together for a long long time. In the meanwhile, Charlie used to be a member of a special team force for the supernaturals. But she quit after finding her BF cum colleague in bed with a blonde. But months later, she's back with the work force. Cos they need her help in exorcist a very powerful demon.
I like the characters in the book. Even the ' cheating ' vampire BF Kian. Not much hatred will inflict upon reading the book except towards the demon. Well, if you know the reason why he's committing the sins. I couldn't help but feel a slight pity towards him. And there's a demon number 2 who's lurking in the dark and slowly going after Charlie. Book 1 leave us hoping that Fanny, the longtime family friend of Charlie to be safe.
Looking forward to Book 2. Couldn't wait for more actions.
