A rather unusual book combining mostly black and white photographs, abstract "drawings", and both printed and handwritten text, often all on top of each other on the same page. The over all effect is pleasant and attractive, like some abstract art work, if confusing and chaotic looking. Most of the handwriting is impossible to read, as is some of the text, in verse form, in which Anderson writes about herself and "thin air" and "missing Playboy" and about her relationships. Of course the main subject of the photographs is, to everyone's surprise, Anderson herself, usually captured by the lens before getting completely dressed. The images might work better, not read on the page, but enlarged and placed on a gallery wall with track lighting to be viewed from a distance. It seems a little superficial at first glance and reading, but still sincere and from the heart. I'm not sure this works as effective communication but I always like it when someone has the guts to try something new and unusual. I'm sure her fans will be impressed; and I'm pleased to find out that Anderson has her own foundation, at PamelaAndersonfoundation.org which "supports organizations and individuals that stand on the front lines in the protection of human, animal, and environmental rights." I hope it's very successful!
