Jenny King detested the mere thought of Liam Larson. She didn't understand why every girl at Spencer High was intoxicated with him. But that was all before October 11th. It was a simple gesture; Liam the all-star football player for the Spencer High Yellow Jackets handed Jenny her baton. That encounter would change their lives forever. From then on, they became inseparable. Jenny begins to notice a strange coincidence that seems to follow them; the number 11. It has become their shadow. When Liam begins indulging in street racing, Jenny becomes unraveled. He is always in heat number 11; or his time ends up with 11 in it. Jenny is convinced that the number is plaguing her for a reason. Soon, Johnny Bryant, a friend of Liam’s moves to Spencer. He played football for the Walton Tigers, their number 11, and moves to Spencer when his mom, Gertie Bryant, a numerologist and psychic opens a spiritual shop. Johnny falls for Jenny and tells Liam that until there is a ring on her finger; she is his for the taking. Fights between Liam and Johnny over Jenny take center stage, and the boys decide that they need to end their feud by racing each other on April 11th. The day arrives with a vengeance, bringing with it a horrible rainstorm. Jenny persuades Liam to let her ride with him. Johnny pulls up next to them in his white Bronco. Liam's black Ford F-150 growls as they await the start. The race begins and both trucks barrel down the wet and dark road. Jenny glares as she sees the road turn into the ominous number 11. Her ghosts become real. It's Kismet.

This book hooked me from the start and I can't say how many times I stayed up late to finish it! The story line was unique which made it stand out from other romance novels. I loved the dynamic between Jenny and Liam but I feel like they were always assuming the worst out of each other. Although when Liam was kissing Shanna, I totally understand that reaction. Jenny must have a lot of forgiveness in her heart because I would've kicked that boy to the curb, no matter how charismatic or good looking he is. I expected Johnny to show up earlier because by the time he came, Jenny was pretty much won over by Liam and I honestly wouldn't have accepted it if she ended up with him after all Liam and her have been through. I liked the unexpected ending (I'm happy he put a ring on it) and I can't wait for more! Good job Mrs. Kincaid!
