Dr. JH Sightler's works are rare treasures in a day of limited original research. As a former professor of church history, Dr. Sightler explores in this book the textual history behind modern versions such as the NIV, NASB and ESV. In this and other works, he also brings to light the corrupt spiritual feel in the Church of England in the late 1800s that led to the producing of the Westcott and Hort Greek text, the ASV and the RV.

None of Sightler's works are light reads but anyone either seeking the truth about the version issue or simply an ardent student of history, will find this and his other works truly engaging.
