The First Alphabetic Inscriptions and How They Revolutionize the History

Rate this book
No one ever suspected that the first alphabetic inscriptions would be in Akkadian, the cuneiform language of ancient Mesopotamia. For the first time in history these critical texts, like the Moabite Stele, have been accurately translated. They show Israel had a sophisticated paganism prior to a severe 10 year drought starting in 850 BCE which was the time of prophet Elijah and Queen Jezebel. This drought resulted in a socio-economic and religious revolution which destroyed the old order and made Yahweh (“Lord” in the Bible) the god of Israel.
